Bonds Beyond Worlds
Prologue: And I Will Find YouSPOILERS!!! Warnings: There will eventually be fighting, blood, and shounen ai, possibly yoai (Riku/Sora)'s Notes: This is set a few weeks after the end of the game. If you haven't finished it yet, there's lots of spoilers so you might want to wait. If you don't like yoai, I wouldn't worry too much yet, it's not gonna happen for a while. I don't own Sora, Donald, Goofy, Al Gore or any character in the game. If I did, I wouldn't be writing this. I'm not making any money for this, so don't sue me. All I own is a beat up laptop and a crappy play station. It's hardly worth it.
Sora was pacing anxiously around his rooms. He couldn't explain the restlessness he felt. When he, Donald, and Goofy had gotten that letter from Mickey, he had been all set to search for Riku and Mickey until he could look no more.
Goofy and Donald had disagreed, and insisted they rest and get their bearings before setting out again. Or at least that's what he thought Donald said. Goofy had had to clarify for him. He went along with it, it did make sense, but he wasn't happy about the delay.
Now it was two weeks later and they were still here. He was going stir crazy, the novelty of hot baths and soft beds had worn of by the fifth day. It seemed to him that all this sitting around and resting was doing nothing but letting the trail go cold.
Donald and Goofy had merely said that he would cool off and soon enough he would be missing such comforts.
Aggravated, Sora flopped back onto an overstuffed chair. He was trying to pull his thoughts together but they were like flighty pigeons, refusing cooperate. He was supposed to have dinner with the queen and then an audience, so that she might have a first hand account of what happened. As if she didn't already have three and more gossip than what she knew what to do with.
Sora leapt out of the chair in a fit of restiveness. He began pacing again. These thoughts weren't helping him. If only he had Kairi or Riku to talk to. Actually, scratch that. Kairi wouldn't be much help, she would only tell him that he needed to tell as much as he remembered and that was all the queen would want. But Sora had a feeling that she would want much more than that.
Riku, well, useful as Riku might have been, he was locked up in Kingdom Hearts somewhere and probably wouldn't want to talk about what happened. Sora wasn't even sure he did.
Sora clenched his fist. If only Donald and Goofy hadn't decided to take extended vacations in the middle of a crucial quest, he wouldn't be having this problem. Or better yet, if Riku hadn't surrendered to Ansam he wouldn't have been involved at all!
Sora slowly relaxed his hand. He had been over this circle of thinking many times, and it wasn't going to take him anywhere different now. He sat down again, sinking into the soft cushions. He knew he was just frustrated, that he was just upset at being cooped up once again after having been so active and done and seen so much.
Try as he might, he just couldn't break out of this mood. He had to get out. Okay, now he had a goal. This was good. His audience with Queen Minnie tonight might be his big chance. If he presented his case carefully, he could convince her that Riku and Mickey had to be rescued and soon.
He put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes, leaning further back into the chair. He opened his eyes with a huge grin that hadn't been seen in fourteen days. Things were beginning to look up after all.

Queen Minnie listened intently to Sora's story. "But you said that you couldn't close the door. How did you do it?"
"Well, your majesty, when we looked inside, we saw hundreds of heartless. So we tried that much harder, but we still couldn't do it," Sora said.
"But then how did you?" Minnie interrupted.
"We had help," Sora paused but before Minnie could ask another question he continued. "Riku was inside Kingdom Hearts and pulled the doors closed from the inside while we pushed on the outside."
"And what about Mickey?" Minnie demanded.
"He was in Kingdom Hearts as well."
"So," Minnie paused, as if arranging her thoughts. "You locked Mickey in Kingdom Hearts?" she asked slowly.
"Yes, your majesty."
Minnie waited for a further response but didn't get one. "Thank you, Sora." The boy turned and left the chamber, leaving the queen alone with a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach.

Sora walked out of the chamber feeling very satisfied with himself. He hadn't lied, nor did he exaggerate. He simply included information he thought the queen might not have had. And judging by her reactions, she didn't. He had no idea how Donald and Goofy had covered Mickey's absence but it didn't really matter to him. As far as he was concerned, they were going to be thrown out of the palace and not allowed to return unless escorted by the king. And that was fine by him.
But Sora knew he wasn't coming back unless there two people to bring home again. Sora missed his friends and family terribly and wanted to go back, but he'd never leave without Riku and he'd never give up until he found him, alive or not. Riku deserved at least that much.
Sora began thinking of places to begin, the unlimited possibilities racing around his brain.

So how was it? Good? Bad? Should I stop now and pretend this never happened? Keep going? Review me, or I'll never know! So anyways, I have to go to work. Bai, Bai! And oh, by the way, the characters voted Al Gore out, and he demanded a recount. Those darn butterfly ballots!
