MAGIC KNIGHTS’ ADVENTURES IN THREE KINGDOMS
Crossover between : Magic Knight Rayearth-Dynasty Warriors NJB : Well, it was quite a ‘late’ update. But the fic must go on. So, without further ado, here’s the next chapter ! Chapter 7 : Gan Ning of The Bells “WOO-HOO !!! Plunder their main camp !!” Gan Ning shouted with full of excitements, ordering his band of pirates to attack. However, suddenly, just when he was running and leading the attack, he heard a yell, “YAAAHH !!” Gan Ning looked above, and he suddenly saw Ling Tong spinning in the air trying to attack him with his nunchaku. It was a good thing that Gan Ning possessed good reflexes, and thus he managed to block Ling Tong’s attack and deflected him back. As Ling Tong landed to the ground, Gan Ning put his sword on his shoulder and said, “Whoa ! Hey… what’s your problem, man ?” “Do you think you can escape the son of the man you just killed !?” Ling Tong said in a rage, and he quickly re-brandished his nunchaku and continued, “Not even the chaos in this land can hide you from my rage !” Gan Ning could feel his intense will to fight, and he said, preparing his blade, “Oh, so you want a piece of Gan Ning ? OK, now come and get it !” Ling Tong rushed and swung his nunchaku to Gan Ning several times, but Gan Ning was way more experienced and he blocked almost all his attacks. And then it’s Gan Ning’s turn. Gan Ning swung his sword several times to Ling Tong, but he could dodge them pretty good. After quite a long fight, they’re still even. Until at one time, Ling Tong’s attack left him vulnerable, and Gan Ning was about to slash his ribs. However, he sensed another presence and instead moved his sword behind and instead it blocked an attack from behind and deflected it. The attacker was none other than Hikaru. “Out of my way, little girl !” Gan Ning tried to scare Hikaru, but it wasn’t enough. “I’m not gonna let you harm Tong !” Hikaru exclaimed with full of determination, but instead Ling Tong was getting disappointed and he said, “What are you doing, Hikaru !? Don’t get yourself involved !” “Sorry, Tong… But if what Yu said about Gan Ning is true, then you… you’ll get hurt.” Hikaru tried to explain him, but Ling Tong shrugged her off and said, “This bastard killed my father ! I must have my vengeance !!” “Well… at least let me test my strength on him, okay ?” Hikaru pleaded again. On the other hand, seeing that Gan Ning was now fighting 2 people, his troops tried to strike, but Gan Ning prevented their advance and said, “Not now, guys ! You better watch the fact that two on ones won’t work against The Great Gan Ning !” With that exclamation, Gan Ning took on both Hikaru and Ling Tong. As he said, even with both of their powers combined, Gan Ning couldn’t be taken down easily. Eventually, Hikaru clashed her sword with Gan Ning’s and both were caught in a weapon lock. “For a little girl, you’re both strong and cute.” Gan Ning commented, and Hikaru couldn’t help but comment as well, “Yea, and the rumors about you is quite true.” “Yea, well, even though we’re enemies,” Gan Ning continued, “I don’t know if I should kill you or kiss you !” “What did you say !?” Hikaru said in an annoyance, and Gan Ning laughed. But, he somehow lessen his power, and Hikaru managed to deflect him back and took a distance. “Better take back those words !! RUBY LIGHTNING !!” Hikaru launched her Ruby Lightning spell and aimed for Gan Ning. He was shocked to see such spell, but his instincts managed to save him as he could dodge the spell. However, he was hit a little on his shoulder, and even that caused quite a burnt wound. “Not bad ! Not bad !” Gan Ning laughed, but he prepared his sword forward, “But now I’m getting angry !!” In a sudden speed, Gan Ning ran to Hikaru with his sword forward. She barely dodged it, but Gan Ning ran to a tree. However, as he ran, his sword cut down the whole tree while his running speed didn’t decline. ‘What power…! He’s… he’s far stronger than I thought…!’ Hikaru thought, in an awe. However, her thought was cut when Ling Tong warned her, “HIKARU !! BEHIND YOU !!” When Hikaru looked behind, Gan Ning was already running to her, trying to attack her. Thanks to her reflexes, she managed to jump sideways to dodge, but she was hit a little on her hip. But even though it was just a little hit, the force that was given to her was very powerful that it sent her flying and spinning to the air before she fell to the ground. And her hip received an extreme pain. “Ouch…! No, I can still go on !” Hikaru tried to brave herself and stand up. But, suddenly Gan Ning ran to her once more and leapt, trying to impale her with his sword, and he said, “So it’ll be a kill, not a kiss, cutie ! See ya !!” ‘No…!!’ Hikaru closed her eyes in horror, as there’s no way she could dodge or block this attack. She has lost… But, suddenly, Ling Tong stood in front of her and kicked Gan Ning on his stomach, knocking him away. “Thanks, Tong…” Hikaru said as she got up, but Ling Tong’s response to her was, “Leave, Hikaru. This is my fight.” “Eh !? But… what if you get…” Hikaru protested, but Ling Tong stayed with his opinion and said, “I don’t care if I have to die. I must avenge my father !” “I can’t let you die like that !” Hikaru insisted, as she prepared her sword. ‘Man, looks like I need something else to get her outta here !’ Ling Tong thought hard, but he then remembered the briefing. He then said, “Remember your mission from Zhou Yu ! You still have that to do !” “But…!” Hikaru tried to insist, and to ease her, Ling Tong said, “Okay, okay. I’ll try to stay alive. Just leave Gan Ning to me and take down their main fleet !” Hikaru, glad to hear that Ling Tong wasn’t about to throw his life away that easily, got up and started to leave. “Be careful, Tong !” Hikaru warned Ling Tong as she headed south. Ling Tong nodded as he faced Gan Ning once more. “Hey, where’s that little girl go ? Scared with me ?” Gan Ning asked, and taunted. Ling Tong just answered coldly, “She’s out for another important mission. But, now… nothing can stop me from killing you !” “Ha ! That’s what you think ! Now the real battle begins !” Gan Ning said and prepared his sword as Ling Tong prepared his nunchaku as well. xxxx As Hikaru arrived in the enemy’s main fleet, she was a little late. Sun Quan and Sun Shang Xiang was already there, engaging with the enemy and luring them out of their main boat. “I’m here, guys !” Hikaru exclaimed, running to them and slashing some soldiers on the way. The siblings looked at him and their face formed a relieved expression. “There you are !” Sun Quan replied, followed by Sun Shang Xiang, “Hikaru, you’re late !” Then, they both continued to slash and lure the enemy troops. Soon after, the troops on the main ship were already empty. “So, everyone are already out of the main ship, huh ?” Hikaru asked and Sun Shang Xiang nodded. Hikaru smiled with determination and said, “Good. Now where’s the gunpowder ?” “It’s on the pillar over there.” Sun Quan pointed straight forward and pointed to a jar full of gunpowder. Hikaru nodded and exclaimed to the Wu troops, “All right, guys ! Stand back !” Under Hikaru’s commands, the Wu soldiers stayed away from the line between Hikaru and the gunpowder. She then began to move her arm forward and prepared a spell… “FLAME ARROWS !!” Launching her Flame Arrows spell, Hikaru burned the gunpowder, and it exploded. As a part of the explosion, the ship began to burn, leaving the fleet only to consist minor small ships. “Wow ! You’re really something, you know !” Sun Shang Xiang praised Hikaru as she smiled happily. Unknown to her, some lesser soldiers became reckless and sailed forth with those small ships. In shock, Hikaru shouted, “They’re getting away !” “Don’t mind them.” Sun Quan said, preventing her to pursue them, “With this kind of fleet, they’ll be no match of Zhou Yu’s units. I’d say we join brother’s attack on Huang Zu’s camp now.” Both girls nodded and they moved to the enemy’s main camp… xxxx Back in the Wu main camp, Xiao Qiao ran to Zhou Yu, after observing the sea. “Zhou Yu ! Here comes the enemy !” she exclaimed, and Zhou Yu asked, “Hmm how many ships do they have there ?” “Um… not much ! Plus they’re just small ships ! No biggie !” Xiao Qiao answered. Zhou Yu nodded and smiled, “Looks like my plan worked… All right, Xiao. This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. We’ll strike them when they arrive !” As Zhou Yu predicted, the enemy fleet came in small numbers, and Zhou Yu and Xiao Qiao made a short work of them. As the fight ended, Xiao Qiao sighed and said, “This is boring ! I want more !” “Well, you’ll receive what you wished soon…” Zhou Yu said with a smile. He then turned to his remaining units, raised his sword and said, “All units, full assault ! Eliminate Huang Zu !!” The soldiers shouted in agreement and marched forward. Xiao Qiao once again came to Zhou Yu and asked, “Wow. So this is gonna be one big fun battle ?” “Of course. Enjoy it if you like.” Zhou Yu responded. Happily, Xiao Qiao jumped and exclaimed, “Yay ! Zhou Yu, you’re so cool !” Zhou Yu just smiled in return and together with Xiao Qiao, they marched forward. xxxx Huang Zu’s main camp was located in a small valley between two hills. Taishi Ci was already located there, waiting with his troops. “Now we wait for Lord Sun Ce’s signal… and then we strike.” Taishi Ci said to his troops, commanding them not to move. He then turned to one of his soldiers, “You get to the other side and wait for Lord Sun Ce, then tell him that we’re ready. After that, blow a horn and we will strike.” “Yes sir !” The soldier bowed and headed to the other hill. In there, when he arrived, Sun Ce was already there. “So, Taishi Ci’s ready, huh ?” Sun Ce said as the messenger told him the message. “All right ! Begin the pincer now !” Sun Ce commanded as the soldier blew a horn. In the other side, Taishi Ci heard the horn blow and nodded. He then commanded his men, “The time is now ! Move out !” Sun Ce and Taishi Ci’s troops started the pincer attack. Their troops broke through the enemy soldiers and approach the main camp fast. In Huang Zu’s camp, a messenger came to him. “My lord ! Our main ship has been burned and drowned before it even moves !” “WHAT !?” Huang Zu roared in anger. He stood up and drew his sword, and said, “This must be the work of that lout Gan Ning ! Call him back here ! While we wait, we’ll strike the attacking enemy !” xxxx Meanwhile, the fight between Gan Ning and Ling Tong was getting even fiercer, and they were still in a draw. “Still wanna fight, huh ?” Gan Ning beckoned. Ling Tong spatted on the ground and said, “I’ll still fight until I kill you !” Just then, a messenger came to Gan Ning, and said, “Lord Gan Ning, please return. Lord Huang Zu requires your presence.” Hearing this, Gan Ning scowled and said, “Argh ! Now what !? I’m in a middle of a good fight !” “… Oh well. Looks like the duel… will have to wait ! See ya !” Gan Ning said as he retreated from the battlefield. “You won’t escape me…!” Ling Tong roared in rage, but with his current stamina, it was impossible to catch up with Gan Ning. But he didn’t falter and continued to run after him… xxxx Breaking through the enemy lines, Sun Ce and Taishi Ci drew close to Huang Zu’s unit. Looking at the man who killed his father, Sun Ce let out a roar, “Huang Zu !! Now face the wrath of the son of Sun Jian !!” Sun Ce then drew his tonfas and attacked Huang Zu head on. His attacks were very fierce, that Huang Zu couldn’t completely dodge them all. But, eventually, Huang Zu managed to deflect Sun Ce back and said, “Ha ! I’m not stupid enough to not place a trap here ! Move, guys !” Huang Zu snapped his finger and a lot of soldiers appeared from their hiding place, surrounding both Sun Ce and Taishi Ci. “This is not enough to stop me, or even Lord Sun Ce. Are you joking ?” Taishi Ci taunted Huang Zu, but Sun Ce cut him in and said, “Whatever ! Let’s kick their butts and kick Huang Zu’s next !” Both was caught into a two-on-many skirmish, and Huang Zu just watched from far away. As the fight ensued, Taishi Ci heard a sound of bells. “Bell ? That means…!” Taishi Ci realized what happened, and it’s a good thing he’s not too late. Soon he heard someone yelling, “OUTTA MY WAY !!” Standing in front of Sun Ce, Taishi Ci covered him from an attack… coming from Gan Ning. Both entered a weapon lock, but Taishi Ci skillfully managed to shove Gan Ning to the other side, bringing him to Huang Zu’s side. “Hey, that’s not so bad at all !” Gan Ning complimented at Taishi Ci, but suddenly Huang Zu roared, “Gan Ning !! What the hell have you done, you scum !?” “Huh ? What did I do ?” Gan Ning asked without any clue, and Huang Zu shouted, “You burned our main fleet in purpose, right !?” “Wait a minute, I didn’t…!” Gan Ning tried to defend himself, but Huang Zu didn’t give him time to talk, “I knew it ! I knew I could never trust you ! You damn scum !!” Gan Ning hung his head. He was damn angry… This Huang Zu did nothing but sit back in the camp, relaxing, while he risked his own pants to survive in the battlefield for Huang Zu… But, this is what he got… miserable treatment. Gan Ning then spat to the ground and said, “If that’s the way you want it, fine ! That’s the way you’ll get it !” Gan Ning then turned his attention to Sun Ce and Taishi Ci, who have completely finished Huang Zu’s ambush party. He then said, “Hey, Sun Ce. You got any more open slots in your army ? I want to join you !” Hearing that, Sun Ce felt really good. He nodded and said, “Of course. The Kingdom of Wu will grow even more powerful with you on our side, Gan Ning !” Knowing that Gan Ning defected, Huang Zu was shocked and he tried to plead, “Are you… serious about this Gan Ning !? Without you…” “Too late for regrets, idiot !” Gan Ning said to Huang Zu, in a mocking tone, “From this day forward, I QUIT !! Now my master is Sun Ce !” “Why you…!” Huang Zu growled, but he let his guard down, and didn’t realize Sun Ce already moved in front of him, and yelled, “HOW ABOUT THIS !!” With that, Sun Ce delivered a punch with his tonfa to Huang Zu. The punch was quite powerful that it sent him to the wall, and his head hit it hard, killing him in process. Sun Ce stood in front of his corpse and said, “All right, it’s done. Pop, I sent your assassin to heaven as well. Now do whatever you want on him…” Soon after, Zhou Yu, Xiao Qiao, Hikaru, Sun Shang Xiang, Sun Quan and Ling Tong came to the main camp, and approached Sun Ce. “Sun Ce, how is it going ?” Zhou Yu asked. Sun Ce nodded and said, “Yep. We won !” “ALL RIGHT !!” Everyone exclaimed happily. Xiao Qiao instantly jumped and hugged Zhou Yu happily. Hikaru and Sun Shang Xiang gave high fives at each other, and then Hikaru looked at Sun Ce with a smile, and said, “Ce, I did it…” Sun Ce laughed and said, “You did pretty good, Hikaru ! I’m glad that I have you with me !” Sun Quan and Ling Tong just nodded their heads. But, suddenly, when Ling Tong saw Gan Ning standing there, rage entered his mind once more and he prepared his nunchaku and charged, yelling, “This battle is not over ! Prepare to die, you bastard !!” However, before Ling Tong could even get close to Gan Ning, Taishi Ci held him back, restraining him. “Wait, Ling Tong. Gan Ning has defected and he’s one of our friends now !” “What did you just say !?” Ling Tong shouted in disbelief, “He killed my father !” “Enough, Ling Tong ! Lemme tell ya the story.” Sun Ce said, “He killed your father because Huang Zu told him to. And this Huang Zu was treating him miserably. He couldn’t take it so he volunteered himself to join us. You do know that he’s powerful, right ?” “But…” Ling Tong tried to protest more, but Sun Ce made his words clear, “And I want you not to harm Gan Ning at any costs ! Period !” “Urgh…” Ling Tong scowled and he moved away. Hikaru tried to stop him and said, “Tong, where are you going ?” “Leave me alone.” Ling Tong answered coldly, and Hikaru was getting worried. “Don’t tell me you’re…!” she said, in an extreme worried voice, but Ling Tong just said, “I just need some fresh air…” As Ling Tong left the scene, Hikaru just stood there, looking worried. “They’re now friends… but why to they have to hate each other…?” Hikaru mumbled, but Gan Ning overheard it and said, “Hey ! I don’t hate him, you know ! I don’t have any other feelings on him other than he’s now one of my teammates, and that’s it !” Sun Ce, knowing Hikaru’s worries, approached her from behind and circled his arm around her, trying to soothe her mind. He said, “Don’t mind him for now, Hikaru. You know, I was sorta like that when pop died.” “Really ? So… he’ll be just all right ?” Hikaru tried to make sure, and Sun Ce answered, “Yeah. He just needs time to get over with his father’s death, and we should respect his feelings.” Hikaru let out a relieved sigh and said, “I’m glad to hear that.” Sun Ce smiled and said to his army, “All right, time to return to Jian Ye, guys !” The Wu army moved out as Zhou Yu went to get Ling Tong and make him march back home. Before Sun Ce departed with Hikaru, he approached Gan Ning and offered his hand, saying, “All right, Gan Ning. Welcome to the Wu Kingdom !” Gan Ning smirked in return and also offered his hand. Both Sun Ce and Gan Ning shook hands before they and Hikaru marched away from Xia Kou… However, Hikaru’s quest was far from over… xxxx
