Up in Flames

"Come on! lets MOVE!" shouted Robin as the approached the house.

"This looks bad," Beast Boy muttered, and sadly to say, he was right. The house, that the Titans had received that cryptic threat from, was now in flames. A lone figure stood in the middle of the blaze,only to be joined by a smaller figure.

"Slade" Raven scowled.

"But, whats the little one?" questioned Cyborg. But it was to late, the figures disappeared into the smoke, and burning ash.

"Uggggg!" grunted Robin angirly,"Whoever they are, they're gone now, search for survivors!"

"But the dwelling is still ablaze" Starfire pointed out.

"Not for long"stated Raven. She then used her powers to isolate the flame, and starve it of oxygen. The dancing fire slowly died away into ash, inabling the young heros to surch the the now charred house. Though the two-story hause was still standing, it was on its' last legs, threating to give way any moment.

"Star, Beast Boy, and I will take the upstairs. Cyborg, Raven, you guys take the first floor" instructed Robin, and the team willingly abliged.

 

UPSTAIRS

Starfire and Beast Boy went in the opposite direction of Robin, seeing as he was taking the shorter end of the long hallway. He darted in and out of the rooms, calling for anybody, and looking for any unconcious victims. He finally came to the last door in the hall, finding nothing before, not expecting to find anything here. He wondered where the family ran to? If they were even home? But why would Slade call them out to an empty house? He turned the plastic knob of the door and opened it. There in the corner was a shivering girl. She had an odd glow about her, and seemed to be scared out of her wits.

"I'm Robin of the Teen Titans" he began "I'm here to help, just come with me, and-"

"NO! NO! DON'T COME NEAR ME!" she seemed almost hysterical "BRAD! HOW COULD YOU??!" Robin noticed she was hurt, bad. If she didn't get help soon, she might die of blood loss."STEPHIE, STOP WATCHING FOAMY, ITS BRAD!" he had no idea what a Foamy or a Stephie was. Then he noticed a charred name plate, by the side of her bed 'AUDIE'.

"Is Audie your name?" Robin tried to talk as calm as possible, not wanting to get her anymore shook up.

"WAYNE!! STOP KISSING ALLIE AND HELP CALLEN GET STEPHIE!!" tears were streaming down her face now, and with that, she passed out. Even before she hit the floor *a/n-hey, that rymes ^_^* he grabbed her and carried her bridal-style out of the room.

"Robin!" excalimed Starfire "You have found a survivor? Or is it too late?"

"She's alive Star, but barely"

"ROBIN!" it was Cyborg "We found something!"

"Thats how I found you"

"Wow, blushed Audie, I really said that?"

"Yea" answered Robin

"Listen, Audie- what Cyborg found...it was-"

"What?"

"Your family" Robin said gravely, "They were tied together and it looks like they died in the fire" he avirted his eyes to the floor "Audie, I-I'm really sorry, I know what its like to lose family"
