      Chapter 1

Meru's eyes fluttered open as she lifted head shakily; the first thing she saw was green crunchy leaves. ~Green crunchy leaves? But that means...~ Looking down she almost screamed, she was in a high ass tree. What the hell was she doing in a tree? The last time she looked she was at home playing the...Oh yea.

Trying to figure out how to get down she started slowly working her way down the branches, she flinched every few seconds when a branch would make a creaking sound. Sighing she was almost within 20 feet of the ground when she heard the branch make a complete snapping sound. Her eyes widened in surprise and a scream crawled its way out of her mouth as she started to fall. Closing her eyes for the inevitable impact, she waited...But it didn't come, someone had caught her.

'What do we have here? Dinner?'

Opening her eyes she looked into the face of an ugly man with big bushy hair and a beard full of lice. Screaming again she tried to get out of his arms failing miserably.

'Let me go you bastard!'

'What did you say?!'

'I said 'L-E-T M-E G-O Y-O-U B-A-S-T-A-R-D!''

Meru said each pronunciation, all of a sudden she saw black dots dance in her vision, he had hit her with a club he had been holding in his hand she realized. All of a sudden she felt herself drop to the ground, something wet dripped on her arms. Lifting her hand up she touched her head and brought it back down to her face, she was bleeding badly.

'Tie her up!'

The man's men hurried to do the bidding and through the red haze she saw a beautiful woman looking down on her, it was then she realized that it had been her that had indeed given the order to have her tied up.

'These strange clothes...I've never seen them. Explain yourself girl and maybe you can become my servant if your lucky.'

'I'm no one's servant and I never will be bitch.'

Meru stated that fact surprising even herself as she never spoke in that language. Feeling something hit her head again she barely felt it because she had started to pass out. The last thing she remembered was cold hangs grabbing her wrists and putting something hard and rough around them, rope maybe? Meru did not think about it any further as she went unconscious...

*

'Get up maggot!'

'What...'

Meru mumbled as she picked her head up biting her lip as she did so only remembering what had happened. By recalling the earlier events that had happened she shot up, mentally slapping herself in the forehead as she did so. Meru was pretty sure she had at least two humongous gashes on the back of her head that would need a hell of a lot of stitches. She didn't know where she was but all she knew was that she wanted to go home.

'Get up already you bloody idiot! Unless you want to die!'

Opening her eyes she stared at an old man in front of her with wide-eyed innocence and a somewhat dazed expression. Smelling smoke she started coughing.

'What's going on?'

'The vampires are attacking you fool get up and run for your life if you wish to see another day of light.'

Getting up slowly she started running blindly wondering if this was just a messed up dream she was in. So many things were happening that Meru wasn't sure what was going on. Stumbling over something she feel to the ground and saw that the fire was getting closer.

Scrambling to get up she saw a exit with fire burning all around it jumping over a piece of wood she made it outside and fell to her knees panting.

'Princess!'

Looking up she saw two men running toward her, one of them handed her a blue stone that started glowing in her hand as soon as she touched it and the other one lifted her up bridal style. Before she could ask what was going on she felt her eyes start to close and feeling secure enough where she was fell asleep.
