It had been six months since his parents divorce, and 7 year old Miles was getting along well enough. the height of summer had passed and he would be returning to school soon but his father had decided that before he went back to his mothers for school he would take him out for a bit of a vacation. His father decided to take him to a small lake side community in the mountains for some fishing and fun. They had been out on the lake all day, they had seen many fish but none where biting and his father was about to return to shore for lunch when Miles’s bobber dipped below the surface of the crystalline lake. Miles's eyes went wide and a smile crept over his lips as he did as his father told him, jerking the line to the side to hopefully set the hook and calling back to his dad,

"Dad I got a bite!" the older male blinked and coughed, shaking off the affects of his nap and sitting up in the boat, adjusting his wide brimmed hat.

"Wha... what's that son? A bite?" he grinned a little more and set his rod down in the boat, moving over beside his son to watch him reel in his first fish. "Now... don't go too quick, let the fish tire itself out a bit." the fish fought hard as the boy tugged on the line, before it suddenly pulled much harder dragging the boy overboard. Miles took one last gasp of air as he let go of the rod too late, being pulled under before he could react, rubber boots filling up with water as the 7 year old was dragged farther and farther down, like an anchor he dropped into the blackness of the deep lake, looking up at his father and his silent screams, his heart thumping hard in his chest as he struggles to swim upwards. A creature just smaller then the boy watched him, still pulling a hook out of its cheek. Miles struggled more and more, falling deeply into the inky darkness, his eyes finally adjusting as his breath burned in his lungs, his body screaming for air as he began to grow lightheaded, unable to swim up unable to stop his descent, but soon he spotted the creature. The creature swiftly swims over to him swimming around him. Then it pressed its muzzle against the boy's mouth forcing air into his screaming lungs. The boy gasps and clings to the creature, breathing and locking eyes with it, his hands shivering as they play over soft scale, the water carrying away his tears as he finally realizes that he is going to live, all thanks to what looks like a funny kind of fish. The creature begins to grow a little as it changes, growing webbed feet where fins once where and fur along its back. It uses its hind feet to kick the boy's boots off and pulling him towards the surface. the boy hugs close to the creature, not wanting to slip away into the depths again, pressing his lips to those of his damp guardian angel and letting himself be drawn upwards, repeating over and over in his mind 'thank you, thank you, thank you.' The scaly creature pulls away before flipping the boy around and pushing him with great force to the surface with its paws. Miles hits the surface on the other side of the boat, gasping for a breath of fresh air and looking back behind him, seeing only a little ripple in the water as he softly licks his lips, his father grabbing onto him and hauling him up into the boat with ease. "Are you alright!? Oh god, Miles... I thought I lost you!" he pulls his son in close, strong hands holding the back of his soaked shirt as the big man tries desperately not to cry, so relieved he was to have his only boy back safe. The creature resumes the form of fish and watches the boy and his father from some distance. All the while it carefully rubbed the spot from the hook. Miles sniffs gently, holding onto his dad and deciding its best if he doesn't tell his father what happened, for the sake of the creature that helped him.

All he manages to whisper is a single soft phrase, "I don't wanna fish anymore, dad..."

his father smiles and nods as he turns back to the oars on the boat, taking up position and starting to row back to shore, "I’ll get you warmed up... and we can go out for some fish and chips... how does that sound?"

The boy turns to his dad for a moment and then back to the lake before giggling gently "no fish dad... just chips"

In the pale light of the full moon a young boy plays at the edge of the lake's shore. He giggles as he chases the wave's edge before going closer to the woods at this edge of the lake. He is running around the trees as he chases shadows and fireflies. slowly and silently Miles creeps towards the lake, a small paper bag clutched in his nervous fingers as he approaches the sounds of laughter, smiling gently to himself and watching a familiar creature play, at times he looked almost human and at times he looked like he had at the lake, like a little fuzzy lizard. The boy-creature leapt into the tree after a firefly giggling as he finally caught it in his hands. As he looked down and saw Miles standing at the base of his tree. Fear froze there as he concentrated harder on keeping up the appearance of being human. Miles was nervous but he smiled as well as he could manage, looking up at the creature as he saw only a little dragon now.

His arms holding out the paper bag as he spoke softly, "I... I wanted to thank you... for... helping me... you saved my life... I... I brought you something to eat..."

The boy-creature blinked as he looked down at the boy he had saved earlier that day, as he found his voice, "Dunnos whats yurs talkings abouts."

Miles giggled and shook his head as he fidgeted a little, "you're not a person... I can see that... you look like a lizard..." a smile crept over his lips as he reached into the bag and held out a candy bar, "if you don't want the candy you don't have to take it... I just... really wanted to thank you."

The creature blushes before jumping down as he does so he becomes the creature the boy sees. All silver scales, soft blue grey fur, big ears and long tail. "Nots a lizards, I'ms a dragons!" he declares as he looks at the child. His speech slurred as he speaks between small fangs, "no needs to thanks, it's ours jobs to saves yous..."

The 7 year old giggles and sits down on a nearby log, smiling and setting the bag down as well, "wow... I never met a dragon before! My name's Miles... what's yours?" Miles hands the dragon boy a candy bar and watches him intently. The dragon sniffs the candy bar before biting it in its shiny wrapper. Miles laughs and takes the candy back for a moment, pulling back the wrapper and smiling, "You gotta open it first silly... see... now take a bite." Miles took one candy bar out for himself and took a bite of his own, smiling and chewing slowly, glad his father had decided to spoil him today.

He sniffs again before taking a bite, a grin spreading on his muzzle, "Goods Goods! I'ms calleds Gin-Rai."

Miles nods and holds out his hand to the dragon. Being polite like he'd been taught, and being bright for a 7 year old. "Nice to meet'cha..." he says before munching on his own candy bar and smiling, "wanna be friends?"

He sniffs his hand before looking at him strangely, "be friends? Sures sures!"

Miles giggles a lot and takes the dragon's fore talon gently, shaking it, smiling softly at the cool feeling of his friend's scales before he speaks gently, "hehehe... wanna have another candy bar?"

He nods happily not sure why Miles had been shaking his talon before saying, "Mores mores candy goods!"

Miles laughs and passes his new friend another candy bar, smiling as he thinks about what he could do with his new friend. "Hmmm... we could play a game when we're done," He says with a giggle.

~~~
Miles suggested a game of hide and seek, the first time he had played with someone his age in a very long time, but they played, and got dirty and messy had more fun then either of them could possibly have remembered and at the end of it they shared a hug and swore they would always stay friends from this day onward. As the morning sun crept up over the horizon Miles reluctantly crept back to his cabin and into his bed, still messy and dirty but happier then he had ever been. His father, in the morning, was wondering why his son was so dirty but couldn't help but see how happy he was to be at the lake. Miles begged his father to take him back here every year and how could any good father resist? Each year his father brought him back, and each year Miles and Gin-Rai spent countless hours exploring and playing together, the young dragon taught his friend to swim like he was born to the water and the human taught his friend everything he knew about the world beyond the forests and the lake. However one year Miles never showed up on time... days passed and Gin-Rai saw no sign of his friend. The dragon couldn't know how his young friend had been suffering for so long. His father was hiding something from his entire family but he finally could hide it no longer, a youth spent smoking had ruined his lungs despite quitting long ago... and cancer finally claimed the strong man's life. Miles was heartbroken but still he knew he had to go back to the lake, Gin-Rai would be waiting for him, and he knew he needed his only friend more than ever now. He begged his mother up and down to take him to the lake but she refused, she was too busy with work to even notice Miles most of the time. so finally in a fit of rage he gathered up the most important of his belongings and some money that his father had left him, leaving a note for his mother he struck out on his own, taking several days of busses and hitchhiking to finally reach the secluded lake. Gin-Rai to say the least was very upset and the lake had been deserted by the humans. Gin-Rai had taken his frustrations out on the people; flipping boats while people where in them, untying them at night and even scarring off animals from the area around the lake. Some of the more superstitious people said it was evil sprits, others just said it was bad weather and human error. The full moon shown bright on the lake as Gin-Rai set about untying several boats from the dock nearest where his friend had used to stay during the summer. silently, as Gin-Rai had taught him, Miles approached the cabin where he stayed, the light of the moon illuminating his path as he looked over the lake's calm surface for any sign of his friend, heart pounding in his chest as his mind still staggered to make since of what had happened and what he would find, he was weeks late from his yearly visit and he hoped he wasn't too late to see his friend again, nothing else mattered to the young boy. Gin-Rai had taught him well and the dragon did not hear him until the boy was at the shore of the lake. The dragon didn’t recognize him, as the stress at changed him.
Miles dropped to his knees, a smile on his lips and his eyes overflowing with tears as he managed to breathe softly, "Gin-Rai.... I... I’m sorry I’m late..." the 14 year-old's eyes seemed changed, as if some of his innocence had been shredded away, leaving someone who was old beyond his years. His mind reeled as he wanted so badly to say a million things at once, not knowing where to begin.
The dragon looked up at the human boy his eyes wide before speaking, "Miles... what happened?"
Miles smiles wider, tears cascading down his cheeks and falling into the water of the lake as he exalts at the sound of his friend's voice. "I... it's.... s-such a long story... I..." Miles sniffs gently and sits back on the soft sand, not caring if his clothes grow wet.
Gin-Rai pulls his silvery form onto the beach with the boy. He gently wraps his arms around the boy pulling him against his chest and says, "We have all night..."
He sniffs and throws his arms around his friend, shivering gently at the almost forgotten touch of his scales against his fingers. "Gin-Rai... my... my father... he's..... G-gone... I.... I ran away... to see you again... I... you're... all I really have now..." Miles tries to speak, choking back his tears as he clings to the lean and lithe form of the young dragon.
The dragon not knowing what else to do pets his friend's head and kisses his temples. "Saaa... it'll be ok... your dad is in the court of the dragon kings now..." his voice shaky as she continues to rub his back and shoulders.
Miles breathes in the gentle scent of his close friend, shivering gently as he pauses, pulling back ever so slightly and looking deeply into Gin-Rai's eyes, his hands shivering against the dragon's shoulders as a little confusion runs through him, the next moment was beyond even the young man's understanding, he just did what his body told him to do and leaned over softly, gently kissing his friend in return, upon the soft lips that had graced his 7 years ago. Gin-Rai falls back on the sand as Miles kisses him, strange sensations running through his body. His talons rub under his shirt idlely as he closes his eyes enjoying the feeling on his friend pressed against him. in one soft flash of inspiration Miles begins to draw every part of the puzzle into place, his lips still tenderly embracing those of the young dragon in his arms, the feelings burning softly within him as cried still, tears gently falling upon the cheeks of who he now embraced as a lover would. Miles knew in that moment... that he loved Gin-Rai... as something more than a friend. The young dragon breaks the kiss as she looks up at his friend his tears still falling one landing on his nose and on an impulse he licks it up. Miles smiles softly and blushes, his body trembling with nervousness as he softly holds Gin-Rai in his arms, cheeks reddening by the moment as he watches the dragon's reactions, trying to judge how he was feeling but seeing hints of emotions he had never seen in his childhood friend before. Gin-Rai looks at Miles a confused look in his eyes as he sees his friend from a new light. The moon light glinting off now much darker hair Miles looked so very different from the ash blond haired boy he remembered, the dragon could only think of one word to describe him and with out thought he spoke it, "beautiful..."
Miles blushed more, shivering softly and smiling still, his hands stroking softly down the back of the young dragon, a soft phrase escaping his lips, "y-you... are too... G-Gin-Rai... I.... I l-lo..." Miles struggled against his own emotions, part of his mind telling him the next words he wanted to speak were wrong and the rest telling him that the words were so very right.
Gin-Rai sensing where his friend's words where going kissed him with out warning. His talons gently rubbing over Miles back and neck as he spoke, "saaa... no words are needed, I feel the same."
Miles shuddered a moment and smiles warmly, returning the embrace of his newfound love, his hands softly playing over Gin-Rai's bare scale and silken fur. His eyes closing as he softly turned, laying on his side and bringing the dragon in closer to him as he says, "thank you..."
the dragon grins as he lays next to him, his talons still rubbing under the boys shirt as he speaks, "you look dirty and tired, you should come swim it'll make you feel better."
Miles grins gently as well and blushes as he nervously speaks, "d-do you... wanna help me get undressed?" Miles spoke softly and smiled, feeling so excited, and slightly aroused at Gin-Rai's soft caresses over his bare chest, not yet having developing any hair there. The dragon chuckles and grins as he helps his friend, slowly pulling off his shirt reveling the boy's sill bare chest, before moving lower and gently undoing the snap on the faded jeans. Slowly he tugged Miles's pants down taking the boy's boxers with them. He tugs on his now naked friend's hand and leads him to the crisp cold water. With a soft shiver Miles sinks into the water, swimming gently past his friend and letting out a gentle moan as his bare skin slides slowly over the body of the boy dragon. "Mmmmm.... swimming always feels better like this," he says as he keeps his head above the surface and smiles as he watches Gin-Rai with a smile. The dragon nods softly before diving under the water and swimming around the boy. his soft scales and fur brushing along the boy's legs as the dragon comes up a hare's breath away from the boy, there chests almost touching as Gin-Rai rubs a talon experimentally against the boy's hard nipples. Miles let’s out a gentle moan and shivers, still treading water like he had been taught his eyes half closing but still fixed on those of his dragon friend, a gentle human hand softly stroking down over Gin-Rai's chest pausing at his abdomen and rubbing back and forth with a little nervousness. Gin-Rai murrs as he takes his friends hands and gently directs them to a more sensitive area as he continues to rub the hard nubs with his talons. Miles shivers more and blushes as his fingers delicately play between his dragon lover's legs, working slowly over the vent there and blushing out of total inexperience. His voice soft moans as his nipples hardened as much as they were going to, enjoying the soft attentions of his friend. The dragon moans softly as his dragon hood soon pokes free of his vent. His mind in a foggy as he licks gently over the boy’s chest.
Miles shivers and slowly closes his soft skinned fist around Gin-Rai's dragon hood, stroking slowly as he sometimes does to his own, his boyhood throbbing gently in the cool water as he kisses slowly over Gin-Rai's ears in between kisses he says "mmmmm... y-you're... big." the dragon moans and thrust on instinct, the warmth of the boys hand drawing his cock out the rest of the way. Gin-Rai moans as he wraps his arms around the boy's chest. The swishing of his tail easily keeping him afloat, as he reaches on talon down to encircle the boy's own throbbing erection. Miles moans and pulls in closer to Gin-Rai's body, shivering gently at the brand new feeling of being touched so intimately by another person, he no longer cared if he was in love with a boy... and he didn't care of that boy wasn't even human, he just knew he wanted him and knew he craved the pleasure he was receiving. And he intended to return all that pleasure in full, softly stroking the dragon flesh in his nervous hand.
The dragon boy moaned again as the boy stroked him; his voice wavered as he spoke, "mmm... I I’ve watched humans... sometimes when they come to the lake late at night... they play with each other like we are, "he shivers and moans before continuing, "sometimes the parts of one goes into the other... they both seem to enjoy it... maybe... we could try that..."
Miles moans softly and blushes, having a vague notion about sex himself but knowing none of the mechanics, still innocent of it in a way but eager none the less. His lips meeting Gin-Rai's for a brief moment again before speaking, "mmm..... Ooooh... I would like that a lot..." Miles blushes and squeezes the firm dragon shaft softly for a moment, blushing and shivering as he realizes he's is about to become as intimate as he can with someone he really loves. The dragon nods as he sinks lower into the water. Pulling the boy's hands way as he pulls Miles against his hips the tip of his throbbing member pressed against his lover’s tight hole. Slowly he pulls the boy down on his shaft the water easing his entrance into his tight virgin entrance. Miles moans and shivers, blushing brightly and gripping Gin-Rai's shoulders tightly for a moment, the first entrance stinging and causing him to harden even further, the brief pain soon overshadowed by the wonderful feeling of being filled with hot dragon flesh, "Ooooh Gin-Rai..." he says with a moan. Gin-Rai nods, the wondrous feeling of Miles all around his dragon hood too much for words. He gently takes the boys member in his talons and strokes it as he slowly eases out before pressing deeper into his lover. Miles clings to the dragon, still in the cool water as his member is stroked, precum flowing slowly into the wonderful waters of the lake as he moans more lustfully, blushing brighter and wrapping his legs around Gin-Rai's body as well, shivering and licking slowly on his lover's neck, not knowing what else to do but relax and receive the pleasure his dragon was giving him. Gin-Rai's thrusts soon speed up as the small bulge at the base of his cock grows. His talons gently squeezing the boys cock as it leaks precum slowly into the lake. All the while the dragon moans and pants his eyes closed to the small glow showing from within the boy. Miles pants harder by the moment, moaning along with the dragon within him, his eyes closed tight from the increasing pleasure as he feels his climax growing closer by the moment, his precum mixing with the clear water as he relaxes totally, giving himself completely to his lovely dragon as he softly breathes into Gin-Rai's long ear, "Ooooh... Gin-Rai.... I.... love you... so much..." with that the dragon cannot hold out any longer as he thrusts one last time deeply burring himself inside the boy the bulge at the base of his cock growing larger and tying him to the boy. His head thrown back in pleasure as he roars not caring what humans hear him as he explodes inside his lover. Miles feels the hot rush into his body, shivering deeply and blushing bright, his eyes shooting open as he cries out as well, lips turned up in a joyous smile as his cock erupts into the cool waters of the lake, his body glowing still as the seed from his dragon lover is soaked deeply into his body, the simple act of giving him his innocence cementing the pair together forever. Gin-Rai moans as he opens his eyes to the soft glow coming from his lover. The glow soon fading from him to be replaced with soft pearl scales on his shoulders and hips. The scales spread and cover a good part of the boys back and his upper arms and legs, his ears also becoming slightly pointed. Miles smiles warmly and looks deeply into the eyes of his new love, a soft murr coming from his throat but the boy is in too much pleasure and warmth of the afterglow to notice his change, his slightly clawed hands stroking lovingly up and down his dragon's back.
Gin-Rai's eyes are go wide as he looks over his lover. The changes wouldn't be noticeable to most in the pale moon light but to his they stood out almost blindingly. A grin crosses his muzzle as he kisses his now mate before speaking, "you’re my mate now, look in the water you've changed."
Miles looked deeply down into the water, gasping and smiling wide as he clung tighter to Gin-Rai. his hand shaking as he buried his face against his lover's neck, "Ooooh Gin-Rai... this is amazing..."he murred warmly for a moment, before giggling and looking down into the clear water once more, tracing a talon slowly over his new features and blushing as a small foot long tail wiggled against his backside, "I... think I even have a tail..." he said with a blush and smile.
The dragon chuckled as he rubbed over the small tail. The knot at the base of his cock slowly shrinking as he spoke, "yes you have a tail... mmm what will we do? Humans will come looking for you."
He shivered a moment as the cold of reality slowly caught up with him. His voice filled with worry as he speaks, "uhh.... I... I don't know... I never thought that far... I just... needed to be near you... that's why I ran away... w-we could... hide... hope we're never found?"
Gin-Rai kisses and shakes his head, before saying, "we can’t hide... my family won’t allow me to bring you back. I do have an idea so we won’t have to be apart ever again..."
He kisses back and nods softly, blushing and looking slightly worried as he speaks, "w-what do you have in mind, Gin-Rai?"
The dragon grins as he speaks, "well I can change into the form of a koi fish... you could take me home and I could live with you... my family used to live in a small pond in a country far away."
He smiles and blushes brightly, "b-but... how could I hide this?" Miles points gently to the markings along his body and to his small tail, swishing nervously in the water behind him as a shiver runs up his spine, as he speaks. His lover finally slipping out of him, leaving him, feeling empty again.
Gin-Rai kisses him softly before speaking in a hushed tone, "you should be able to even if you can’t with clothing you can with magic."
Miles nods gently and kisses back, blushing warmly and giving a soft nod as he speaks, "r-right now... I think... we should get a little rest... it looks like nobody is around the lake at all... all the cabins are empty."
Gin-Rai blushes deeply at that comment before replying, "That maybe my fault... I was angry when you didn’t come to see me... I took it out on the humans..."
Miles blushes softly and shivers a moment before speaking, "you... didn't hurt anyone did you?" Miles hopes secretly that Gin-Rai had shown some restraint.
"No... No one was hurt... I couldn’t have hurt them even if I had wanted to... my family is sworn to protect humans." he said softly as he kissed Miles again.
Miles kisses back with more than a little relief as he holds close to the soft dragon, "that's a relief... but... you... were really that upset when I didn't come see you right away?" he said laying on him.
The dragon shakes his head as he swims on his back, "I was worried at first, but after a while I thought you had forgotten about me..." he says with shame in his voice.
Miles smiles and murrs warmly again, softly kissing Gin-Rai's chest, "I could never forget about you... I... I think I’ve loved you for a long time... even before I knew what it meant..." he says with a murr.
Nods softly as he gently bumps into a dock having brought the both of them where they had started. Before pulling the boy up to the shore. "Bed sounds nice... I’m curios to see what a human home looks like..." he says with a grin on his muzzle.
Miles giggles gently and nods as he slowly gathers up his things, bending over and showing off his rear end unintentionally to the dragon as he bundles up his clothes, "I kinda... kept a spare key we were given for the cabin I stayed at... didn't tell my dad... I said I lost It." he says with a grin.
Laughs and noses his shoulder before speaking, "your as bad as me!" laughs some more as he pushes Miles to the cabin waiting for the boy to open it. As soon as it's open the dragon bursts inside and flops on a bed. A grin on his muzzle as he pulls Miles to him. The two soon falling asleep curled against one another.
Morning soon found the boys and preparations where made. Miles found a large jar and lid so he could transport Gin-Rai until he could get him home. His mother soon showed up to find her son. She knew he would go here and was surprised when he showed her his fishy friend.
Life was certainly interesting from that point on for the young man and his funny kind of fish.
