Fake Fan Fiction ❯ Chania ❯ Doubt ( Chapter 2 )
The camp was in an uproar when we returned, Desht holding onto my waist for support. What was our defense was quiet while we walked by them. Those who had witnessed my anger, knew that I was Rhen Ashno, The Sorcerer who alone could withstand Pykina Queshk and his army of Dead.
Medical Mothers brought Desht to the Healing Tent where Ayith was being cleaned and checked for any signs of damage. Desht took his place as King and ordered that I be with him while he was in the tent when the Mothers insisted that I wait for him outside. I stood by the cot he inhabited while the Mothers checked the healing I had administered to him. They were impressed to say the least.
In the empty space in my head, I focused on Pykina's location and what he intended to do. He was keeping his affairs well hidden for the time being, much to my regret. Desht had been staring at me while in was in my deep meditation, and I saw the fear on his face.
"I thought you said you weren't afraid of me?" I said smiling nervously.
"And I was telling the truth. I'm afraid of what this war means. What's going to happen to Chania? How are we going to fight them off if we don't know how? Pykina's army of Dead don't die like the Alive do. How are we supposed to win?" Desht cried. "I'm supposed to be King, and my sworn duty is to protect my people, but I can't do that because I don't know how! What are-"
He made to go on, but I stopped him before he lost himself completely. "Don't worry about it. I think that I know how to use the powers only when I need to, otherwise all the knowledge would cloud my other thoughts and feelings leaving me the same as one of the Dead. You are doing a fine job as King. No one in all of Chania could wish for anyone better. Trust me, we'll be fine, Chania will be fine. I won't let Pykina take control of our lives or control of Chania." He seemed to be calmer that when I had first begun my explanation, the only difference was that when I began I wasn't lying.
That night a storm covered all of Loos Chania. It smelled of magic and I knew I could stop it if I tried hard enough. I wanted Desht to trust my judgement and for him to do this, I needed to give him good reason to. I walked to the highest hill and concentrated on the storm breaking and it's existence being annihilated by my Words. "Canivhis!" I could only guess what it meant, but I wanted the storm to die, and that is what happened.
Screams filled the air of Loos as soon as I relaxed and stopped my concentration. Running down to our camp, I saw flames of a height only dreampt of by Yine. Looking over to the Healing Tent, my heart stopped; finding it difficult, I told myself to breathe in and out. My thoughts were with Desht. I tried to get into the tent, but when I reached the opening, I was repeled by some magic encealment. I could hear Desht's moaning and I swore vengence on Pykina as soon as I could get into the tent. Summmoning my strength, I called on Words of water, removing and relocating, and healing. My strength was dwindling down to it's maximum efficiency and I knew if I couldn't get Desht out of there, he would die. I fell to the ground, feeling Pykina's aura surrounding our camp. I tried to focus on getting Desht out of there, but I could feel my death coming and there was no way to stop it.
"Desht!" I cried before my last breath was exhaled, much to Pykina's pleasure.

Author's Notes:
Aaia: alrighty, I know that was a hell of a lot shorter that the first chapter, but I had to even it out, right? (-coughEXCUSEScough-) anyways, I know the dying of one of the main characters seems harsh, but read on, i have many tricks up my sleeve!
Tankle: You're not wearing a shirt.
Aaia: That's right! I'm wearing a… BATHING SUIT!
…silence…
Aaia: m'kay, onward we roll. Another reason this chapter is so short is becuz it's past my bedtime! Yes, my mother still has me on bedtime. Creepy much? ANYWAYS, if you read closely, in the fist chapter I gave a description of Desht. HMMM, now who does he look like? I WONDER… -fakes a look of puzzlement- think people^^ I don't feel too bad about letting you in on that seeing as though most people knew that I was giving a description that matched Dee's, and this is the 2nd chapter, so there's another reason. ANYWAYS, I get sidetracked so easily… the story. I'm planning to have it be a long one cuz I've got a four day weekend coming up and I've got nothing better to do than sit in my chair typing fanfics all day, so if you don't want to read a massivly long fic, don't read this. Even though I love people reading my wastes of interalanet space^^ anyways, toodles for now! I got classes in the morning starting w/ tech^^
