Christmas on Monster Island

(Author's Notes: Hi, folks! Listen, my finals are almost up and also Christmas is coming up!

Darien: So, any of you out there, if you know some folks that would love to be in a fanfic, especially this one, invite them to join! The more, the merrier!

Now, on with the fanfic!)

Chapter 2

It was December 13, 2003. It has been at least a year or so since Yugi returned from the world of Sin Lau (Check out Yugi: King of Sin Lau?! to know). He and Tea had become real close, Tea proving to Yugi that her love for him held no bounds! Vice-versa too. They hadn't become the only couple, you know. Serenity and Tristen hooked up some time ago, Ishizu with Seto, Rebecca with Mokuba, Ryou with a young lady named Isabella, Duke with one of his cheerleader girls Pamela, and Joey with Mai. Right now, they were at the Game Shop chilling out and having a good time.

Yugi and Mai were dueling the good old-fashioned way, and the game was close to finishing. "Yugi, I play Harpy's Pet Dragon in Attack mode. I also play the Magic card, Poison of the Old Man!", Mai declared. She used the one of the card's effects; and that was to inflict 800 points of Direct Damage to Yugi's Life Points. Now, the fifteen-year old was down to only 50 Life Points.

Yugi smiled and said, "Good move, Mai. But, now… I activate the Trap Card, Dragon Capture Jar!". He flipped over his face-down card to reveal the card. Mai was now worried, because her monster was now in defense mode and it was only 2000 points.

Yugi had his Thunder Nyan Nyan monster card out, and his earlier Magic Cards, Electro-Whip and Banner of Courage, made it slightly stronger then her monster. Its stats was now 2400/1300! Yugi special summoned a monster called Soul of Purity and Light, by removing from his Graveyard; the Forgiving Maiden and Bio Mage.

"Soul of Purity and Light decreases the Attack of all monsters on my opponents side of the field by 300 points. Now, I have Thunder Nyan Nyan attack you Pet Dragon.", the Game Master declared. Mai smiled sadly as she put her second favorite monster in her Graveyard.

"Now, I have Soul of Purity and Light attack you directly. Game over, I win.", he finished. Mai had lost the duel, but wasn't bitter about it.

"Good work, Yugi. That's twice you beat me.", Mai told him as they shook hands. Yugi grinned at this.

Mai added, "Even without Yami fused with you, you still got the moves!". The aforementioned Pharaoh grinned proudly from behind Yugi. "Thanks Mai. It looks like you have become much more better too.", Yugi said.

Mai smirked and said, "I know. Its cool on how far I've come.". Just then, a flash of blue light materialized in front of them! A yelp from the girls and a choked gasp from the boys showed that they were surprised. A small portal formed, a small letter sailed forth from it. As soon as it left, the portal disappeared.

The letter landed perfectly on the coffee table. Yugi uncovered his eyes and looked at the piece of paper. "Hmm. I wonder who its from.", he said as he picked the letter up. He tore it open and pulled out a slip of paper. The others gathered around him to hear on what it said.

Dear Yugi and Co.,

It is I, DJ Rodriguez.

I have come to invite you and the rest to enjoy a week here on Monster Island, for both Christmas Eve and Day. Bring any and all family members/relatives as you please. I welcome all of you with open arms and cheer!

Please respond before 12/18, or failure to do that will mean that you refuse. If that be the case, I understand. Take care, and Merry Christmas!

Yugi and the rest were defiantly surprised by this turn of events! "Wow! DJ is inviting us over for a Christmas party!", Joey exclaimed. It has been awhile since any of them had heard from him.

Solomon then came in, carrying a tray of chocolate chip cookies. "What is this I hear?", he asked. Yugi handed him the letter, and Solomon's eyes widened in surprise. "Yugi, who is DJ Rodriguez?", he asked.

Yugi explained on how some time ago, he and the others helped DJ in a gigantic battle in another world/universe/dimension! "How about it, Grandpa? Can we go?!", he asked excitedly.

Solomon stroked his chin thinking, he then smiled and nodded. "Sure. Why not? Besides, I like to meet him myself!", he said. Yugi whooped for joy, as did Joey and Tristen.

"Well, we better write back and tell him.", Seto said. They all agreed with him, and Yugi went right to work for making that letter.

~On Monster Island~

DJ and Darien were in the Portal Room, tossing in the invites to various dimensions and universes. Pamela and Harly helped them. "So, how many people did you invite?", Pamela asked. DJ smirked and replied, "Enough to fill the contenent of Asia!!".

All of their mouths dropped to the floor at that. DJ chuckled and reassured them that it was okay. "You know as well that I have enough room here on the island and in the mansion. This place could house both Asia and North America!", he told them. They smiled and continued to toss in letters.

'DJ is really psyched up about this. Its kinda nice to see him excited about Christmas.', Darien thought as he saw his friend's cheerful and excited face.

DJ thought, 'I bet that others in my real reality world would love to be here and enjoy the characters that would be coming!'. Just then, an idea came to mind. "Can you guys continue on here? I need to do something for a moment.", he told them.

Before they could reply, he ran like the wind out of that room! Harley was slightly concerned. "I wonder what is he planning to do?", she asked. Pamela shrugged, not knowing anything.

However, Darien had a small smirk on his face. "With DJ, you never know.", he told them before going back to tossing invites.

DJ ran to his room, shut the door, and started to write to some people. "Man, this is going to be good!", he said to himself as he wrote away. Things were going to heat up soon, and it wasn't even near Christmas yet!
