Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Why Us? :The CampOut ❯ Song and a Stroll ( Chapter 3 )
Disclaimer: I do not, nor ever will own Dragon Ball Z, or any of it's characters. Jen and Christine are based on the author of this FanFic and her best friend.
"Dragon Balls, Tortoise crawls, Kami laid an egg! King Kai jokes, Roshi smokes and Shenlong has no legs, HEY! Namek's green, Puar screams, Oolong's just a pig! Goku rocks, he has smelly socks and Krillen needs a wiiiiiigggg!" Goten and Trunks sang out in off key voices, using the tune from Jingle Bells. Once finished their song, Goku laughed hysterically, nearly falling off the log he sat at near the fire. Krillen frowned, grumbled and hiding his head in his hand while Christine patted his back kindly, snickering to herself. Jen and Gohan clapped lightly, and Vegeta merely stared at his son with a mix of rage and horror.
"That…was slightly disturbing," Jen whispered to Gohan as the kids laughed in a riot of giggles with Goku, who still seemed to find it hilarious. Gohan nodded several times.
"We should just leave Dad with the kids for a while, they'd entertain each other for hours on end." Krillen, Christine and even Vegeta all nodded in agreement. They eyed the continuously rolling and laughing trio on the grass and leaf covered ground. Rolling his eyes, the stout black haired Saiyan warrior stood up and marched off into the darkness of the forest, most likely to train as the others (beyond the nearly pissing themselves three on the floor) watched him.
"Poor Vegeta, too much for him to handle, watching his own son fraternizing with Goku and us," Jen joked, plastering on a sad face as if she felt remorse for him. "To think, his off spring will have Son cooties!" She shuddered dramatically, causing a few snickers to move through the others. When Vegeta wasn't around was the safest time to make some jokes about him.
It was getting late into the night and after walking around for a while, they had agreed on the chosen spot as the camp spot, setting up a fire and logs for sitting. Only one tent was set, meant for food and, the female changing area since they chose to change out of view of the others. A hasty midnight snack of rice, and they all sat around the blaze while the children sang their own made up songs and the rest merely talked off by themselves while Vegeta had gone to roam in the wild. Sleeping under the stars was the idea, as they set up sleeping bags on the open clearing, framed by a small hill like cliff, not very steep but still having a definite edge.
The three teenagers, Gohan, Christine and Jen sat up, glancing around the camp behind them, as they sat with feet dangling over the sloping cliff side. Heavy snoring could be heard and sure enough, Goku's mouth was as open as a cavern, letting the sound echo through the night. Goten and Trunks lay at his side, in the same pose, mouths open legs and arms sprawled everywhere as they fought against each other in their sleep. Their hands weakly pushed the other away for more space on the ruffled and messed up sleeping bags. Krillen slept soundly in his own sleeping bag, face down into it and carefully, Christine rolled him over so he could breathe properly instead of swallowing mouthfuls of blanket. She crept back to her friends and sighed.
"Well, I'm starting to get a bit tired, so I'm just gonna hop off to bed, ok? See you two in the morning and no fooling around, you hear me?" Christine said in a whisper, winking cheekily at her buddies before crawling over to her sleeping bag near Krillen's and snuggling into the covers. One eye opened carefully as she heard a slight mumbling noise. Reaching her hand out, she rolled Krillen over again, as he had returned to face down position. She'd have to keep checking up on him to make sure he didn't suffocate in his own pillow. He was such a funny guy.
After the second time of being rolled over, Krillen tiredly opened his eyes to find Christine in her sleeping bag, hands behind her head and watching the sky. Yawning he licked his lips a bit and frowned, whispering over to her.
"Was I sleeping with my mouth open? I'm really thirsty…"
"I bet you are. You swallowed like half of your pillow there. Do you usually take a nosedive into your pillow and try to suffocate yourself when you sleep?" Christine asked grinning lightly with only the stars sending a small bit of light on her face. Good thing it was so dark, as the small human scratched the back of his head and sighed nervously, blushing for the umpteenth time this day.
"Only occasionally. Thanks for saving me from drowning in cotton sheets," he replied, sitting up and crossing his legs under the thin cover. An old white T-shirt and boxers were the norm for sleeping garments for mostly everyone, including Goku. His were more obvious though, since the large Saiyan was sprawled out over three times as much space as his sleeping bag took up, and only his left foot actually covered in blankets. Krillen raised an eyebrow, listening to the snoring that was only combating with the two smaller sets from Trunks and Goten.
"Well, at least we don't have to worry about animals attacking us. They'll be scared away by big mouth over there," Christine muttered, covering her ears with her hands, her hair pulled back in a braid with a bandanna pulling any stare strands out of her face, though she still wore her classic training Gi. "Kami, how can ChiChi stand sleeping in the same room as that?"
"I'm not even sure if she does. I'd guess she's got some major big earplugs or something, like the ones you use at construction sites. That'd be the only way I could think anyone would survive one night without going deaf." Christine giggled at this and sat up as well, shaking her head sadly.
"Yeah, Jen's told me some horror stories of both of them, ChiChi and Goku alike. They've got… Big mouths, in the literal sense of the phrase."
Maybe the two beings actually fit together then. ChiChi could scream so loud, it was able to make Vegeta's ears bleed once. Funny times they were, seeing the Saiyan Prince's eyes widen and scream in pain while clutching onto his ears and madly stumbling out of the house, followed by all the other alien and alien half breeds alike. Sadly, he had been standing closest to the volatile female when she blew up in a fit of rage at Goku for eating a cookie before suppertime.
Goku could snore so loud, it made the house shake and made Gohan and Jen believe an earthquake had occurred. Christine had received a late night phone call from a frightened Jen, sobbing over the phone that the house was being shaken to bits and that she was huddling under a desk in the house with Gohan and Goten. Christine had calmly explained that there was no quake happening at her own home, and it said no where on the news that there was either.
"What would I do if I didn't have you guys to make fun of…" she whispered lightly. Krillen smirked and shrugged.
"Probably sleep peacefully. I can't stay around his snoring for very long. Wanna take a walk? I'm sure me and you can take care of anything out there," he offered, nodding toward the line of trees and grass behind them. After a moment of thought, she nodded and smiled, both standing up and slipping on their training shoes they walked out in the night, slipping into the bushes while talking softly to one another.
Oh…here's a shocker people! Guess what I want you to do? R&R! ~music plays and adience gasps in awe~ I know I'm asking a lot but, come on and try for it people!
