Kanshai slipped nimbly through the forest, the pace of her heart quickening, strands of amber hair stuck to her face, her own sweat performing as glue.
Her legs collapsed beneath her, she fell onto the stony forest floor, gasping for breath.

Her petit frame shivered, goose-bumps rose from beneath her peach hued skin, the moon cast an eerie glow on her pale face and her green eyes blinked, trying to concentrate on what was moving in the foliage.

Kanshai could see flashes of diaphanous white cloth through the trees, it was only a matter of seconds before he appeared, standing over her, his red eyes radiating power. His skin was ghostly and white, one could almost see right through it, into the black behind him.

Tears fell down her face, she closed her eyes, the salty water squeezed her eye-lids open, he was watching her, he leaned down, grinning into her face, "Who are you", she whispered.

"Haven't you guessed", he replied. "Are you..are you..?", she paused, fear catching her words. "Yes, I am Dryak".

Dryak whistled sharply, deep in the forest they heard the shrill cry, their lithe but muscular forms springing into action, leaping through the trees to their master.
The wolves arrived; surrounding Kanshai, white pupiless eyes staring towards her, drool clinging to their ebony canines.

Dryak leant down, tracing Kanshai's features, he laughed, his laugh poured out of his pitless black hole of a mouth, echoing around her. Then and there she fainted, mind engulfed by pitch black.
