Fan Fiction ❯ Corruption of an angel ❯ Legend of Yoake ( Chapter 5 )
Chapter 5
Legend of Yoake
Tenshi opened the door to the castle as silently as he could; his clothes dripped water as he walked down the hall. The mirrors had a dull shined and Tenshi caught his reflection in one of them, how it mocked him. The reflection had no soul, no heart, no emotion, and felt nothing at all, which is what Tenshi wanted sometimes. "A reflection has no memories good or bad," Tenshi said aloud staring at his tired, pitiful form in the looking glass. Not wanting to think any longer, Tenshi ascended up the stairs to his room. Before he turned the hall to his chambers, he saw light from underneath one of the rooms belonging to one of the Taihen. His curiosity getting the best of him, he neared and looked through the slightly opened door.
There sitting by the window was Tomoe, with a blanket wrapped around himself looking out at the sky. Tenshi would never admit it to anyone, but he truly thought that Tomoe was kind enough. He liked the man's sense of pride and compassion the most; he remembered when he was about six years old, he had gotten hurt while trying to climb up a tree, but instead he plummeted to the ground. He remembered that Tomoe, on one of his good days, had picked him up and cradled him until he stopped crying, and it was then that Tenshi realized that Tomoe wasn't entirely cold hearted. That was what puzzled Tenshi the most, he always knew Tomoe to be cold and cruel one minute and the next kind, caring and sensitive. Deciding not to disturb the older man Tenshi quickly moved from the door, but instead he ended up opening it further, thus getting Tomoe's attention.
Tomoe looked to the source of the noise and saw Tenshi half bent over with his hand on the doorknob, with a look of abashment. Tomoe smiled at the Chouwan, which in fact scared Tenshi more than any scowl or sneer Tomoe had in him. It wasn't a usual occurrence when Tomoe actually smiled a genuine smile, "what are you doing?" he asked cheerfully as though talking to his best friend. Tenshi froze, never had he heard Tomoe speak to him like that with out it having some sound of seduction, "um, I'm not doing anything" Tenshi said while smiling, showing all his teeth. Tomoe smiled again and turned his attention back to the outside; for some odd reason Tenshi stepped into the room and sat next to Tomoe and placed his hand gently on the man's shoulder.
Tomoe turned to the young man and smiled; it was at that point that Tenshi realize there was something different about Tomoe, his usual hard exterior was gone, he looked kind and gentle, something that Tenshi had never seen before and his eyes showed it. Tomoe turned away and again became fascinated with the sky; the two remained in silence for what seemed like eternity, all the while Tenshi shifted uncomfortably in his soaked clothes and shivered from the cold. Tenshi's eyes widened as he felt the quilt that Tomoe had been wrapped around him was draped over Tenshi's lean, shaking form. Tenshi looked up at the older man; it was the first time he had ever felt safe around him.
"What happened?" Tomoe asked, his gaze never leaving the twinkling stars //He looks so much like his mother \\ Tomoe thought averting his line of vision between the stars and the youth sitting next to him //Ai, what have I done to you? Your family? Your son? \\. Tenshi's voice broke Tomoe from his thoughts; so far all he heard was something about that girl Sakura and how she wouldn't leave him alone. Tomoe nodded as he began to speak about all these odd people he had met, but the one that caught his attention the most was the topic about a ice haired child.
"He kept asking me about what I'm searching for and what I'm running from" Tenshi said looking down and pulling thread from his pant leg, "I guess the only thing I'm searching for is who may be my kin, so that I can know more about myself. I want to know more about my parents, and maybe find out who killed them, but that guy's probably been dead for a while now, oh well". Tomoe flinched at the tone in Tenshi's voice, it wasn't like him at all //He has good reason though \\ Tomoe thought. He looked over at the young man to see that he now had almost taken the hem of his pant leg off and was collecting the thread in a little pile. //Why did this have to happen? Why did he kill her? \\ Tomoe thought, near tears as he stared at the one person that resembled his lost love the most [well Tomoe, consider yourself lucky] a malicious voice chided [you didn't want the boy's father to have her, so now no one does].
Tomoe shook his head; he could feel the strange presence coming back to him. He reached over and placed his hand on Tenshi's head causing the boy to look up at him, "Tenshi" he began "After tomorrow I may never see you again". The youth looked at him quizzically, "what do you mean?" Tenshi asked waiting intently "I can't really tell you, but know after this day, that nothing is as it seem " Tomoe explained quickly "some day, I will do something that I will have no control over or I will become harsh, and until that day be on your guard!" Tomoe clasped his hands around Tenshi's and looked deep into the green pools of emotion "know full well that I never meant to hurt you" Tomoe said "and promise me that you will never stop being who you are".
Tenshi nodded slowly, it was so unusual that Tomoe was acting this way, but for some reason he believed the erratic man and agreed to his pleas. Tomoe smiled and turned his attention back to the heavens, "you should get to sleep and change out of those clothes, or you'll get sick" he told Tenshi. The Chouwan nodded, bid Tomoe goodnight and left the room, leaving the older man alone to deal with his demons [so nice of you to give Tenshi some advice Tomoe] the voice sneered [and because of your insolence, you get the great privilege of being suspended into eternal darkness]. Without another word, a black mist engulfed Tomoe and his soul was taken to an endless void of blackness, leaving his physical body in its wake. Now a new form remained on the floor, his soulless, dead eyes narrowing, and a cruel smile was plastered to his face, "Soon Yuusha, I will have my revenge" the sinister creature laughed.
***Other room***
Tenshi opened the door to his room quietly and walked to the bed where Nami was curled up sleeping on the quilt that was laid out on the bed. He stripped of his soiled and wet clothes and changed into pants and a tank top. Before laying down to sleep, he covered the sleeping form of Nami with a small blanket, and slipped into bed beside her before snuffing out the candle and closing his eyes. Tenshi lay there for a few minutes; he was unable to sleep, because he was actually worried about what Tomoe had said about leaving tomorrow. "What did he mean exactly?" Tenshi asked himself while he was staring at the ceiling; although Tomoe was sometimes horrible, Tenshi saw passed that tonight. He was truly worried that when he woke up tomorrow that Tomoe would no longer be there. Tenshi sighed and rolled over, he was sure that he would not get any sleep tonight and even if he did, they would be full of nightmares and odd visions again. Sighing again he closes his eyes and drifted into horror filled sleep.
***Next morning***
Tenshi awoke to a throbbing sensation in his skull. It was not the first time he had ever woken up in extreme pain; it was just this morning it felt worse then usual. Tenshi swung his legs over the bed and gingerly placed his feet onto the cold surface of the floor; he looked over at the sleeping form on the bed and smiled. He was glad that he had gotten Nami away from those boys and even more grateful that she was safe. Tenshi dressed quickly and headed to the window to look for any sign of the dove he had sent free two nights ago "*Sigh* I hope Nami didn't get a hold of her" he said aloud, then began to laugh quietly. Regaining his composure, he tightened his tunic and opened the door silently as to not wake up the small cat girl snuggled in the blankets.
Outside the door, he was met with the questioning yet compassionate eyes of Kaia. She approached him and looked deeply at his fatigue-etched face, and pressed her cool hand on his brow. "You feel warm" she told him "are you well?" Tenshi nodded slowly, but small cracks in his neck said otherwise about his current state of health. Kaia's eyes began to water as she stared at her best friend; she could sense the pain radiating off him and she slowly embraced him trying to hide her tears. Normally she was very strong willed and barely let a tear slip from her eyes, but when something happened to Tenshi, she was willing to make an acceptation.
"You don't need to lie to me Tenshi" she said with her face buried into his chest, "you've been my best friend since we were both five years old, and I know more about you then anyone". Tenshi smiled slightly, he had always believed that Kaia would be the perfect choice for a wife for him or anyone. He had always liked her, the way she laughed and smiled to the way she could yell down anyone willing to hurt her friends or family. He also liked her long blue hair and her odd amber eyes. Tenshi felt his face grow warm, it was then he realized that he was blushing quite profusely as the young woman remained embracing him. "Um, Kaia-chan?" Tenshi asked uncertainly, somehow feeling a little better then before. The azure haired girl looked up at him "I'm really alright now Kaia, so you need not worry about my issues, and focus on your own, if you have any". Kaia smiled brightly at her friend and removed herself from his body.
The two teens turned when they heard the door down the hall open and Tomoe step out. Tenshi felt the atmospheres turn cold as the man walked nearer, and every hair on the back of his neck stood on end. //It wasn't like this last night \\ Tenshi thought //he was normal, something's not right \\ Tomoe stopped in front of Tenshi and smiled too awkwardly for the Chouwan's taste. "Good morning Tenshi, Kaia" he greeted still smiling and staring at Tenshi in the most bizarre way, which was unnerving the boy more than anything in the world. Tenshi kept a cold gaze locked with the man in front of him, never in all his twelve years of knowing Tomoe was he this cautious and concerned for others safety as well as his own.
Tomoe smirked a little before walking away from the two adolescents and retreating to the study down the stairs. "That was so strange" Kaia said moving closer to Tenshi; she could feel the frigidness left in the hallway from the king's departure. Tenshi on the other hand knew that something must be up with Tomoe to make him act so differently. //I just need to ask him perhaps \\ Tenshi mused //maybe he's just upset from last night, he seemed on edge last evening \\ The Chouwan snapped from his thoughts when he felt gentle poking on his arm; he looked down and saw Kaia giving him a pouting look. "What?" Tenshi asked. Kaia smiled at him sadly, "nothing, but don't you think that this is all so strange?" she asked, "I mean, I've been getting these bad feelings every day since I first heard about coming here".
"I've been getting strange feelings too Kaia-chan" Tenshi said; he was sure that his visions were to come true, just like everything else that had happened to him lately. "Perhaps you should do a reading on yourself, or me?" Kaia suggested; Tenshi sighed deeply and walked down the steps. He could hear the tapping of Kaia following him "hey, where are you going?" she asked catching up to him. The Chouwan looked at the door to the outside, then back at Kaia.
"Well, I was going to go find that thief from the other day" Tenshi explained "he leaves me wanting to know more…. Or maybe it's because he was in my dream one time ahaha". Kaia's face fell in annoyance; Tenshi almost always acted like such a fool, and today was no acceptation, even after all the strange behavior between Tenshi and Tomoe he still managed to act like an idiot. Kaia shrugged her shoulders and retired into the dinning hall, leaving a perplexed Tenshi; the Chouwan huffed and crossed his arms before leaving the castle yet again. //Here I walk all alone \\ Tenshi thought furiously //she just walks away and doesn't even pry, what's with her anyway!!!? \\
Tenshi began to walk subconsciously towards the forest where he saw the strange youth from that day run towards. It was about two miles into the deep forest did Tenshi finally snap out of his trance and noticed that he was deep into the lush wood, "oh crap, how do I get back?" Tenshi pondered. Looking around, the youth began to panic and ran around wildly trying to find a means of escape, "MASA NO KA, MASA NO KA!!!!!! (Crap I'm Lost!) AHHHHHHH" he yelled running around in circles then finally tripping over uplifted roots and sent sprawling under a tree, "youji (ouch)". In another part of the forest, Li Yamasaki walked carelessly through the forest with his pet Etowa-ru by his side.
"It's really a nice day isn't it?" Li asked the wolf, who nodded in reply. The two of them stopped when they heard an unusual language being yelled and a loud thump followed by another strange word. The two of them began to run towards the sound and stopped when they saw the strangest sight before them; there face down in the dirt, ass in the air, was a young man with silver hair, laced with teal colouring, and wearing a assortment of odd colours. Li exchanged glances with Etowa-ru and finally decided to help the man up; he slowly approached and made sure that the person was unarmed before kneeling down next to the youth.
"Um, hey, you alright?" Li asked placing his hand on the other man's back. Tenshi nodded to the voice and began to rise off the ground with the help of Li. Once Tenshi was fully upright, he turned to meet the eyes of the one whom plagued his dreams so many nights ago. Li couldn't even breathe as he looked into the face of the strange man that had confronted him just yesterday. Both men realized their current closeness and jumped away from each other, both blushing furiously. "What are you doing here freak?" Li asked, breaking the awkward silence; Tenshi narrowed his eyes at the other teenager.
"HEY! I have a name you idiot" Tenshi yelled "and I am not a freak". Li smirked at the sudden outburst from the Chouwan, "I'll call you whatever I want" Li chided back "you were the one who made me give the money back, AND I NEEDED IT!!!". The two young men glared at each other for what seemed like hours to Etowa-ru; never in his life had he seen two people act so strangely around the other, Li yelled, the other guy would yell. Li would insult, then the other guy would insult, and it was all so confusing for the large creature. Tenshi stopped his glaring when he noticed Etowa-ru at the far left of the raven-haired youth; removing his gaze from Li, he walked over to the wolf and kneeled down in front of him.
"Wow, I've never seen a wolf like you before" Tenshi said scratching the creature behind the ear; Etowa-ru practically melted at the treatment from the other person //wow, this is really nice \\ Etowa-ru thought //this angel person is so kind \\. Li watched in annoyance that his best friend was practically fawning all over that freak, just because of a scratch behind the ear, "grrr TRAITOR!!!" Li yelled snapping Etowa-ru and Tenshi away from their little bonding session. Both of them turned to see Li with his teeth bared and breathing deeply, the ebony-haired youth stormed over to Tenshi and stared down at him.
"What is your deal!" Li asked the Chouwan, his hands were balled into fists so tight, that his fingernails were digging into his palms. Tenshi simply shrugged and stood to face the erratic youth, "nothing, I was looking for you actually" Tenshi explained, which caused Li to stare at him, with confusion all over his face, "what?" Li asked simply. Tenshi rolled his eyes slightly and stepped towards Li, which caused the other boy to back away cautiously "you're not going to tell me all that bullshit about that dream are you?" Li asked. Tenshi nodded to the question, but he wasn't really paying attention, he was too busy with noticing certain things about the lewd youth, like how he was at least two inches taller then Tenshi and the way his green eyes flashed when he was angry.
"What's your name?" Tenshi asked the taller man, never breaking eye contact; Li stopped ranting and nearly choked on his words. Li stared long at Tenshi //he just asked me what my name was \\ Li thought //no one ever wants to know who I am, then why would he? \\. Tenshi waited patiently, he had his face fairly close to the other boy's to see that he was concentrating hard on something; Li blinked and looked at the Chouwan with a new found respect, "my name is Li Yamasaki" he said softly looking at the ground. Tenshi smiled at the youth, now named Li. He didn't have a lot of friends so perhaps he could make a friend out of this strange fellow. Tenshi sighed loudly and tapped Li on his shoulder, "so, you want to know who I am?" Tenshi asked walking around Li followed by Etowa-ru. Li looked up at the vivacious teen, in all his life he had never met anyone who was this strange and weird before and frankly it was unnerving him.
"FINE, IF YOU JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!!!" Li yelled, which caused Tenshi to stop dead in his tracks and keep his eyes downcast in embarrassment, "sorry" he whispered. Li didn't know why, but he suddenly felt bad for even raising his voice at the other boy, "hey I'm sorry man" Li said. Tenshi looked up and nodded slightly, "so, could you tell me your name?" Li asked; Tenshi smiled and grabbed Li's hand like he had many times before "My name is Tenshi Hikari" he chimed shaking Li's hand and bowing after. Li stared at him in shock, this guy was acting like a complete lunatic //he has absolutely no respect for anyone and he has no pride \\ Li thought in slight disgust.
"Hey Li" Tenshi began "I need to speak with you about something"; Li groaned and began to walk away "I don't have time to deal with that stupidity Tiensi" Li said leaving with Etowa-ru. Tenshi was shocked beyond recognition, never had he met someone so rude and arrogant. Tenshi growled low and ran after the brash young man. "Hey, what the hell's wrong with you!? Tenshi demanded grabbing Li by the collar of his tunic, "I only needed to ask you something, you pig-headed son of a bitch!" That remark got to Li the most, he turned around and punched Tenshi in the face, sending the Chouwan flying back into a tree. Tenshi groaned in pain and looked up to see Li standing over him. The raven-haired youth leaned over and grasped Tenshi by the hair and pulled him up.
Li brought Tenshi close to his face and scowled at him "have respect for people you annoying little freak!" Li yelled, then dropped the rather hurt Chouwan onto the ground then turned and left. Tenshi looked in the direction of the retreating form of Li, and couldn't stop the tears from falling. He hastily tried to wipe them away, but they would not cease; he leaned back against the tree and remained there for minutes until he heard a few twigs snap near him. He turned his head and saw an elderly man walking towards him; the old man had very pale ice blue hair and very dark blue eyes and he was clad in dark blue and white.
"Hmm, why all the tears young man?" the old man asked kneeling next to Tenshi. The young Chouwan looked up at the man and noticed that he looked familiar //he looks like that weird kid from the yesterday \\ the youth thought //maybe it was his grandson I met \\. Tenshi lowered his head and again the tears sprang in his eyes, "why are people so quick to judge others?" Tenshi asked the elderly man while he stood up rather shakily. The old man smiled sadly and placed his hand on Tenshi's shoulder "some don't realize that they hurt others sometimes" he said "they grow up thinking that their way is right, and never give people a chance because of that". Tenshi nodded, he understood exactly what the old man was talking about, he knew that some people acted differently due to their upbringing, he was a prime example; but unlike others, he stayed true to his father's request and hadn't changed.
Tenshi looked up and noticed that the old man was now gone, there wasn't a trace of where he was just standing moments ago, "huh? Hey, old man" Tenshi yelled looking behind trees "where are you!?" Tenshi sighed and gave up; he wasn't quite in the mood to search for the elder man. Groaning from the impact of the tree on his head he sat down on the ground and closed his eyes. His thoughts began to drift back to Li; he was now having a hard time keeping the thoughts away.
"WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tenshi jolted up and stared at the face of Erinu; she smiled at him and tapped his face lightly, "get up Tenshi". Tenshi arose with the help of Erinu and noticed an older man standing not to far away. He was lightly tanned, with dark purple hair and blue eyes; he stood a good six feet and towered over Tenshi. Erinu glanced between Tenshi and the other man; she led Tenshi over to him and nudged him forward "Tenshi" she said "this is Reiko Yasashii, he's my brother's lover". Tenshi smiled and bowed to Reiko, "hello there, I'm Tenshi Hikari," he said; it was then that he realized Reiko was giving him a rather odd look.
"Erinu, you know that people aren't suppose to be this close to our home" he warned glaring at Tenshi "they could find out about everything". Erinu nodded and rolled her eyes, "yea whatever Rei-kun" she laughed then turned serious when she saw his face, "okay, well Tenshi, I have to go and so do you". Erinu began to push the Chouwan away, while Tenshi tried to fight back "hey! What are you doing?" he yelled at her, but she continued to drag him out of the forest with the help of Reiko. After some struggling Reiko picked Tenshi up and threw him out into Zujou field.
Tenshi looked back, pain shining in his eyes //what did I do? \\ he thought sadly picking himself off the ground. He slowly walked back to the castle village; he saw many merchants trying to get his attention and many children wandering away from their mothers. He noticed friends and family walking and laughing about and it was then that he could no longer stand it. He ran to the nearest and most deserted place that he could find where he was sure no one would follow.
Deep in the back of the crowded castle market was the cemetery; he began to look at all the monuments gracing the graves and estimated their age of death. //So many people died young \\ Tenshi thought kneeling in front of one of the graves and brushing away the moss that covered it //I wonder what these people died from? \\. He read what every grave marker said and then finally noticed a lone grave far from the others; though he thought he might have been losing his mind, he could swear that he could hear someone crying near the grave. Trusting his judgement he traveled the short distance and stared long at the sight before him.
Sitting with knees drawn up to her chest and crying her eyes out, was a little girl, no older then four with light brown hair, a round face and huge brown eyes. Tenshi approached her cautiously, afraid that he may scare her, "hey, are you all right?" he asked quietly. The small girl looked up, her face puffy and red from the amount of tears that had fallen from her eyes, "how can you see me?" she asked in a light feathery voice. Tenshi looked at her perplexed, "what do you mean?" he asked his voice shaky; she blinked at his question "no one has seen me since the day I died sir" she explained wiping her eyes.
"What are you talking about?" Tenshi asked again "I can see you fine"; the girl nodded and looked away from him. Tenshi kneeled down to her level, causing her to return her gaze to him again "I died many years ago sir" she said again "when I died my soul was sent to purgatory, I know not why sir, it just happened and I don't know what I am to do". She began to cry again and Tenshi embraced her to cease her sorrow "shh don't cry" Tenshi comforted "it's not to worry about". The little girl pushed him away and stared deep into his eyes, "you don't understand" she said calmly "you are in a form of purgatory are you not?"
"I'm afraid I don't understand what you are talking about" Tenshi said; the girl sneered at him, "lies! ALL LIES, THAT'S ALL IT'S EVER BEEN" the girl screamed "THEY PROMISED THEY'D COME BACK, MAMA YOU PROMISED!!!!!!!". The girl continued to scream obscenities until Tenshi backed away from her; he watched as the phantom of the small girl disappeared from his sight. Tenshi breathed heavily, "what the fuck was that!?" he said aloud resting against one of the grave stones. He waited as he caught his breath, but then stood up again when he felt a hand on his shoulder, "you shouldn't listen to what the young girl says" a man, obviously blind, said to Tenshi. The old man smiled at Tenshi and walked away from him slowly. Regaining his senses Tenshi followed slowly, "w-who are you?" he asked.
"I am the caretaker" the man said "I watch over the graves and comfort the poor souls that cannot simply rest"; Tenshi stepped closer and sighed, "sir tell me, what happened to many of the people here?" he asked. The old man smiled sadly and nodded towards a small house in the far back of the graveyard. Once inside the old man put a kettle on the stove and sat down, ushering Tenshi to do the same. "So you wish to know of these people's deaths eh?" he asked rubbing his hands together "goodness it's getting colder out there"; Tenshi nodded at both statements "it has gotten colder, as if death itself is beginning to surface" Tenshi said staring into the fire of the stove.
The old man made a noise in his throat and leaned back, "I do not often tell others about these people's passing, but I trust you" he said "before the reign of the king, there lived another ruler of this kingdom, which was previously called Akuryou. Now, the man that ruled had everything he could want, a wife, three sons, and a young daughter, and everyone loved and respected him, but he had a dark side no one knew of and they believe that is what killed him". The old man arose and walked to the stove to retrieve the boiling water, he slowly mixed his tea and listened intently to the breathing patterns of his young guest. Setting a cup down for himself and Tenshi he continued his story.
"Now, around the fourth birthday of his daughter, the monarch began to hear voices deep in his subconscious, he reported this to many of the doctors, and I was one of them" he explained. "The other doctors thought nothing of it and sent him on his way, I however watched him closely for any signs of this change. I saw him, one evening, beating his wife and he took a razor to her; around that time I stepped in and stopped him. It was so odd, he was excessively violent one minute, then completely kind and loving the next. Well this went on for several months, and one day I received a letter requesting my services at a patients home, so I left…that's when things went horribly wrong".
Tenshi looked up from his tea and saw the old man press his fingers to his temples, "hey, are you alright?" he asked placing his cup down; the old man nodded and breathed deeply. "Sorry, I just hate telling this part" he explained "after I was gone, the strange voice began to taunt him and it told him to do things that he would normally never think of doing. It was one night when the demon got to him and he did the unthinkable. He had all the exits of the town barricaded and boarded up. He lit the houses on fire and then turned on his own family. He decapitated his entire family, except his daughter, whom he was unable to find. She ran to the outside in a feeble attempt to escape, but all the fire and debris kept her from getting out".
Tenshi remained silent, never had he heard something so morbid as a man that was so mentally disturbed that he would do something like that; he looked up when the old man cleared his throat. "Still, the man found his daughter and he broke her neck, then after this he took his own life, by impaling himself on an iron gate" the old man closed his eyes and a few tears filled his eyes. "I came back two days after and found my home destroyed and so many corpses littered the ground; in my dread, I began to find an empty lot, and I started to take the bodies and bury them. It was the same place where we sit today, young man". Tenshi remained silent as he stared down at the green liquid in the small teacup; he wanted to know what or who would have caused the king to do what he did.
"Where is the king buried now?" Tenshi asked not looking up. The old man thought for a moment and told him that the king was located far in the back in a tomb. Tenshi stood up and said his good-byes to the old man before leaving the small house. He knew had to know what happened, so he quickly ran to where the elderly man mentioned and stopped at the monument of the king. //This must be it? \\ he thought trying to push the stone out of the way. After some choice words and sore shoulders later, Tenshi was able to push the rock aside and ascended down the flight of stairs that awaited him.
Inside the old chamber is smelt awful, the smell of rotted and charred corpses; he walked for about two minutes until he came to a door. Gathering up his nerve he pushed the door open and looked around his surroundings…nothing is what he saw. The only thing in the entire room was a stone casket with a silk draped across it; Tenshi approached it and read the name "Yusuke Wahei" he said aloud. Tenshi felt the air change and looked up to see a figure in the dark, "that was what I used to be called" the figure said, "it was until I let him take over". Tenshi squinted in the dark and saw the man or apparition in the corner; the man wore torn and bloodied clothes and it was obvious of how he killed himself. "Who took over you?" Tenshi asked walking over to the spirit; "a strange soul, he called himself Akuryou" Yusuke explained "at first I simply thought I was just hearing things, but soon, he took over and controlled all my actions, even to the point that I killed my family and all my people".
Tenshi nodded sadly, "yes I heard about that" he explained shifting uncomfortably; Yusuke noticed this and disappeared allowing Tenshi to leave. Not needed to be told twice, Tenshi ran from the room and up the stairs and stopped when he heard a voice echoing, "this is my story" it said "the bloody history of what one crazed man is capable of, be on your guard, he may find you". With that the voice faded into the background. Tenshi ran from the tomb and left the graveyard not stopping until he arrived at the castle.
Tenshi ran into the castle, taking out many people in the halls of the large home and tripping over anything breakable until he reached the library. He slammed the door open and ran over to Kaia, whom was sitting quietly and reading a large book. "Kaia-chan!" Tenshi sat down on the floor in front of her and stared up at her like a lost dog, "Kaia" he whined pulling at her dress, as she kept ignoring him. Pouting slightly, Tenshi stood up and placed his head on her knees and again stared at her; finally finished with the chapter she was reading, Kaia looked down at Tenshi and raised a slender blue eye brow, "what are you doing?" she asked placing her book down.
Tenshi stood up and sat on the arm of the chair in which she was sitting on, "I found out something rather interesting" he said picking at her hair, as she swatted him away, "like what?" she said while laughing "oh wait, you found that guy right?" Tenshi scowled at the thought of Li Yamasaki and crossed his arms "I don't really want to discuss him" Tenshi said moodily "he's an idiot if you've ever seen one". Kaia rolled her eyes and nodded, "so?" she asked. Tenshi laughed nervously and sat down on the floor again, crossing his legs underneath him, falling back as he did so.
"I heard, Kaia-chan" he began "that Yoake is actually the scene of a mass murder by the old ruler of this place before Katsuhiro took over!" Kaia stared blankly at the Chouwan "what the hell did you smoke?" she asked standing up and sitting up him "and, can I have some?" Tenshi sighed and sat up, coming nose to nose with the azure-haired girl "yes you can, but I'm serious about the whole Yoake scandal thing" he explained. Kaia was about to reply when someone stepped in the room; both teens turned their heads to see Kuroku and Katsumi staring at them "why is it we can never leave the two of you alone?" Kuroku asked.
The two of then didn't move "do you mind?" Tenshi asked wrapping his arms around Kaia "we are but in the throws of passion Otousan". Kaia began to blush deeply at the statement and felt so light headed at the closeness of Tenshi; Kuroku shook his head while laughing, "you are so weird at times Tenshi," he said walking over to the fireplace and lighting it. Tenshi stared in wonderment, "hey Kuroku?" he asked "what are you doing, I didn't know that you were a maid here?" The older man glared at the Chouwan, "no Tenshi, I'm lighting a fire because it's getting so cold lately" he explained, while he threw wood into the hearth.
Tenshi let go of Kaia and stood up, "hey Kuroku, have you ever heard of Yusuke Wahei?" he asked kneeling next to the tanned man and helping with the logs. Kuroku shook his head, "sorry kid, I don't really know anything about the people around here" he replied "ask Katsuhiro or Tomoe". Tenshi cringed and felt small, "I'm not about to ask him anything right now" Tenshi explained playing with a fire poker "he freaks me out, especially lately, he's been acting kind of weird". The three other occupants remained silent and exchanged glances, "um Tenshi?" Katsumi asked, "care to elaborate on that?" Tenshi thought for a moment, "what do you mean?"
"Well, Tomoe is always acting weird" she explained "so, when you say he's acting odd, we don't know at what degree that weirdness truly is". Tenshi blinked repeatedly and looked between the three, "okay, I'm going to go now: he said getting up and walking out of the library followed by Kaia, "ne Tenshi?" she asked stepping beside him "did you ever find that guy?" Tenshi stopped in his tracks and scowled "YES, I did" he said emphasizing the yes, "and he picked a fight with me". Tenshi scowled at the thought and suddenly remembered something //perhaps Erinu and that guy Reiko know anything? \\ he thought //oh, but they may not want me to find them \\.
Tenshi gave up any sort of attempt and thought at the moment, he simply walked to the throne room door, not before being tackled by Nami, and knocked on the door. //Maybe Katsuhiro can explain something to me \\ he thought //then perhaps he could enlighten me about this place and why the spirits do not rest \\. "Come in" the voice of Katsuhiro commanded; Tenshi regained his composure and waked in. The kind king smiled as Tenshi approached "ah hello Tenshi" the king greeted "do you need something?". Tenshi nodded and stood in front of the older man, "yea, I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about Yusuke Wahei". Katsuhiro remained quiet, "oh my, that will take some time to tell" he explained "this is what I know…"
