Prologue
As the sun began to hide behind the mountain tops, the rays created a warm across the sky. But for one unfortunate person, the sun's rays were not enough to heat up the frozen heart that lay within her body. A heart that had once been filled with hope, love, and dreams was now a mere organ harboring pain and sorrow.
"You can't love me."
"I don't love you… not like that."
Shoulders shook gently as her sobs quieted down to small gasps for air and hiccups. The words brought new pain once again, but the tears had long subsided when she could cry no more. Not because she didn't want to, but because she truly couldn't. She was all cried out.
"I don't love you…"
The statement haunted and echoed around her head like a curse. And it was in many ways. A part of her was gone due to those four word; a part that she wasn't sure if she'd ever get back.
