Authors notes- Okay, this is going to be the second to last chapter in the Artirion saga, the next one will also be very short in all likelihood.

 

Friendly Fire

 

Robin: Artirion, are you okay?

 

Artirion: Yeah, I'm fine.

 

It is midnight and the Titans have just arrived at home, after Slade ruined Raven and Artirion's wedding everything went to hell, Artirion tracked Slade to his hideout and brutally slaughtered him, Raven is shaken and sleeping but the other titans are wondering if Artirion is not being possessed by his demon personality but after an hour of questioning they seem satisfied that he is okay.

Artirion: Can I go to bed now?

 

Robin: Go and get some sleep, you look like you need it.

 

Artirion: Thanks, night. *He waves slightly in farewell and walks out the door.*

 

BB: You dudes think he's okay?

 

Robin: He's not nearly okay but I think he'll be okay after a good night's sleep.

 

Cyborg: I don't even think he was sorry.

 

Robin: No, he wasn't, that could mean he has a bloodlust; we might need to watch him a little closer. Although, I still stand by Raven's faith in him.

 

Artirion is walking down the hall toward His and Raven's room but as he is about to open the door he has thoughts, he remembers the look she gave him right after he cut her loose, the fear in her eyes was unmistakable, he dropped his hand.

 

Artirion: I'm not what she needs right now.

 

He heads off in the direction of the guest room, with the intent of sleeping there. Inside the room Artirion just forwent entering Raven lays awake thinking of what happened just two hours ago.

 

Raven: *Thinking* I hope nothing is wrong with him.

 

Starfire is sitting in a chair next to Raven's bed watching over her supposedly sleeping friend.

 

Starfire: Friend Raven, have you awakened from your sleep?

 

Raven didn't answer, she wasn't ready to listen to her friends endless badgering, and asking if she was alright. In truth she didn't know, but she did know she and Artirion would be having a long talk tomorrow. The next day Raven realizes that she has slept alone, and wonders why; she goes to the rec room and sees everyone standing in a cluster.

 

Raven: What's wrong?

 

BB whirls around and hides his hands behind his back, they all look quite disconcerted.

 

Raven: What's wrong, you guys are all acting like the goldfish died.

 

Starfire: Don't worry everything is joyous on this day of sunshine and roses and……………….. *She is silenced by one look from the disgruntled Raven*

 

Robin: Well, it's just that……………Oh never mind, it's nothing.

 

Raven: Tell me.

 

BB: Don't worry about it.

 

Raven: Tell me now.

 

Cyborg: Don't worry Rae; it's just a little hitch.

 

Raven decides not to argue anymore she just uses her powers on all of their shoes and flips them so they are hanging head pointing down about three feet off the ground.

 

Robin: Raven, put us down.

 

BB: Yeah Rae, c'mon.

 

Raven: Tell me what's wrong then.

 

BB looks sad and finally pulls the object from behind his back and she sees that it's a little piece of paper, with writing on it that is in Artirion's not very neat script.

I'm sorry Raven; I have to leave for awhile. I'm afraid I'm becoming a danger to you and the team, I'll be back once I know I can't hurt anybody.

Raven reads the note over once or one hundred times she doesn't know which and then she crushes his note in her hand. Suddenly all the titans fall on their heads as Raven looses concentration. She walks down to her room and sits on her bed to meditate, Sorrow is starting to beat Curiosity away from the body controls, and she knows she needs to subdue her emotions.

 

Raven: Azarath Metrion Zinthos.

 

~~Three days later~~

 

Zoink-Zoink-Zoink-Zoink-Zoink

 

Robin: Titans trouble

 

The titans All gather in the main room, as their leader types on the keyboard.

 

Robin: A robbery in progress at the………………………Jump museum of poetry?

 

BB: A criminal poet, ha.

 

Robin: Let's go.

 

As they arrive at the museum they are met with a mind-blowing sight, a man in a black suit, with no mask, and carrying a most ornate golden staff.

 

Artirion: Ahh, my old friends.

 

His voice is not that of the normal Artirion, the serious guy with a humorous undercut; this voice was riddled with mockery. Raven looks into his eyes yet again and sees the insanity that he had pushed back now stood at the front of his eyes controlling him and leaving him a criminal bent on destruction.

 

Robin: Artirion, what are you doing?

 

Artirion: I'd think it was obvious, I'm robbing the museum.

 

Robin: But why?

 

Artirion: Because I wanted to, these are the greatest poets of all time. *He smiles in mockery of the Titans.*

 

Artirion rushes them his speed and strength are incredible. As he dodges in and out of their attacks he is lightly clubbing them with his staff obviously toying with his opponents, the only one he doesn't see is his former wife to be.

 

Artirion: Where are you, Raven? Don't you want to see your fiancé?

 

Robin silences Artirion with a sound kick to the face but Artirion's head just turns.

 

Artirion: Well Titans, I think that's enough for today, goodbye for now.

 

Artirion makes a final mocking bow to the Titans and melts into the ground.

 

Terra: What was that?

 

Robin: I don't know, but we'll find out.

 

Raven: I know what happened. *She comes out of an alley where she had been hiding obviously afraid or unwilling to fight Artirion.

 

Robin: Let's go back to the tower to discuss it.

 

The Titans make their way back to the tower to decide what to do, Raven is riding in the T-car because she just can't fly. Robin is beginning to have serious worries about her, he doesn't know how many more hits to her mental stability before she cracks like Artirion did.

 

Robin: Raven, are you okay?

 

Raven: The man I love just tried to attack and/or kill me, how would you feel?

 

Robin: Stupid question.

 

As they drive Robin notices Raven continually fiddling with her ring, until she finally shakes her head, plants her hands firmly in her lap, and sighs.

 

When they get into the Tower and Raven has drunk about three cups of tea she finally tells them her theory on the situation.

 

Raven: I think that when Artirion killed Slade that it let loose his demon side and the demon side is now scrambling his judgment. The bad part, I don't know how to fix him.

 

Robin: Well we'll have to take him to a secure facility, and then we'll concentrate on curing him. Right now I want to know how you're doing.

 

Raven: I feel pretty mixed up, this is all so bad, and I don't know what I'll do now. All I know is; I need to meditate. *She walks from the room to seek the solitude of her own room.

 

Cyborg: What do we do?

 

BB: We take Artirion down.

 

Terra: Yeah, we need to go get him.

 

Starfire: But how do we defeat him he is so powerful, he was just enjoying attacking us the last time we did battle.

 

Robin: We need to find his weakness.

 

Cyborg: Dude, doesn't have one.

 

BB: *In a tone almost inaudible* That's not entirely true.

 

Raven is muttering her famous phrase.

 

Raven: Azarath Metrion Zinthos.

 

Suddenly she gets a strange feeling, like someone is trying to contact her, telling her to go and stand outside the front door. She gets up against her better judgment and walks from her room. As she reaches the front door she finds that all the other titans are following her, had they called to her, had they attempted to get her attention, she didn't care her entire being was focused on getting out that door. She is standing on a rock just outside the door looking up at titan's tower, suddenly something flashes past her head and lands firmly in the ground she takes a moment to look at it and screams as though she had just seen Satan himself.

 

Robin: Titans go!!
