What I Am

I am darkness, swift and silent.

I wonder if light can reach through to me.

I hear nothing

I see nothing

I want nothing

I am darkness, swift and silent.

I pretend that light and love encircle me.

I feel the cold comforting dark surround me.

I touch nothing

I worry about nothing

I cry over nothing

I am darkness, swift and silent.

I understand that light may not reach me.

I say darkness rules all.

I dream nothing

I try nothing

I hope nothing

I am darkness, swift and silent.
