~The Reason~
I've found a reason for me, to change who I used to be
A reason to start over new, and the reason is you
I've found a reason to show a side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do, and that reason is you

Fro m his window, Charles Xavier watched Airen and Erik soar through the sky. No one else was around. They were either in training or doing homework. It was rare that the two could have their little play fights. They never preformed them when they believed that they were being watched.
Charles shook his head, wondering why it was that he'd allowed Erik to stay. Again, he remembered seeing Airen near tears at the mere idea of Erik leaving her and weeping at him being injured. Airen. How the young mutant had changed this place.
Her friends were growing bold around the X-Men's former enemy, though he could still scare them away easily enough. Wolverine was constantly scowling, or at least even more so than he usually did. He took every chance he got to warn Erik about betraying them. At first, Erik simply nodded and walked away. Logan had become persistent enough to bother Erik. One time he'd left Logan stuck to the ceiling all night long. Only he could get the metal-skeleton mutant back down. And he'd taken his time then.
The other teachers were wary, though accepting. Though non of them could see what Charles saw. He saw that Erik would kill himself to stay loyal to Airen, who would kill everyone plus herself to do the same for him. He'd admitted to Charles that he was much more than fond of Airen. And Airen knew this. She seemed very happy about this, but the other young mutants besides her friends tended to avoid her because of this.
Despite Erik's real age, which he admitted was a factor that bothered him to no end, they seemed perfect together. Airen accepted him. She rarely tried to control him. The only time she admitted to doing so was actually more of a bargain of sorts.
Through all of their matching characteristics, the three of them saw that love held the two together closest of all.

Er ik soared past Airen, and she dodged his advance as though he were stuck in molasses. He grinned and set off a spurt more power to catch his student and love. He didn't trust anyone here as fully as he trusted her. Charles came in second, but there was no real competition. And Airen's friends... He'd yet to get too far beyond simply liking them, though he tried to be as open to them as he was with Airen.
But not too trusting still. And trust Logan? Erm, no. Airen laughed, obviously believing that he couldn't ever catch up with her. Well, he'll have to dissappoint her.

Li fe was grand! Erik was in love with Airen, and she with him. Only Charles knew this besides them. It would probably freak the whole school out to death to hear that she was interested in a man nearly five times older than she was. As if it's not bad enough already. But he was younger now. Sort of.
She tried to dodge him again, but soon found herself powerless in his grasp. She smiled shyly up at him. `So, magnets control electricity.' He smiled back and kissed her passionately. Nothing could stop them while they had each other.
“Mayhap you'd like to join me for dinner tonight?” Erik murmured. Airen felt herself flush.
“I'd love to.”
- When should I pick you up? - He joked through their telepathic connection.
- Maybe around... - She began, but never finished.
A large explosion interrupted them. It was miles away, but the plume of smoke was unmistakable at the view that the two shared. “Acolytes.” Erik's voice rumbled in a growl that would have startled Logan.
(Acolytes? Yours?) Xavier called.
(Yes.) Airen answered. (Erik?)
(We shall deal with them.) Erik assured Xavier and Airen.
(I'm with you.) Airen added in.
Erik smiled to her. - I wouldn't have it any other way. -
(Just try not to kill anyone.) Xavier sighed.
(We know.) Airen laughed.
- Don't I ever know that! - Erik laughed.
Airen grinned. Her favorite phrase with him was, `Don't kill anyone' after what he'd said when she'd fought with Sabertooth. Now she let him know that she remembered that day. Constantly.
They took off to the ever rising smoke-cloud, towards the Acolytes, and towards new adventures together.
