Christmas Angel

Author's Note: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! Or MegaMan X characters. I do own Nicole Omega, Zackery Omega, Venessa Light, Jasmine O'Colonel, and anything else I can think of.

It was Christmas Eve and everyone decided to have a Christmas party and exchange gifts before Christmas, one last get together before they spent the day with their families. Everyone that is, except for Yugi Motou.

Yugi laid in his bed, wrapped in blankets and fighting off a sneeze for the last two minutes. He had a bad cold for awhile now and he didn't have much energy to move around the house, let alone go to the party. Yami wanted to stay, but Yugi insisted that he go and have fun. After all, the tri-color hikari knew where he wasn't wanted.

A few years ago, Yugi had told Tea of his crush on her and asked her out. She looked at him for a few minutes as if he grew another head right in front of her before she gave him a horrid glare and told him right then and there how she felt about him. She hated him ever since Yami made his appearance know and seen Yugi as nothing more but a mere annoying child, a lost puppy that follows her everywhere and grinds on her nerves. She also blamed him for her reputation being ruined, as it were, she use to hang out with the rich snob girls until she met Yugi. The only reason she hanged out with him anymore was so she can have a chance at Yami, whom she was totally obsessed with.

He was pretty sure had it not been for Nicole and Duke Devlin coming up to them when Tea made her horrid confession, to put it mildly, he was sure he would've done something to himself. He had to admit, Nicole did had a good right hook that left Tea with a nice shiner for two weeks (she got detention for it afterwards, but she didn't care).

He was grateful that both promise to remain silent on this, although both wanted to make Tea pay for what she did, and so far, no one knows about it. Even after a few years, it still hurts to be around her, seeing her flirt with Yami, even seeing her giving him dark glares when others weren't looking.

So he remained at home, in bed, all alone. As he was about to fall asleep, he remembered that they were playing secret Santa at the party this year. His present to Nicole was sitting on his desk.

Everyone was having fun at the Christmas Bash at Tea's house. While the adults were busy with their own party, the teenagers were inside the pool house. Everyone was passing out gifts they bought for each other and their Secret person for Secret Santa. At the moment, Tea was passing out cookies, Yami was dueling Seto at the moment, Ryou was still thanking Bakura for his present while Venessa was thanking Muokuba for hers, Jasmine was cuddling with Duke, Joey trying to put on the special dog tags (Military kinds) that Seto made especially for him, Malik and Yami Malik (I'll explain later on in my "Yu-Gi-Oh! Guardians of the Shadow Power" how he got back) were busy trying to find a good movie along with Tristen and Mai. Anyone else that they couldn't recognized were all friends of Tea's or friends of those that tagged along.

Nicole was looking about for Yugi, holding her present in her arms. She didn't know what to get him for Christmas, seeing that she was his secret Santa, so she crotchet a blanket for him. She had to get lessons from her mom on the how to's, for she had placed special designs on it. It wasn't much but she felt he liked it. Yami was the only one who saw it and said he would love it.

"Hey Yami," Nicole asked, nudging him so she would get it attention, "Where's Yugi?"

"He's at home sick," was the reply before he played his turn.

"And who's home taking care of him," she asked, getting a wicked idea as she placed her mouth closer to his ear.

"No one."

"Then," she took a deep breath, "WHY ARE YOU HERE DUELING WHEN YOU SHOULD BE HOME TAKING CARE OF HIM?"

Yami jumped a foot off the ground and landed on his rear, sprawled out on the floor. He gave her a death glare while everyone either laughed or giggled. Tea just gave Nicole a death glare that went unnoticed.

"I'm going to kill you one of these days Nicole Omega," the Game King growled before sitting up again.

"Name the time and place," the blond grinned, but then got serious, "Seriously, Yugi's home alone with no one to talk to or celebrate Christmas with?"

"Uh, yeah."
"Well that clinches it," she stated, going over to the piles of jackets and sorting them out to find hers, "I'm going over there to give him his present."

"Why," Tea asked, although she is glad that the reploid bitch was leaving, "You can give it to him tomorrow."

"Can't," Nicole replied, "I'm helping my dad cook Christmas dinner and between you and me, he couldn't cook a ham worth saving his life."

Before Tea could reply, the doorbell rang and she went to answer it, not knowing that Yami was following. At the door was Yugi, dress in only a winter jacket, jeans over his pajamas, and boots, but was shivering from the cold. In his gloved hand was a present.

"What the fuck are you doing here," Tea snarled, not caring that it was Christmas and Yugi was still sick.

"I w-w-w-ant-t-t-ed t-to g-g-iv-v-v-e N-N-nicki her p-p-pres-s-s-ent," Yugi studdered, teeth chattering.

"She was already going to go visit you, but," Tea snatched the gift from him, "I'll give it to her myself so she won't have to visit a rangy weasel like you."

Yugi had tears in his eyes now and he was seeing his friends already piling in the hallway, Yami looking more pissed than ever.

"Go home Yugi," she sneered, "You're not wanted here. Whatever the hell Nicole sees in you is beyond me, but mark my words, she will see you for what you are: a-"

"I can already see you for what you are," a voice behind Yugi spoke up and everyone saw it was Nicole's brother, Zackery, in his armor since he was late to the party because he had to work tonight, "A no-good, lying, sneaking, snobbish, bitch!"

Tea gasped at the words and was about to slam the door on them when she noticed a crowd behind her, including Yami. None of them were giving her friendly looks.

"I am so going to enjoy tearing out your insides," Nicole snarled, baring her over-sized canines (she inherited them from her uncle, Forte, and everyone calls them fangs). Zackery tooked off his jacket and was about to cover Yugi with it, but noticed that he ran off.

"Kuso, YUGI," Nicole shouted, running past Tea and her brother, still holding her jacket. Joey grabbed his and took off along with Seto, followed by everyone of Yugi's friends, except for Yami and Tea.

"Yami please," Tea begged, but Yami wouldn't hear none of it and grabbed his jacket, "I love you. You don't need that pathetic shrimp in your life."

"That pathetic shrimp is my aibou," Yami growled, walking past Tea, "and I will love him regardless. I thought you were his friend; He loved you for Ra's sake! And you, of all people, took his friendship and his heart and tore it apart in front of him! And You have the audacity to claim it's HIS FAULT?!?!? No Tea, you're the one at fault here. Yugi is the only one who has my heart and forever will. If you ever go near him again, I will make sure you will regret it for the rest of eternity."

Tea tried to latch herself on his arm, but Yami whirled around and slapped her. Without another word, he picked up Yugi's present and left.

"Yugi, slow down," Nicole shrieked, several feet away from Yugi. They have ran into the woods and Nicole knew there was a lake nearby that wasn't completely frozen over yet. If Yugi ran on the thin ice...

"YUGI MOTOU," she roared trying a different tactic, "YOU STOP RIGHT NOW OR ELSE I WILL.."

She let the threat hang and it worked. Yugi was in a coughing fit right now and wondered why he stopped. He heard Nicole stop behind him and was worried that she will be angry with him. Instead, she draped her jacket over his shoulders and bundled him up.

"Dear God," she gave a sigh of relief, her present still clutched in her hand in a death-grip, "I thought you were going to fall into the lake. You could've died if you did."

Yugi didn't answer, his energy was spent and his teeth chattering, cheeks red with fever and tears, nose dripping, and eyes dull and tired. His cheeks had scratches from where braches had slapped into him and his boots were soaked from running in the snow. Without another word, Nicole picked him up and carried him bride-and-grooms style to the only place close by: her house. The others soon saw them as they left the woods and followed the blond reploid, who changed into her armor to keep warm.
She didn't say anything and opened the door to her house, everyone piling in and peeling off boots and jackets. Joey and Seto helped Yugi out of his winter clothes and were shocked to see him in his pajamas.

"I-i-i-I'm s-s-s-s-orry for r-r-r-ru-u-u-u-uin Chris-s-stm-m-mas for you a-a-a-all," Yugi studdered, tears still pouring down his cheeks.

"You didn't ruin anything," Nicole assured, "Tea did. I rather spend Christmas with you than her."

"It just not the same without ya bud," Joey added, ruffling Yugi's hair.

"To be honest," Ryou said, "many of us were planning on visiting you after the party to see how you were doing. Nicki was just a little too impatient."

"Impatient my ass," the Game Queen grunted, picking Yugi up again and setting him on the couch, bundling him up with a throw blanket, "We can have the party here. There's snacks and soup in the cupboard in the kitchen as well as some hot chocolate, and we can watch some movies for awhile."

"I can deal with that," Jasmine agreed, which was followed by everyone. "Plus, Yugi's in no condition for going anywhere else."

There was a knock on the door and Duke opened it to let Yami in. Throwing off his jacket and boots, he rushed to Yugi's side, ignoring the questioning glances he got from the others.

"Are you alright Aibou," Yami asked, pulling Yugi in his embrace.

"Yeah Yami," the tri-color hikari replied, "Thanks to everyone. What happened with Tea?"

"Let's say she got less than what she deserved," Yami answered, planning on some horrible things for the little bitch later, when Yugi wasn't looking.

The others decided to pair up and get this small party started. Duke and Tristen worked on a fire, Joey went to cook up some soup and hot chocolate for Yugi, Nicole grabbed an electric blanket for the two on the couch, and the rest began setting things up and calling spots on the floor, the love seat, and the futon. Ryou called Tea's house and explained things to his father, so he can explain things to the other parents and assure Sugoroku that Yugi was alright. When done, mugs and bowls were passed around, Yami feeding Yugi the soup, and Nicole wrapped the two within the warm blanket, going over and sorting throughout the stacks of movies.

"Let's see," Nicole picked one up after another, "There's the Scorpion King-"

"Bakura has a thing for criticizing movies dealing with Egypt," Malik stated, getting a glare from the tomb-robber.

"Okay, that rules out The Mummy and it's sequel as well," Nicole placed them back, "The Nightmare Before Christmas?"

There were a few agreements and a few 'no's, so Nicole placed that in a 'Maybe' file. "Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights?"

Everyone agreed on that and Nicole popped it in, walking over and sitting on the couch. Yami pulled Nicole over so the duo would end up sitting/lying on her lap. Yugi had fallen asleep, so everyone tried to remain quiet as possible, although the movie was too hilarious for them to keep from laughing.

Most of Tea's friends, after seeing the scene and many thought that Yugi was a little kid, had already left, stating that they have to wake up early tomorrow to do things. In truth, they were disgusted that she would talk like that to a kid, even though that kid was much older than he looks, but they didn't want o dwell on it.

Tea sat on her bed, eyes blank and Yami's words bouncing around in her mind. It couldn't have been true; Yami loved her! It HAD to be both the bitch's doing as well as that waste of life of an aibou of his. She will get him back, she will kill them if it's the last thing she ever did.

Loading her father's gun, she grabbed her jacket and hid the weapon inside the pocket.

Yugi was feeling much better from his small nap, even laughing at the movie they were watching. Nicole found some cold medicine and had Yugi take it, which help reduce his fever pretty much. He was now wrapped up in Nicole's present, a violet and gold blanket with the Sennen Eye in the center and a horrid attempt at making a Dark Magician on one end, a Dark Magician girl on the other, a Dark Sage on the third, and the Saint Dragon Osiris on the last corner. He then shot up and remembered.

"I forgot your present at Tea's," he blurted out, getting Nicole's attention, "I'm sorry."

"Don't worry aibou," Yami assured, pulling out the rectangular box, "I snatch it up before I left."

"What'cha get little old me," Nicole grinned, scruntizing the gift for a moment before tearing the wrapping off like a child wit the world's best present.

"I swear," Zackery stated from his place on the floor between Bakura and Yami Malik so they wouldn't fight, "you are still the biggest kid when it comes to presents!"
"I wouldn't be one to talk Mr. I Must Tear Every Piece of Gift Wrap In Sight," Nicole shot back, getting some snickers from the comments, then opened the box and gasped at what was inside.

"I know you like silver and sapphires," Yugi blushed as Nicole took out a heart-shaped sapphire pendant, "and when I saw it, I knew it would be right for you."

The Game Queen was sure she was going to cry; her present to Yugi was a pale shadow compared to the pendant. However, she wasn't going to say that because Yugi loved her gift to him. Instead, she leaned over and kissed him, getting a few howls for it, as a sign of thanks. Yugi blushed even more from it, Yami just smirked. Nicole placed the necklace on and the rest continued to watch the movie.

Following the tracks in the snow, Tea knew they had to have gone to Nicole's house. Soon, her revenge will be complete.
