Chapter 1 Flashbacks
Sora sat in his room alone curled up in a fetal position on the bed. The curtains had been drawn closed so no light could come into the small room, much to the brunet’s relief.
A small knife was clutched tightly in the palm of the young boy’s hand. He watched in some sort of sick satifisfaction as red thick blood slowly slid down the knife’s blade and fell onto the bed below him staining the white sheets.
Emotionless blue eyes stared down at his arms, and slowly studied the damage he had inflicted on himself.
Scars where everywhere on his’ pale arms they started at his scrawny wrist and traveled downwards until the reached his elbows. The cuts were not deep, but just enough to cause major blood loss. A smirk slowly made his way on the youth’s face as he dragged his body off the bed and into the bathroom.
Once there he flicked on the light and weakly opened the medicine cabinet. He took out what he needed consisting of antibiotics, long bandages, alcohol and certain germs killers and placed them on the counter.
With a sigh he plopped himself down on the closed toilet , which was beside the counter and got to work. He gently rubbed the antibiotic crème on the wounds , but could not help but flinch as the chemicals dissolved into the cuts.
Next he speared the alcohol on both arms. This was the part he hated the most because the pain of the sting effect was almost unbearable, but Sora ,trying not to howl out in pain and protest bit his lower lip so hard it cause blood to spurt from a small newly fresh wound.
Several minutes past as the teenager covered up his arm with bandages. He did all of this in a trance , almost like a routine that was well practiced . Standing up, once he was sure he was all bandaged up and placed the medicines back into the cabinet exactly where he had gotten them from.
He then stepped back and eyed the bathroom warily, checking to see if any of his blood had escaped his wounds and feel on the floor. Sora knew his father would not be to happy about that and would probably use that as an excuse to hurt him.
Sighing in relief has he saw there was nothing staining the floors. He walked back to his room , hands buried in his pants pocket .
He felt contempt has he stared at the darkened room, he always felt happy for some odd reason after he cut himself. Sora knew it was odd and particularly not normal to have feelings like that, but he didn’t care, pain was his only escape from the harsh world he had come to know , too well.
Now you may wonder how little Sora ever began to start cutting himself, well it’s a long story. Sora had always been a very cheerful boy, he always smiled and he always laughed.
He had parents who loved him and two best friends, Riku and Kairi. So what was there not to be happy about?, but happiness does not always last forever and Sora learned that the hard way.
He could remember that day clearly, the day where his life turned upside down. It was a Friday afternoon and all the kids at Destiny middle school were quickly finishing up there exams excited about summer break that was just around the corner.
Sora sat in the back of the classroom with Riku and Kairi. He quickly bubbled in answers at a fast pace determined to finish before any of his two friends did. The blue eyed boy didn’t really know why, but he always felt jealous of the other two teens, they were both simply ……perfect.
Riku was a smart, intelligent boy with a shoulder length silver hair, and mesmerizing sea green eyes. He had high cheek bones and very pale skin, but not so pale that made him look sickly , oh no in fact it made him have a certain glow to him, that resembled the gods.
His body so to speak was rock hard with abs and muscles there was not a inch of baby fat on him, which was the reason Sora was really jealous of him. His body was scrawny and small and to make it even worse he had a huge bulge of baby fat on his stomach, making him appear younger then he actual was. The brunet could only dream of a body like his best friend,
Kairi on the other hand was beautiful, but nothing compared to Riku. She too was smart and intelligent with short auburn hair and dark violet eyes. Her skin was pale, but was always flushed with pink when she was embarrassed.
Her body was slim and well sculpted, with curves all in the right places. The only thing she lacked and Sora always liked teasing her about was her breast size, which was in many guy’s opinion to small. Even so, she was still gorgeous and many people adored her because of it.
Sora stood up, grabbing his test supplies and made his way to teacher’s desk. With a small smirk he laid his test down on the desk and waited if his teacher was going to give him any more directions.
The teacher, picking up the exam looked over it with narrowed eyes, she smiled and placed the test down dismissing Sora with a wave of her hand. On the way back to his desk he silently watched Riku and Kairi.
The silver haired boy seem to have been taking his time thinking each question out and all four of the possible answers. Kairi was chewing her eraser nervously seemingly stuck on a question. With a sigh he sat down and waited for the bell to ring.
After school came quickly and Sora found himself standing at the cross roads waving good bye at his two best friends as they walked away waving good bye over there shoulders.
He smiled and turned to walk in the direction of his house, he felt excited about getting home because his parents had promised him they take him to that new amusement park that just opened. Sora had always wanted to go there and now was his chance.
Once he reached his house he practically ran up the drive to his front door. The 13 year old boy shakily reached into his pants pocket and took out a pair of keys, bringing them up to the lock he turned the key and successfully unlocked the door. Grinning, he placed the keys back into his pant’s pocket and brought his hand to rest on the door’s knob. The grin was instantly gone from his face.
Something was wrong , very wrong.
He could just feel it, he quickly turned the handle and entered the surprisingly quiet and dark house.
‘’Hello I’m home!’’ Sora yelled out hoping someone had heard him, but his voice fell on deaf ears. Confused and a little bit frightened Sora made his way through the house, checking rooms and calling out to his parents.
He abruptly stopped in front of his parents room. Working up his courage he turned the knob slowly and peered in. His eyes were met once again with a dark room , grimacing as he smelled the light stench of beer.
‘’Mom…..Dad’’ he asked, hesitantly, flicking on a light switch. He walked into the room and saw that the floor was covered in beer bottles and other things he could not identify. Deciding not to stop until he found his parents. Sora’s eyes narrowed as he looked around the room, until he heard a faint groan coming from the bathroom, quickly he ran towards the opened door and ran in, but what he saw stopped him in his tracks.
His father lay sprawled on the ground, groaning in pain. Without a second thought Sora ran to aid his father, falling to his knees he prompted his father’s head up in his lap and shook the man lightly.
‘’Dad.. ,Dad answer me! Where’s mom? What’s happened?’’ upon hearing his slightly quivering voice the man stirred from his sleep, his eyes only half lidded as he gazed at his son’s worried face.
‘’Dad….what’s happened?’’ Sora repeated, as he saw that his father was now fully awake. His father ignored him however, and with the little strength he had pulled him self up into a sitting position ‘’Sora ..help me get to the bed’’ the man ordered in a slightly horsed voice.
Sora nodded and slung his father’s arm over his shoulders and gently led the man to the bed. This took a lot of effort on the small boy’s part for his father was almost twice his size and weight. They came to a halt in front of the bed, then with the help of his son the man was laid gently upon the soft cushions. The brunet then proceeded to cover the man with warm blankets and fluffed his father’s pillows to make him more comfortable.
‘’Is there anything you need Dad?’’ he asked in a gentle whisper once he was done fluffing the pillows. The older man brought a hand to his temples as if expecting a headache to come on, he closed his eyes and said ‘’Yes…..some water and aspirin..…please’’.
Sora sat up and eyed his father intently before he turned he left the room. The only thing he didn’t notice was how his father’s eyes seem to narrow into angry slits as he watched his son retreating form.
Within moments, the boy returned with a glass of water in one hand and a bottle of aspirins within the other. He moved to the side of the bed and helped his father sit up to take the medication and then laid him back down once he was done.
Then room feel into a pregnant silence as Sora kneeled down beside the bed his hands fisting the sheets tightly as he waited for what his father was going to do.
The man turned his head slightly to look at his son’s troubled face, frowning, he turned back to his position and sighed heavily ‘’I know you have questions to ask me. You might as well ask them now ’’ .
Sora blinked his eyes in surprise not expecting that to come from his father’s mouth. He slowly lowered his head , biting his lower lip. Many questions floated around his head, but there was only one question that he felt was most important above all.
‘’Where is …Mom?’’ he asked, his voice cracking.
His mother was always there to greet him with a smile on her face when he came home. Offering pie or some cookies and asking how was his day. Sora always found himself telling her what his day was like , oddly enough she always seem interested to know, no matter how boring it might have been.
Today,…though she was not there.
His saw his father take in a harsh breath of air and closed his eyes as if trying to block out some pain he was feeling. He then opened his mouth, but quickly shut it again , rethinking what he was going to say.
As Sora saw his father hesitating he quickly reached out his hand and grasped the older man forearm ‘’Please!’’ He begged, his voice rising to a high shriek ‘’I need to know …where is my mother?…where is she !?’’
At this time Sora began to become hysterical , he shook the man’s arm frantically trying to get a answer out of him.
Angrily, his father flung his arm off and stared down at boy with narrowed eyes ‘’She’s dead.’’ He whispered, harshly ’’ she died today because her car wrecked, killing her almost instantly’’.
Sora stood up in horror, shaking his head he slowly backed away from the bed, knocking things over in his wake. No, No it was not true his mother was not dead , his father was lying to him right?, but the more he thought about it the more the truth sunk into his head, engraving his mind.
Fresh tears sprung forth from his crystal clear eyes and trailed down his rosy cheeks, like a river flow. He felt a dull pain in his heart and could not help but clench his eyes close trying to get rid of it.
‘’It’s all your fault’’
Snapping his head towards the bed, Sora’s tear filled eyes stared at the upright figure on the bed in confusion. The said man lifted his gaze to his son’s the anger in his eyes more apparent ‘’Do you know why it is your fault?’’ he asked quietly, yet in a stern voice. Deciding not to answer the question , Sora’s small frame slid to floor, his hand clutching the fabric of his shirt where his heart rested within.
The dark haired man, catching sight of his son’s obvious fear chuckled darkly as he got off the bed, the sheets falling to the floor at the movement. Slowly, he approached Sora his hangover clearly forgotten as he focused on his new task. Seeing his father approaching him,
Sora quickly stood up his heart pounding as he took small steps back, he found however that the more he stepped back the more steps his father would take forward. Eventual the stronger man cornered him up against the wall.
One hand was resting flatly on the wall above Sora’s head while the other hand held the boy’s chin firmly, forcing them to make eye contact.
The older man leaned forward till his and his son’s face were merely inches apart. Sora closed his eyes trying to block out the image of his father leaning so close to him.
‘’Do you know why it’s your fault?’’ he asked again, a smirk tugging at his lips. Upon hearing no reply, he quickly became agitated and the hand that was resting on wall moved to rest in the boy’s hair. There he entwined his fingers into the silky locks of hair and gave it a hard tug, causing Sora to let out a painful yelp.
‘’I’m sorry! I don’t know what I did , but I am sorry , please let me go Father!’’ the small boy cried, as he tried to twist his way out of his father’s grip.
‘’Sorry?’’ the dark haired man asked, his voice raising to an questioning tone. Grinning evilly, he tugged the child’s hair to the point that the Sora’s scalp began to bleed ‘’There’s no point in saying sorry, my son, the deed has already been done. You killed her, the only reason she was even in that damn car was to go and pick you up from school, if it wasn’t for you she still be alive!’’
Sora hissed in pain and tried to ignore the guilt tugging at his now fragile heart strings.
‘’It’s not my fault dad’’ the brunet’s whispered, brokenly trying to defend himself ‘’things happen in life that you just can not control, like mom’s life . That’s what fate is, you just never know who’s going to go or stay that’s all up to god.’’
His closed his eyes tightly has he felt the rush of blood go down his forehead ‘’’I believe that everything that happens on the Earth happens for a reason, mother’s death was something that was suppose to happen, because god made it that way. God knows all’’ Sora finished, hoping he would get through to his father.
Suddenly the grip on his hair was gone and he felt the body that was close move away from him. Sora instantly feel to the floor like a rag doll , breathing heavily.
Mustering up all the courage he could he opened his eyes and glanced up at the tall form above him. His father was staring down at him as if he was some sort of alien, his breath came out in short pants as he’s fist clenched tightly.
‘’Your wrong Sora, if there was a god he would have not let that happen. There’s no way in hell someone as beautiful as your mother should have died, I want her back , I really do. So until then I’ll torture you , until god starts giving me some fuckin answers!’’ .
Sora weakly stood up, now believing that his father had gone made. Now fearing for his life he quietly walked towards the door, he placed his hand on the doorknob and glanced over his shoulder as the other person residing in the room.
His father seem to have forgotten that he was even there as he stared off into space. Without another glance back Sora ran from the room into his own. Opening the door, with as much force has he could he entered the dark room and slam the door shut behind him. Pausing a moment he made sure to lock the door in fear that his father would come an hurt him.
He threw himself on the bed and buried his face into the soft pillow. He suddenly became overcome with emotions and felt tears , once again fall from his eyes.
The small boy’s body shook with each sob, that escaped his mouth, each sob louder then the last.
So that night all alone and grief stricken Sora cried himself to asleep.
The next few days seem to past by rather quickly for Sora. He rarely spoke to his father and when he did the man spoke very little worlds to him, it seemed to Sora that his father didn’t remember the day when he first came home to find him past out on the floor, much to his relief.
Even so, Sora often snuck out of the house not feeling to safe alone with his father and took to the streets. He just wandered aimlessly not have any particular destination, but one time has he stood at the corner of 5th avenue a famous street because of the many shopping malls lined up there.
His sky blue eyes caught sight of his two best friends, Riku and Kairi, walking slowly down the street towards him. They looked rather happy together , Kairi had the biggest grin on her face as she had her arms wrapped around Riku’s waist a blush adorning her round face.
Riku had a tiniest hint of a smirk on his face as he free arm , that wasn’t carrying shopping bags was wrapped around Kairi’s shoulders, laughing at whatever the red-head girl had to say .
Sora, although he hated to admit it , felt jealous that there were having fun without him. All three of them were best friends so that meant they should have fun together! Not two people having fun together while they left one feeling hurt and betrayed.
As they got closer they didn’t seem to notice that Sora was right in front of them, so in order to not get caught Sora hid behind the near by department store, and peeked his head out to watch Riku and Kairi closer.
Riku stooped in front of the crossing light and pressed the button gently signaling that he wanted to cross. Kairi gripped his arm tighter and giggled as she played with a lock of his sliver hair., in which Riku didn’t seem to mind much.
Watching this Sora felt the jealously come back , but for some reason it was not because they were having fun together without him anymore it was because of Kairi.
He was jealous of Kairi.
He felt angered that the red -head touched Riku so freely and casual , as if there was nothing wrong with that,
Fuck! There was something wrong with that, Riku was HIS and His alone there should be no other with him, but as this thoughts swam around in his head he felt confused as to just why he felt this way.
Maybe because he had been attracted to Riku all along. Even if himself hadn’t know it at the time , but how could you NOT be attracted to the silver haired boy.
Riku was perfect in every single way he had great academics , one of the best athletes in the school and charming voice to match, all the girls wanted him including Kairi.
So what chance did plain old , scrawny Sora have? I tell you zero, nada, zilch, nothing you get the point right?. As the small boy thought about this his mood sadden tremendously as he watched Riku and Kairi walk away within each other arms, clearly forgetting about Sora the no-body.
A week later Sora’s mother funeral was held. Many people were gathered around the grave sight , among them were all close friends and relatives of the family. Every person’s head was bowed as the gently words of the priest flowed through the air.
Sora adorned in a black tuxedo and a tie looked up from his bowing position to look into his mother’s open coffin. She looked so peaceful it almost made him cry , she was covered in a white dress with many bracelets covering her wrist. Her golden blonde hair was left down framing her heart shaped face, and her facial muscles were placed in a position that made her look as if she was smiling.
The priest’s speech came to an end and with one final pray the coffin was closed, much to Sora’s dismay and lowered into the giant hole dug a few feet away.
Sora’s eyes filled with tears and he quickly wiped them away not wanting anyone to see him look so weak. Out of the corner of his eyes he watched his father, standing rigid next to the hole as he wife was lowered within. His eyes were emotionless and the emotions on his face Sora could not decipher, sometimes his father could be hard to read.
After some time the people left the grave sight to go inside and enjoy the well prepared food waiting for them, leaving Sora to stand alone in front of the stone tablet.
‘’Here lies Azure Hikari’’ Sora read the words on the tablet out loud ‘’we hope to heaven that her soul will rest in peace’’ as he finished, he felt a uncontrollable sadness sweep through him.
Just as he was about to give in to the temptation to cry a hand feel gently on his shoulder. The boy’s body went rigid and he slowly was turned around to stare up into friendly aqua mina eyes.
Sora gasped, ‘’Riku!? What are you doing out here?.’’
Riku chuckled his deep baritone voice flowing to Sora in waves , causing the boy to relax somewhat ‘’I don’t think the question, Sora, is what I’m doing out here.’’ he replied ‘’but what ‘’you’’ are doing out here, why aren’t you inside with the others?’’.
Sora shrugging the hand off his’s shoulder, lowered his head and stepped back. Not wanting Riku to see the blush that was coming on due to staring up into the other beautiful eyes.
‘’What? is there a reason I need to be in there?’’
‘’Well no, but’’ Riku began searching for the right words to say ‘’I was…..I mean Kairi and I were worried about you, ever since your mother’s passing you’ve been so out of it, we just want to help as much as we can.’’
The smaller boy frowned at the mention of Kairi. Remembering a few days back when he saw Riku and Kairi go shopping together, they hadn’t seem to worry about him then, so why was they worried now?. Maybe because it was pity, yeah that was it they pitied him because he was a poor ugly boy that lost his mother and now was alone in the world.
Sora growled low in his throat the last thing he wanted was someone else’s pity, it made him feel weak and that was a feeling he didn’t like to well.
‘’Sora did you hear me ?’’
The blue-eyed boy was interrupted from his thoughts by Riku who was now staring down at him worry evident in his face, he nodded. ‘’No Sora’’ the boy thought bitterly to himself ‘’that’s pity he looking at you with, he does not care for you…like how you care for him. All he cares about his poor, stupid Kairi’.
‘’Well are you all right, now?’’ Riku asked, sighing. Sora immediately put on a fake smile one that was well practiced , since it was hard to smile for real anymore.
‘’Of course I am , Riku, what would make you think otherwise?’’ he said with fake enthusiasm, almost sounding like his old self, almost. Riku walked closer to Sora a gentle smile tugging at his lips as he rested his hand on top of Sora’s head and rubbed there gently.
‘’Yeah, how could I- ‘’ Riku stooped mid- sentence, his eyes widening as he rubbed a certain spot , Sora hissed in pain and snapped his head away from the intruding hand. The spot Riku had rubbed was the exact spot where his father and tugged at his strands of hair tightly causing the scalp beneath to bleed, the wounds inflicted that day caused his scalp to be covered in deep purple welts. Thankfully his hair was wild enough to cover it.
The brunet stared at the silver haired boy who judging by the way he stood there looking surprised, felt the welts on his head. There was no way he was going to get away with this one.
‘’Riku I -’’ Sora began to explain, but what cut off by Riku who had somehow managed to get closer to Sora and grab the boy’s shoulders. ‘’I want to know who did this to you , tell me Sora , NOW!.’’ he said, pointing to the brunet’s head.
Sora gulped as he was once again staring up into Riku’s eyes and instantly felt his inside melt, but he didn’t have time to be falling to a puddle of mush and had to find a way out of this. He knew he could not tell Riku the truth for if he did and word got out that Sora’s father was abusing him, well then he would be severely punished by his father he knew that much already.
Seeing the situation growing desperate Sora had to come up with a story and fast because Riku was growing impatient fast. Biting his lower lip, he began to cry at the thought that he could not tell his best friend in the whole wide world the truth.
Riku eyes grew soft as he saw that little Sora was crying he gently began to run his hands along Sora’s shoulder hoping to calm the boy down and coax him to begin speaking.
‘’Sora it‘s ok you can tell me ,’’ he whispered, over and over again in the smaller boy’s ear.
Sora shivered at the other closeness and began to tell his story ‘’I-I feel on my head’’ he said lamely, mentally kicking himself for how stupid this was going to sound ‘’I was running and you know how klutzy I can be sometimes, and I feel right there on the sidewalk’’,
Riku eyes narrowed in suspicion, but seeing how Sora was in a very emotional state he decided to not question the boy in further. He then suddenly brought the smaller boy into a hug, much to Sora surprise and nuzzled his best friend’s shoulder ‘’You can tell me anything , remember that Sora’’ he said , quietly.
Sora hugged his friend back feeling tears of sadness crawl down his face. He heart ached for his mother , and even though Sora was pretty sure that hug he was receiving was out of pity and not love, he still needed it, besides it was probably the only thing close to love he would ever receive.
‘’Riku!’’ both boys turn to the sound of the older one’s name and saw Kairi standing at the entrance of the grand hall waving at them----- or I should say Riku, inviting him back into the building.
As Riku waved back , Sora felt the depression wash over him again and he felt awfully alone and ignored.
In excitement, Riku grabbed Sora’s arm and led him back into the grand hall , completely missing the smaller boy’s solid frown that seemed imprinted on his face.
Despite all this Sora felt blessed , that he was offered some sort of love even for the brief seconds Riku held him in his arms, it was a very good few seconds may he add.
Little did Sora know that his life was going to go even more downhill from there and the conversation he just had with Riku, was indeed his last one with the silver haired boy.
If anyone said Sora’s life could not get any worse they were wrong. It all started as the summer break quickly ended signaling the start of a brand new school year. All the kids groaned as they stomped towards there class rooms, but not Sora who was now a freshmen in high school he eagerly waited for the school year to begin.
That also meant he could spend time more time with Riku, who he had developed a crush on and Kairi, even though he still held bitter feelings towards her.
The first bell rang and Sora rushed to his room, Surprised, to see that he had Riku and Kairi in his first period, he rushed over to them and stopped in front of the red-head. Who stood in front of Riku, twirling a lock of hair around her index finger .
‘’Hey Kairi’’ Sora greeted , plastering a fake smile on his face. Upon hearing her name , Kairi frowned and turned around clearly angry that she had been interrupted from flirting with Riku.
Rolling her violet’s orbs she hissed ‘’What do you want Sora?, …….oh never mind. I am busy now so just go away!’’ with this she placed her hands on Sora’s chest and pushed the brunet a few feet back. Sora blinked not at all affected by Kairi’s little push, but feeling a little bit angry for being brushed off like that.
Sora keeping his temper in check decided to instead greet Riku, turning he smiled at the boy’s general direction ‘’Hello Riku’’ he said , softly blushing. Slowly Riku looked at him as if seeing him for the first time , and eyed him warily a blush or what Sora thought was a blush slowly crept on Riku’s pale face.
Sora face twisted in confusion as Riku stammered a bit to Kairi saying something along the lines ‘’I have to go to the restroom’’ and without even asking for permission to leave retreated from the room.
Feeling a little bit hurt that Riku ignored him, the brunet took his seat beside Kairi who was glaring at him hard.
‘’Sora..’’ Kairi whispered to him, her girly voice soft but harsh, leaving no room for argument ‘’we need to talk after class ‘’ .
Sora nodded, curious as to what Kairi had to say to him. Class soon began and Riku had returned sometime after a few minutes and got scowled at by the teacher because he got up and left the room without permission.
After the teacher was done scowling Riku and basically going over the rules to us, heavily go over the rule that students were not allowed to leave the classroom, during this time she stared hard at Riku who ducked his head in embarrassment. She then let the students go and have a bit of free time. Sora taking this has his opportunity to talk to Riku, quickly approached him.
Seeing him walking over Riku stood quickly, knocking over his chair in the process, and walked away from him and towards Kairi who was chatting to some blonde-haired girl in the corner.
Sora frowned and lowered his head feeling very hurt by Riku obvious rejection of him. Turning, the 14-year old boy took his seat while staring over at the three in the corner. Riku stood with his arm crossed his silver eye-brows drawn together in a very serious look. The blonde haired girl was laughing at something Kairi was saying, while Kairi was pointing over to him giggling her little head off.
Sora was not stupid he knew that Kairi was saying things behind his back and this only increased the hatred he had for her. He sighed and let his head crash onto the desk.
The period ended quickly and Sora leaning against the wall, with his books clutched to his chest waited for Kairi outside the classroom. Within a few moments Riku came out followed by Kairi and the blonde haired girl, who Sora nicknamed Kairi’s little slave.
Riku didn’t even glance at him as he turned to his next class. Kairi however stopped and beckoned the other girl to wait as she turned towards Sora, her face seeming to suddenly go serious.
‘’I’m glad you could make it Sora’’’ she said , having to look up a bit to stare into Sora’s eyes. The boy pushed himself off the wall and was about to reply , but Kairi beat him to it ‘’Why don’t we just cut to the chase , shall we ?’’
The taller one nodded, and waited for what Kairi had to say. The said girl breathed in deeply ‘’I want you to stay away from Riku ‘’ Sora’s eyes widen at what Kairi said , stay away from Riku!? No , he couldn’t, Riku was his only friend or closest thing to a friend had.
‘’I am sorry Kairi, but I can not honor your request, Riku is my best friend’’
Kairi’s eyes narrowed as she began to pace back in forth in front of him ‘’That’s precisely the problem since you’re his best friend all Riku seems to care about is you !’’ she yelled ‘’I want Riku for myself , so just stay away from him , besides I don’t think he even wants you around judging by the way he can’t seem to stand within a few feet of you for very long!’’
This words hit home and it hurt even more because of the fact that it was actual true. Sora turned away from her his shoulder’s shaking he would not cry, he wouldn’t.
Kairi smirked satisfied at Sora’s reaction and approached the boy from behind and like a snake wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pulled him towards her in a small hug.
‘’Sora…I am so sorry’’ she said, in a sickly sweet voice ‘’but I am simply watching out for you and Riku both. It seems that you two are only hurting each other, so maybe it be best that you two stay away from each other for now’’
Sora feeling very vulnerable nodded and let himself fall into Kairi’s embrace needing to feel a little bit of love, no matter how fake it was.
So from that day forward , Sora ignored both Riku and Kairi who had begun dating in the 10th grade leaving Sora to feel utterly alone and heartbroken. For he had grown to love Riku and that love would never fade overtime, and watching Riku and Kairi together made his heart tear painfully in half.
Now if that wasn’t enough his father had grown accustomed to beating him on a daily basis and even when Sora begged him to stop the man would not. It only seemed the more Sora cried out the more angry he made his father and the harsher the punishment.
That’s when he first started considering cutting himself. He was 14 , at the time and after he had come home from a miserable day of school, his father waiting at the door for him had a few words for him.
After yelling at him his father beat him to the point that Sora was going in and out of consciousness and left the boy in a pool of his own blood. When the teenager felt that he was able to move again, he slowly crawled to the bathroom to clean himself up, he turned on the lights on with slow cautious move and that’s when he saw it .
The knife.
Laying on the bathroom’s counter, it’s blade sharp to a point , which glistened in the light. Sora slowly with the help of the counter to steady him, stood up and looked down at the knife intently.
Bringing his hand out he grabbed the knife from the counter and twirled it around in his hand, slowly examining it. It was indeed a nice looking knife in which Sora would take great satisfaction in using.
He brought the blade to skin and slowly let it sink there watching as blood came forth and trailed down his arm. Sora’s eyes were wide as he watched this his body shuddering with each cut he inflicted on himself. Once he was done, he placed the knife back on the counter, and let his body slide down the wall to the floor.
He immediately sat upright against the wall one arm covering his eyes as he laughed hysterical. It was the first time in a while that he actual felt …good. He had found the answer to all his problems, by cutting himself. That was his escape, from the cruel world around him.
So now the 16-year old Sora stood in his bedroom, his arms completely covered in bandages, staring off into space. He felt as if he was suffocating and his bedroom walls were closing in on him.
Heaving a heavy sigh Sora let his body fall to the bed and instantly he curled up in a fetal position one that he found himself in often. He closed his dull blue eyes and let tears slip from them as a few words passed through his mind, words that he would never forget.
‘’It’s all your fault.’’
Ending Notes- Well I hope that was good like I said before this is my first fic that I posted on my web. Now if you guys would all be so kind and press the review button and review that would greatly be appreciated and the longer the review the more encouragement I will have to get started with the next chapter soon. Any grammar problem please say so in your review I want my stories to come out as clean as possible , thank you
Anyhow about Sora, I hate hurting him so much in this story. For he his the love of my life. So don’t flame me about that, things will look up for Sora in future chapters I promise. Also writing things like about my Sora hurts me more then it probably hurts you (hugs Sora). So review and I will continue with the next chapter (Even though I am not sure if I can find motivation to write one more word) JA NE !
