The Great Super Saiyan 5: Disclaimer!

Disclaimer: I don't own DBZ, DBGT, or Xenosaga. I never have and I never will (except one copy of Xenosaga). Happy now?

Kaerlos: When do I get to freak Vegeta out again?

TGSS5: I'll decide that. For now, you get to freak out the Woglinde's crew, and Vegeta, Goku, and Bardock are gonna help you. Okay?

Kaerlos: I guess that'll do... So let's go!

TGSS5: First, the Gnosis are normally immaterial and can normally disobey the laws of physics, but there's an android who can undo both abilities with something called a Hilbert Effect.

Kaerlos: Do I stop it from using that Hilby thing?

TGSS5: It's Hilbert Effect, and wait and find out, resident maniac.

Kaerlos: Yup! That's me! *flashes medal that says Resident Maniac* Let's go now!

TGSS5: Also, this story will mostly follow you, Kaerlos, but it'll switch to other people for the Xenosaga's playables' first impressions and when story dictates. POV changes will be indicated by the following: *~~~~~~~~~~~~*. Now... Hurry up and start the damn thing!

La st chapter ended with:
Things continued in this fashion for several more months, just as it had for the entire 10 years since Kaerlos wished on Earth's regular Dragonballs for the Saiyans and their families to have eternal youth, despite the fact that some people didn't want it. The women had kicked Goku and Vegeta off the planet for not stopping him, and Kaerlos for making the wish. Bardock was just along for the ride. Good thing his other wish was for those same people to be able to breathe in space.

The Arrival

Kaerlos woke up. He couldn't understand why. There was... something wrong... something... different... and... He just couldn't place it. He yawned due to the ship's time- 3:30 a.m.; he was used to getting up at 6- then stood up. He didn't feel like streaking through the ship and getting yelled at AGAIN (he'd streaked a few times before, the first time out of boredom, the rest just to piss the others off... those guys were such prudes!) so he walked to where he'd thrown his clothes the previous 'night', of course since it was always night in space, and put them back on. After he was finished he stumbled out of his room, only to crash into Bardock as soon as he stepped out the door. "Wha's goin' on, Barfock?" he mumbled sleepily.

"I don't know, but we're gonna find out," was the reply; apparently Bardock had excused the mispronounciation of his name. The two ran to the ladder, jumped down, and rushed to the windows. What they saw surprised them, although it didn't scare them.

A large ship was under attack by strange aliens who seemed to be perfectly capable of not only living in space, but also going through the side of the ship without leaving a hole. There seemed to be several kinds of the aliens, too. There were several that were the size of King Cold's ship that looked like translucent purplish whales which fired energy bursts from their sides, and there were some that were probably only a few times the size of an average human or Saiyan, though the Saiyans couldn't see their shape or color from their current position. Various humanoid machines (though they couldn't know the shape) were trying to engage the aliens with little success. All in all, they knew: This wasn't a battle, it was a slaughter.

"Horrible..." whispered the previously-unnoticed Goku from his position a few windows away.

"They aren't warriors, whatever they are. They knew beforehand that their enemies would be helpless, and they attacked anyway?! Cowards!" Vegeta was obviously present, and had obviously had a change of opinion since his arrival on Earth.

"Let's give 'em a good fight, eh, guys?" suggested Kaerlos, the fight lover of the group. (Okay, so they all loved fighting. Kaerlos especially, though.)

"Right!" the other three chorused, all eager to fight, but Vegeta not admitting it. At this answer Kaerlos went to the computer and shut down all systems.

The four Saiyans opened the airlock (by now Kaerlos has told the others about their ability to breath in space, and they've all taught themselves to fly in 0G conditions) and jumped out into space. Goku encapsulated their ship while the others waited. Then the Saiyan wrecking balls turned towards the slaughterfest and flew in to help the apparent underdogs, seeing and being seen by the giant machine suits (and shocking the hell out of the pilots) and the mysterious aliens, which chased them all the way to the ship. They found a hole which seemed to be a docking bay. Upon landing in the dock, they turned around to face eight spindly, yellow, vaguely humanoid aliens with large pods on the bottoms of their torsos.

*"Kakarot, you take the two on the left. Vegeta, you take the two on the right. I got the rest. Bardock, you look for survivors and help them if they need it,"* Kaerlos told the others telepathically. They nodded, Vegeta reluctantly since he hated taking orders, and all four rushed to do their tasks. Bardock ran off down a hallway as the others attacked the translucent enemies.

Kaerlos blocked a clumsy punch, dodged a grab, wondered why the grab was aimed for his head, then fired off a few dozen punches of his own, all of which hit their target: the center left alien's face. It was obvious that this was more than it could take because it exploded after a burst of light. He blocked two more punches, dodged another grab, and kicked at the center survivor, only to watch his leg pass harmlessly through it. He blocked two punches and a laser coming from behind the firer's pod, punched at a random enemy, and missed again.

*"They're phasing!"* Kaerlos informed his allies. That gave him an idea: If they could phase, why couldn't he? He decided the best way would be to focus his ki on shifting into another plane of existence, one still visible to the others. As he blocked and dodged his opponents' attacks, he concentrated on putting his idea into action. Immediately after he began, the impacts from his enemies' attacks began to lessen, and that seemed to mean that it had worked: he had entered their plane of existence! To test his theory, he punched at the left monster, hit, and watched it explode just like the first one. He grinned a predatory grin that made the worst of Vegeta's evil smirks seem downright nice. He had defeated their secret! And with a new technique, at that.

Defeating the other two was child's play after learning to phase: He just smashed what seemed to be their heads together as hard as he could. After informing the others of his discovery, he left to follow Bardock's ki trace, walking through walls when it came from the other side. After a while, he walked through a wall to find Bardock defending an unknown woman.

*~~~~~~~~~~~~*

Shion Uzuki was a bright woman, and capable of fighting on a small scale if necessary, but a Gnosis attack was NOT small scale! So when she had been grabbed by one, she expected to die, either by strangulation or getting hit by an immense force. *I... can't... BREATHE!*

Just as her life started flashing before her eyes, something unexpected happened. Someone kicked the thing's arm, causing it to drop her. She didn't care much about the pain from her landing because she was too busy breathing to notice. She coughed some at first, but that was to be expected. When she could breathe normally, she looked up to see a spiky haired, scar faced man fighting the Gnosis that had attacked her. He wore a sleeveless body suit, leather gloves, yellow-toed boots, and some kind of vest.

She wondered why she felt like she was being watched until she turned and saw a man- or at least the top half- sticking out of the wall beside her, looking at her with a mildly interested expression. On seeing she had noticed him, he stepped out of the wall. He was translucent, he looked to be about 8'4", and he was wearing a red body suit, leather fingerless gloves, red-toed boots, and a padded vest with shoulder pads. He had the look of one woken up too early, but he didn't seem to mind. He also had the gleam of insanity in his eyes. She briefly wondered if he was a Gnosis until he turned completely opaque. He then spoke to the other man in some other language before turning translucent, flying over and delivering a kick to the head of her assailant, which died explosively.

"I may not be necessary after all, if there are fighters of that caliber on this ship... Scanners show a human population of two in this room." Everyone, including the until-recently forgotten Virgil, turned towards the source of the voice. There was what seemed to be a light blue haired, white skinned, red eyed woman wearing a small suit of torso-to-crotch body armor, high heeled boots, black gloves, and a visor standing in a hole in the wall.

Shion recognized her immediately: "KOS-MOS! What activated you?"

The big man surprised both humans present by saying, "So... You're an android, huh? I can tell- I can't sense any ki from you. You better stay away from me until you've proven yourself to be trustworthy to my satisfaction or I'll scrap you."

*~~~~~~~~~~~~*

Kaerlos watched the woman as she stared at Bardock fighting. He sensed two ki's besides him in the room, counting the woman's. He looked at the source of the other unidentified ki and saw a man in some kind of pilot suit sitting against the wall staring at him. This man had what seemed to be a scar from his right cheekbone to his chin. He looked surprised at him for sticking his torso through the wall.

Then Kaerlos turned back to the woman for a better assessment of her features. She had brown hair, brown eyes, and golden skin and was wearing a yellow open-front jacket, some kind of shirt under that (also yellow), a yellow miniskirt with black sides- *What's with the yellow?!* he thought when he saw how much of it she was wearing- and glasses. She seemed to be fairly pretty, in a human way. When he was almost finished with his assessment she turned and looked at him. He decided to let her assess him as he had assessed her. To facilitate this, he stepped fully out of the wall. After a while he phased in since he had found that he couldn't speak while phased. Then he told Bardock, "/Stand back, I'll handle this./" Then he phased out and rushed to kick the thing in the face; it exploded, as usual.

He heard a stoic voice say, "I may not be necessary after all, if there are fighters of that caliber on this ship... Scanners show a human population of two in this room." He looked up to see another woman, this one with light blue hair, white skin, and red eyes and wearing some armor that didn't cover her limbs, high heeled boots, black gloves, and a visor of some sort. It took him a second to figure out why he couldn't sense ki from her.

In that second, the first woman asked the second, "KOS-MOS! What activated you?" The fact that her name sounded like a model identification helped him figure her secret out.

He decided to surprise the seeming humans and try to intimidate this other woman by saying, "So... You're an android, huh? I can tell- I can't sense any ki from you. You better stay away from me until you've proven yourself to be trustworthy to my satisfaction or I'll scrap you." *Of course, that's not saying much- I know I'm untrustworthy. ANYone's more trustworthy than me, even Vegeta.*

The android addressed as KOS-MOS seemed to decide to call his bluff: she walked straight to Kaerlos and stopped right in front of him, as if daring him to attack. "If you are going to attack, attack now."

Kaerlos's answer was just a smirk and the following sentence: "ANYone's more trustworthy than a compulsive!" This drew startled gasps from the humans (he started calling them that after getting tired of calling them pseudo-humans or something similar) and an irritated glare from Bardock.

Suddenly everyone's attention was drawn by someone yelling out, "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! What a rush!" This was followed by Goku breaking through the wall, followed by several of the aliens, then Vegeta and some more aliens.

Kaerlos sighed and said, "What a coupla morons... They've always been this way. 'Don't fight Frieza,' someone told them, so the first thing they do is fight Frieza. They could beat any of them one-on-one or two-on-one, but five-on-one?!" Everyone but the Saiyans, KOS-MOS included, was shocked at the concept of someone even holding his own against one of these aliens, let alone more.

"What? You guys can all beat Gnosis?" the still-unidentified woman asked disbelievingly.

"So THAT's what those things are called... not that I really CARE, but... Well, I'm not too sure about Bardock over there, but the rest of us can," Kaerlos answered. "By the way, in ascending order of strength, our names are Bardock, Vegeta, Kakarot- he prefers Goku... don't know why- and Kaerlos," he continued, pointing each out as he introduced him... despite the fact that two of them were still fighting. "Excuse me, I gotta bail those two out." After saying this he phased out and charged the Gnosis at top speed. No one saw him as he destroyed first one, then another of the aliens, but all saw the results.

"Hey! I was having fun!" Goku complained.

"Hmph. Let me fight my own fights!" Vegeta demanded.

"Shut up, you two! If I hadn'a stepped in you woulda died!" Kaerlos pointed out, in his own way.

"Quit fighting, you guys!" Bardock said.

"Anyway, what're your names? Start introducing when everyone's paying attention," Kaerlos asked. Then he told the other Saiyans, *"Pay attention to these introductions!"*

When everyone was paying attention, the woman said, "The man over there is Lieutenant Virgil, she's KOS-MOS, and I'm Shion Uzuki."

"Better than Briefs," Kaerlos commented. Vegeta bridled at that statement, but held his peace.

Shion asked, "Why do you say that?"

"Because I know a few people with the last name of Briefs. Oddly, most of them are named after underwear," Kaerlos explained.

Shion had noticed Vegeta's reaction and asked, "Why did that 'better than Briefs' comment get Vegeta mad?"

"Because they're his in-laws... and, less directly, mine. Except for the youngest two- they're his kids, and my niece and nephew," Kaerlos replied. "He's normally more violent than this, but he's scared of me. Gee, I wonder why," he finished sarcastically.

Vegeta started swearing in Saiyago. "/God-damn idiot! Go to hell! What the hell do you think you're doing, telling them that?! FUCKING MORON!/" and so on. Kaerlos, Goku, and Bardock raised their eyebrows at his tirade.

"What did he say?" Shion asked.

"You probably don't wanna know. Oooo, I never knew anyone could do THAT!" Goku said.

KOS-MOS summed up what Vegeta was doing: "It appears he is using large amounts of profanity."

*"Shit."* This was broadcast throughout the room. It appeared Kaerlos wasn't paying attention to his telepathy. The truth was that he just felt like saying shit.

"Who was that?" demanded Virgil. Both humans and, surprisingly, KOS-MOS looked for the source of the thought- that is, until they saw Goku and Bardock glaring at Kaerlos. Vegeta would glare, but he was still swearing, though he had switched to Namekian some time ago.

"So you're a telepath?" Shion asked curiously. Kaerlos simply nodded. Shion considered before continuing, "Then what am I thinking?" It seemed her scientific curiosity couldn't be contained.

"It doesn't work that way with general telepathy. You have to project thoughts before I can pick them up," Kaerlos explained.

"Well, then, how do I project?" Shion demanded.

"How should I put this... Think harder. That should do it."

"Think harder? Okay, let's see..." Shion then thought about the same subject as before, only as hard as she could.

"Whoa, tone it down! I said harder, not as hard as you can!" Kaerlos complained. "Oh, and by the way, you can have all the curry you want when we get out of here- I don't think this ship'll last much longer at the rate things are going- the four of us can only do so much. Let's GO! We gotta get you outta here!"

"Very well, I will show you to the escape pods," interjected KOS-MOS. She started walking calmly out a door near where she just came in. Everyone else followed, the humans at a more hurried pace. On the way KOS-MOS said, "I apologize for not evacuating you earlier, Shion. I evacuated all other members of the Science division except for one."

Shion blinked. "Why the exception?"

"Just before Allen got in his pod, a Gnosis attacked him. He is dead."

Shion stumbled to a crying stop at that. She didn't stay there very long, though, because Kaerlos leaned over and picked her up as he walked by. As he walked, showing no effort in carrying her, he made a feeble attempt to calm her: "Relax, there're plenty other guys out there. This Allen guy would probably want you to find someone else since he's gone. Besides, Bardock's lost a lover, too, and he's okay."

Feeble as his attempt may have been, it worked: Shion stopped crying and said, "You're right. Allen would want me to be happy."

Kaerlos stepped to Bardock's side, still walking, and handed Shion to him, saying, "Here, you carry her. What I said was right, but she's not for me, and I don't wanna carry a person I'm not even interested in."

Bardock nodded and put Shion under his arm, holding her by the waist. Shion secretly felt an odd sense of comfort and security from being held by Bardock, though she quickly suppressed it.

When they got to the room that contained the escape pods they saw another human male standing by and typing on a keyboard. This one had greyish hair and a poker face that rivaled Goku's during a serious fight. He was wearing what seemed to be a black space suit, but his helmet was currently off. As they approached him he stopped typing. "What's he doing carrying Shion?" he asked in KOS-MOS' direction.

"Bad news," Kaerlos answered for her. "She nearly went comatose."

"Is this true, KOS-MOS?" the man asked.

KOS-MOS nodded, saying, in her usual toneless voice, "Yes, Commander Cherenkov. It is true."

"By the way, who are these men? They seem to be wearing some kind of alien uniform."

"They are not human. The tall one is named Kaerlos. The short one is named Vegeta." At this Vegeta charged her, but Kaerlos moved into his way and blocked his attack.

"Why are you stopping me, Kaerlos?" Vegeta demanded.

Not a really useful question because the answer was, "I dunno."

"The man with the scar is Bardock. The other man is named Kakarot, nickname Goku."

Goku said, "Actually, Goku is the name I got from the people of the planet I ended up on. Kakarot is just my birth name."

Cherenkov nodded. "I understand, Goku. Unfortunately, we only have one pod left and it can only hold two. I've got a space suit so I don't need it except as something to hold on to. Four of you will have to go down with the ship."

Kaerlos shook his head. "Shion and Virgil get the pod. We can breathe in space. Don't ask how, it's not natural. And don't ask where we got that ability, you wouldn't believe the answer."

The humans nodded despite not being satisfied with his answer. Bardock set Shion down in front of the pod and she and Virgil climbed in. Cherenkov put his helmet on and launched the pod. After the pod was launched and the bay door closed, Kaerlos blasted it back open, to KOS-MOS' and Cherenkov's surprise. Then the six remaining on the ship hurried out the hole and onto the pod, the Saiyans proving that yes, they were capable of breathing in space. Kaerlos shivered a bit on his exit though.

T GSS5: Okay, in this chapter I hinted at the pairings, but one's more subtle than the other.

Kaerlos: I don't get it.

TGSS5: Like I'd say it flat out? You don't get it in the story, so why should you here? Don't worry, if you haven't figured a pairing out yet it'll all be revealed later on...

Kaerlos: Hopefully as in naked women.

TGSS5: Well, the most I'll put in is lime content. I can't do lemons.

Kaerlos: That sucks. I like lemons.

TGSS5: So do I, but that doesn't mean I can write 'em. On second thought, I think I'll try both versions and, if I like the lemon, I'll use it.

Kaerlos: YESSSS! A possible lemon!

TGSS5: Review!
