Fan Fiction ❯ Changes ❯ Changes ( Chapter 1 )

Olivia looked in the mirror. `Who is this?' she thought.

She raised her hand and led it through the straight, brown hair that was positioned on this head. `This is not my hair. Mine used to be curly and uncontrollable. This new hair is straight and disciplined.'

She combed through her hair a few times, just to get the feel of this new material.

While combing through her hair, her eyes gazed at the woman's eyes staring back at her. They seemed to glistened more than she ever remembered. The dark, cloudy green eyes she once had were now replaced with glowing, clear, bright green eyes. `These can not be my eyes. I was never able to see my reflection before.'

After a few minutes of meticulous gazing, her eyes trailed down to her nose. For some reason, it did not seem as pointed as it used to be. This new nose blended into her face better than the one before. `What happened to my nose? I can barely see this one. Do I even have a nose anymore?' Olivia put the comb she was using to brush through her hair down on the vanity stand. Her now free hand moved slowly up to her face. It touched the so-called nose and trailed every inch of it. `It feels like a nose, but it can't be mine.'

While her hand continued to search the nose, her eyes began to gaze at her mouth. Luscious, full pink lips called out to her eyes. She moved the lips and conformed them into different positions, a kiss, a smile, and a frown. `These must be mine because they're moving according to my wishes, but how did they get there. Mine should be cracky and not as full.'

“What's going on? Why are my facial features so different? Why haven't I noticed them before?” Olivia asked herself.

Everything about her seemed to be more proportionate. Every line in her face seemed more outlined, clear.

Olivia stood up and started walking over to her closet to pick out something to wear to school. Upon opening her closet, she looked at the full-length mirror that was attached to the left door of the closet. How slender she looked compared to the last time she saw herself! She turned left and right, surveying every inch of her body. Everything was more compacted. Her stomach, her hips, her thighs, everything was not gushing out from her like before. She liked this new look. It gave her more confidence to face the day.

“Whoever this is, I'm glad she's here. Maybe things will turn out better.”

With that thought, Olivia pulled out a white and cream colored blouse from the closest. She closed the door, sneaking in another look before the door completely shut, and placed the blouse on her bed. Then she walked over to her dresser, pulled open one of the many drawers, and searched for one of her favorite pair of jeans. Upon finding the right pair that would go with her top, she closed the drawer and began to pull off her pajamas.

Once fully dressed, she went over to her vanity mirror and looked at the outfit. `Wow, it seems to fit better today than the last time I wore it.'

“Olivia! You're going to be late for school,” she heard her mother scream from downstairs.

“Okay, just a few more minutes! I need to make some final changes and then I'll be ready,” she called back down.

Um…yeah, there it is. I don't know why I wrote this story, but I guess I just wanted to do something different. But, I have these mornings sometimes when I wake up and it seems that the person in the mirror isn't quite who I thought it would be. Please review! I love reviews! I guess flames are acceptable too, but don't be too mean. This is my first original piece of work I'm posting on the internet. ^^
