"Kyo, wake up or you're going to be late for school!" Kyorie Takashi fell out of bed with a loud thud and a curse. The door to her room opened giving entrance to a brown haired woman in her mid thirties who gave the teen on the floor a look of disaproval. "Kyo, I'm glad you're trying to get used to the way they sleep in Tokyo, but, honey, we can always get you a bed instead of a futon," the brown haired woman said with a touch of amusement. "Well, you only have 15 more minutes before school starts so I suggest you better get moving soon, or else you'll be late."

The girl gave no indication of hearing a single thing the woman had said but she sat up with a start, staring wide eyed at her mother. "Fifteen minutes!? How can you do this to me!? I'm going to be late!" she exclaimed already scrambling over to her closet and pulling out the cloest thing she could grasp then running into the bathroom. The bathroom door slammed shut loudly which made the woman flinch visibly.

The woman shook her head wih disappointment. "Not even setting the clock and she goes and blames me." Naiomi Takashi sighed then turned and left, closing the door behind her. As she stood in the hallway she heard a loud bang and stuck her head back into her daughter's bedroom to see what it was. The bathroom door stood open but Kyo couldn't be seen inside. Naiomi looked around the girl's room, then closed the door quickly when a shower of clothes was thrown in every direction some even heading towards her. She went downstairs without another word, with the intention of getting ready for work in her mind.

...................

Kyo threw every piece of clothing she grabbed out of her closet, muttering something about murdering dead clocks when she had time. Her fingers closed around a familar fabric and she looked at it. At once a bright smile lit her face at the sight of her white blouse. She sighed in relief at not having to spend more time to search for it and took off her pajama top. She froze, catching her reflection on the tall 5'5" mirror on the opposite wall. Turning fully to face it instead of the closet, she frowned. If she had a choice, she would rather be a guy then a girl but you can't really change what gender you were born with unless with magic and magic isn't real. At least, not the kind of magic someone uses to switch genders. If it was real, she would gladly use it no matter at what cause.

She dropped the white blouse, bending over and tieing the shoe laces on her white sneakers before going back to rumage through her closet. Finding what she was looking for, a tight black tank top, she went to find the roll of duck tape she had bought yesterday, cursing silently with the fact that it was her 8th roll of tape this year. She put on the tank top that hugged her chest tightly, she began wrapping the duct tape around her chest making sure that it was even tighter than her top, wincing only slightly.

"I. Hate. Being. A. Girl!" she yelled in a whisper before throwing the roll of tape over her shoulder. She stomped over to where the white blouse laid and picked it up, quickly slipping it on over the black top then buttoning it all the way up, although the blouse's neckline was low it didn't show the tape only a bit of black. Satisfied, she bent over pulling the knee length socks that were also white all the way up. Earlier she had taken a blue jean skirt that was inches above her knees by accident and there wasn't time to change and she wasn't content on walking around showing her legs to everyone that would gladly take a look.

Straightening up she looked aaround her room searching for her back back, ignoring the various clothing that was littered on almost any kind of surface that would hold it. Kyo stepped over the clothing to the other side of her room and picked up her back pack, hitching it over her shoulders. She took one last look around the room muttering, "I'll just have to clean this up later." Stealing a quick glance at the clock, she rushed out of her room and almost stumbled down the stair and ran straight into the door if she hadn't skidded to a stop.

"Mom, I'm going!" she called over her shoulder.

"But what about your lunch?" Naiomi called back from the kitchen.

"Uh....I'll buy it! Sayonara!"

"Alright---" The rest of the sentence was lost when Kyo rushed out of the door into the autumn morning. Instantly she wished she had brought a jacket with her but continued on anyways. About 4 minutes later, walking along the cobblestone path lined by giant oak trees on either side, Kyo regretted wearing a blouse as the breeze whistled faintly through the morning, chilling her more than she wanted.

"Hey, Kyo!" The brown haired girl stopped when a familar voicee reached her ears. She looked up from staring at the coblestones and turned slightly. Another girl about her own age was running up to her, blonde pigtails bouncing as she ran. Sa-tya ((suh-tai-uh)) Anderson stopped besides her friend, offering a grin to the other who returned it. "So you're late too, huh?" the blonde asked as they began walking together.

"It's not my fault the stupid clock is messed up," Kyo replied defensively. "And before you say anything"---Sa-tya closed her mouth---"I didn't do anything to it."

"I wasn't going to say that," the girl lied. "So anyways, when are you going to go to Japan?"

Kyo frowned at her friend. "How did you know that?"

"Your mom told my mom."

"But how did you know?" Suddenly Kyo grinned. "You were eavesdropping, weren't you?"

Sa-tya frowned at the accusation. "No," she answered curtly, "I just accidently walked into the kitchen when they were talking, that's all." A bright smile spread across her lips, almost like a reflection of Kyo's except that it was more of like someone who had just recieved the best christmas present in their life. "You know Yu Yu Hakusho right?"

"No...what's that?"

"How can you not know what Yu Yu Hakusho is!?"

"I dunno," Kyo said.

Sa-tya groaned. "Don't you watch tv? I mean you have five sets in your house."

"I don't have time to watch tv."

"Not even for the news?"

"Internet."

"What if your computer crashes?"

"Laptop."

"What if yor laptop is broken, stolen, or runs out of power?"

"Radio."

"You're impossible.'

"No I'm not. Everything's possible in the universe y'know."

"Well, you're an exception."

"How mean."

"That's not being mean." Sa-tya paused briefly before continueing. "You should have heard about Yu Yu Hakusho even if you don't watch tv."

"Nope."

"You are the wierdest girl I've ever had the misfortune to befriend."

"Am not!"

"Am too! You're worrying over your figure even though you have the greatest body that anyone could wish for! And, you are the laziest person in this world!"

"It's not my fault I'm a girl!"

"You're still pissed at what Mindy said?"

"Maybe."

"She's just jelous. She's the one that's the slut. I mean, it's not exactly like you had asked some diety to grant you a super model's body, did you?" Kyo shook her head. "So, you're right, it's not really you're fault."

"I know that," Kyo answered stiffly. "So what's Yu Yu Hakusho? It sounds Japanese."

"It is!"

"Oh.......it's an anime?"

"Yes. God help this girl."

"I don't need help."

"You're right, help probally won't do any good anyways. You're beyond helping."

Kyo glared at the blonde. "So what if I am?"

"How should I know? Ask a doctor. Well, back to what I was saying. They're showing re-runs of Yu Yu Hakusho which is really......annoying. They always do that! And right now I'm almost finished with my Japanese class, so what I was thinking is this. Since you're going to Japan why don't you tape the episodes for me? Tape all of them because I think the episodes will be slightly different then what they are here."

"Why?"

"Because they edit things out, that's why," the blonde answered as if it was obvious. "And if you can, can you tape any anime they show? Please?"

"Wouldn't that be too much."

"Well, yeah, but it's worth it. Besides it'll be my empty tapes that you're going to be using so it's not like you're wasting any money."

"But I can't tape all the episodes."

"Why not?"

"Because I'll only be there a month and a half."

"Oh." There was silence as the two walked on. The sky above was even darker than before, and it seemed that even Sa-tya noticed it because she looked up too. They both stopped and stared a the dark gray nearly black clouds that had somehow managed to cover the vast expanse of the sky through out their conversation. The breeze had grown stronger, picking up red, brown, and yellow leaves and showering them somewhere else. "The weather man saaid there was a 5% of rain."

"You watch the weather channel?"

"Of course. I don't want to be stuck in some storm or something without being ready."

"I wish I brought a jacket."

"It's autumn, which means cold so it's common sense to bring a jacket or sweater." Just as she finished, thunder roared loudly overhead followedd by a branch of lightning that etched through the clouds. "C'mon. We better get to school before it rains." As if on cue, sheets of rain started falling heavily without warning.

Kyo glared again at the other. "Next time, be quiet." But the sound of thunder drowneed out the last two words.

"Let's go!" Sa-tya shouted over the noise of the storm. The two broke off into a run, soon running off the cobblestone street and into paved ones. They dodged the cars and ran along the sidewalk, weaving through the crowd of people hurrying to find shelter from the unexpected rain.
