Tina woke up. She slowly opened her eye's to the blaring of more noise from the TV. "What the hell?" She slurred out. She rubbed her eye's and found Kasumi lying next to her, wide awake. She squinted at the schoolgirl. Kasumi tilted her head and gave her a warm smile. "You like, fell asleep write after we had breakfast!" She said cheerfully.

"Huh?" Tina let out, still not fully awake. She looked at her wristwatch, "2:35 PM". Startled at the time she got up. "Kasumi! Why didn't you wake me??" -Kasumi paused, "Cause you looked so peaceful, I didn't really want to disturb you". Tina sighed.
"You snore too much" Kasumi said under her breath. Tina sat up on the bed, "I heard that kid!"

Tina yawned, "hmm, sorry bout that.." -"What's to be sorry about?" Kasumi replied softly. Tina cast her shallow eye's over to the TV again, deep in thought. "So… Did ya get up to anything while I was out, kid?" Kasumi paused then looked over with sorry eye's, "Yes Tina, I'm afraid I seemed to lick your breasts while you were asleep", Tina looked up at her with shock and watched the girl's face slowly crack a smile. "Heh heh heh, nah.. Actually I just took a shower which was a blessing as I didn't have to have a bloody garbage bag around my arm. Plus I went downtown for a couple of hours. Went to the arcade.. I wrote you a note in case you woke while I was gone" She pointed to her note next to Tina. She smiled and reached over to get the note.. Her vision was still slightly hazy, "Hey! gone to the arcade, ill be fine. Be back soon, love Kasumi" *Love…* Tina thought. "Thanks Kasumi" she mumbled.

She crushed up the note and tossed it in the bin. Kasumi tossed her head back on the pillow and sighed.. Lying mere inches away from Tina was comforting. "Tina.." Kasumi started, a slight tremble in her voice, "..I'm afraid" Tina glanced over surprised, "Afraid of what girl?"… Kasumi took a breath and decided that she'd better fill Tina in on.. Everything.

"Tina.. It's Ayane. She'll be back.. I know it. She'll be back to finish you off and back to.. Finish what she wanted done with me.." Her eyes went dark with fear. Tina sat up again, now truly awake. The schoolgirl sat on the bed ridged. "Okay.. Get ready for a strange story, one that you might find pretty hard to believe.." -"Kid.. After this morning.. I'll believe anything you throw at me..". Kasumi sighed, "Alright.. This whole horrible nightmare started around when me and Ayane were 13, Actually.. I was 13, she was 14. She'd heard about a fighting tournament called the Dead Or Alive championship. She had been very skilled in a fighting style known as "Mugen- Tenshin Ninjutsu". She almost had an unnatural talent in it…" Kasumi paused for a moment and resumed. "Anyway, She entered the competition.

They actually accepted her as a competitor.. It was held here, same as this present one. I was happy that she didn't have to go away too far. I continued my schooling as she headed off for her first battle..*" -"Hold on, hold on.. Sorry to interupt.. But er, what did your parents think of this whole prospect at the time?" Tina innterupted. Kasumi's eye's twitched and she glanced down.. *oh crap…* Tina thought.. She'd hit the tender spot. Kasumi clenched her fist as it shook and planted it on the bed.. "My parents.. My parents.. Died, when we were 10.. In a car crash."

Tina put her arm around Kasumi.. "I'm sorry kid.." -Kasumi's eye's followed up "It's okay, I'm over it.. It's the past.. You can't hold on to these things forever.." She tilted her head and stared at the ceiling. She continued, "Well, after they died there was no-one to look after us, and there was no way we were going to an orphanage.. So, they moved us into our own flat. Plus we get youth allowance.. But anyway, that's pointless…

Ayane came back to our flat within 3 days, she had already beaten 2 people! She was so excited.. And I was excited for her too. Life continued, she kept winning bouts. Within about 3 weeks she came back again. She explained that she had to stay in motels as she traveled to different locations in Japan for her fights. I was concerned because she had quite a few bruises and bumps, but she single handedly defeated every single competitor with out any loses! She had a big trophy, plus she won $10,000 in prize money. That night we went out and had a massive celebration. We invited a few friends from school and got pretty wasted… Pretty sad that we both got trashed at the tender ages of 13 and 14…" Tina smiled weakly.

Kasumi coughed.. "Hmm.. Later that morning we woke up with horrible hangovers. Within half and hour the phone rang. Ayane picked it up and a few minutes later came out into the main lounge room again and described that the people at the DOA championship had requested that she compete against one more 'thing'. She didn't have a choice in this fight and was quite confused that they actually used the word 'thing'. Not person."

Tina's face twisted in confusion.. Kasumi looked up at her face and smiled. "Well.. Here comes the scary part.." She said with a shaky voice.. "The fight was to be held here.. Well, I mean.. Here as in where our flat was basically… They coldly said that the competitor would be arriving early the next morning. Ayane was a bit confused but didn't seem worried. I remember her saying something along the lines of "I've come this far, I'm not going to let a 'thing' get in my way.. Besides, I win us $500,000 if I win… And I will win". All of a sudden Kasumi went silent, she was struggling not to cry by the looks of her.. Tina could see the pain in her eyes.

"Don't worry about it Kasumi, you don't have to face the pain again.." Tina whispered into her ear. The girl tilted her head up, "I'm okay.." She mumbled. "Anyhow, The next morning I woke up to the sound of Ayane warming up. It was only 4:30 AM, The contestant wasn't going to arrive till 6:00."

She continued, "Time pasted very quickly that morning, around 6 AM a car pulled up in front of the block of flats. Right on time. It was a black stretch limo with a small moving van attached to the back. We both hurried down, Ayane was dead quiet as we approached the limo. Two tall men stepped out of the back seat.

They congratulated Ayane on her progress. Apparently she was the best female fighter either of them had ever seen. They were pretty amazed at her age too… Then came the scary part, they asked her.. They asked her whether she believed in demon's or not." -"Demon's??" Tina but in. Kasumi stared blankly at the floor.. "Yep, demon's.. We both looked at each other silently, Ayane tried to ask why, and they simply told her to answer the question.. She paused for a moment with confusion and simply answered with 'yeah, I guess so'. They then nodded at each other blankly and told her that her opponent awaited. They went round to the back of the little van and unlocked the padlocks.." A tear ran down Kasumi's cheek. "It was the most horrible thing I'd ever seen. Out stepped a massive ogre.. It was painful to look at and it scared the shit out of me. It was very evil, it had horns, a big nose.. wings, talons.. Everything you only hear about in horror movies and books.

Tina's mouth was hanging open is disbelief.. Kasumi battled to continue the story, "It made it's way over to Ayane. And it spoke, it greeted itself.. Its name was 'Tengu'. It congratulated Ayane on her performance as well, but also warned her that her success was also a mistake… It told her that this was a battle to the end.. I looked over at my sister. Her eyes were shaking with fear. She couldn't escape this fight…

She stared into my eyes as they took her away.. The demon glanced over at me too and smirked.. His eyes.. They burned red. "Ayane!" I yelled. I remember her yelling "Don't worry sis, I'll make it back.. For you.." One of the men then led me off back to the apartment and said nothing. They pushed Ayane into the limo, and the demon got back into his van. Before the man got in too, he turned and faced me.. "Don't worry, your sister is fighting nearby.. She'll be back soon.. If she survives…" He nodded and got in the back seat. They drove off and I fell down onto my knees and cried for the safety of my sister…"

"I went back to our unit, and waited. Powerless to do anything.. I didn't even know the location of the battle. Images of Ayane being torn to shreds entered my mind..

I waited at the window in hope that Ayane would return safely.. Around an hour later my prayers were answered. The limo pulled up out front again. My heart stopped as I waited to see who would get out. The back door flung open and Ayane stumbled out, The feeling of relieve was without words, I ran to the elevator but it was too slow for me. I ran down the fire escape to reach my sister. She staggered about aimlessly. I ran and hugged her tight, we were both crying. Only one man stepped out of the car, his face was ridged "Congratulations, your sister actually won" he said softly, or something like that.. I didn't care what he had to say.. I remember the shock I felt when Ayane yelled out my name in question.. Her eye's were glazed over.. "Your sister's blind.." He mumbled.

I felt the rage building up within me at that time.. I think he was afraid of me, he backed off a bit.. "Don't worry your self little girl, It's only temporary.. Shouldn't last more that an hour.." And with that he got back in the car and it drove off. Blood ran on the road from the van… The demon was dead.

Kasumi rubbed her eyes as she couldn't stop the tears from flowing now.. Yet she went on "I led Ayane up to the unit and lay her down on the couch. Thankfully she didn't have any serious injuries… only a few cuts and bruises. She seemed out of it, and confused. But still, she explained the whole terrible battle to me.. Every aspect.. Apparently it was held in a nearby park.

She told me that the demon Tengu somehow knew every thing about her.. Nothing was left untouched in Ayane's life. Tengu could also teleport, fly and among other things, she explained to me that Tengu could read people's souls. That is how he knew everything. She kept telling me over and over how easy he was to beat. But right before Ayane finished him off he told her something along the lines of "I'm going to be reborn Ayane. You will be my mistress and we will rule this pathetic planet. It's simple really…." Then she told me that he placed his blood soaked hand on her head and she felt lightning, and that she could see images of death, pain and suffering. And her brain felt like it was going to explode…. I remember all of this as clear as glass.."

Tina hugged Kasumi again and held her close. "Kasumi… I, I felt the same thing when I fought Ayane today.. lightning.. death… pain… everything you just explained what she felt at the time…" Kasumi took a deep breath and looked painfully into Tina's eyes.. "Well Tina.. That's because my sister basically is Tengu now…" Her eyes twitched and they were red and swollen from crying. "Oh shit…" Tina started. "I get it now… Tengu must of known that he was getting weaker or something, so he found the strongest person he could to take his place.." Kasumi paused. "…Take his place temporally that is…" Kasumi added. The tears ran down onto the bed sheets. "What??" Tina asked. Kasumi wiped her eyes dry again, "That night, her eye sight came back into place and she went to sleep.. Half way through the night I was woken by Ayane. She was shaking me furiously. 'Kasumi! Kasumi! I, I can't control myself!' She screamed. 'I get.. Images.. Images of you dying… And.. I get voices.. Voices in my head… It's Tengu, Kasumi! He's telling me to kill you!'. My sister repeated these lines over and over again until she simply fell over back to her sleep. I put her back to sleep and I was scared.

At that moment I had a slight inkling of what was going on.. But I didn't want to believe myself. But, my sister got worse over time. The strange events continued. She would bleed from the eyes for no reason whatsoever, she would mumble things in her sleep in a different voice.. These things would go on from time to time. Luckily most of it happened while Ayane was sleeping.. She didn't know about half of it.. I unfortunately did. It wasn't until she turned 16 that the real horrible stuff started happening. Stuff that scared me bad".

She continued.. "On her 16th birthday, she had a party at our unit. While she was cutting her cake, her eyes flashed a horrible blood red and a strange iiree light surrounded her. We were lucky that the guests thought it was a party trick or something.. But we both knew it was far from it. After everybody left, she came up to me and collapsed on me, resting on my shoulder.. She was too scared to stand. Too scared of herself. Later that night we made a pact, that if she was to turn fully into this demon she was slowly becoming.. That I would kill her. We basically cried ourselves to sleep that night.

The worst thing about this that whole experience, is that I couldn't do squat to help her. From then on, her condition degraded. She would have massive convolutions, one minute she'd be watching TV, then she'd be on the floor having spasms, screaming out foreign words and coughing up blood. For that reason she avoided school. The demonic power slowly took over her senses. She scared me at times. The worst time was when I came home from school one day, Ayane was huddled in the corner of the room naked.

She'd engraved symbols into her skin with a knife.. There was blood everywhere… She slowly walked over towards me and grinned. She had no pupils. It was all darkness in her eyes… 'Guess what I learnt today little sister?' She asked me.. She grabbed my arm suddenly and the next thing I knew I was in a field. It was full of.. flowers. It was so peaceful.. I saw Ayane in the distance, she looked happy again. There was a flash and next thing Ayane was in front of me. 'Kasumi, please.. for everybody's sake.. Kill me.. I'm afraid the evil has well and truly set in.. I can't control it…Please Kasumi.. This is.. my last wish.. kill.. me….'

Her face then distorted.. And I was confronted with the well, evil version of my sister. She held her hand up and the landscape burned away to nothing. We were standing in a living hell. I asked her where we were and she replied with 'this is my world'… blood poured out of her eyes and mouth and she warned me that the evil will destroy me on my 17th birthday and demon's will once again take over. There was a flash again and I was back in the unit. The words spun in my head for days. That was the last I saw of my sister.. Until today".

Tina was speechless. All she could do was try and comfort the shaking schoolgirl. By this time a tear had escaped Tina's eye too. Thinking of what Kasumi's had to go through…

"My god.." Tina managed to get out. "Why today Kasumi? Why did she visit you today?".. -"Because.. Tomorrow.. Is my 17th Birthday.. She had to try and find me today.." She looked up at Tina and smiled. Her chin shaked.. "She was going to take me away with her today.. Because tomorrow, her plans are to kill me. She told me all about it this morning for some reason. She kills me and mixes my still unpumping blood with hers and apparently it will mix to create Tengu again. The 17th living Tengu. Ayane's 17, and I turn 17 tomorrow.. It sort of makes sense I guess.." She paused.. "No, not really.. It's still pretty fucked up!" She half joked.

Tina bit her bottom lip and clenched her fist so tight the veins in her wrist popped out. "Well, If she wants to get to you, she's going to have to fuckin deal with me first!" She yelled through clenched teeth. Kasumi looked up and gave her a shaky smile.. "Thank you Tina… Thank you for everything. But I'm afraid this is a fight.. Only I can win.." -"What?" Tina cut in. "Well, you must of experienced it today in your fight with her. Nothing hurts her…. It's a fight played out in her mind".

She paused for a moment.. "I have the power to destroy her because I am related.. I don't understand.. But.. The problem is, is that… I still love my sister.. Even though she's become what she currently is".. Tina sat motionless, "I see…" She mumbled. "So, you can only defeat her through her mind battles things?" -"Yep" Kasumi replied softly. "You saw the damage I did today with the chair?" Tina nodded. "She would have totally recovered from that within half an hour…" Tina cast a frightened look. Mental images appeared of the body on the hospital floor.

Both sat silently, deep in thought.. Tina broke the silence "Hey.. Kasumi.. Today.. Ayane told me that I had ruined her plans.. Do you have any idea what she was going on about?" Kasumi glanced up questionably.. "Err, no… Maybe something to do with the fact that I had a sling around my arm. Maybe the process would take longer if I was injured.. Guess she blamed you cause I fought you that day… But really, I wouldn't have a clue". Tina nodded respectively. "I'm sorry Kasumi.. For what you had to go through…."- Kasumi sat silently. "So… Are you going to get it over with tomorrow?" Tina asked in the kindest voice she could.. Kasumi glanced over.. "Yes" She replied coldly. "Ayane doesn't expect that I'll actually have the guts to kill her.. That might be her downfall" She closed her eyes and rested on the bed.

Tina looked at her watch again "3:48 PM", she adjusted the watch band and looked at Kasumi next to her. Tears still ran down her face, Tina got up which disturbed the bed. Kasumi sat up surprised, Tina threw her over a box of tissue's..

"Thanks" She replied as she yanked one out of the box and blew her nose. Tina sat back down on the mattress and grabbed the remote. She flicked over to the movie channel again and took it off mute. She smiled, now a dubbed version on Ghostbusters 2 was on.
"Hey Tina" Kasumi said gently "I think I'm gunna take a nap.." Tina looked over warmly, "Sure kid, go ahead.." She got up to sit on the chair. "Uh, Tina…" Kasumi blushed a bit.. "Er, could you please stay with me..?" -"Sure, I'll be right here Kasumi" Tina replied happily.. "Thank you.." She replied drowsily. A yawn escaped and she rested her head again on the soft pillows.

Tina was resorted to watching the damn cartoon channel. Giant Robo or something like that was showing. She sighed and looked at her watch "6:47 PM". Geez, where did the time go? She asked herself. Her stomach made horrendous noises.. Hmm.. Time to get dinner she said quietly. She got up with a struggle and picked up the menu.. She quickly glanced over it.. "Hmm.. Number 240, Fisherman's Basket.. That'll do" She cast a look over at Kasumi, she was still fast asleep. Probably best she rests, She thought. She picked up the receiver and dialed the room service number. It was engaged. "Friggin hell" She mumbled. -"What's happening?" Tina spun around startled. It was Kasumi, she rubbed her eye's.

"Sorry if I scared you" She said with compassion. "Nah, fine" Tina replied.. "Hey, I'm ringing room service. You want anything?" She tossed her over a menu. Kasumi stared at it blankly. "Actually, I'm not really that hungry" She answered slowly. Tina cast over a smile. "That's fine, you can just have some of mine if you so feel" -"Whatcha gettin?" She asked, "Uh, A fisherman's basket" Tina replied looking at the menu. "Cool.." She mumbled.

The Canadian hung up the phone. "Damn, there pretty busy. Took em like 5 minuets to answer" She sat back on the bed next to Kasumi. "I dreamed of you" Kasumi said unexpectedly. Tina looked over, her eyebrow raised "What?" -"I had a dream, and you were in it" Kasumi repeated.. Tina's eyes darted around the room.. "Er.. What was I doing in you dream?" Kasumi paused and smiled. "Making my life a better place to live in!" She said cheerfully. With that she got closer to Tina and rested her head on her lap. She glanced up at Tina's face squinting from the light. She then closed her eyes. Tina's face burned. Thoughts popped into her head that freaked her bit. Chill Tina, just because you had an "encounter" with her doesn't mean that she loves you.. Or does it? Or am I blushing because.. I'm falling for Kasumi?. Tina stopped herself.

No, Kasumi's a teenager. Teenage girls do this sort of thing. Tina hung her head in shame in herself. She had just realized the impact she had on Kasumi, going down on a 16 year old girl is not cool…. Her eyes twitched in disbelief… Her head was once again a mess of thoughts.

Kasumi's eyes opened softly and she smiled. Tina looked down at her and ran her fingers through the young girls soft hair. She sighed, "Kasumi.." She started, but couldn't bring out what she wanted to say.. "Kasumi, I'm … Sorry for what I did on that day to you. I had no rights to do that to you..." Her bottom lip started twitching. Kasumi looked up surprised, it took a bit for her to understand just what Tina was talking about. It clicked. Her eyes opened wide, "Tina! Do you think I would have agreed to you pleasuring me that day if I didn't want you to?" She sat up, her face mere inches away from Tina's. "But still.."

Tina began.. "It was just plain wrong.. I found you attractive.. and I relieved my dirty sexual urges on you…" She could feel her eyes watering up. Kasumi held up a finger and wiped a tear from Tina's cheek. "People do these things Tina.. It's natural when you find yourself attracted to another person.." Tina frowned "But for gods sake.. You're a girl! A 17 year Japanese schoolgirl… A fucking innocent girl… Because of me … I'm your first ……" She stopped herself and bit her bottom lip in frustration. Kasumi's eyes shallowed… "Love?" Kasumi asked. Tina looked up bleakly, "What?" -"Your sentence.. I'm your first.. Love" She said quietly.. "Your right Tina, I .. Love you.." That sentence dug straight into Tina's heart. A dagger of emotions piecing her barrier..

Tears flooded down Tina's face.. "You… Love me?" She asked horrified. Kasumi nodded slowly, "I'm sorry Tina.. But I truly love you. It wasn't your actions that day that made me feel this way.. It was your heart.. Any other competitor would have left me to die. But you, you protected me.. And came back to make sure I was safe"
Tina covered her face with her hands and wept, "No Kasumi… This is wrong.." She said coldly.

Tina sighed, "God Kasumi.. You don't want to get involved in my life.." Kasumi smiled, "Why?.." Tina stared blankly at the mattress, not wanting to look into those eyes.. "You just don't kid.. Trust me"
Tina's mind had well and truly ceased functioning. A schoolgirl had just told her that she loved her, but the scary part was that she had feelings for her too. No Tina, your not a full blown lesbian.. You've had boyfriends in the past.. Many! She tried to tell herself but she asked herself more questions to add to that statement.. But did you truly love any of them? That question was a blow to her. She had to stop and think.. Did she actually ever love any of the boys she went out with in high school.. Or the men in her current life? Her heart froze.. Most of them dumped you after they fucked your brains out Tina. They see the outside…. Tina stopped.. She was actually having a conversation with herself which was a tad scary. "They see the outside.." That statement was burned in her memory.

"Kasumi… You see me.. For who I truly am.." She muttered under her breath. Kasumi paused.. Had she just heard Tina correctly?
Kasumi bent over and kissed the Canadian gently on the lips. Tina's eyes opened in shock. She knew this was wrong… But she… didn't… want it… to…stop.
