Raven woke up suddenly in a cold sweat. She looked around here seeing her typical dark room.

 

"Ugh" she mumbled as fell back into her pillow. She looked at the clock.

 

"mmm" she mumbled again as she noticed the clock had no time showing.

 

"How the hell did that happen" she said getting up to attempt to plug it back in. It was plugged in. Her senses then heightened. She stood up and looked around with her eyes. She then closed her eyes and tried to sense something.

 

"Nothing but an over active air conditioner" She said shivering a little bit.

 

"Surely I would think you would pick up my presence" A voice said behind her. She turned around only to see a shadow zip across the wall.

 

"Who's there" She said looking around frantically.

 

"Behind you" the voice said. She turned around.

 

"It's you" She said with a gasp.

 

"None other" he said. He stood about 6'3" shoulder-length blonde hair, blue eyes, tone, and a slight tan. He wore Baggy Denim jeans with black flip flops, a black wife beater, some sunglasses that rested on the tip of his nose, and a black Red Sox hat.

 

"But how" she asked as she took a second look at him.

"I was granted freedom" he said.

 

"This can't be real" Raven said taking a step back. He walked over to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. It sent a sensation through her she had never felt before, it felt like a combination of all feelings, pain pleasure hot cold, all in one.

 

"You still don't believe" He said taking his hand off her. She took a second to regain her composure.

 

"So why are you in this realm"? She asked.

 

"Well I was granted freedom so I am now merely a wanderer of the Earth, and I came here wondering if I could stay temporarily" He said.

 

"So your a lost spirit then" Raven said in her monotone voice.

 

"For lack of a better word, yes" He said.

 

"Fine by me, not sure how the rest of the group will take it though" Raven said.

 

"I'm friendly" he said with a smirk.

 

"I would hope so" she said.

 

"So can I stay"? He asked.

 

"You saved my life, the least I could do is give you a place to stay" Raven said.

 

"Alright cool, one more thing" He said going over to her nightstand. "Wear this" He said handing her the necklace.

 

"Why" She asked curiously.

 

"Well by letting me stay your kinda opening up Pandora's Box ya know, I'm not the only wandering spirit out there. If you wear this will prevent any other spirits from coming in" he said handing her the necklace.

 

"I can handle spirits" She said putting on.

 

"Not the kind I'm thinking of" he said.

 

"So where are you going to be staying"? She asked curiously.

 

"I'll be around, if you need me just call out for me in your mind, I'll hear you" He said as he walked over towards her wall.

 

"Wait" She said.

 

"What" he said looking behind him.

 

"What's your name"? She asked.

 

"Brad, Brad Foster" He said as he walked through the wall.

 

"Brad huh" She said to herself.

 

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK.

 

She opened the door a crack, it was Robin.

 

"Uh hey it's time for dinner, we ordered some pizza" Robin said.

 

"Alright, I'll be down" She said.

 

"By the way nice necklace" Robin said.

 

"Thanks" She said.

 

"Hey who were you talking too"? Robin asked inquisitively.

 

"You'll see" she said as she shut the door. Robin just stood there confused.

 

Later that night the titans were all around on the couch watching TV.

 

"Everyone" Raven said standing up off the arm chair.

 

"Hey, I'm watching something" Beastboy said waving his hands to get her to move.

 

"What is it" Robin said seeing the importance of her message through her facial expression.

 

"As you all remember, I told you the story about how I was in a car accident with my guardian at the time" Raven explained.

 

"And the boy saved you" Robin said.

 

"Yes, Well we are going to have a guest with us for a little while" Raven said.

 

"What, who is it" Cyborg asked.

 

"I think it would just be better if I showed you, everyone looked out the window" She said referring to the large window in the lounge area.

 

"You can come out now" Raven thought to herself. At first nothing.

 

"Ok" Beastboy said a little confused.

 

"Just hold on" she said feeling the temperature decrease a little bit. The lights flickered once or twice, at first all they saw in the window was the city sky line and their reflections. But then they saw someone walking towards them. It was Brad, slowly pacing his way to the window. Starfire looked behind her and saw no one there, but when she looked back she saw him approaching the window still. He put his hand on the window and walked through it. And their stood Brad in his usual attire.

 

"What the hell" Cyborg said as he stood up pointed his arm cannon at him.

 

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god" Beastboy said hiding behind the couch.

 

"It's alright, he's safe" Raven said putting her hand on Cyborg's gun as he slowly put it down.

 

"What are you" Robin asked as he walked up to him.

 

"Think of a spirit with a mid-life crisis" He said jokingly.

 

"This is the boy who rescued me, he needs a place to stay for a little while until he figures out what he's going to do next, and since he saved my live it's the least we can do" Raven explained.

 

"I can't believe what I'm hearing, we're going to allow our tower to be haunted" Beastboy said still hiding behind the couch.

 

"I promise I won't be a problem of any sort" He said.

 

"Where do you intend on staying"? Robin asked.

 

"Wherever I'm welcome" He said.

 

"Then just hang out in the lounge" Robin said.

 

"Will do" He said.

 

"So what is your name wandering spirit"? Starfire asked.

 

"Brad Foster, call me Brad" he said casually.

 

"I hope you plan on playing rent" Cyborg said cheering up a bit.

 

"Well I don't got no money, but I'm good cook and one hell of a Madden player" He said smiling.

 

"Good enough for me" Cyborg said. Brad looked at Beastboy.

 

"I see you have certain suspicions of me" He said looking at him as he slowly left the safety of the back of the couch.

 

"You're a ghost" Beastboy said simply.

 

"Well you see that necklace on Raven, as long as she wears it I'm allowed to stay here, if she takes it off and says an incantation which I know she knows, I'll be banished. It also prevents other spirits from entering this property" Brad explained. Beastboy walked over to Raven.

 

"I'm watching him" He said as he continued walking to his room.

 

"I'm sorry" Brad said looking down.

 

"You have nothing to apologize for, He can be like that sometimes" Starfire said.

 

"Ok then well I'm gonna go rest" Brad said as he walked through the window again and disappeared.

 

Robin walked over to Raven

 

"Beastboy is right; we are all going to watch him. But in the end he's your responsibility" Robin said as he walked to his room.

 

"He seems ok to me" Raven thought to herself. She touched the jewel on her new necklace and went to bed.
