Chapter 1: Your Late

A child laughing could be heard as a small boy and girl jumped around in the dancing leaves that blew by with the wind. Two mothers smiled at their kids nodding there heads lightly as they listened to there husband banter on about something they could probably care less about but because they loved them, listened to anyways.

A group of teenagers laughed lightly as they sat on the docks watching fish jump out of the water and the waves roll back and forth in a lazy tired manner. It almost made Jared want to yawn as he watched them. He wasn't with the group of laughing teenagers of course, or with the little kids playing in the leaves. He was standing under a tree near the docks alone with an impatient look in his yellow cat like eyes as he glanced down at his watch every few minutes.

The wind blew by again ruffling the boys messy silver hair and he let out a small sigh as he stood up straight and started to walk away from the tree and slowly to the docks to stare into the clean depths of the water.

Sometimes he just wanted to fall into the water. To fall in and leave everything behind him. Life seemed impossible to live at times. Impossible and stressful. Stress, something know 14 year old boy should have to feel but for Jared he couldn't help but feel it everyday.

He wasn't oridinary like most teenager. He was actually a royal prince* for his country, something he wished he wasn't everyday of his life. Specially with the war spreading all over Terra, his home.

"One day..." Jared whispered to himself under his breath as he kept his yellow eyes on the water. "One day I'll leave. I'll leave and lead a normal life... just... will you be there with me?"

"Will who be with you were?" A voice asked softly. Jared let out a small yelp at hearing the voice and turned around to face the person who had spoken to him. Crimson colored eyes stared at him in silent concern at seeing the surprise look fade from the young boys face and turn into one of tiredness. The man was known as Riku.

"Nothing... I was just... your late you know." Jared said glaring angerily at Riku who just gave a small smile in return at the boys attempt to change the subject.

"I know. I was held up though, but I am here now and thats all that matters." Riku told him as he walked up beside him on the docks and stared into the waters.

An uncomfortable silence fell on the two and Jared couldn't help but shift nervously in it. He never liked silence, it was always a sign of bad things to come to him and he would do anything to break it.

"So did you hear the news yet?" Jared asked lightly remembering the bits of conversations he had heard earlier at the palace.

"Heard what?" Riku asked curiously as he looked up from his staring to look at Jared.

"The----"

"Riku" A voice shouted interrupting Jared before he got a chance to get any further in his sentence. A girl came stumbling forward in a rush and latched herself onto the long white haired mans arms with a urgent look in her eyes. Not at all noticing the Jared who was currently looking at the two with confusion.

"Aira.. whats wrong?" Riku as he made a small attempt to shake the girl off his arm but stopped finally when he noticed that it wouldn't work.

"You have to come with me now... its urgent the Cry...stal...." She stopped as Riku glared at her and for the first time she noticed Jared standing there. "Um... I mean to say... My necklace has been stolen and I need your help in retrieving it..." She laughed nervously as Riku suddenely turned a pale color, paler then normal for the albino.

"I'm sorry Jared but I have to leave, I'll stop by later though if I can." He said as he took off with the girl leaving Jared standing there alone nevering noticing the look of confusion turn into one of pain. The young boy sighed as he turned around and stared into the water once again.

"I'm fooling myself..."

I don't like how that is. I mean what I originally wanted to do was make a small converstion between the two but then what I wanted Riku to say in this conversations wouldn't make since because it wouldn't of happened till after the Crystal in escape was stolen, and then it still doesn't make since >< yanno what this whole peice of crap doesn't make since what so ever.

Oh well. Anyone wanna guess on Riku age? I know I said Jared was 14 but I never said Riku age I just said he was an "Older Man". I mainly wanna see how old people think he is ^^;
