Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ White Tail & Angel Wings ❯ Erster Kuss ( Chapter 2 )
--Written by Naki
A few days later, Karaine finally ventured back outside into the snow, garbed in a heavy coat and thick gloves. She steps gingerly through the snow, holding Trunks' hand. He releases her hand and jumps up onto a snow-covered stump.
"Hey," he said suddenly.
"Yes?" Karaine asked.
"What's your favorite color?"
 Karaine looked clueless. "Huh?"
"Color. Your favorite color. What is it?"
"Uh…" Karaine hesitated. "I've never really thought about that before. I guess…blue?"
"How old are you?"
She did the math quickly in her head. "…17."
"Me too."
Trunks turned his back to her, looking off into the forest that bordered the backyard. Karaine looked at the ground. Maybe…
"Hey Trunks!"
 He turned around. "What?"
Ploof!
Trunks was hit in the face by a snowball. Karaine giggled.
Wiping the snow from his face, Trunks said, "Oh, you think that's funny, do you?"
Karaine giggled as Trunks chased after her. The pursuit led deep into the forest behind the house. Karaine came to a large fallen tree. She slapped a hand quickly down onto it as she ran up and she vaulted over the dead trunk. Trunks approached the fallen tree and jumped up on it. As he landed, his left foot sunk deep into the rotting wood. He cursed loudly, his voice echoing around the trees.
Karaine slipped behind a living tree, waiting for Trunks to free himself. After a few moments, she peeked from behind the tree and didn't see him anywhere.
"Where…?" She whispered.
"Hi."
Karaine whipped around and found Trunks standing less than two feet from her. He covered that distance in a step and slipped his arms about her waist.
"Trunks…" she said quietly as she laid hands on his arms.
He leaned forward and rested his forehead against hers.
"What are you thinking about?" Trunks asked.
When she didn't answer, Trunks brought a hand up and caressed her face.
"I know what I'm thinking," Trunks continued. "I'm thinking of how beautiful you are."
 Karaine's cheeks turned red.
"Trunks!!"
 Trunks lifted his head. "Goten…"
"What does he want?" Karaine asked. "Where is he, anyway?"
Before anything else happened, Trunks grabbed her waist and pulled her to the other side of the tree. He then pulled her close to him in a kiss.
"Trunks!" Goten ran up. He stared at the kissing couple. He tugged on Trunks' sleeve. "Trunks…"
Without breaking their kiss, Trunks suddenly shoved Goten roughly in the chest, sending him straight into a tree. The tree splintered and collapsed onto the ground. Goten sat up, holding his head.
"Ow…" he complained, seeing stars circling his head. He shook his head rapidly to clear it. He watched the two end their kiss and embrace.
"Um…" Goten stood slowly. "Sorry if I interrupt, but…" Trunks glared at him. "Trunks, your parents are here."
"Dad too?" Trunks asked, his angered expression changed to that of surprise.
Goten nodded. "Yeah, and he's in a foul mood, too."
"He's always in a foul mood," Trunks said, taking Karaine by the hand. "C'mon, you can meet my parents."
As they trudged through the snow back towards the house, Goten piped up.
"Hey, come to think about it, what about your parents, Karaine? Aren't they worried about you?"
Karaine stared at the ground. "I wouldn't know."
"Why not?" Goten pressed. "Where are they?"
"They're dead."
Goten opened his mouth, but shut it.
"Yes, they were murdered, if that's what you're gonna ask," Karaine asked.
"By who?" Goten asked.
"I'd rather not talk about it," Karaine said.
They reached the back door and opened it.
Gohan's here with Videl and the baby," Goten informed. "They got here just before your parents, Trunks."
Trunks helped removed Karaine's coat before taking his off.
"Ooo, daddy! Trunks has a girlfriend!"
"Who's that?"
"My little sister," Trunks answered with a grimace. "Her name's Bra, she's seven, and has dad wrapped around her little finger."
A small girl with matching eyes and hair came bounding into the room.
"Hi!" She said waving.
"Hi…" Karaine said distantly as another figure moved in through the doorway.
"Took you long enough."
"Hi dad," Trunks said with a cocky grin on his face. He took Karaine by the hand and led her past Vegeta and into the next room.
Gohan stood next to Videl, who was sitting on the end of the couch, holding a baby. Bulma sat next to Videl, talking to her.
"Hey," Trunks said quietly to Karaine. He pointed to Gohan. "That's Goten's older brother Gohan and his wife Videl." He pointed to Bulma. "That's my mom, Bulma."
Bulma smiled and waved at Karaine. Karaine shyly waved back.
Vegeta walked back into the living room with Bra following him.
 Karaine glanced over at him.
Vegeta narrowed his eyes. "What are you looking at?"
Karaine averted her gaze. Trunks looked at her, and then to Vegeta. "Knock it off, dad," he said.
Vegeta smirked. "Who are you to tell me what to do?"
Bra tugged on Vegeta's arm. "Daddy, leave them alone."
Vegeta patted Bra's head and looked scornfully over at Karaine. "Fine."
