A/N: I did promise you guys a two chapter update for every story… ^.^' So here's chapter 14 of Hypnotize the Moon. There's about 21 chapters all together. ^-^

Chapter Fourteen: Moon at Midnight

"Are you sure it'll be okay that we go off today Dee? Leo might still be out there, or Jesse." The light haired man looked at his lover with a bit of worry in his dark eyes.

"Don't worry. We'll be fine!" The dark haired man was all smiles as they left the apartment, they were headed downtown. It was just nice to get out of the apartment and to not be afraid for once.

"I don't know…"

"Oh come on Ryo… Live a little! We can't let Leo and Jesse get to us! If we do, it'll be just what they want. To break our spirits. Besides, a little trip to the mall isn't going to kill us!" The grin on the green eyed man widened as he saw he had won the argument.

"Alright, alright. We'll go to the mall. But still, let's be on our guard okay?" The half-Japanese vampire gave a sigh as he followed the older man downtown.

He had an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach and he did not like it at all. It was telling him this was not a good idea, but he also knew he wouldn't be able to change Dee's mind.

They got to the mall and looked around at all the different people, with Dee making a few wisecracks about some of the `freaks' he saw.

"Dee… Behave. Or I won't let you go into Victoria's Secret." That got his dark haired partner's attention.

"B-bu-but that's a sin!!" It took all Ryo had not to laugh at the crestfallen look on the older man's face. He bit his lip in hopes of keeping the laugh in, but it didn't work. The oriental man had to grab his midsection as it had started hurting from his laughter.

"Nice to know you find me funny." This was the flat voice that Dee used. He looked on at Ryo with a blank expression on his face, trying to keep his laughter in check and doing a better job of it anyway.

They went to the different stores, with Ryo getting a few things they needed for the apartment. Then they passed by Victoria's Secret.

It took two seconds for Dee to disappear inside the store. Ryo sighed as he looked into pink themed store and saw his lover. A sweatdrop formed on his forehead as Dee went around pretending to look for something for his girlfriend. He fooled none of the salesladies. They knew the real reason why he was in there.

A sudden chill came over Ryo, he snapped up and around as he had been leaning against a post. His black eyes searched the area, trying to pinpoint the exact location of Leo's aura.

Dee looked out of the store, wanting to show Ryo something when he saw the way Ryo was looking around. He knew something was up if his light haired lover was looking the way he was.

"Did you sense something?" A nod was his answer as the black eyed man still searched the area, the feeling was getting even more intense.

"He's getting closer." This had Dee on alert as well, he stood back to back with Ryo, trying to look casual as he looked around the mall. That's when he spotted him.

"Found him." Ryo followed Dee's line of view and also saw Leo walking towards them. A growl escaped the smaller man's throat before he could stop it. This actually didn't turn Dee on as the cold feeling crept up his spine.

Leo also spotted the two and smirked. He went over towards them, the spine chilling smirk still in place as he passed by.

"Meet me outside." Ryo's eyes narrowed as he watched as Leo left the mall and went out the West exit.

"Should we follow him?" The green eyed man looked down at his lover in question.

"Let's go." The smaller man was already headed towards the West exit, he didn't have anything on his mind other than bloodlust. The vampire instincts were taking over his mind and body.

"Ryo, calm down. You're letting your instincts override your calm reason. If you do that, you'll only be easy prey for Leo." The hand on Ryo's shoulder snapped him out of his daze. He looked up at his partner and nodded, he knew Dee was right.

They got to the parking lot and saw Leo waiting there leaning against a car. The light haired vampire was instantly on alert for anything that his brother might do.

"Good to see you trust me so much brother dear." The smirk was still in place on the other man's lips. He got up and away from the car, walking right over to the other man.

"I've missed you little brother." The smirk turned into a heart warming smile, and Ryo wasn't buying it. Ryo smacked the arms that were extended towards him away.

"Why did you call us out here?" Leo's smile turned evil and cold. His fingers snapped and they were surrounded by lower class vampires.

The kind that were simply turned into mind controlled zombies, they had no soul and no mind of their own. These vampires were servants, not free of the one who turned them or his partner.

"Lower class vamps?" Dee smirked as he had dealt with them before. The vamps lunged at them, which caused Ryo's hunter instincts to kick in again.

He jumped up and swung his leg around in a roundhouse kick at the first one, slicing off its head. The second one lunged at him like an idiot. He swung his fist up and into the vamp's chest, crushing its heart.

Dee dealt with his fair share of the vamps. His eyes were glowing a bright red by this point as he used his claws to slice the vamps into shreds. He jumped up and came down, slicing the vamp cleanly into ten separate pieces using his claws. He seemingly disappeared, the other vamp that had been attacking him had its head sliced off.

Leo smirked as he watched, then he called out the stronger vamps. Ryo looked towards them and got ready. He knew how to deal with the stronger vamps. He lunged and effectively killed five of the vamps.

"What!? How can you kill all those vamps!? They're supposed to be the strongest! At least stronger than you!" This pissed Leo off, he did not like to see something go wrong with his plan.

"Did you forget…? I was a hunter before I was turned. You made sure I was turned, but I didn't lose my hunter instincts." Ryo then swung around and sliced one vamp in half just using his kick.

"The only perk being a vampire is that I'm stronger. And I've still got my hunter skills. That's a deadly combination."

Dee dealt with the vampires as best as he could, he was having a bit of trouble as they all decided to tackle him at once. He felt claws rip at his skin and punches land solidly. A line of blood trailed from his lip as he had coughed it up.

Ryo caught the smell of the dark haired vampire's blood. His eyes changed from black to a bright red as his vampire's instincts overrode his hunter. They had hurt his mate! They'd all die!

Leo saw his younger brother disappear, he tried to sense the aura, but it was impossible to find. This freaked Leo out a bit, he didn't like it.

All of a sudden, five of the vamps attacking the dark haired vampire fell to the ground holding their throats. They were sliced cleanly open and the five unlucky ones died as they hit the ground.

The other five were freaked out as they couldn't pinpoint the aura of the light haired vampire. Soon they also fell and the half-Japanese man made himself known. He was right in front of Leo, with a fist planted solidly in his chest. Claws extended and went right across the face of the taller man. A kick made its way right into his stomach.

"You hurt my mate… You will die." The cold voice did not belong to Leo's younger brother, he didn't know what the hell had happened but he didn't like it. He managed to get away by a cheap method, he squirted garlic sauce on the vampire's face and ran.

The super strong smell of the garlic sauce caused Ryo's vampire instincts to recoil. He got his normal senses back and he wiped the sauce off. The dark eyed vampire remembered how badly off Dee was and ran over to him.

"Are you alright koiishi? I know you're not, but is there anything broken?" Dee closed his eyes and did a mental check of his body.

"No… Nothing's broken. But I will need some rest. Can we go ahead and go home?" The light haired man nodded and helped him to their car.

"I should have listened to you Ryo. You were right, they did make a move." Ryo looked at his lover with a mix of sadness and worry.

"No… I was being paranoid like you said. I had no idea if they would make a move or not…" That was a lie, Ryo had known they would make a move, but he didn't want to make Dee feel any worse.

They got back to the apartment and Ryo patched Dee up as best as he could. There bandages around his waist and across his chest, as well as his face. The light haired man made his dark haired lover take some aspirin to take care of the pain.

"You'll heal soon, but these will help the process be a little less painful." The other man nodded and took the aspirin gratefully. He fell into a bit of a fitful sleep, the healing process was a bit uncomfortable even with the aspirin.

Ryo watched as his lover went through the stages of healing, vowing he would kill Leo the next time he saw him. He didn't like anyone hurting what was his, and that was that. He blinked at that thought, but shrugged it off to being his vampire instincts. The midnight eyed man went back to watching his lover and making sure he was comfortable as possible.
