Chapter Four: the Answers with the Cruelest of intentions…
Harmonie shook herself and tried to stop crying, but the questions kept coming back:
What are you?
What could be worse then this?
When will it all end?
But these questions she couldn't answer for herself.
She stood and, wiping her eyes, began to pace the room, her sadness slowly turning to rage.
`How could they do this to me? To ME?! If it's the last thing I do, I'll ki-' Harmonie's thoughts were cut off when the door opened.
She expected to see Tomin or Dr. Benson, but instead, she saw a red head with long, flowing hair, and emerald green eyes.
At first, Harmonie thought he was another scientist, but something inside told her he didn't do this to you.
“Hello miss. My name is Dr. Kurama Minnamino,” He said gently, but you could still hear the touch of sadness in his voice.
“Don't call me `miss' please; I'm not that innocent…” Harmonie said quietly, resuming her place on the floor.
Kurama decided, on his better judgment, to not push the subject, “So, Harmonie…can you tell me about why you're here?”
(Tomin, Dr. Benson, and Colonel Marx)
“That was an order Benson! Release Zombies 1 and 4, or your contract will be terminated!” Marx glared at Benson, almost like he was trying to burn a hole through him.
“Y…yes sir…but if I can ask, why?” Benson asked timidly.
“Because I want to see if 0096 will attack everything in the room, or just the t-virus monsters” Marx said, almost unconvincingly.
“But Dr. Minnamino is in there Sir!” Tomin said urgently, thinking his commander was crazy.
“Precisely….” Marx mumbled darkly, “Release them!”
(Harmonie and Kurama)
Kurama tried to continue but Harmonie raised her hand for silence.
“They're coming….” She said mysteriously.
“Who?” Kurama asked, but his question was almost immediately answered.
The roll up door was raising and the moaning started almost immediately, but there were more then two this time.
Six repulsive zombies dragged their feet toward the only two living people in the room. Suspiciously, two of them had uniforms that looked almost too close to Kurama's uniform…
Harmonie could smell death so strongly and she would've hacked, like she could see Kurama about to do, but this was the new her; instead, the smell excited her and she felt the change coming.
Kurama saw her eyes darken and then turn crimson, her nails and teeth sharpened, her hair darkened. He himself had dealt with zombies before, but the smell of death had always haunted him and made him sick.
Harmonie, on the other hand, he could see her shiver with excitement, and twitch with anticipation. This defiantly was not the girl whom he read about in the reports.
Then she launched her bloody and brutal attack, ripping the zombies' limb from limb…
(Dr. Benson and Col. Marx)
“Why are there six zombies!?!” Col. Marx shouted, leaning over Dr. Benson's computer.
“I-I don't know! I only released two! But two more locks opened!” Benson answered frantically.
“THEN WHY ARE THERE SIX!?” Marx bellowed, fear almost evident in his voice.
“I DON'T KNOW COLONEL!” Benson yelled back, but fear permeated his voice, making it crack a couple times.
(Harmonie and Kurama)
Harmonie had torn through all six zombies and turned toward Kurama.
For the Second time in his life, Kurama found out what it was like to feel a bottomless fear that consumes you painstakingly slowly, yet it only takes seconds.
But the first wasn't like this, not close….maybe because she looked liked she couldn't kill anyone or anything, but the recent event proved that wrong; whatever the reason, the fear was still there.
Harmonie would have attacked, but her instincts said to control herself and observe him.
The very first thing she noticed was the smell of fear running through his blood. Then she sensed something else….a certain power that separated him from most humans….but she didn't know what it was…
She felt herself changing back and when she had she studied him a minute before she heard the shudder close and the other door unlock.
Harmonie walked heavily to the door, she knew that she couldn't escape this facility, but escaping the room was the first step to trying.
………What's going to happen?
……..………..Who'll stop you?
……………………… 8230;Can you escape this alive?
