Prologue

The ship fell from space, its trek across the galaxy coming to a close. It landed on a volcanic island in the Pacific.

On board the ship, among the dozen of egg-shaped objects, a monster stirred. It moved jerkily, as though it hadn't moved in years. But it got used to the movement.

Outside the ship, a wail sounded from within. The ship had landed on the side of the volcano and part of it stood out. The volcano was surrounded by a small forest and a beach. The perfect hiding spot.
