Chapter Four
August 14th, 2001 AD
Galaxy: 402BS2 - headed for 408BS2

"Would you look at that!" Seri called in awe, peering through the side window of our spaceship.
"What?" I asked, glancing up from studying Nai's notes.
"Over there!" The girl said excitedly. "I haven't seen a black hole like that in ages!"
I set down the notes on a table, and walked over to the window to join her. Looking out the right-side window, I could see a black hole - and from what it looked like, it was eating a star.. a normal sized one, but it was so far away I could hardly tell... but I knew a black hole when I saw one - at least when one was swallowing a star nowhere NEAR it's natural death. I'd been on enough space training sessions to have experienced at least three in my whole lifetime.
"That is kinda neat," I answered, going back to reading over Nai's pages of paper and books. "But that isn't important right now.. I'm looking at this - aren't you going to make dinner or something?"
"You want ME to make dinner?!" Seri asked, turning around from her window seat to face me. "You've GOT to be kidding!"
"Hey, hey! I'm busy trying to figure out WHERE on Earth to find uzi's and.. and.. nuclear warheads.. and.. anas's.." I blurted. Seri's eyes went from wide, to a quizzical stare.
"What's an anas?" She asked. "Another type of gun?"
"I dunno.." I said, flipping through Nai Tahcoo's notes some more. "But it's written all over the place.. way more than uzi's and nuclear warheads.. I don't think Nai was too serious about THOSE being transported... I think we'll have to start looking for anas's first.."
"Whatever.. I think I'll start making something.." Seri said, walking into the small kitchen. "What do you like? Sandwich's, or cereal?"
"That's all you can make?" I asked, looking at Seri with an 'oh, PLEASE' look on my face.
"Yeah!" Seri answered, bringing out the word. "It's not like.. I make dinner a lot! I usually come home and eat it, not MAKE it!"
"Whatever.. I'm ready for what you've got," I said in a tone that meant near death.
"Cut it out, I'll do the best I can!" Seri then changed her look to a smile. "Or can you do better?"
"I can pull apart a cow," I suggested. Seri just laughed like I was joking or something, and went back to start to make dinner, as I peered back down at the notes about Earth.

Yasuda
Galaxy: 403BS2

Yasuda furiously pulled at the controls, running around, searching frantically for emergency buttons. He was sweating, though not from the heat of the sun that revolved close to where he was being dragged forcefully... at least that was one good thing - the walls to his spaceship were heat-proof... at least the metal wasn't melting...
"Shit! SHIT!" Yasuda shouted, pulling at his collar and pressing all the buttons - none of them worked.. it was totally dead.. the black hole was closer, he was drawing ever so near.. "No, no, no!"
The man breathed shakily.. was this his end? He wished he wasn't the captain of the Zeans right now.. because he wasn't thinking of his own life at this moment - he was thinking of his people.. without a war leader.. without the plans, the mind, the skill.. Sure, they'd have others to fill in, but without his experience of fighting Geels for over seventeen years, his people would fall to their command.. become enslaved, slaughtered, tortured... The universe would be destroyed and enslaved as well... Life as they knew it would forge to exist ever again... He couldn't let that happen.. he couldn't die.. One death.. one universe..
Yasuda stared out the window, grasping the edge of the control panel, his fists turning white as he squeezed it harder, not even realizing it. There was nothing he could do.. damn ship was too outdated.. too old.. too weak...
"Heh," Yasuda laughed to himself, "One of these days, they won't let these things go out into space.. too dangerous.. someone could die."
FWOOSH!!
A sudden sound jolted Yasuda.. he peered out the side window, in desperate wonder if it was another ship...
To Yasuda's extremely GRATEFUL relief, surprise, and astonishing pleasure - it WAS another ship!! And it was latching onto his! He was saved! It looked like a Zean spaceship as well - it could have been some recruits wondering where he was.. those pitiful excuses for warriors! What would they do without him?
The war leader chuckled to himself, and finally let go of the control panel, which was bent from his own hands..
PWOOSH!
The doors to his spaceship opened, and Yasuda stood - expressionless.. emotionless.. except that his hopes sunk to his feet, and he tensed for the second time that day... and out stepped a group - of Geels.

"You know," I said through bites of my BLT, "this sandwich is pretty good. "Where'd you get the bacon from?"
"I found a pack in the refrigerator.. in the back," Seri said. "What... you didn't put it there?"
I instantly spit out my next bite of food all over the table. "AAK! Are you trying to poison me?!"
"NO! It was fresh enough! I checked," Seri replied as I sighed and took another bite. "Only had a little bit of mold on it."
BLECH!!
"Joking!" Seri fell over with laughter as I spit out my second mouthful of bread.
"Don't DO that!!" I raged, wiping my mouth with a napkin.
"Well, you shouldn't be too freaked out.. I'm sure you've eaten worse?" Seri guessed.
"Well if you're talking about training missions, yeah.. but we're not training right now, and it's different!" I let out a sigh. "But the POINT is NOT that."
It was silent for a few moments as we chewed out BLT's. Though, it didn't last long, and my friend broke the silence.
"So..." Seri said after swallowing, "Did you ever find out what an anas was?"
"Sorta.." I said, sneaking in another bite of sandwich. "I think.. it's a vehicle or something.. nevermind - I dunno."
"How many days do we have left of our extremely boring trip?" Seri sighed.
"Computer?" I said, "Approximate...?"
"Twelve days.." The computer droned.
"We've only been in space for two days?!" Seri gawked.
"Yep," I said. "But it's only actually been about ONE full day.. it's twelve-thirty at night.. August 14th."
Seri groaned. "How could I STAND thirteen more days? ARGH.."
"YOU were the one begging to go with me," I shot. "Besides - we aren't going for our comfort.. we've gone for the safety of the universe! We can't afford for ANYTHING bad to happen.. to anyone!! Or anything - or it would disrupt our mission."
"Yeah, I know," Seri grumbled, leaning back in her chair and finishing her sandwich. "But I don't think anything has changed from the way it was before. We just went out into space. You don't think the whole universe would shift it's pattern just because we left the home planet, do you?"
"No," I answered. "But we can't take anything for granted.. I swear I'm cursed - who knows? We could be headed straight for death, and we wouldn't have any idea."
"Yep," Seri agreed. "But let's just hope that's not the story. Let's say we're just going to another planet, on another mission... and this time, when we come back home - the war will be over, and our planet will be.. well.. ours again. Then our children can grow up without the heartlessness we grew up in - and let's hope they never have to fight. Ever."
"I like to fight," I answered bluntly. But I knew, of course, Seri was right. Words cannot affect people - yeah right. Whoever made that up, was pretty dumb to think so, because hope was one word that could mean either life.. or death.

"You are to be escorted to the dungeon chambers, YASUDA," a Geel sneered.. the captured war leader wasn't sure which Geel it was.. you can't tell the difference..
"I'm sure you'll be worth a lot.. maybe this way, you can think about how you have helped to destroy your race," another Geel smirked to Yasuda.
He had been captured - only glad to be alive for a while. The Geels took him, and dragged him to a planet they had long since taken over... near galaxy 403BS2... that's what was so familiar about it.. he had heard someone tell him that the Geels had stretched out to further galaxies, recently taking over three new planets.. he was on an unknown planet, simply referred to as 'mudball', or 'shit'.. but it was the second planet from the dying sun - HA! The Geels would soon have to evacuate the three planets..
Though in the meantime, the Geels were having other problems.. After much discussion, and much to their dismay, the Geels were ordered by the leader of that group NOT to kill Yasuda... the filmy thing must have recognized him.. and it told them instead to lead him to the dungeon for a while. He was to become a slave, making kui guns, and building advanced spaceships. Any sign of hesitation to help them, and they'd get his daughter.. (this bunch didn't know of the underground base on the home planet - so hadn't known of Kaita's whereabouts), and kill her. They, of course, had NO idea to where Yasuda's daughter was, but the lie worked on Yasuda, his eyes filling with fury, and becoming weaker at the mention of the threat.
The Geels told Yasuda that they had Kaita present on this very planet, and were ready to kill her at any moment of hesitation to follow their orders.
There was nothing Yasuda could do - the love for his family was too strong - his only weakness, but yet.. it could mean death to the entire race. He only hoped Kaita had the brains to figure out how to escape, and save the universe without him.. he knew she could do it.. even if he were to be worked to death..
"Keep it going!" A Geel growled, shoving a kui gun into Yasuda's back.. he instantly, reluctantly, sped up - fury racing through every inch of his body... if only he knew the Geels didn't have his daughter held captive right now.. he could have tried to escape himself...
Doom.. doom to his home, to his people.. he wished he could die on the spot- he regreted too much.. and he wanted nothing more than to be in his wife's comforting arms... his daughter laughing at his side.. more than anything, he wanted to see that Kaita was okay... at least Laasat was safe. Kaita was who KNOWS where - being killed, overworked, starved.. all these horrible thoughts came to mind.. and he knew he couldn't let anything happen to her.. if he did, he would regret it for the rest of his crummy life - that didn't seem to be worth much in the eyes of his sweet, young girl.
"In here!" The Geel with the only visible gun, grunted. Yasuda walked stiffly into the prison chambers, and was helplessly chained to the back wall, so he couldn't, by any means, escape if the story of his daughter didn't help to keep him in place.
All his hope was gone.. his strong, proud figure was reeking with desperation - he had given up. After seventeen years of fighting them - the Geels had won. After many victories, and close defeat.. he had finally fallen... this was it. This was the end.
The gates slammed shut behind the sniggering Geels - carrying away Yasuda's freedom.. his chances of survival, and the chance for the galaxy..
The steel-carved leader was down. His body slumped limply, his head hung in defeat.. there was nothing left to make him strong, except a flickering image of his daughter. The only thing that kept him alive, was the hope for his daughter, Kaita.. the proud, strongly built fifteen year old girl with a heart of gold.. as long as she lived - so did he. Under no circumstances would he die on her.

Kaita's House
Planet: Zea - Underground City

BAM!
Laasat's door bust open on her - she had been peacefully dreaming.. when a Geel stormed through her bedroom. Instantly, she awoke.
"Ahhhhhh!" She shouted - she couldn't say anything else.. she was speechless - a Geel.. in her own home! She was just in a state of shock.. but quickly recovered.
Laasat reached under her bed, frantically searching for her laser gun, but to no avail did she find it. "AHHHHH!!"
"Shut up!" The Geel growled, shooting Laasat with his gun - it wasn't a kui model, but it had enough force to be able to throw her against the wall, rendering her into a state of unconsciousness.
"Search the house for war plans!" The Geel that shot Laasat ordered three other ugly, slimy monsters.
Laasat groaned, and spat up a mouthful of blood, desperately reaching for her laser gun that lay only a few inches from her outstretched arm. A Geel kicked the gun out of her reach in one swift motion, shattering it with his DNA altered strength.
Laasat gasped as her last hopes of destroying these nightmares became useless.
"You aren't going to be needing that gun of yours anytime soon. It won't do anything, foolish girl. Your base is found, we're destroying it.. and you'll be the first to die - lucky, aren't you?" The Geel shrieked with evil laughter as the horrible sentence soaked in.. Laasat began to silently cry.. innocent people.. not fair..
"Oh, don't cry - it'll all be over in a few seconds. Then you can finally be with your friends," the Geel shot Laasat's struggling figure through the middle with a small blast that came from two fingers alone.. "IN HELL!"
The girl felt her life drain, and with a sob, blood running down the floorboards, she was still.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" The Geel cackled. "I forgot to tell you.. we're going to win this battle - yeah.. it just keeps getting better and better! Once we break through the forcefield of the planet Peig.. it's all over! ALL OVER!! Your war leader is as good as dead!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"
The tall, yellow figure kicked Laasat's dead body aside. "Destroy the city!! DESTROY IT!! Generals orders!!"
And as the Geel finally stepped out of the small, once peaceful house.. he grinned broadly. The light of fires reflecting in his hollow eyes.. the town was being torn down... screams of terror, and gun shots could be heard echoing off the walls of the large cavern. The smell of blood reeked in the air - and he took a deep breath through his nostrils, savoring the stench of defeat to the enemy...
And he could thank the little girls for it.. the little girls only a few years ago, that had ventured above ground.. The daughter of the war leader, Yasuda - and her little hypnotizing friend.. Seri. They had showed him the way to the underground city... they had showed the Geels to victory.
