Chapter 13: ...just what you got coming -

The Prophetess giggled madly as she turned from the floor, clutching her dress against her bare breasts with one hand while the other rested against her stomach. Bardock frowned, rubbing his tired eyes. "Just lay down. I'm sleepy."

"Sleepy," the Prophetess laughed softly and rose to her feet. Bardock's eyes drew down her body, realizing that she hadn't even taken off her shoes. "Thou sounds like a toddler. Want a cookie and milk, too?"

"Sounds good," he muttered and yawned again, rolling his head back to close his eyes. He wasn't given much peace. A heal of her shoe pressed down against his stomach. "Get up. Kakarrotto comes."

"Nani?" Bardock snarled, sitting up. The Prophetess stumbled back, balance off from his sudden movement. She stumbled back with that mad laughter of insanity and twirled as she regained her balance, pausing only to draw the dress over her head. As the soft silks fell down around her curves she spun around, dancing to music that only played in her head. Bardock jumped to his feet, tugging on his armor as fast as he could. There was a small bit of panic playing within him. His eyes darted around the room, searching for some escape. "We have to get off this planet…"

"No!" the Prophetess exclaimed, white eyes dimming with grayness. Bardock paused hands on the edge of his armor as he tugged it across his chest. Her eyes were smoking! Fait shades of gray were stirring within the whiteness. "What's wrong with you?" he demanded.

"Go, the showers are at the end of the hall. I must see Vejita." She turned and moved to the doors opposite the entrance. Bardock paused, watching her hips sway as she moved. The panicked reminder of Kakarrotto's approach echoed in his head. Bardock turned and darted towards the showers.

Kakarrotto paused as his scanner quietly beeped out again. Outside the showers he paused and removed his scouter. Only one immeasurable ki was left, and it was Vejita's. Pride and joy silently filled the young Saiyajin. They were finally free of the demon's wrath and rule, and his empire would become Vejita's. The Saiyajin Empire could be reborn. Surely more Saiyajin had survived than just those few, and with those survivors, once they were found, there would be nothing in the way of recreating Vejita-sei and ruling the universe. The anger that was directed to his father faded in that moment as Kakarrotto shoved open the doors and stepped through, steam circling his body immediately, filling the air around him and causing sweat to fall from his brow. It was hot as the fires of hell in the room. "Tousan," he called out, removing the scouter from his face so he could see properly.

The shower cut off abruptly, and after a short moment Bardock came out from around the corner, a pale blue towel circling his waist, held up by his tail. The curved muscles of his chest seemed to glow, coated with endless droplets of water that hadn't been wiped away. His wild and spiky hair dripped down around the base of his neck, yet still jerked out from his head, making a mockery of a black halo. Bardock grinned. "He's won, hasn't he?"

"Hai," Kakarrotto responded with a laugh. "Where is the Prophetess? Why did you flee? Ouji-sama will not be pleased that you had such little faith in him."

"Vejita didn't have faith in himself, Kakarrotto. He told me to take the Prophetess and flee the planet."

Kakarrotto paused, his smile fading as distrust and disbelief overwhelmed. "Nani? He did?"

Bardock shrugged and moved towards the benches built into the wall, where his clothes had been thrown. "I was guiding the Prophetess towards the docking bay, but she… refused to enter." His voice seemed to waver, but Kakarrotto didn't notice. "She said wild things, but she told me that there wasn't a reason to worry." He tossed the towel aside and tugged on his gi quickly, pulling his armor over his head. "I believed her. She lives up to her title, I must say that."

A faint blush burned across Kakarrotto's dark cheeks. He turned to the side, avoiding the shapely curves of his father's body. "I… I suppose that's why Frieza kept her for so long."

"Hai," Bardock nodded, sitting down on the bench as he dried his hair with the towel. The vivid images of the destruction of Vejita-sei replayed in his mind. He still didn't honestly know what his purpose here was. The Prophetess had brought him and Raditzu, or at least Raditzu's mind, from another time. She must have had some greater scheme, some evil plot… he sighed in frustration, tossing the towel away. "Do you trust the Prophetess, Kakarrotto?"

"Trust her?" Kakarrotto questioned with a narrowed brow. "Why shouldn't I?"

Bardock bowed his head, refusing to answer the inquiry. Kakarrotto glared in annoyance. "Listen, Bardock," he snarled, and the change from 'Father' to his name did not go unnoticed. "Whatever issues you have with the Prophetess, you better solve. If Vejita told you to protect her, then he needs her. Perhaps he plans to user her to expand the new Saiyajin Empire - but whatever the reason, she's important."

"Has it occurred to you, Kakarrotto, mate of Vejita Ouji, that perhaps he is in love with her?"

The quietly hissed question caught Kakarrotto completely off guard. His eyes widened as he stared at his father, and for what seemed like an eternity he just stared at his father in denial. His hands began to tremble at his side, but as Bardock rose from the bench, a smirk across his face, rage and betrayal filled Kakarrotto - but it was not directed to Vejita, but to himself. "You broke your bond with Vejita when you mated with Raditzu. Not only that, but Raditzu believes that you love him, and the only reason the two of you aren't together is because of Vejita. He's going to be angry enough to kill you when he finally learns the truth. Vejita, more than likely, despises you for what you did to him. He's barely muttered your name in the last month. Have you shared any links with him since your betrayal? Have you shared his bed?"

Blood dripped from the inside of his palms as Kakarrotto listened to the words passing through his father's lips. A broken sob escaped. "I'll kill her…" Kakarrotto hissed, slowly backing towards the door. Bardock's black eyes widened. "Kakarrotto…" he roared, but the door slammed shut behind his son.

Laughter echoed throughout the planet as Vejita landed before Raditzu and Nappa. Despite all the years of being a Super Saiyajin, the first time transforming in the timeline he currently existed in had exhausted him. His golden flamed hair faded back to black, glowing green eyes dimming to the dark orbs. He relaxed a great deal, fingers uncurling from the fists, shoulders dropping out of defense. Nappa cried out with joy, hovering in the air as he hooted. Raditzu laughed aloud, both with joy and at Nappa's idiocy.

"Well done, Vejita," came a purred voice from behind him. Vejita looked over the two men to see the Prophetess standing in the doorway, head tilted to the side. He grinned at her, moving between the two Saiyajin to stand before her. "I've done what I came to do. I want to return now."

Her eyes slightly narrowed. "Return?" She glanced towards Raditzu and Nappa before looking back to Vejita. "I've never known myself not to understand another. It's normally the other way around. Return? What does this mean?"

Vejita's lips parted in shock as he stared at her. "My timeline! I want to return to my timeline - where Kakarrotto is known as Gokou, and Chikyuu exists! Where Trunks and Bura and his spawn exist. I want to go back there. Send me and Kakarrotto now!"

She blinked slowly, staring at him as if he spoke nonsense. "Thou speaks of the world the voice in my head originates from, doesn't thou, Vejita?"

"Hai!" he growled out.

The Prophetess shook her head somberly, leaning back against the door as her tail curled around her waist. "I fear, my love, that thy wish cannot be." Her white eyes closed softly, long black lashes brushing against her pale skin. "The power that I have now is little, and the power that I had then is great."

"Vejita," Nappa muttered, stepping forward. Vejita snarled out and swung his fist, connecting with the large and burly mug. Nappa soared backwards and landed on the edge of the newly created crater that was Frieza's grave. His hands gripped into the ground to keep himself from tumbling over the edge. Vejita stepped forward till he loomed over the Prophetess with anger burning in his eyes. He leaned against her face; his warm breath could be tasted on her pale lips. "I want to return home. You will find a way to send me there!"

Her eyes opened slowly, white orbs burning into his. "Anger wilt not help thou, Vejita." She slid out from beneath him and stepped to Raditzu's side, leaning her head against his shoulder. Her arms circled around her stomach, tail looping around her arm. A faint smile dressed her pale lips. "Thou should be satisfied with what lies about. Many Saiyajin live, more than in thy timeline. Do thou not have why thy have always desired? Lord Frieza's blood coat thy hands. Loyalty and love engulfs you. Be satisfied."

Nappa moved forward, limping somewhat. There was a nasty bruise on his thigh. It seemed as if a bone had cracked, but his Saiyajin pride would not allow him to show the weakness before the man who had caused the injury. "Vejita-sama, Ouji-sama, please, Chikyuu…"

"Nani?" Vejita snarled, dark ki vibrating from his body. Nappa stumbled back towards Raditzu, as if the younger Saiyajin could protect him. "Vejita-sama, that planet exists!"

The Prophetess's smile grew as she looked towards Vejita. His dark eyes widened with shock and outraged. "But… I was told…"

"It does. It was under Frieza's rule," Nappa continued. "That damned demon ordered conquered the planet when we came searching for Kakarrotto."

Vejita smirked, faintly, but beneath that smirk there was joy. Bura and Trunks could still exist. Bulma would barely be in her teens now. "And you know, Nappa - what better planet would there be to begin the new Saiyajin Empire?"

"How about on top of her grave?" came a snarl from behind Vejita. All eyes jerked towards the doorway just as a demonic blast erupted, causing Nappa, Raditzu, and the Prophetess to soar backwards in a tangle of limbs. Vejita saw through the bright blast, blocking it with an effort of his will. "Kakarrotto!" he snarled and the blast dimmed, but to his surprise Kakarrotto was no longer in the doorway. Vejita spun with a gasp as he saw, above Frieza's grave, the Prophetess struggling for her life. Already, a cut ran across her cheek. She dodged frantically at Kakarrotto's surprising speed. Vejita could feel the overwhelming power emerging from within Kakarrotto's soul. It was so close to being a Super Saiyajin, and yet just out of reach. "STOP!" he screamed as he darted towards the air, but found himself thrown back by a shield of ki. Vejita roared, slamming his fist against the barrier, but a mad laughter caused him to pause. The white orbs of the Prophetess were watching him, a smirk across of her face. "Without Frieza, nothing but chaos exists!"

Kakarrotto's black eyes exploded in blue power as a dark blast exploded from his hands. He hurled the two burning orbs towards the Prophetess, orbs that could easily be deflected. Her eyes turned away from Vejita with a faint smile, arms stretching out as if she was being sacrificed to angered gods above. To her, that was the truth. Frieza awaited his servant.

The blast connected with her chest, sending her tumbling through the ki shield that she had created to keep Vejita out as it dispersed. She landed within the dark depths of the crater, blood pouring from the wound, intermingling with the crimson fabrics of her dress. Vejita snarled aloud, black eyes rising to Kakarrotto, who watched him with anger that Vejita would have never thought resided in the Saiyajin's heart. His rage faltered at that intense burning hatred. "Kakarrotto…" he whispered faintly, afraid to move forward, as if he were a father reaching out to her murderous son. Not even towards the face of Cell or Majin Buu had Kakarrotto held such sinister and pure loathing. "Kakarrotto… Chikyuu still exists," he whispered faintly, hoping to reach the entrapped Gokou that rested within. There was no sign of recognizing in those black eyes. "I betrayed you… but I never expected you to do the same, Vejita."

"Kakarrotto," Vejita snarled, blasts burning against his fingertips. He could smell the Prophetess's blood in the cool wind.

"No!" Kakarrotto snarled out. "No! You are the Saiyajin no Ouji, my Ouji, but you will never again be my mate." He spun in the air, darting away in a flash of white. Vejita gazed down, barely seeing the body of the Prophetess among the rubble. With a heavy heart he turned, floating downwards towards the ground where Raditzu and Nappa silently awaited.

~*~

They were slowly heading towards the planet that had been haunting Vejita's thoughts for the past two months. Kakarrotto stood outside a door, hands resting against the cool surface. They had been on that shipped for just an afternoon, and had managed to avoid each other. Kakarrotto hoped it could continue throughout the entire journey, though he highly doubted it. He had spoken to Raditzu, and his elder brother had told him that Vejita believed him insane. He had been assured endless times that Vejita had never loved the Prophetess. Kakarrotto didn't know whether he believed them all or not, and at the moment he truly didn't care. They would be arriving on that planet, Chikyuu it was called, to begin the new Saiyajin Empire.

Kakarrotto pressed the button beside the door, watching as it slid open. Bardock rested, stretched out across the bed with his arm thrown over his eyes, legs crossed at the head of the bed, head hanging off the end. He stepped forward and sat down on the edge. Bardock looked up. "Kakarrotto," he said with a smile. Kakarrotto returned the smile and leaned forward, wrapping his hand around his father's neck and tugging him close. "I forgive you," he whispered before pressing his lips against Bardock's.

Epilogue:

The faint giggle of voices caused her to gaze up from the river's edge as the two children came running. She smiled, crossing her ankles behind her as she propped her head up in her palms. The two children darted through the trees, jumping over the branches, their long brown tails wagging behind him. They were nearly a year old, and slowly appearing to be preteens. She sighed and rolled onto her back, tail curling around her waist as her white eyes gazed into the oddly colored heavens. Life on Frieza's planet was peaceful.

Beneath the crimson dress she wore, a dark scar ran across her chest - a scar that had nearly caused her death, but that was all in the past. The Prophetess smiled faintly, arms circling around her stomach as she heard the laughter of Bardock's children.
