Disclaimer for the lazy: don't own Pokémon. That is all. (oh, and I don't own WacDonalds either. That was in Inuyasha! ^_^ So I don't think anyone owns it. But if they do… I don't own WacDonalds!)

Note that MA=Moving Ahead. That is all (again!)
I call the money in Kanto Pokébucks. That is all, yet again.
Ok, I don't know Misty's exact age either, so I estimated it was about 16 now. That is all, again.

The Timetravelers: MA
Part Two: Fun in the Mall (and other places)

May 20th, 1999
Cerulean City, 10 a.m.

Ash, Mk and Giovanni then had no clue where they were going. *Anime falls*

"How about we go back to Misty's house and ask her mom where we could get some clothes?" Ash suggested while letting Pikachu out of its pokéball for a while. Pikachu shook when it came out, still not used to the pokéball.

"Sounds like a plan to me!" Mk said. So she drove back to Misty's house. Now she was on the couch, staring off into space. She had her hair down and she wore what looked like a brand-new outfit: a pair of dark blue flares and a white shirt with a Pikachu on a surfboard on it. Her hair was down today. When everyone came in, she smiled.

"Hey Ash! Nice to see you!"

"I actually remembered your birthday!" Ash said (very proudly) and then pulled out the box from his pocket. Misty's eyes lit up when she saw that she had gotten a present from Ash. Aww! She opened the little box to see that it was a cute little necklace. The necklace was gold, and it had a Marill holding a little ruby heart. It was adorable!

"Thank you! It's so nice!" Then she got up and hugged him. You could tell Ash was enjoying every minute of it. [^_~]

"So we're going to the mall. Wanna come?" he asked.

"Sure! Just a sec." She ran upstairs and came down a minute later with a purse. "Let's go! I have birthday money to spend!"

They all got in Mk's car and drove to the mall, Misty giving her directions. The mall they went to was huge. There had to be tons of stores there. They all were in the main area, wondering where to go. Then Misty suggested that they all should follow her and then if they needed to go somewhere, they'd all go there. It was a good plan, so they were all for it.

The first store they went to was a store called Jingles and Jangles. There was tons of jewelry in this store. Mk and Misty went in and the guys watched from the outside, not wanting to go in.

"Does this look cute?" Misty asked, holding a Seel necklace.

"It's adorable! You should buy it. How about this?" Mk was holding a Pikachu anklet.

"Aww! It's cute!" And so on and so forth for about ten minutes. The guys were getting impatient while the girls were shopping in there. But then they went to the Superstore. It was like your Target or Wal-mart in the US, so that's where Ash got most of his new, normal clothes.

Misty was smiling and holding up a pair of black pants made of a light material. "How about these?"

"Ok." Ash wasn't picky when it came to clothes, as long as he was wearing something other than a suit. He got seven pairs of pants [1] and some shirts. Misty bought some new jeans, and Mk found a Pikachu t-shirt with it in front of a birthday cake. She also bought some socks. Everyone spent a ton of money in there. Then Ash changed into a new outfit, and he suddenly looked like his age… which should be about almost fourteen, if my estimations are correct.

Next was Daisy's Clothes Store, not run by Misty's sister Daisy. They had nice designer clothes for half the price, or sometimes less. The guys sat out again. Misty had found a nice purple dress that would have been expensive for about twenty Pokébucks. Mk didn't buy anything this time.

After that, it was lunchtime, and you know what that means: WacDonalds! They all sat down at a table and ate the good fast food.

"Ahh… the hamburgers are as good as ever…" Giovanni said. "And the last time I had one was about two months ago!" *If you want: Anime falls*

Ash ate two cheeseburgers and some fries, Mk had a double cheeseburger, and Misty had chicken nuggets. (How am I supposed to know what Misty would eat at WacDonalds?)

Then, they all had some fun at one of those pocket-change places. There was barley anyone around because most people were in school now, but there were a couple of kids. Everyone had some pocket change, so they started playing!

"A-ha! Beat this!" Ash was winning against Misty in air hockey. She then hit the puck and scored against Ash, who then started pouting like a little boy. Then he scored against her twice, and by the time the game was over, the score was 5-2 in Ash's favor.

"I win!" he said. Misty just sighed and moved on to another game. Air hockey wasn't her specialty anyway.

Meanwhile, Mk was testing her normal reflexes at one of those games where they have the blinking lights in a circle, and if you land the light just right, you get the jackpot. And she wasn't doing as well as she wanted to.

"Darnit! Missed by a hair!" she yelled. Then Ash put in a quarter and tried. He was lucky and got the jackpot, which were 352 tickets. Mk cussed.

"Aw, don't feel bad, Ash is just lucky," Misty said. Still upset, Mk put in another quarter and tried again.

"I have to agree with you. At times, Ash is just plain lucky," she replied.

"It's not luck; it's skill!" Ash yelled while folding up the tickets that he had won. That comment made Misty and Mk laugh. Giovanni was passing by, and he wondered about that.

"Then how about me winning 400 tickets in one shot?" he said, holding out a bundle of them.

"No way! You're lucky," Ash said. Then they decided that they needed to cash in all their tickets and leave. They all decided to combine, and they had 1000 tickets. That's pretty amazing.

"What should we get?" Mk asked.

"I know! There's a big teddy bear there!" Misty suggested.

"No way! We can't split that!" Ash complained.

"Yes we can! I'll keep it Monday, you can have it Tuesday…" In the end, they decided to keep the tickets and cash them in later for something big.

Then they hit another clothes store, where Ash got more shirts. Then they were free to go, since they had accomplished their original mission: Get Ash clothes!

By now it was about three p.m. They all went back to the apartment to drop off their stuff, then went to Misty's house. She was surprised to see a party set up for her. Balloons were everywhere. Presents were on an old table, along with a cake with sixteen candles on it. There were some of Misty's friends there, and of course, Misty's sisters.

"Wow, is this all for me?" she asked.

"Uh, duh! Whom else could it be for?" Lily said, dragging her towards the presents. "Like, open them before I go nuts!"

All of Misty's friends were staring at Ash strangely. He backed away from them, afraid that they were going to do something like mob him or chase him around like crazed fan girls.

"Hey Misty! Who's the cute boy?" one asked, getting up close to him. He quickly backed away before she could do any damage. All of the girls around him were making him nervous. Yes, he wanted fans, but not ones that got this close.

"Not yours," she said, glaring. Then she opened her presents. She got some new clothes, a bracelet, and… a pink teddy bear?

"It was sooo cute!" Lily said. "I, like, HAD to get it for you!"

Misty thanked everyone, and then Rachael went to get some ice cream for the cake. When she came back, she lit the candles and Misty blew them out. As for what she wished for, I don't know.

Next, they all decided to go to the Cerulean Gym, just to have a little fun. Misty's friends decided to follow them, mainly because they thought that Ash was awesome… and cute! Naturally, Ash was edgy. The girls were all over him.

But that wasn't the only thing that was making him edgy…

Giovanni was taking off his shirt in the men's locker room. "Why are you so nervous?"

"Do I take off my bandages?" he asked.

"Yah. I think your back should look ok. Take a look. Nothing can be THAT bad to make you nervous." He knew that Ash had been "injured" lately, but he didn't know by what.

Ash had to bend behind him some to figure out where the end of the bandage was. Soon he found it and slowly took it off. He couldn't tell how it looked, but Giovanni could.

"How is it?" Ash said. "Can you tell that I've been injured lately?"

"Err… Yah." He pointed to the mirror in the corner. "Look."

He did. All of his back was red, and there was cuts and lashes and everything from the whip, and it hurt more now for some reason. But that wasn't all. For the first time, he saw the rose that Mk was talking about. It was there all right, sitting on his upper right shoulder blade. The mark didn't look too bad either. If it weren't for the fact that it read "Celedon" under it, he wouldn't have minded it being there at all.

"Do you think they'd notice?"

"Err… yah." Giovanni looked at his back, scarred. "Something like that will draw attention to you. And what in the world HAPPENED!? What could do that kind of damage?"

"Whip." That was the simplest answer to the question.

"WHIP? Who? Why?" Giovanni looked at him, even more scarred.

Ash couldn't say any more, still too scarred to say anything. "Er… maybe I'll tell you later. Just not now. You can call it a punishement of sorts." Then he went for his shirt. There was no way he was swimming with his back like that. That is, if he could take the water to his back. If there was chlorine in it, he might be even sorer than he was already.

"Well, now it's official: The Celedons are a bunch of barbarians," Giovanni said. "I can't believe that a boy like you would get punished like that. You're too nice to deserve anything like that."

"Well, my cousin said I had bad manners," Ash said, moving to the pool area.

They all got into their swimming suits and dived into the pool. Mk didn't swim, but she decided to be a lifeguard. Ash also took a rain check on the swimming; he was too afraid of the water and his cuts. Mk had some fun taking people who broke the rules and throwing them in the pool again. All of Misty's friends were also all over Pikachu. Ash barley got Pikachu out of the pool in time to prevent everyone from getting shocked. Then they had to get out so Misty's sisters could do their show. Then they all went back home, tired from the day.

But they found trouble first… see part three! [sorry, no room here. Besides, it works better there]

The other disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon. I don't think that the Pokémon writers would ever have Ash live in Cerulean City. And I don't think they'd ever have him playing air hockey. What a shame. u.u

Note:
[1] None of them were slacks. He still had the pair from the mansion that he was wearing

Man, they should tell us how old Brock and Misty are. That would be nice!
Speaking of questioning age, here's a question for you:
Then Ash changed into a new outfit, and he suddenly looked like his age… which should be about almost fourteen, if my estimations are correct.
But then why is as tall as a ten year old? Really, he's at least twelve, and he should be thirteen by the end of the Hoenn adventures! Maybe he's super-short or something. Or they're lying about May's age… I always thought she was about twelve when I saw the Japanese episodes (but then again, I was watching them ON TV, with no subtitles…)
