*~*~*

Elladan slumped into a chair at Legolas' side, the adrenaline of their return fading, and the effects of the poison becoming clear. His head pounded and he was chilled, and the healing room was swaying slightly.

"Elladan?" His father's voice sounded far away. "Look at me, ion nín."

He had to work to focus his eyes on Elrond's face. His father looked tired, probably was after the amount of energy he had expended mending the broken Prince. "Ada?"

"Rest," Elrond said softly.

With the soft command, Elladan let his eyes glaze over and he dozed lightly, hearing murmured voices around him. His father was giving orders, Elrohir was assuring he was okay, and Elladan felt tugging on his arm.

"I want you to drink this," Elrohir said softly in his ear.

Elladan felt the cup at his lips. He swallowed as warm liquid was tipped into his mouth. It was bitter and he must have made a face because his brother laughed softly.

"It's an antidote," Elrohir explained, continuing to feed Elladan the potion. "The herbs didn't draw enough of the poison away in the field."

Elladan used his good hand to push the cup away from his lips. "Not your fault." He had sensed his brother's guilt. "You okay?"

"Just tired," Elrohir admitted, feeding Elladan another sip.

Elladan sensed his brother was holding something back, but didn't press. He probably didn't need to know. The cup was taken away and Elladan felt himself being gently pulled to his feet and guided to a bed.

"What?" his thoughts were growing muzzy and it was harder to keep himself focused.

"You need to rest, pen-neth," Elrond said softly. "Your body will better combat the poison while you sleep."

"Legolas?" his boots were tugged off.

"He will be fine, Elladan," Elrohir consoled. "I will watch over him. I promise."

With his brother's promise, Elladan slipped into dreams.
