Chapter Two: Enter Hiei and Kurama

Raven groggily opened her eyes. Weird. This was not the T tower. She was sitting upright against a tree. And surprise! She was tied to it with rope.

Raven struggled to loosen them. As she strived to get the ropes off of her, she recalled what had happened earlier. She had remembered her neck stinging. She would examine it with her hands, but they were by her sides.

"Raven you idiot. Your powers!" Then a black raven shaped aura surrounded her and she attempted to shift out of her position in the ropes. She was shocked to see that she couldn't. The ropes! - She realized they must been enchanted or something.

"So you've found out about the rope. A simple spell really. I'm surprised that you can't break through the spell," said the tall demon, Kindor.

Raven snarled and strained at the ropes, her eyes glowing. But all the straining left her shockingly tired and dizzy.

"No, no, no, my dear Raven. I wouldn't waste your strength. That dart that hit your neck is finally taking its effect. It's a poison. A poison that drains the life out of demons… and humans, I suppose. However, I do not have the antidote. The antidote is with my master. But don't worry. You have exactly one week before the last of your life drains from you."

Raven glared at the demon. She would have said much actually. But she stayed silent, hoping that a brilliant plan would come up to her mind.

She cast her mind here and there, trying to pick up things that were being said or thought in the other demon's minds. But she gave up, glancing around hopelessly. Where was Robin. Starfire? Beastboy? Cyborg? Where were they? She hoped they were safe; and hoped that they had survived the attack.

*Having troubles onna no ko?* (I believe that means "girl"? slap me if I'm wrong. ^_^)

Raven looked up in shock. Who was that, she thought. She sighed. "I'm imagining things now. I guess I really can't live without friends." She closed her eyes and retreated far back into her mind.

*She's not listening to me. So let's just leave her.*

*You're so impatient. And why do you address her by "girl"? You do know her.*

*Let's just leave kitsune. Now she thinks she's going crazy. And besides. Genkai and the others will be awaiting our return.*

*When have you started to care about whether or not Genkai and the others would worry? You're growing soft.* the figure chuckled.

Raven opened her eyes incredulously. She knew she wasn't going crazy. Her powers never would betray her this drastically. She closed her eyes, sending out her power to see where these voices were coming from. `There!' she yelled in her mind. She stared directly at the point where she detected two people. She shot black energy shooting up at them.

*Touchy, isn't she Hiei?*

*If she does that one more time, I'm going to kill her.*

*Oh yah? I want to see you try!* shot back Raven.

*In your state? Hn.*

*That's enough. And Raven, do relax. We're not your enemies. Actually we've known you for quite some time.*

*You know my name.*

"Isn't that obvious?* asked Hiei coolly.

*I said, that's enough! Quit it you two. We really have no time for this. Let's save her and take her back to Yusuke and the others.*

*I don't need your help. My friends will be here any moment.*

*Oh really? The ones that Yusuke and the others are helping right now? The masked one, alien, metal one, and just extremely stupid one? Those friends? They were on the brink of death. And they were fortunate enough for us to help them.* shot back Hiei.

Raven did not reply. She cursed at this one called Hiei. However her cursing was interrupted by Kindor.

"What is wrong, little one? Something aggravating you? His hand lowered to touch her cheek, but she recoiled.

"Get away from me. Now." Raven narrowed her eyes.

"Now, now…" I wouldn't be saying that. I'm not the one tied up." Kindor looked at her snidely.

Raven began to get frightened now, though she did not show it on her face.

"I said. Get away."

Kindor smiled. And he came closer and closer to her. A knife appeared in his hand. When he got to her, he grabbed her hair, pulling her head back. And then he placed the knife on her neck. Then he shouted up into the air,

"Come on out! I know you two are out there!! Don't think you can fool me!"

Raven held her breath. Then she heard the two in the tree in her mind again.

*Sigh… Our cover is blown now, Hiei. We might as well just reveal ourselves*

*Hn.*

Two guys dropped from out of the leafy foliage. One was rather short. He had spiky black hair with white in the middle. His weapon was a katana. And he had red eyes.

The other was taller with scarlet hair. He had an elegant build, something that came amusing to Raven.

"Are you two all that I thought was a threat? A child and a woman? What a shame." Laughed Kindor.

*A child?! He calls me a child?!*

"Hah. I am no woman. And this man beside me is no child. Are you blind?" asked Kurama.

Raven was going into her own world. Her awareness of her outside surroundings existed no more. She couldn't' seem to get back to the world around her. She struggled to break through the barrier between her and the outside world.

Meanwhile, Hiei was fuming and Kindor was laughing. Kindor kept on making jokes on how Hiei was a mere child and no threat at all.

Kurama managed to keep Hiei restrained from saying anything, but could not restrain from Hiei making the first attack on Kindor. He unsheathed his katana and disappeared from view. He appeared in front of Kindor, and slashed at his chest. Kindor blocked with his claws.

Raven still remained slung over Kindor's arm. Her eyes were open, but unseeing.

As Hiei and Kindor were engaged in battle, Kurama tried to save Raven from Kindor's clutches. But ended up just helping Hiei to kill Kindor. For there were spikes on Kindor's arms, and the more Kurama attempted to snatch her away, the spikes began to dig into Raven's body. Blood was appearing on her body.

Kindor definitely seemed to be one of the best warriors that had been sent to kidnap Raven. This master of his was taking no chances.

Kurama winced slightly as a gash appeared on his arm. But he ignored it, and kept on fighting along side with Hiei, who had a cut on his face.

Raven was also in a battle. She fought against the barrier between her and the outside world. She was getting so frustrated. She screamed out in anger, and used all the power and magic she could muster to shatter the wall. However, the wall remained. She searched her mind for anything that could help her, and she found something. In a matter of speaking, it was a locked door.

As she said, "Azerath, metrion, zinthos," she shoved some energy into the lock. The door did open, to her surprise. She went through and found a piece of paper on the ground. She picked it up- it said "mina yeros". She looked up from the piece of paper, and was shocked. Surrounding her was a whole new set of doors that were locked. Raven glanced down at the paper again.

"Mina Yeros. Mina Yeros. Mina Yeros." Her eyes began to glow. Raven smiled at this new discovery, and glared at the wall. Putting all the power she could behind the words, she yelled, "Mina Yeros!"

This new discovery did the trick. She broke through the barrier and her eyes opened to a new light. Now here eyes were alert and seeing and full of anger. Her eyes glowing, she erupted in a white fire. She screamed, " Mina Yeros!" Kindor began to be consumed in white fire. He yelled in pain. Hiei and Kurama jumped back quickly from Kindor.

Kindor yelled to Raven, "So you have found your power, m'dear! But remember! The poison! You will die!" And with that he disintegrated. The other demons yelped and went through the portal as fast as they could.

Raven just stood there, in the midst of the forest, surrounded by the ashes of Kindor. She was still glowing. But then she gave a rasping gasp and fell to the ground. Kurama caught her before she hit the ground.

"Not good, Hiei. Her pulse is low. We have to take her immediately back to where Genkai is. She can help Raven."

Hiei said nothing, but ran beside Kurama as they rushed to the T tower.
