A Storm's Lullaby For My Daughter
The woman holding an bundle of blankets walked over to the wooden rocking chair in the corner of the light blue room. She sat down with her young baby daughter in her arms. Rocking back and forth, trying to put the upset child to sleep. Humming an song as the storm outside continued to roar.
Little child
be not afriad
the rain pounds harsh against the glass
like an unwanted stranger
there is no stranger
i am here tonight
The soft voice was barely heard over the child's crying that was going on and off and the storm rustling outside in the dark. She was singing the song to calm to young bundle. Thunder and lighting crashed outside in the distance and the wind blew harsh. The tree outside the baby's window was slightly hitting the window.
Little child
be not afriad
though thunder explodes and lighting flash
illuminates your tear stained face
i am here tonight
The woman's young child was starting to calm a bit. Crying was ceasing along with the storm, calming slightly. As tired as she was, she didn't look or sound it. Rocking back and forth while singing the tone to her daughter in a clear voice with a peacefull look on her face made her look like she was not a bit tired. Continuing, she sang more of the song.
And someday you'll know
that nature is so
the same rain that draws you near me
falls on river and land
on forests and sand
makes the beautiful world that you see
in the morning
Little child
be not afriad
the storm clouds mask your beloved moon
and it's candle light beams
still keep pleasant dreams
i am here tonight
Noises were still going outside the window and in the distance, but all seemed quite in the little room, other than the mother's singing. The young girl's crying had ceased and she was drifting to sleep. Candles were up on the selves to light the room. With the storm that was going on the power had went out a time ago. Room was dim but still lit. The blue eyes of her daughter were drifting open and close, trying to stop the sleep dawning on her.
Little child
be not afriad
the wind makes creatures with our trees
and the branches to hands
they're not real, understand
i am here tonight
And someday you'll know
that nature is so
the same rain that draws you near me
falls on river and land
on forests and sand
makes the beautifull world that you see
in the moring
Music was quite as she sang closer to the ending. Her child was drifting closer to sleep as each minute passed.
For you know, once even I
was a young child
and I was afriad
but a gentle someone always came
to dry all my tears
trade sweet sleep the fears
and to give a kiss goodnight
Well now I am grown
and these days have shown
rains a part of how life goes
but it's dark and it's late
so I'll hold you and wait
till your frightened eyes do close
And I hope that you'll know
that nature is so
that same rain that draws you near me
falls on river and land
on forests and sand
makes the beatiful world that you see
in the morning
Her child, baby daugher, was now fast asleep in her arms. The morning was drawing close and the rain was stopping. Dawn was about to raise over the hills that was shown outside the window as well. She looked up to see her husband leaning on the door, giving her a smile. Smiling back, she finished the song.
Everythings fine in the morning
the rain will be gone in the morning
but I'll still be here in the morning.
Getting up gentlely from her seat as to not wake the child in her arms, she walked acrossed the room. Laying the child in her crib gentlely, she walked over to her husband. Giving him a smile peck on his cheek as they walked to their room across the hallway.
Looking once more out her daughther's window, she saw the last of the raindrops fall to the ground from the remaining grey clouds. " The rain will be gone in the morning." Her voice soft as she said the last words on her mind. She walked in her room for some well needed sleep as her daughter slept peacefully in her bed.
This song is really pretty. I forgot who sings it but still. Well I hope you guys like this story and give me some reviews. Well thank you!
