A/N: Thanks you to Lady_Fate and sango16 for reviewing it means so much to me!

And now on with the story!

Harry refrained from even so much as looking at the letter until the end of the summer holidays, still in denial that he had gotten *Snape's* daughter as a pen pal. This just couldn't be happening.

Occasionally he would consider writting a letter back to her and asking her if she knew anything else about her *real* father, before remembering that this was *Severus Snape's* daughter he was dealing with and he was pretty sure that she would be rather reproachful towards his questioning, if she was anything like her father then she would be a complete and utter bitchy Slytherin girl. No better not to reply until he absolutely had to.

Even though Harry had been owling Hermione and Ron all summer then he hadn't told them about the girl who replied to his letter, no matter how many times his two friends asked him to. He had always replied that he would tell them at school. No matter how much he disliked the idea of having to write *any* sort of letter to *any* Snape at all, then he just didn't want to miss the looks on his friend's faces when he showed them the letter at the beginning of term.

And now it was the beginning of term and a green eyed boy with messy black hair and a lightning bolt scar was kneeling on the floor of the smallest bedroom, number four privet drive, Little Whinging, Surrey, packing various strange looking books into a rather tatty looking faux leather suitcase, whilst a large white snowy owl made it's way round and round the room, hooting at the top of it's lungs.

"Hedwig, keep it down, you're giving a head ache." The owl hooted apologetically and landed on Harry's shoulder as he stood up and walked over to his desk.

Looking around in all the mess that had accumulated on the top of his desk over the summer, Harry quickly located his wand and threw it over to land on the top of his bed with a slight bounce, before he continued to look under the scraps of paper and doodles, for a certain letter written on pink 'Hello Kitty' muggle writting paper.

"Where is it!" He exclaimed, getting rather frustrated. Hedwig jumped off his shoulder and hooted indignantly at Harry for disturbing her sleep before flying up to the top of the room and perching on top of the wardrobe. "I need to show Ron and Hermione, I know that this is where I put it. It *can't* be lost. I t just *can't*!"

Only when harry threw the pens and papers from off his desk and onto his bedroom floor was he able to sigh in relief as he found the letter folded up neatly beneath a doodle he did of Ron and Hermione kissing. He laughed when he saw the doodle tucked it into his pocket along with the letter, ready to show Dean, Semus and Neville when he got back to school. It was so obvious that Ron and Hermione liked each other, or at least it was obvious to everyone apart from his two friends.

Harry ran his fingers through his hair, making a vain attempt to push the black mess back out of his eyes. Only then did he notice that now all his stuff was on the floor.

Dropping to his knees once more, Harry busied himself with tidying up his stuff.

Only a few more hours and he would be on the Hogwarts Express.

Harry Hauled his bag up onto the train, storing it safely with all the others, before turning back to the platform and scanning over the crowds looking for his friends.

Catching sight of five familiar red heads, Harry pushed his way through the crowds and over to his best friend.

"Ron! Ginny!" He came up behind his Girlfriend and wrapped his arms around the red heads slender waist, making her squeal in annoyance.

"Hello Harry dear, did you have a good summer?" Mrs Weasley asked him kindly, jiggling Ron's two year old sister, Kimberley, on her him.

"H-mm, It was all right I suppose. Dudley's girlfriend dumped him."

"How long was he going out with her for?" Ron laughed.

"Only for a couple of weeks."

"I bet she dumped because he was so fat." The red head laughed puffing out his cheeks, to imitate Dudley.

Kimberley laughed and Ron's impersonation before pointing to the left of the Family and yelling "'Mi'ne" as loud as her little lungs would allow her to.

Arthur called the brunette over to them. She was red in face and her school bag kept slipping off her shoulder.

"I've been looking everywhere for you!" She exclaimed as Ron opened his mouth to say hello. "Where have you been, come on."

"Come on what?" Harry demanded as she grabbed his wrist and pulled him off towards the train, Ron and Ginny trailing behind them.

"Look!" There was a large crowd gathered around the entrance to one of the compartments to the train. Draco was sitting alone in the compartment, without his burly bodyguards, Crab and Goyle for once. Pansy Parkinson, was trying to push her way through the crowd towards him but kept being pushed back by the people at the front.

Ginny stood on her tip toes, trying to see over the heads of the people in front of her, jumping up and down to get a better look, only stopping when she heard her older brother let out a startled exclamation of-

"He's Crying! Draco Malfoy is actually *crying*!"

"Oh my, what do you think is wrong with him?" Hermione asked, holding on to Ron's arm.

"Who cares?" Harry laughed, earning himself a furious glare from his girlfriend.

"Just because he's not.... well the nicest of people doesn't mean that you should laugh at him when he cries. If anything then that just takes you right down to his level." Ginny chided the two boys who were both trying hard not to succumb to the laughter mounting up inside them in fear of the wraith of Ginny Weasley.

They watched as Pansy Parkinson managed to push her way through the crowds over to Draco, only to be shoved away by the teary eyed blonde.

Draco pushed through the crowds and stormed off.

"Don't any of you *dare* follow me, I swear if you do then you'll wish you never lived" He yelled furiously back over his shoulder.

The crowd of students turned to watch him go but only Blaize and Pansy dared to follow him after the threat that he had called back at them over his shoulder.

The 'beep beep' of Harry's watch alerted them to the fact that it was now officially 11 o'clock, at the same time a whistle fired and the train jolted into action.

"Come on, lets go find a compartment. I want to talk to you about something." Harry told his friends over the sound of the students around them talking.

The four Gryffindors left quickly to find an empty compartment. In the end they stumbled across one solely occupied by Neville and Luna, the two of whom were officially dating, and saying a quick 'hi' they sat down and closed the door.

"Hi Neville, Hi Luna. Did you guys have a good summer?"

"Yeah I guess it was okay." Neville answered with a kind of one shouldered uni-shrug.

Hermione and Harry both noticed that Neville had got a lot bolder over the summer, and now had the guts to leave his arms wrapped around his girlfriend's waist even when someone entered the room.

The four Gryffindors quickly seated them selves and looked towards Harry curiously.

"Well, see I wanted to tell you about my pen pal-"

"Finally!" Ron yelled leaning forward to hear better elbows resting on his knees and hands clasped in front of him.

"-As I was saying!" Harry said pointedly, glaring at his red headed friend. "She, well I think she may be Snape's daughter."

::Oh I was so right to wait to tell them:: Harry thought happily, a smirk on his lips and his eyes dancing.

"Oh Harry! You can not be serious!" Hermione exclaimed a look of utter disbelief shone brightly from her eyes.

"When am I not serious?" He ignored Ron's amused snort.

"But- I mean- *Snape's* daughter- Harry It can't be possible."

"It is *possible*." Luna stated,

"Well that just *proves* that it's not possible!" Ron taunted his friend mischievously.

"How old is she Harry?" The dreamy eyed blond asked ignoring the insulting red head.

"14 just a few years younger than us. Look!"

Pulling out the pen-pal letter Harry handed it to Neville who took it silently as everyone looked over his shoulder to read it.

A few moments passed in silence as the other 5 occupants of the compartment read threw Harry's letter. Finally Hermione said in a small voice that wavered dangerously as she spoke.

"It can't be, it just *can't*!"

Neville, who hadn't spoken until now finally seemed to find his voice. "Somehow Hermione, I think it is."
