Chapter 4-1-1: Rain
Angela and Jon had been walking for three hours now. Angela began feeling tired, and asked Jon if they could take a quick rest. Jon agreed, and the two of them sat underneath a tall tree covered in moss. After sitting, it started to drizzle outside. Angela loved the rain. She loved how it reminded her of where she was born. In the Hevenal Plains, it rains all the time. The rain was even more beautiful though, when it was over, and color light spectrums located themselves everywhere.
Angela gave a slight shiver, and Jon said, "Angela, you look cold, wear my coat."
Angela agreed, and she put it on. Angela then, felt very sleepy, and laid her head on Jon's shoulder. Angela looked at the night sky, and saw the beauty of the full moon when splattered with the rain.
"I think we should stay here for awhile, just to play it safe." Jon said with a nervous sound in his voice.
"Okay." There was a slight pause after saying this, as the two listened to the raindrops pelt the forest floor.
"Angela, why do you have that chain on her ankle?" Angela gave no response, but just stared at Jon. "I'm sorry, but I'm just wondering."
"It's an electronic tracker."
"A tracker! We have to get that off your ankle then don't we?"
"Yeah, but we need the key, or a blow torch at least."
"I could get it off."
Angela gave no response.
"I could." Jon then had Angela lie on her back, and place her ankle on top of a large rock. Angela was skeptical the whole time. Jon held his arm up, and meditated. He charged his fist, and then went for a punch to her anklet. Angela closed her eyes in fear that she may have her foot broken. Suddenly a cracking noise was heard. Angela opened her eye, and saw the anklet shattered, and the rock on which her foot was on in the same condition. Angela got up, and stared into Jon's eyes with amazement.
"How did you do that?!"
"Just some martial arts technique."
Again the two stayed silence and the rain could be heard all around them.
"Jon, is your place safe?"
"With me there, yes."
Angela gave no response to Jon's answer. Jon lay back against the tree, and Angela laid her head on his lap. She stared up into his eyes, and he stared down into hers. Angela began to feel a little better, and she got up. She looked at Jon who was sitting on the ground. Angela was ready to continue, and the rain had mysteriously stopped, but suddenly… Angela blacked out.
Jon stared down into Angela's green eyes, but then Angela got up and looked ready to go. Suddenly, a black figure formed behind Angela, and Angela fell to the ground like a dead body. A ninja dressed in black was behind her holding his hand out in a knife-like form. Blood trickled down it, and the sick man licked it off with a demented smile on his face.
"So you're the one who saved the girl. She has to go back where she belongs."
Jon gave no response, but got ready to fight the ninja.
"Very well."
The ninja came at Jon with a small dagger. Jon stepped out of his path, but he came back for more. Jon ducked again, and gave the ninja a powerful punch to the gut. The ninja fell to his knees, but tripped Jon onto his back, and jumped upon the warrior. The ninja went to stab Jon, but Jon caught his fist. Jon barely overpowered the black fighter, but was able to throw him off. Jon looked down at his feet, and noticed his leg had been mysteriously cut. Suddenly the pain began to bite at his leg.
The ninja came at him again with the dagger, but Jon caught his arm, and kneed the man in the elbow causing him to drop the dagger. Jon the spun around to his back, and slammed the back of the ninja head into his knee. The ninja flung forward onto the ground.
Jon then jumped high into the air and landed onto the ninja's back. The ninja let out a small cry of pain, but after Jon got off of him, he was ready for more. Jon stood ready to fight, but suddenly the pain in his leg started feeling worse, and Jon legs could barely support him.
"That pain you feel in your leg is a paralyzing poison. In a few minutes, you'll probably be dead or unable to feel anything."
"Well, than I'll have to beat you before that happens, won't I." The man's eyes widened at the warriors remark, and Jon came at him with a powerful punch to the face. The man covered his face as Jon ran and delivered another powerful blow. The uppercut sent the ninja into the air, and before he hit the ground, Jon held out his fist into the air. The ninja's back feel onto it, and he slowly slid off, and was unconscious from the blows.
Jon quietly but quickly walked over to Angela who suddenly woke up.
"Jon, what happened?"
"We have to go, we were attacked." Jon began to help Angela up, and take her hand, but his leg gave out, and he couldn't move it.
"Jon, what happened?"
"It's some sort of poison. I can't feel anything."
"Hold on Jon." Jon lay on his back, and Angela put her hands out to over his chest. Angela closed her eyes, and suddenly a white aurora surrounded the two. Jon had never seen anything so beautiful. Jon began to get the feeling in his body back. When it disappeared, Angela looked very weak, and almost fainted. Angela closed her eyes and fell asleep, but since Jon knew they had to keep moving, he carried her off into the distance.
Angela's light body was no problem for Jon to carry. Jon walked passed the unconscious ninja, and continued on his path to his apartment in Zodiac City. Jon knew they should be out soon since it only took them three hours to walk do four out of the five miles. Angela slept the whole time as Jon walked with her on his back.
Finally, Jon could see his apartment complex. It only meant five more minutes of walking. When Jon got into town, he look at a clocked that was on the street corner, and discovered it was 12:12! Jon was very tired, and he took Angela up to his room, 667, and he opened the door, and laid her on his bed. She awoke at that moment, and saw Jon.
"Is this your place?"
"Yeah Angela, it is."
"Where…"
"I'll sleep on the couch, near the door to watch for intruders, and you can sleep in my bedroom."
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it."
"You know Jon, I've never had anybody be so kind to me in my life."
Jon gave a slight smile, and the got up from the bed. Angela, who was still wearing Jon's jacket, covered herself up in the sheets, and fell asleep quickly in Jon's warm bed. Jon looked at her and felt good inside. He didn't know why, but something inside him told him he totally did the right thing.
Jon undressed into his boxers, and a long sleeve shirt to sleep in. He got a blanket from underneath the bed, and after locking the door, lay on the small brown couch. Jon stared at the ceiling, and wondered about the events of the day.
Today was a very strange day. First thing I know I'm training, and the next thing I'm saving a magical healing girl from a ninja. What next?
That dream was pretty weird too. Why was she in it? I don't know, but luckily it prevented me from changing. She said something about a cure though. I wonder what it is. Maybe she will give it to me. I don't think I should just ask her to give it to me though. Man, today was on for the books, exciting and dangerous. I have to go to sleep though, before I lose my mind thinking about this stuff.
After thinking for a little bit, Jon closed his eyes, and feel asleep. Hopefully his dreams would be more peaceful than the one he had earlier that day.
