Prelude: The First Meeting
“Brr…” Ryo shuddered; it had gotten much colder since the last time he had been outside. He wrapped his jean jacket tighter around him, trying to get warmer but to no avail. He would have dressed better, but the job called for a different type of clothing, of the more revealing sort. Oh well,
Ryo thought to himself, it paid off. He had had three clients that night, and walking away with over a grand in cash. “Well, maybe walking away is an overstatement,” Ryo said out loud in an ironic tone, rubbing his tender backside. Hopefully, Berkeley would have something to take away the pain and be pleased with him tonight. He did not have the energy to service anyone else that night, especially not Berkley.

Sliding into an alleyway, Ryo neglected to see a person lurking in the shadows. All of a sudden, he was grabbed and slammed face first into a wall, his left arm twisted behind him, with any possible movement being restricted. He couldn't help the whimper that escaped when his attacker pressed his elbow against his back, but he stopped himself from crying out loud.
“Shut up!” The attacker whispered loudly, increasing the pressure on Ryo's arm. “Just do what I say and you won't get hurt, okay?”
Ryo nodded, too scared to reply.
“Hand over everything you got, money, credit cards, jewellery. And be quick about it, I ain't got all night,” the attacker said gruffly.
“I can't…” Ryo said softly, so softly that his attacker couldn't hear him.
“What did you say?” The attacker demanded, ticked that the boy wasn't listening to him.
“I can't,” Ryo said louder.
“What do you mean you can't?” The attacker turned Ryo around and pinned him against the wall with his left arm. In his right arm, he had a knife, pointed directly at Ryo. “I'm not playing games here. Hand your stuff over, now.”
“I can't, my boss would kill me!” Ryo blurted out, avoiding any names. If he went home without the money, he didn't want to think what would happen to him. “Please, just let me go,” Ryo pleaded.
“Oh, I get it.” The attacker said with disgust, dropping Ryo onto the littered pavement. “You're a slut, aren't you?” He was surprised he hadn't noticed at first, the boy was wearing leather pants so tight it looked as if they were painted on and a muscle shirt underneath a ratty jean jacket. He wasn't that bad to look at though, a slender body with beautiful blond hair, and the most exotic dark eyes.
Ryo flinched at the name his attacker called him and looked down at the pavement in embarrassment.
“I asked, are you a slut?” The attacker repeated, grabbing Ryo by the chin and forcing his head up.
Ryo nodded, tears filling his eyes. Now that his attacker knew, there was nothing stopping him from raping him. “Please, you can have me but you must let me keep the money, I beg you!” With that, Ryo start undoing his pants.
The attacker paused in his movements, shocked at what the boy had offered. His intense green eyes stared into Ryo's tear-filled ones, realizing that no matter how beautiful the boy was, he was not going to stoop that low. He grabbed Ryo by the collar and pulled him of the ground, reaching towards Ryo's undone pants. Ryo flinched but relaxed when all his attacker did was do the zipper back up.
“I don't want you. I'm not someone who gets a kick out of fucking dirty tramps. Just get out of here.” The attacker concluded, letting go of Ryo. He surprised himself with his compassion, normally he wouldn't have cared what happened to the prostitute but there was something about the boy that made him want to protect him.
“Arigato,” Ryo said, bowing. He started to leave the alleyway but remembered something that he wanted to ask. Turning around, Ryo asked “What is your name?” He knew in his head that the question was ridiculous. A victim asking his attacker his name was unheard of but there was something about the green-eyed attacker that drew him in.
“Dee.” The attacker replied and walked away briskly, never stopping to think that he didn't get the other boy's name or to wonder why the boy wanted his.
“Dee,” Ryo repeated in his head over and over until he reached home, “Dee…”
