Fan Fiction ❯ A girl was singing... ❯ One-Shot

A/N This is not mine. It is freely translated from Russian. The author (Alexander Blok, if anyone cares) wrote a beautiful poem about a girl singing in cathedral about ships lost in a distant land. I made it different - as the girl stands on a ship. Why? Because I felt like it… And because it refuses to rhyme otherwise -_-
I will probably re-write it some time later to make it closer to original and to smooth-out some angles.
Any comments are welcome and appreciated…

The girl was singing amidst the ocean,
Of all the tired in foreign lands
Of heavens love and of earth's devotion,
Of God's forgiveness and loving hands
.

The ship was silent and storm was raging,
Her voice above yells of gusty wind:
When everything's lost and your heart is waiving,
His grace remember and start to sing…

The ray of sun came through darkest cloud.
It shone so bright on her tiny head.
She made them cry and she made them proud,
She saved the hope that was almost dead.

And all believed that happiness coming,
That quiet bay just a breath away,
That up in a kingdom, where sun is shining,
After this storm they all will stay.

Her voice was so sweet and the ray so shiny,
But high up at heaven's above the storm,
Knowing the truth, a child was crying,
That no one will ever be coming home.
