Chapter Two:

Kagome woke up two hours before dawn and got dressed in her Slytherin robes and went down to the common room and sat down in a chair. `God, all those times I had to get up at dawn are finally paying off. At this rate I won't have to worry about ever being late.' She thought and laid her head back went Tsumei jumped into her lap. "Good morning Tsumei."

Tsumei barked (Yes foxes do bark) and snuggled into Kagomes' arms. *Good morning Kagome-san,* Tsumei spoke into her head.

*Wow, I didn't know that you could communicate telepathically.* Kagome sent. *That's awesome.*

*I know, I can talk to you, sorry I didn't let you know earlier.*

*It's ok, you wanna be able to speak aloud?*

*That would be nice thank you.*

*Ok, hold on for a minute.* Kagome finished and cast a spell for Tsumei.

"Can you talk now?" She asked.

"Yes, I can. Thank you very much Kagome-san."

"No problem. You are my friend." Kagome said to her. "Oh, and you can just call me Kagome. Do you have a real name or will Tsumei work?"

"My real name was Kotaru."

"Would you like me to call you that instead?"

"Would you?"

"Sure I would. Can you take a human form, if you can't I'll give you one."

"No that's ok, I have a human form. But I was captured. I'm really only about nine."

"Would you like to be Shippo's sister or his aunt?"

"Can I be his sister so you can be my mom?"

"Yes, that could work. I would be happy to have you as my daughter. When I see Shippo again he will be very pleased." Kagome said and sat her down. "Come on lets go get my schedule and wand. I love being able to cast spells with out it and I really don't need it but sense my mom and Dad created it for me I guess it's important for me to have it."

"Yes I suppose it is." Kotaru said and followed her up the stairs. "Would you like to see my human form sometime so you can know what I look like and won't confuse me with something else?"

"Yes, but not now, I know it's early but someone could still be awake and watching." Kagome said and put some books she would need into her bag as well as parchment, a quill, ink and her wand was hid in her hair with some seeds she had found out was there only a little while before. (You know like Kurama, who will show up in the story later on, as will Genkai Yusuke and Kuwabara.)

"I guess I should go on out to the common room again and wait for the sun to come up." Kagome said and Kotaru jumped on her bed.

"I'm going to sleep a little longer; I'll see you this afternoon I suppose if I don't wake up before you go to breakfast. Goodnight," She said and collapsed immediately falling asleep.

Kagome smirked and closed the curtains on her bed and walked out into the common room where she saw Molfoy standing there with his wand out.

He directed a spell towards her that was meant to petrify her, but it didn't work. She just stood there with a look on her face that said, `Were you trying to cast a spell on me, how stupid are you?'

"::Sigh:: You are naive aren't you?" Kagome said and shook her head. "Like I said a pathetic human, weak and stupid. Oh well not everything in this world is as they say perfect."

After hearing this Molfoy walked up to her and smacked her across the cheek. "I will not stand for being called stupid."

"Didn't your father ever teach you not to hit a girl, especially one who is more skilled than you in magic and probably almost everything else." Kagome said and watched Molfoy go into a defensive stance.

"I am almost a black belt, you think you can beat me?!" Molfoy laughed. "I will kill you when I get the chance."

"Yea sure you will, you couldn't even touch me and you only were able to hit me because I let you. For a human you are very slow." She said and appeared behind of him. "Trust me you're not even a challenge for me." She whispered in his ear and disappeared for a moment the reappeared on the couch. "You should just go crawl in a hole somewhere."

"Oh, yea." Molfoy said and took his wand out again. "You'd better get your wand out of your bag."

"Who said I keep my wand in my bag?" Kagome said innocently and pulled her wand from her hair.

"You put you wand in your hair; it must be a rat's nest!" He laughed and fell on the floor.

"Actually my friend Kurama in the Gryffindor house keeps many things in his hair and yet it is still neat and brushed. Many of the special students with exceptionally high levels of magic that didn't come till their sixth year do that because they have to carry other things in their bags." Hiei said and smirked. "Though, we wouldn't expect a human like you to understand what we have to carry that you don't. Is that right, Kagome?"

Kagome who had got the hint played along. "Oh yes, very true indeed; I myself have to carry around a quart of blood so I won't get the red hunger." She said letting her fangs graze her lower lip. "I even have a blood donator."

Molfoy paled. "You're both crazy!" He said and walked back into the dormitory.

"S'shame, I lied; I really only carry a pint of blood with me." Kagome said tilting her head to the side. "I really didn't think he'd take that seriously; oh well."

"Hn, he's and idiot… Do you even know what the red hunger is?" Hiei asked.

"Yes, I do; I went through it on the train ride here. The one I told I was a vampire was kind enough to let me have some blood." Kagome said and glared at him.

"And who is the one who let you have it." Hiei asked.

"That is none of your business I am afraid. If I told I'd be breaking my promise to them." She said and left to the dinning hall. (Or wha'dever it is called) `God, now I think I need some coffee.'

On her way there she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. "Oof." Kagome said and picked herself up. "I'm sorry I wasn't…" she looked up into cold gold eyes. "Sesshomaru," She asked; he nodded. "Sesshomaru- aniki!" Kagome said and hugged him. "I missed you!"

"I missed you too little sister. It's been five hundred years sense I last saw you." He said and hugged her back for a moment.

"Professor, you are not to touch the students in such a way." Professor Snape said and broke them apart. "If Dumbledore new he would…"

"What would he do, I am entitled to hug someone as close to me as she is." Sesshomaru said and glared coldly at him.

"You are…" Snape didn't finish due to Kagome and Sesshomaru ignoring him and walking away.

"So how have you, Shippo and Rin been?" Kagome asked as they reached the dinning hall.

"We have been fine, your son is almost nine in demon years now and Rin will soon be fourteen." He said and looked straight forward. "They will both be able to terrorize the school as you will. They will be coming to visit over the Christmas break if you wish to see them."

"I would like that, thank you." Kagome said and smiled up at him. "So it turns out I'm only a half fox demon, Mom said my father was a vampire."

"That would explain the scent of blood coming from your bag. Do you need to carry it with you?"

"It's either that or go into blood lust in the middle of a class and drain everyone. Mom told me father did that once and the sun thing is only an urban myth." She said looking down again. "Then Molfoy is always calling me a mudblood or saying my parents are muggles… So how did you get a job here?"

"I just asked. Dumbledore thought it would be good it the students new that demons existed at this school and they would need a demonic teacher also. So here I am working at a wizard's school. But there is one good thing; I got my little sister here with me." He smiled.

"I will see you later today Kagome." Sesshomaru said and turned to leave. "I believe you are in my third class." He said and disappeared.

"You know the new professor?" Hiei asked walking up to her.

"Yea, I've known him for a year; he's like my big brother." Kagome said and turned to look at Hiei. "He helped me change from my human disguise to my demon/ vamp form."

"HiEi," A red headed boy yelled running up to him. "Who is that?" He pointed at Kagome.

"You know it's rude to point at someone." She said and kept walking as he stopped and thought for a moment before he caught up.

"Yes, you are right, I apologize; my name is Kurama." He held out a hand.

"Kagome," she said and shook hands with him. "It was very nice meeting you."

"Um, I hate to bother you but why are you carrying blood with you?" Kurama asked and looked curiously at her.

Kagome froze shocked then extended her senses a little and relaxed. `Ok, he's a demon to just as Hiei and I.' she thought and turned around. "I'm a half vampire half fox demon. I think my moms a silver kitsune but her human form has black hair."

"I myself am a kitsune, also a silver one." He said.

Kagome nodded and looked at Hiei. "What kind of demon are you?" she asked.

"Fire apparition, a forbidden child." He said and looked at her coldly.

"Sorry I asked." Kagome said when she heard Ginny's voice behind of her.

"Kagome," She said bounding up to her and pulled out a pint of red liquid. "Here, just incase something happens to the other."

"Ginny," Kagome said. "It's not good to take so much blood out of your system at once and alone at that."

"I know, but after almost being killed be the heir of Slytherin once this is nothing." She said and smiled. "Hello Kurama."

"Ginny is the person who gave you the blood you have with you?" Hiei asked surprised that the little girl was giving Kagome her own life blood.

"Yea," Ginny said. "You know, being bit by a vampire doesn't hurt as bad as people think it would."

That comment made Kagome blush a little. "So did you send that letter to your mom?" Kagome tried to change the subject.

"Yea, when post comes I should get a reply." She said and smiled. "I hope my mom says it's ok, I mean it should be she's always telling me different is a good thing anyhow."

"I suppose, plus my mom already said it would be ok if your mom said it was…telepathy is a beautiful thing." Kagome said and grinned revealing her fangs which made Ginny grin and reveal her fangs that she had just newly gotten on the train ride there. (Reference back to when Kagome told the story that's when she turned Ginny by accident.)

"Ok, so when I get the letter I'll come and get you if it's good ok?" She asked; Kagome nodded. "Great, bye Kagome and if you run into Professor Inutoushi tell him hello for me!"

After breakfast, Kagome went to her first class which was herbology with professor Sprout.

"What we are going to do today is learn to channel your magic into a rose seed and make it bloom." She said and demonstrated. The seed in her hand slowly formed into a bright red rose without thorns. "Now you try,"

"This will be hard." A girl next to Kagome said.

"No, it's not really that hard at all." Another girl said. "Just focus on what you are doing."

"I'd like to see the mudblood vampire do it." Molfoy said from across the table. "She already has seeds in her hair."

"You know Molfoy, one day that mouth of yours will get you slaughtered." Kagome blurted before she could stop herself. "You shouldn't be telling their business to the school; especially when they are stronger and could kill you easily. Plus changing a seed into a rose is one of my great gifts." She said and picked up the seed which changed immediately into a black rose and she threw it to Molfoy. "Learn your place in the world."

"What did you say to me?!" Molfoy asked angrily.

"You are inferior. You insult ones family and do not even know who or what they are. Muggles have more manners than you. At least they can tell what a half vampire looks like and unless you want to start letting your blood I suggest you keep your mouth shut and your eyes opened." She growled out and the class started whisper amongst themselves.

"Class, settle down now." Professor Sprout said and waved her hands. "Don't lose focus on what you are doing if you do you might ::Bang:: Neville Longbottom not again ::Sigh:: go to the hospital wing." She sighed and turned back to the class. "Continue trying to change your seeds into roses."

"Professor Sprout, could I have some more seeds, I've turned all of mine already." Kagome said and pointed to six white, black or red roses.

"Let me see one of them." She said and held out her hand; Kagome handed her a flower in full bloom. "Let's see, good size, beautiful shape… You've done what no student I've ever had has done and created a perfect flower on your first try… Class dismissed."

"Professor Sprout," Kagome said walking up to her. "Who said that was my try to make a flower." She said and put the seeds the Professor gave her in her hair. "Very few at this school can do what I can." She flipped her hair and pulled out white rose and gave it to her. "For luck," With that Kagome left.

"Excuse me," the girl from herbology said running up to Kagome. "Is… Is what Molfoy said true, I realize that you are friends with Ginny Weasley and I don't want her to get hurt sense you are a vampire and all and I don't think it would be safe for her to talk to you."

"I am offended, she is my best and only friend I have here; I will not hurt her nor will I not talk to her. You have no right to choose her friends, plus; you can not kill what is no longer living." She said and looked and the girl coldly. "Try to figure that out and come get me when you do."

"What,"

"You know what I said and it's very simple to figure out."

"Kagome!" Ginny yelled running up to her. "Oh, hello Hermione; Moms letter came early and she says its ok, she thinks it will be good to be different from everyone else and it will give me a chance to make new and better friends."

"That's great, we'll need help though. Maybe I can ask Sesshomaru- aniki to help." Kagome said.

"Who is Sesshomaru?" Ginny and Hermione asked at the same time. "It sounds familiar."

"Sesshomaru is my big brother, and the new teacher here." Kagome said.

"Your brother is the new teacher?!"

"Yes, is there something wrong with that?"

"No…Of course not."

"Good, I have potions so I have to go, bye Ginny see ya at lunch…Are you coming Hermione."

"Yes of course, bye Ginny."

"Bye."

Kagome and Hermione arrived to potions class five minutes early. They talked a little on the way there and got to know each other a little better so Hermione understood that Kagome really wouldn't hurt her bestfriend.

"Well this is a first," Snape said and walked into the room. "I've never had a student early for my class before. Maybe you will learn something new today Miss Granger; and you, you are not to touch or be touched in the ways that you were by Professor Inutoushi." He pointed at kagome.

"WHAT, SO NOW I'M NOT ALOUD TO HUG MY…"

"You will not yell in my class room!" Snape raised his voice.

"Fine," she growled angrily. "And I'm not aloud to hug Sesshomaru because why?!"

"Because it is not aloud for teacher to be intimate with students."

"OK, THAT'S IT!" She yelled not caring. "THAT'S JUST GROSS, I AM NOT NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN INTIMATE WITH SESSHOMARU-ANIKI; HE MY BIG BROTHER FOR GODSAKE. YOU KNOW ANIKI ELDER BROTHER. IT FITS TO GETHER YOU KNOW, SESSHOMARU-ANIKI, SESSHOMARU ELDER BROTHER. GOT IT?! GOD THE INSULENCE OF MORTALS AND THEIR PRIDE!!!" Kagome huffed and sat down in a chair where she pulled a rose out of her hair and began to play with it be making it turn into different things like a whip, a sword and a staff.

"Kagome are you alright?" Hermione asked; Kagome looked up at her with red bleeding into her eyes. "I guess not."

Kagome growled and pulled a pint of blood out of her bag.

"There will be no drinking in this class room." Snape said from the chalk bored. "Put it away, now."

"No I will not put it away." Kagome said to him. "Unless you want me to get the red hunger and go into blood lust in the middle of your class and slaughter everyone I have to drink this in order to keep my vampire half in control." She said and finished off the pint and put it back in her bag.

"I take it your father was the vampire,"

"Yes, female vampires can not bare pups and male vampires can only create them for five hundred years. Of course me being half cancels that out." She said and leaned her head back as the class began to fill in.

"Ok, class. In honor of vampires." He looked at Kagome. "We will start with a project, you must create a potion that will stop a vampire for at least a week from having to get blood."

The class mostly groaned about the project thought others did enjoy the idea of it.

"I will appoint group leaders who will go out in the forest and find a vampire who will agree to come and test your potions in two weeks." He said and looked over at Kagome whose mood seemed to have lightened a little bit. "We will go out to day I will inform the other teachers of this, though you will miss your next class you will still have to do the work. Now the leader of group one will be Miss Kagome, group twos will be Mr. Molfoy, and group threes is Mr. Potter. We will go and get started."

*Sesshomaru* Kagome sent.

*Yes,*

*Professor Snape is making us go to the forest today, sadly I won't be in your class today and the other students I think are going to just stay at lunch a little longer. I'm sorry.*

*It's ok, I just got his letter. This will be good for you; and if they can find a potion then it can help you with your other half and you won't have to feed as often. Go ahead, I'll see you at dinner.*

*Of course, love you as always Sesshomaru*

*Love you too Kagome.*

Kagome shut the connection and follow the rest of the students out to the edge of the forest.

"Now form groups."

"Harry, Ron, I'm going to be in Kagome's group." Hermione said and ran over to her. "Hey Kagome,"

"Hello Hermione, why aren't you with Harry and Ron?" She asked.

"Because I wanted to be over here… I'm sorry what I said earlier. I didn't mean anything by it, I was just worried and I've been thinking about what you said also…And I wanted to know, is Ginny a vampire now?"

"Yes, Ginny is a vampire now. Mrs. Weasley really doesn't mind though just as long as I help her and teach what needs to be taught… Like I said earlier telepathy is a beautiful thing."

"Would it be alright if I were to ask you if, maybe I could also be turned?"

"I suppose, would you parents care? If not I can turn you as soon as we go into the forest. They are all mortals so it will make it very hard to find a vampire for them." Kagome said and watched everyone enter the forest with a map.

"No my parents wouldn't mind, they'd probably take to it as well as they did my being a witch." Hermione said. "Meaning they'd probably be bouncing off the wall."

"Well ok, come on. And I'll need to give you the same ceremony as Ginny's."

"A ceremony?"

"Yes, so you will become half demon half vampire. It will help you control your blood lusts and hungers."

"Oh, I see. Well if you are going to do it go ahead." Hermione said and tilted her head to the side.

"No, no, I don't want to bite your neck. Roll up your sleeve and give me your arm." Kagome said and Hermione did as told. "This is going to be like a pinch." She said and sank her fangs into her arm and took a little blood then pulled it off of her teeth. Kagome bit her own wrist. "Drink," she said and Gave Hermione her arm.

"Um…Ok, if I have to." She said and drank the blood that poured from it. She pause and pushed Kagome's arm away as she felt the fangs growing in her mouth and her hearing and vision got better as did her sense of smell. Her hair turned black and her eyes turned green. "Ow, that hurt a little."

"I never said it would be painless." Kagome said and walked farther back into the forest and stopped.

*Kotaru, you awake?*

*Yea,*

*Come out into the forbidden forest ok.*

*Alright be there in a minute.*

*Mom,*

*Yes Kagome*

*Could you tell me where the vampires stay. It's for Professor Snapes' class so we can do something where we make a potion for vampires to keep their blood lust away.*

*Of course, hold on a second…*

*Ok,* kagome sent and fell to the ground as information flooded her mind. *Holy hell mom, warn me next time!*

*Sorry dear, oh I need to send you and Ginny a few gallons of blood don't I?*

*Yes, thank you mom.*

*alright I'll talk to you later.*

*Bye*

"Ok, as soon as Kotaru gets here we'll…"

"Mom!" Kotaru yelled as she ran up to Kagome.

"Hello Kotaru, this is Hermione, she is a vampire now just as Ginny. Can you show us you human form now?"

"Yes of course," She said and backed away. A dark purple light surround her as she took the form a nine year old girl with black hair, bright blue eyes, claws, fangs and fox ears on top of her head that almost matched the ones that appeared on Kagomes head when her mother flooded her with information.

"Well let's go." Kagome said and walked farther into the woods with Hermione and Kotaru right behind of her.

"Sir, three outsiders have wondered into our territories. What should we do?" A pale faced man said. "Do we capture them?"

"Yes, bring them to me." He said. "And I mean alive, I don't want any corpses."

"Yes, sir of course sir. I'm right on it."

"Good."

"Kagome, your father, he was a vampire right?" Hermione asked.

"Yes, why?" Kagome asked as the cast a spell that sent Kotaru back to the dormitories.

"Why did you do that?"

"Something's coming." She said and looked around.

"Well, what was you father's name, I mean what do you remember about him?" Hermione asked and looked around also.

"His name was Virgil from what my mom told me. And he was different from every other vampire. He could control life and death as my mom being an elemental fox demon controlled plants and electricity." Kagome said and turned to her. "You'll need this." She said and flooded Hermiones' head with all of the stuff her mother gave her. "We might have to fight soon."

"Give me the Shikon no Tama and..."

"And you might let us live. Yea I get it, do you demons always have to say the same damn thing?!" Kagome said annoyed. "Oh well, I know you were ready to fight for it and all but I don't have the time." She said and vines shot up around the demon and tied him to a tree so he was just slightly taller that Kagome. "You know, I've never tried another demons blood. It might be good." She said walked up to him. "Oh well, I might come back and let you go later."

"That was kind of mean." Hermione snickered and paused as did Kagome. "You sense that?!"

"Yea, whoever or what ever it is, is fast." Kagome said under her breath. "It's here."

A man stepped out of the bushes and stopped. "You are the ones mi' Lord wanted me to come and get, a couple of Hogwarts students. My day will get better I hope. I wanted at least a challenge."

"What was that?!" Kagome growled in her chest. "I will not be taken lightly!"

"Nor will I!" Hermione agreed.

"Yes, think what you want. The vampire Lord has decided that he wants you to come before him and tell him why you are here rather than me killing you." The man said. "Oh, I am sorry, my name is Jin'yoku. And you are?"

"Kagome Higurashi and my friend is Hermione Granger." Kagome said and put her right hand across her chest and bowed. "We will go willingly with you but only if we are promised a safe return."

"Consider it done," A new voice said and another vampire stepped out into the clearing.

"My Lord." The first one said and bowed

Kagome bowed again and so did Hermione this time. "Why may I ask is it you came out here. We are but lowly students, was it really necessary for you to come out here?"

"No it wasn't but you both have similar energy's to my kind and I wanted to see for myself. But you are just a couple of humans one who is mutated and the other is just weird."

"What did you call me?!" Kagome growled.

"A mutated human."

"DAMN IT WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP ON INSISTING THAT I AM A HUMAN, I AM MOST CERTAINLY NOT A HUMAN!!! HOW IN GODS NAME AM I HUMAN?! MY NAME IS KAGOME HIGURASHI ASIXTEEN YEAR OLD FOXDEMON/ VAMPIRE AND VIRGIL, MY FATHER IS DEAD AND MY MOM IS IN JAPAN WITH MY LITTLE BROTHER!!! I'M GARDIAN OF THE SHIKON NO TAMA AND I'VE ONLY TURNED TO PEOLE, GINNY WEASLEY AND HHRMIONE GRANGER!!! THAT SHOULD ANSWER ABOUT ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS FOR ME AND MY FRIEND!" Kagome stopped and took a breath.

"You are right, that did answer almost all of my questions, but I still have some. Like, why are you out here?"

"School assignment, we have to find a vampire and make our own potions for controlling blood lusts. Dumb one really, I wish we didn't have to do it but no progress no good grade."

"Wait, your father is Virgil?"

"Yes…"

"You are aware that your father was the Prince of our kind, he was my son. So I guess that makes you my grand daughter."

"Wh-What?!" Kagome and Hermione said in unison.

"How on earth, oh lord…"

"How come you didn't tell me?!" Hermione asked.

"How was I supposed to know, I mean my mom was just going to tell me when I got my letter to come!"

"Settle down you two." The man said. "Oh yes, you may both call me Gramps."

"Um…::Sweat drop:: ok… sure thing Gramps." Hermione said.

"Yea, um…Alright then. We need to get back to the school soon Gramps."

"Oh yes, you said something about a potion for stopping blood lust, here." Gramps said and tossed three bottles of a blue liquid to them. "One for you friend Ginny too and here is the ingredients for it so you can make you own."

"Thank you, so much!" Kagome and Hermione said in unison and hugged him. "Sorry, we have to go. Would you mind coming out in about two weeks so we can get a good grade for potions?"

"Yes of course I would be happy to."

"I'll call to you when it's time for you to come to the school." Kagome said and waved bye.

Kagome and Hermione got out of the forest about five minutes before everyone else who had vampires on chains which made them (Kagome and Hermione) fume with anger.

"YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" Kagome yelled. "YOU CAN NOT PUT VAMPIRES ON CHAINS THAT'S WRONG!!!"

"How would you know, mudbloods?" Molfoy said. `I can't wait till she gets expelled soon, I know it sucks but I'm going to wait until she runs over here and tries to get them lose then blame it on her and in the process I get to start a war.'

*Please,* Kagome sent them. *Do not start a war with us. He is the offender not the students. But do nothing, I will take care of this for this crime to my kind.*

*Of course Miss. Higurashi.* They all sent back.

*How do you know who I am?!*

*Your grandfather already told us. Do not worry we won't start a war.*

*Thank you, look as soon as I get you lose you need to run, ok.*

*Alright,*

*Ok,* Kagome closed the link and was about to go and cut the bonds when a black blur flashed through and the bonds disappeared. "What the hell!" she said and Hiei appeared infront of her. "You know I could have done that."

"You know Molfoy is planning a trap for you right." He said.

"Is he… Hermione, could you go get Ginny and start planning something…I'll join you in a little while, ok?"

"Alright, no problem, and you vampire guys had better run." Hermione reminded them and they did as told.

"Ok now, WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!" Kagome yelled. "I COULD HAVE DONE IT MYSELF!"

"Hn, fine next time I'll remember that and let Molfoy trap you…" Hiei said and turned to leave.

"Ok, alright. Th- thank you for helping as you did… I really ap- appreciate it…" Kagome tried to bite out. "God that was hard to say."

"Hn, don't expect it all the time." He said and looked back at her. "But, you are welcome."

Um…I'm just going to stop right there, sorry. I hope you like it. I thought it was ok, but that's just cause it's mine, I probably could have done a lot better. It you have any suggestions do tell… And I have one person for Kag/Hiei.
