(Nicole)

"Oh, NO!" I screamed, waking Brian and Steve up as I jumped out of my tent, still dresed.

Brian was out before I even finished the word 'no' with Dracon beams in each hand. Steve was soon to follow, only he had the sense to use a human Firearm, his shotgun.

"What's wrong," Brian asked, still searching the woods for danger.

"What about the others?" I asked.

"What about them?" Brian asked, not getting where I was going.

"What if they know who the others are?" I replied.

"Oh, shit," Brian said. "We have to go check on them."

"How?" Steve asked, barely awake.

"Yeah," Brian added. "We can't exactly go on the ground. Controllers would spot us for sure."

"What?" I asked. "Its not like we could fly over." I saw the gears turning in Brian's head as I said that.

"Maybe we can . . . " He trailed off.

"What do you mean?!" Steve asked, very iritably. I couldn't tell if it was due to the alien invasion, the loss of his parents, his new life in the wood, or the fact that I woke him up. Maybe it was a mix.

"What I mean is, Elfangor gave us the power to morph right? If he really did, why can't we use it?" Brian answered.

"I thought we had to touch the animal first," I pointed out.

"True, but I'm sure Cassie's Wildlife Rehab Clinic has some sea gulls or pidgeons. Plus it only about a --"

"Five minute walk from here," Steve interupted

"Ok, lead the way boys," I said. "I don't know which way is which here."

"Probably 'cause you slept half the way," Steve said iritably. It was due to being woken up. Definitely.

"Or because you gave the sceneic route," I countered.

"Ok, ladies, lets go test these morphing powers," Brian said interupting the argument, and walking off, up a hill.

Me and Steve followed him up the hill and I was surprised at what I was seeing.

It was the back of Cassie's barn. Sure there was the field in between, but it was right there. I took the opportunity to point out an important fact. "You guys know our camp is way too close to here, right? Somebody could come see us any time."

"Don't worry, we know Nicole," Brian said with a smile. "That camp is just temporary. We're gonna get Cassie to help us find a good place to make a perminate camp."

"Okay, good," I said, relieved. "I thought I was gonna have to do all the thinking." I smiled at him and winked. I think he might have blushed a little, but I couldn't tell because he took that moment to turn the other way, looking at Steve as he talked.

"So, Steve," He said. "What morphs would be least noticable?"
