Fan Fiction / InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Finding the Shards ❯ Chapter One(Oh, how creative...) ( Prologue )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Legend becomes reality...

Kagome was always just a typical Japanese high school girl. Sure, her grand-father is obsessed with ancient myths, the family house is crammed with mystical talismans, and everything around her seems to have a legend attached to it, but none of it mattered to Kagome...until one day.

...girl crosses time to meet boy...

One amazing day, when a hideous, otherworldly creature literally pulls her out of her own world and into Japan’s ancient past, where it seems that more than a few of those dusty old legends are true, and her destiny is linked to one legendary creature in particular.

...and together, they still continue a journey of mystery and adventure.

This is a fanfiction by me, Rin *points at the little black haired with a ponytail on the right side in the back whos is smiling and waving*, and Sango*points at the other who is smiling warmly in the back. She looks a bit like Rin, but not much*. We are best friends along with Kagome and Kikyou, who do not wish to come here, but they still help and pop in from time to time. These are my friends, is the world of Inu-Yasha and Harry Potter when they come together to protect the Magical World. No Naraku, but who will take his place? It's our secret!*All girls giggle and laugh*

INU-YASHA is an out-of-the-ordinary historically fantasy-adventure(with a touch of gothic horror) from the "Queen of romantic Comedy", Rumiko Takahashi, creator of such popular titles as RANMA 1/2, MAISON IKKOKU, LUM*URUSEI YATSURA,
ONE-POUND GOSPEL, and many more.
***********************************************************************< br /> "Kagome, where the ----(Must stay PG13) are you, you wench?!", Inu-Yasha cried as he searched around in the village of Inu-Yasha for her.

"Oh give it a rest Inu-Yasha, she'll come back when she cools down!", Rebecca told him as she patted her Rin on the head who leaned against the fence she sat apon. He growled and she rolled her eyes, twisting Rin's little ponytail in between her two fingers.

"Look at it this way, Sango can't go anyway", Miroku told him as he leaned against the side of the hut Sango hid in with her pet Kirara(pronouced Kilala, people!). He growled again and walked off quickly in the opposite direction, brushing past his older half-brother Sesshô-Maru who was walking towards them all. He narrowed his eyes and pushed him in the shoulder, and Inu-Yasha quickly turned around and held up his balled fists, putting on his angriest face at Sesshô-Maru.

"What do you want!?", he yelled, but Sesshô-Maru just kept going.

"Konnichiwa, Sesshô-Maru-sama!", Rin cried and she bowed for Sessho-Maru as he walked past her, causing Rebecca to fall forward onto her.

"Ack! Ug, yeah, good afternoon Sesshy-chan", she groaned and sighed, Rin's head poking out form under hers, her face plastered with a very annoyed expression.

"Rin not happy with Rebecca!", she pouted and Rebecca sighed and rolled off of her, getting up from her knees.

"Gomen Rin-chan", she told her and followed after Inu-yasha...
"Oi! Inu-Yasha!", Rebecca cried as she chased after the hanyou.

"What now!?", he yelled, and stopped in front of the Goshin-Buku, folding his arms and turning to scowl at her.

"If you love Kagome so much, you wouldn't fight so much as too chase her off!", Rebecca remarked and copied him. He flinched and blushed, turning away to look up at the God-Tree. He blinked and put down his hands, smiling as he looked up in the leaves.

"Hello you two!", he cried and two girls yelped and fell from the branches, falling on top of each other. He smirked as they screamed at each other to get off or let go, he folded his arms again and laughed. Both looked up at him and scowled.

"SHUT UP!", they cried and the birds flew from the treetops. Inu-Yasha rna and cowered behind Rebecca, shaking. (Remember episode Episode 41: Kagura's Dance and Kanna's Mirror? Think that one memorable scene in which Sango flared and Inu-Yasha cowered? We do, one of our favorites, great for blackmail.) Rebecca blinked and rolled her eyes.

"You three can cut it out you know!", she told them with a huff to her voice, keeping her postion as the girls got up and brushed themselves off. Kagome sighed and Kikyou shook her head.

"Can't we go anywhere without you guys all worrying? I like talking better alone than with you guys all evesdropping. And we wanted to leave Sango rest", Kagome told them and started off for the creek nearby.

"Talking about what?", Inu-Yasha asked, fear forgotten.

"How we can share a soul without Lady Riri to help us", Kikyou told him and followed her, leaving them behind...

"Well, Inu-chan, should we go back then?", Rebecca asked as she started walking back towards to village. He sighed and followed, growling and grumbling the whole way. Rebecca smiled and walked down the dirt path, down to Kaede's hut. She pulled back the curtain and saw Kohaku, Sango, Miroku, and Kirara all sitting against the side of the hut, looking up as Rebecca came in.

"Rebekuka-chan!", Sango cried and held out her arms, Rebecca smiling and walking foward and giving her a hug.

"Where is Inu-Yasha?", Miroku asked as she sat down in between him and Sango. She looked up and shrugged, petting the two-tailed cat that had jumped in her lap.

"He was following me", she told him and Kohaku laughed. "Whadd I do now?", Rebecca asked, c*cking her head to the side.

"I still havn't heard you sing yet!", he told her and the Sango groaned.

"I'm gonna have a headache, she sings too loud", she complained and Rebecca rolled her eyes as Miroku slid his arm around Sango's waist and she blushed.

Rebecca sighed and softly began to sing, "... tsuyogaru koto dake shiri-sugite-ita watashi dakedo ano toki kara mayoi wa kieta yo misetai to omou mono ga kitto atte kikasetai kotoba mo takusan aru egao nakigao mo zenbu mite hoshikute matte-iru watashi wa yamete "CHANSU" wo tsukamu yo anata no koto wo omou sore dake de kokoro ga tsuyoku nareru ki ga suru yo hakanai omoi zutto donna toki demo negau yo anata ni todoku you ni to... ", she softly sung and there was a silence. It was broken by a ruffle and something flew in through the curtain. Rebecca screamed and hid in Miroku's kimono.

"WHAT IS THAT?!", Sango cried and Rebecca heard a screech, and looked up.

"IS THAT AN OWL!?", she cried in disbelief as she did indeed look at an owl.

"What is an owl doing here?", Rebecca asked in disbelief and she stood up and held out her arm. The owl flew to her forearm and perched there, making Rebecca giggle.

"What's an owl?", Kohaku asked, trying to hide behind his older sister.

"A bird, Ikuzo pet!", she said, and Kohaku shook his head.

"What's around the thing's leg?", Miroku asked, and Rebecca looked down at the brown owl's foot.

"Dunno", she said simply and unwrapped the paper. It immedently hooted, scaring the others and making Kilala roar and change to her larger form. The bird then flew away, from either freight or what, Rebecca didn't know.

"IKUZO BACK!", she cried, trying to follow the bird from the out of the hut, but Kohaku pulled on the back of her pants, causing her to fall backwards. "OW!", she cried and looked back at him...
Kohaku let go, shrinking back, hoping Rebecca would stop looking at him like that.

"Rebecca, can you read this?", Miroku asked as he looked over Rebecca's shoulder at the writing on the envolope. She looked at it, Sango looking over her shoulder too.

"To Misses mikos Kikyou and Kagome, Sengoku Jidai, Head Hut. Please ask Miss Rebecca to read this for you", she read off, raising an eyebrow.

"Who wants us?", Kagome asked as she pulled back the bamboo curtain, Kikyou looking in next to her.

Rebecca held up the letter, "Someone sent you a letter in English, it says for me to read it to you", she told them and Kagome nodded and pulled back the curtain farther, both of them entering, and sitting cross-legged in front of the five.

"Read it for us then", Kikyou told her, and Rebecca nodded, opening the envolope by breaking the seal of an 'H',and read the letter over once before telling them.

Her eyes opened wide, "Oh my god..."...

"YOU'RE GOING WHERE!?", Inu-Yasha cried, face going red, glowing in the moonlight that streamed through the window.

"Some place outside of Japan, why?", Kikyou told him calmly, cutting up a herb with the silverware Kagome brought for them all everyday from what was now her house officially, for horrible reasons.

"FOR HOW LONG!?", he continued yelling and Kagome rolled her eyes, debating on whether or not she should 'Osuwari' him.

"For just a couple months, and you guys can visit us on weekends", Kagome helped out Kikyou to explain, and she sat down next to her, ready to be shown how to cut these certain herbs.

"MONTHS!", Inu-Yasha exploded, and Kikyou's knife slipped, her thumb being cut open, and her reflexes kicked in and she stuck her thumb in her mouth.

"Go get Rebecca now!", she said through grit teeth to the angry hanyou, taking out her thumb and inspecting the damage. Kagome ripped off a piece of the rag and wrapped it around Kikyou's thumb as a make-shift tourniquet. Inu-Yasha's nose twitched, meaning he did smell the blood, so he quickly ran out the hut, causing the curtain to hang lopsided, but he took no notice.

Kagome giggled, "He loves you too much to let you bleed", she told Kikyou while she gripped her thumb to stop the bleeding.

"Don't worry about me, you know Rebecca might be able to smell the blood", Kikyou told as she smiled up at her incarnation. She was right, Rebecca burst in the door, Inu-Yasha nowhere in sight.

"Who's hurt?!", she cried, sliding across the floor boards to the two. Kikyou held up her other hand, and Rebecca kneeled down next to her, pulling of the cloth, and running a finger down the cut, causing it disappear. Kikyou smiled at when she was done and pulled her into a hug.

"Arigatou, yurien", she told Rebecca and Kagome smiled at her and pushed Rebecca's short auburn hair behind her ear.

"Rebecca, Anata are watashi kiseki no hito", she complimented the younger girl, and Rebecca giggled.

"Watashi wa?", she asked her, and Kagome nodded. The curtain flung open, and Inu-Yasha came running in, panting like a real dog(He is an inu youkai).

"I couldn't-"he stopped at the sight of Rebecca and his ear twitched.

Rebecca frowned at him, "You did this, I know it!", she complained to him as she wriggled from Kikyou's grasp and stood behind Inu-Yasha, pushing him forward. "Apologize, now!", she said firmly, and Kikyou smiled at his confused face.

"I except your silent apology", she told him and kissed him on the nose, Kagome turning around and hugging him around the neck. Inu-Yasha went red from embarassment and Rebecca stopped pushing him, nodded, and turned and walked out the find her 'imuoto'.*

Rebecca walked down the pathway, passing the various villagers who eyed her long black dress that trailed the ground, picking up dust, but not getting any dirt on it.

"RIN!", she called, looking for the yound girl, when there was a scream and Sango ran past, Hiraikotsu in air, ready to wap Miroku on the head, running faster than usually. 'I wonder what he did this time...', she pondered and kept walking, passing the village boys who were staring at Kagome's bike, one of her last links to her past life in the future, besides the well to go to take care of her shrine. She down cast her eyes, hoping her foster family understood, and that she would never lose three people in her life like that. The owl from earlier was back, and it perched on Rebecca's shoulder, her looking up at the creature it stuck out it's foot, hooting. She smiled, and it quickly disappeared, but there was still the fact the something made her happy still. She unwrapped the letter and the owl took off, Rebecca opening the letter, not even bothering to look at the addresse:

Dear Miss Rebecca,

It is asked that Misses Kikyou and Kagome are to tell of their desicion by August the 1st, three days from now. The owl will await the replying letter, and they will be picked up on August 31, to be taken to Hogwarts.

We await the desicion by the third day,
Professor Albus Dumbledore

She folded up the letter, stuffing it in her bag, pondering if he might have known Serenity-khoui...
Rin kept skipping, looking for Rebecca, and passing the dozing kitsune Shippou along the path.

"Nama no naka, mori no naka, kaze no naka, yume no naka. Sesshô-Maru-sama doko ni iru, Jaken-sama o shita naiete? Watashi wa hitori de matchimashou! Sesshô-maru-sama, omodoriou...", she sung and looked up to see Sesshô-Maru looking down at her. She squeaked and bowed to him, standing in front of her savior.

His eyes narrowed, "Rin, we are leaving", he said simply and Rin looked up.

"Oh, hai, Sesshô-Maru-sama!", and she turned around and ran towards the steps leading from the village, Sesshô-Maru following behind her. Unknown to them both, a figure floated in the air above them, clad in a black trench coat and dress, with long flowing black hair. They smiled, showing white teeth, and opened their eyes, showing pure red eyes...
