Chapter Seven
August 26th, 2001 AD
Galaxy: 408AL4
Lee and Jaden

There were two of them... the youngest at age sixteen and stood five and a half feet tall. The second, seventeen and a little less than six feet high. Busy at the spaceship controls, the eldest worked away, wiggling nervously back and forth in his chair. He finally gave a deep sigh of defeat, and turned solemnly to his younger brother.
"We're lost," he grumbled.
They were lost. After a month already, they had been headed for a neighboring galaxy near their's, taking advantage of summer vacation. But about four weeks into their galactic fun, their communicators broke, and here they are.
"Give it up," the youngest muttered, leaning back in his chair. "I'm ready to take some risks and land on the nearest planet - the first planet we see." The boy peered out the window, glancing at stars... and blackness...
"What planets?" The older boy sneered.
"Aw, shut your pie hole, Jaden, this was all your idea," Lee retorted.
"You KNOW they said we shouldn't have.. they SAID we were too stupid to man the dumb ship," Jaden grumbled, banging his fists on the control panel.
"Heheh - yep, you ARE too stupid aren't you?" Lee smirked as Jaden gave him a hard stare. "Hey, hey! I'm just a firsty in this spaceship flying thing.. I'm too naive..."
"But you aced the first year class!" Jayden said.
"I forget.. My mind is all fuzzy... I've got a short term memory... ahhhh..." Lee grabbed his head and made sucking noises with his tongue.
"WHAT are you DOING?" Jaden asked his younger brother.
"My thoughts are being sucked from my brain! Help! Before it's too late.." Lee fell over in his chair and was still.
"ARGH!" Jaden slapped his forehead. "You're going mad... tell me - cabin fever? Some case of claustrophobia? You're scaring me."
"Shut up," Lee spat. "I was just trying to lighten the mood."
"Yeah? Well, one of these days, you gotta learn that you have to take things seriously! You hear me? This is not a laughing matter... we could be stuck out here forever!" Jayden lectured.
The color drained from Lee's face.
"Finally getting to you, am I?" Jaden looked smug, but Lee's eyes weren't on his older brother's. "You know, after sixteen years, I'd think-"
"Jaden - JADEN! WE'RE GONNA CRASH!" Lee interrupted, shoving a finger past Jaden's ear. The older boy whipped around, and in fact, they were headed straight for another spaceship.
"Ahhhhh!" Jaden freaked, tripping over his own feet and falling face first onto the cold, metal floor.
"Dock 'em! Dock 'em!" Lee cried, leaping over Jaden for the controls. "If we lock onto them, we can save our ship! That's the only way."
"Lee! That's illegal! We need to send a warning first! And-"
"Forget about that," Lee interrupted him. "Don't you want to get out of this alive?"
"Remember, they COULD be psycho killers," Jaden muttered.
"Too late now - no time to abort the docking process," Lee recited, "It's all ready to latch in less than a minute."
"Lee - that spaceship looks suspicious... it's newer than our model.. which means it must come from some advanced race! They could be bad.." Jaden shot.
"We can blow 'em up! Load your gun..." Lee grinned and latched onto the alien ship.
"Feh - oh fine.." Jaden reluctantly pulled his machine gun from the side compartment, loading it while grumbling.
PEW!
The door's slid open slowly, and Lee could hear muffled voices..
"Seri! I told you not to open the door!" A girl's voice shot.
"It's okay.. I'll blow 'em up if they make a move," another girl reassured.
"Heheh.. didja hear that, Jaden? I like that girl - it's like she heard me or something.. she thinks she can blow us up," Lee whispered.
"They probably can," Jaden growled, "They're more advanced than us..."
"Oh shut up and have some fun," Lee grumbled as the doors opened completely.
Inside the other spaceship, stood two girl aliens, and a boy. Both groups stared at each other for a while, probably shocked to see more humanoid aliens across the same galaxy.
"Whoa.." the boy standing next to the girls remarked. "You guys look like humans..."

"Do you know who these boys are?" Seri asked Anas, suspiciously eyeing the two with clunky guns.
"Of course I don't," Anas said. "And actually, besides the orange eyes and pointy ears, they look like pale Africans."
"Africans?" Seri sounded.
"A country on Earth," I answered shortly.
"Why are these people commenting our features?" The shorter boy asked the taller one.
"I dunno.. just go along with it.." the tall boy replied.
"It doesn't matter what you look like," I interrupted, scanning the boys for any other weapons on their dark workout pants and skin tight T-shirts, making their creamy skin look a bit darker than it really was.
"Are you ready to fight us or something?" The shorter boy asked, scratching the back of his neck, then running his hand up his head to take off his bandanna.
"Whoa.." Anas muttered again.
"What?" The shorter boy glanced over at Anas. "Never seen someone take off a bandanna before?"
"No, it's just.." Anas peered at his short, semi-curly hair, and what was slowly bouncing back up from being smashed to his head.
"Oh - I see you haven't got any antennae? No matter.. your own loss..." the boy smirked. "Anyway, I guess we should introduce ourselves before fighting you, huh? My name is Lee.. and this is my brother, Jaden," Lee shoved a thumb at the taller boy. "You may be wondering why our names are human.." this kid sounded like he'd been wanting to say this for a long time... "On earlier adventures, we came across a planet Earth, and it was pretty cool, so we shortened our names to Lee and Jaden.. don't ask how long our real names are, they're pretty long," Lee looked smug and shifted from foot to foot as he talked.
I balled my hands into fists.
"If you're such an eager opponent, I suggest you don't stall," I breathed, "And if you're going to fight us, please - use something more effective than THOSE primitive toys."
"Hey!" Lee muttered, a sense of humor in his voice. Jaden clutched his gun harder.
"Bring it on!" Jaden growled.
"Dude! Calm down!" Lee said, putting a hand on his brothers gun. "We don't need to worry - remember.. we're the intruders here."
I withdrew my miniature laser gun from my side pocket, taking one long step forward and shoving it right under Lee's nose in the blink of an eye.
"Why are you here?" I growled. Lee didn't move a muscle, but his carefree smirk turned down.
"Our ship was going to crash into yours.. and, uh.." Lee looked at my gun more observantly. "Are you really planning on firing that thing?"
"No.. you're too pathetic," I sighed and lowered my gun smirking a bit. "I feel pity for ya.. you're a lucky one."
"Hey!" Lee protested, but my arm holding the gun twitched ever so slightly, and he got the point and shut up. Then everything was silent.
"So..." Anas said absentmindedly.
"Don't you have to.. leave now?" Seri asked the aliens.
"Um.." Jaden shifted uncomfortably.
"We were kinda lost, and our communicators are dead," Lee said cheerfully.
"So what are you planning to do now? Your business is none of ours," I said.
"Oh come on! Please let us just use your communicator for a second!" Jaden shot.
"Come on, let them... the faster they do what they have to do, the faster they'll go," Anas said logically.
I hovered on the statement for a while, but finally agreed, letting the boys check our communicator and radar.
"Man - we've been stuck out here for a month!" Lee sighed as his brother studied the screen.
"It looks like we're pretty far off from our destination, huh?" Jaden said, pointing at the screen to where the galaxy they should have been in, was.
"Jeesh.. heheh - whatever. We can go back now, though. Thanks, um... what were your names?" Lee glanced at Seri and Anas.. he seemed to be trying to avoid eye contact with me.
"My name is Seri," Seri announced cautiously. "And this is Kaita, and Anas."
I nodded once as she said my name, and Anas waved a bit with two fingers.
"Okay - thank you - Seri, Kaita.. Anas," Jaden nodded once, turning to the hatch.
"Can you guys... open the door?" Lee asked, kicking at a closed wall.
A closed door? Was there a malfunction or something?
"That's strange.." I said aloud.
"What's strange?" Anas asked.
"It's just that the door's not supposed to close on it's own unless... uh oh..." I trailed off as Seri caught on.
"Oh no! No way! No.." Seri stomped around as Lee and Jaden bolted to the side window of the spaceship.
"AHHH!" The both shrieked, bouncing off the walls.
"Our spaceship's come unlatched!"
"We'll never return home!"
"It's gone! GONE!"
They were running around like lunatics! I watched Lee crash into the wall and fall to the floor, Jaden ran into a seat and knocked the wind out of himself... what kind of order was this?! It's not like we could help that their piece of junk ship flew away from ours!
"STOP!" I commanded over their frantic cries.
Both men froze.
"Uh.. that's better. Just - don't DO that, it makes things ten times worse," I grumbled.
"But what about our ship?" Jaden asked.
"Yeah, we're stuck here!" Lee protested.
"For now, all we can do is get ALONG," Seri said.
"She's right," Anas muttered, "You guys are going nuts."
"Look, after we've landed on Zea, you two can pick up a ship and leave to your home world, but there's nothing we can do until we get there," I said.
Jaden sighed and plopped down into the chair he had crashed into. "Fine - Lee - this will have to do. But whatever, we were going to be kicked out of the house anyway... heheh.. long story.."
Anas sniggered. "Kicked out?"
"Well, you see... we weren't really supposed to take this spaceship... and now that it's gone, let's just say that if the police don't get us for stealing, our parent's are gonna kill us," Lee informed, beaming.
"What got YOU so happy?" Jaden shot.
"Just think about it, Jaden.. this will take quite a long time, considering we were already gone for a month, and now our trip will be even more delayed... I've decided that if we're going to be dumped off into some scuzzy apartment by our ungrateful progenitors, I think we should enjoy ourselves," Lee answered. "Or maybe I'm just laughing at how screwed we are."
"Not so fast," Seri muttered.
"What?" Lee peered over at Seri.
"Huh?" Jaden leaned back in his chair.
"We're not traveling to have fun as you two obviously seem to be. This is a war mission - have you ever heard of the Bri?" I asked.
"B-bri?" Lee repeated.
"The Silver Angels? You know, the force against the Geels?" Seri looked at Lee and Jaden's faces.
"Hey, I have no idea what they're talking about either," Anas said, "But as far as I know, these two are intent on saving the universe from some evil dudes called Geels, and if they must kidnap innocent people from alien planets, then so be it," Anas trailed off, muttering to himself.
"Kidnap?" Jaden's eyebrows turned up.
"Anas is exaggerating... we did NOT kidnap him... he came with us because HE is supposedly the one who will help our race to victory... we were in the middle of testing him for abnormalities when you both disrupted us," I replied.
"Yeah, you forgot to add that you threatened to kill me..." Anas grumbled.
I just shot the boy a sadistic grin.
"Just a sec'.. go back for a moment there.. you said you're saving the universe from.. Geels?" Lee asked.
I sighed and decided to start telling the story from the very beginning...from when the Zean, Ganda, shot the laser, all the way to Nai Tahcoo's death, and then finally what we must do now.
After it was all out in almost twenty minutes, I breathed deeply and sat down in the captain's chair swivelling around in it absentmindedly.
"Whoa.." Anas remarked. "She never told me alla that..."
"So you're name is Ay-nus, huh?" Lee piped.
"Feh - funny," Anas sneered. "Why is that what everyone calls me? That really bugs the hell outta-"
"It was a joke, man! Jeesh.. just trying to lighten the mood... second time it hasn't worked..." Lee said.
"Well, jokes won't get you through a war, MAN," I smirked and continued to swivel in my chair. "It'll just get you killed sooner."
"Kaita..." Seri murmured, "Take it easy.."
I muttered as Jaden looked up from his looking at the floor.
"Hey, um.. Seri? Are you part of the Silver Angels?" Jaden asked out of the blue.
"Sorta.." Seri answered slowly. "I'm a back up for it if too many soldiers are injured or killed."
"Oh.. okay," he nodded, twiddling his thumbs and staring at the ceiling.
"Are we gonna have to fight Geels?" Lee blurted.
I stared at the boy for a moment or two, and stood up from my chair. "Only time will tell," I said haughtily, walking past the lot of them to take a nap downstairs.
"What's her problem?" Jaden whispered loudly.
Lee shrugged and watched me carefully as I stepped down the ladder to the bed chambers.

* * * * * * * * * *

I awoke silently, consumed by darkness. They had already turned the lights off.. everyone was in bed by now. I assumed it was about three in the morning, stretching and pulling the covers away from my body.
Yawning softly, I stepped over the dark forms of Lee and Jaden who had grabbed a couple of space blankets and were camping out on the floor with a shared futon-like thing. Deep in thought of dreams to win the ruthless war, and enjoying my foolish peace while it lasted until we returned to Zea, I climbed up the ladder, my muscles weak from sleepiness. I didn't feel like going back to sleep for some reason, and decided to get something to eat from the kitchen.
My feet felt frozen against the cold, metal floor which I padded on to approach the refrigerator.
Opening the small door, I was engulfed in light as I pulled out a packaged sandwich.
"Hullo Seri," I said, addressing my friend before even turning to face her. I heard her breathe in the silent air.
"Hi," the girl answered.
I turned to the silhouette of a stiff, tense person I had never seen in Seri before. "What's wrong? Couldn't sleep either?"
"Nope," my friend replied. I sat down at the table to join her in the dark. "I've been thinking... about all of this. A lot was screwed up, and now everything is beginning to come together... I'm started to think we can almost win this.. I have hope for the universe."
"I always had hope," I said simply. "It's not as simple as I thought it would be, but we can work things out." I offered a bit of my sandwich to Seri, who took it reluctantly and ate.
"I haven't eaten in days," Seri remarked.
"Me neither.. last meal I had time for was Anas' 'cereal' and only poked at that.. I just realized how hungry I am," I said, scarfing down the food.
"I know.. haven't had much of an appetite, but it seems these new kids are kinda fun," Seri said. "I stayed up and chatted with them, they're pretty nice... they really lighten the mood, but it doesn't help much."
We both sighed and stared out the window in silence, glancing at the far-away stars, and wishing they were as peaceful as they looked.

Yasuda
Galaxy: 307CC4

What was actually only weeks, seemed like months to Yasuda, as his strength finally gave out on him. All the Geels knew who he was, and worked him the hardest, spit on and whipped him the most, and gave him the least amount of food - barely enough to keep him living.
He was thin, weak, starved, bruised, bloodied, overworked, and unable to take another step. After only a few days of this slow, deathly torture, the strong battle leader had been reduced to a Geel's jester.
"So YOU'RE the captain of the WARRIOR race of Zea? Kind of weak, aren't you?" A Geel taunted, kicking the collapsed man in the side.
Yasuda gave no reply, so the Geel kept going, kicking the war leader with all of it's ugly muscles that covered it's slimy legs, knocking the wind out of him over and over, before he could recover from the last blast.
He willed himself not to cry out.. no sounds - not one.. don't let it win..
Yasuda clamped his mouth down hard as the Geel gave an especially vigorous foot to his side, causing him to roll sharply into a wall, though the creature kept going until Yasuda's ribs started to crack, and only when they began to scrape against surrounding organs, did he cry out at all.
"Oh, finally got one outta you, did I?" The Geel smiled maliciously, "I hope I didn't hurt you? Let me pop those back into place for you.." The Geel stepped down forcefully on Yasuda's ribcage, and was overcome with satisfactory as he heard many tiny crunches underneath his weight.
Yasuda gave a loud shout, and grasped his sides in an attempt to stop the killing pain.
"Know this, foolish Zean.. you feel this pain? That is the pain all of your race is feeling at this very moment! You're not alone, scum - the rest of your little Zeans are suffering.. all because of you! You couldn't protect your friends, your relatives, you little girl, your weak bitch, and those you never knew!" The Geel cackled in amusement, playfully shifting his weight on and off the man's ribs. "You don't know this, Zean, but I was there when our captain killed your wife. She was pleading for mercy, and offered the whole race in exchange for her own pitiful life! Her last attempt to save herself! Hahahaha!!"
Yasuda would have screamed at him to shut up, but was too busy coughing up blood, and could barely hear the evil alien over his own choking screams.
"Oh yes.. and your daughter... she looks just like you right now.. weak and ready to die! Very, very soon!" The Geel hooted with more laughter. "But it's okay, YASUDA. We're not going to kill her until you die. Her life is in your hands - the weight of the world is on your shoulders! Die, battle leader, so we can rid the universe of the last of your scummy kind! Ahahahahahaha!"
The Geel finished his speech, grabbing Yasuda by the foot and easily dragging him to his little personal cell, complete with chains so tight, he couldn't even attempt suicide. They forced him to suffer and die even so slower...
But the worst was his need to live at the same time as he was in this pitiful state. He didn't know what to believe - he only thought that his daughter was here somewhere, and he had to keep living for her... and his wife if she were still out there...
For now, the Geels were moving back to Zea, their 'base' to which all these slaves were going. Since the galaxy they had discovered had been consumed by a black hole, they had to retreat back to Zea, and were due back in only a week.
The spaceship Yasuda was on, stretched the length of four football fields, and held thousands of slaves and Geels. If any one of those Geels had a glimmer of an idea, any slight hint about the underground base, the military portion of the race was to be wiped out completely. What he didn't know, was that the underground base was far gone, along with all of it's citizens. And he didn't know that the weight of the universe wasn't in his hands. It was in his daughters. There was no way of knowing who would win the long war now, but it seemed that the Geels were given a huge burst of cunning that the Zeans could not surpass, though.. only time will tell.
