Chapter 11: Love
_______________________________________________________
I sat on the coach, just relaxing. It was interesting to have someone new in the tower. He seemed to have a lot of potential. Though I still wanted to see him in major combat. After all, Terra had been working for Slade and fought with us. More tests were needed and a life or death fight with Slade would do the trick. All I needed to do was wait.
But I didn’t have to wait for long. The tower alarm sounded and I rushed to the computer consol to see the trouble. As rushed, the others rushed to see what was going on, my mind was racing. I knew that it was Slade but I hadn’t been able to figure out what he was up to. Ever since there was that shadow thing, I had been stumbling to figure it out. It was if Slade had some sort of magician on his side. But that couldn’t matter. All that was important at this moment was making sure who was on side and protect the city.
“So what going on, dude?” Beast Boy asked behind me.
“I’m looking”
My eyes scanned the map furiously, finding trouble in the old warehousing district. What Slade was up to exactly didn’t matter at this point; I just needed to stop him.
“Titans go!” I shouted. The other followed. Seeing as how we had a new member, making the total six, I took the r-cycle. Cyborg drove the others and followed me.
As we sped down the streets, something came over me, something that I had never thought of before. “What if we don’t all make it?” I thought, “What if there’s a thousand of those shadow soldiers. I knew that Dragona could beat them and Raven probably could to. But the rest of us didn’t have any magic. Hope against hope, I hoped we wouldn’t be facing them.
Skidding to a stop, I saw a horde of an unbelievable amount. Slade bots, at least twenty across and twenty deep marched towards us. Seeing as how Slade enjoyed watching, I scanned the area, expecting to see my nemesis looking down on me. And there he was. On the top of one of the warehouses, he stood watching his army approach me and the others as soon as they arrived.
“We’re going to have to take them all,” I shouted back to the others, “and make sure Slade doesn’t get away.” Something told me that he was going to stay and enjoy the fight. And why not? He seemed to have it out for me. I was supposed to be his great apprentice until I got out. Putting my trust in the others, and pulled out my staff as the others came up beside me: Starfire to the left and BB next to her, on my right was Cyborg then Raven and finally Dragona. The look in his eyes told me that he was someone that I could trust and I would know as soon as the battle was finished if he was seriously a titan or not.
“Go,” I shouted, charging at the robotic army, swinging my weapon and taking down my opposition, I watched as the others followed suit. “Blizzard,” I heard Dragona shout. Instant, several of Slade’s drones were encased in ice. As I glanced over, one of the other drones punched at me. Before I could reacted, Dragona proved to be a worth ally as he used his ‘protect’ spell. Although it didn’t stop the attack, the pain was greatly reduced and I nodded in gratitude. Watching the others, I notice Slade starting to step back from his vantage. “Its now or never,” I thought. “Starfire,” I shouted out. She was thrashing the robots with her starbolts but managed to glance my direction.
“What is it Robin?” she asked me. I pointed to where I saw the light reflecting off Slade’s mask. Understanding what I meant, she grabbed my arms and carried me to where I believed Slade was waiting.
“Not so fast Slade,” I yelled as Starfire set me down, “You aren’t going anywhere.”
“Robin,” he siad, almost daring me to attack then, “I wasn’t planning on leaving. Your new friend, I want to see him die.”
“He’s not going to, but you will.”
I lunged at him, weapon drawn. We had fought so many times in the past that we anticipated one another’s attacks almost before they could be used. Nothing got passed and he didn’t hit me. Swinging my bo at his chest, he blocked it, opening himself to a secondary attack which Starfire was gracious enough to offer. The green energy seemed to burn into his side. I had to smile. It was good to see that bastard in pain. But he soon rose to his feet. The one eye that I could see through the mast glared at me, wanting me to drop dead. Of course I didn’t and I retrieved several discs from my belt. Throwing them with precision, they were going to make the fight with Slade short but sweet. I often wondered who was behind the mask and I was going to find out today, or I hoped I would.
Instead of having the desired effect, he leaped into the air, my weapons missing him by mere inches. But inches were all it took to miss my nemesis. Seeing his foot kicking at my face, I grabbed his leg and Starfire launched another starbolt. The force was powerful and knocked him hard enough that I ended up letting go. I watched as Slade slid across the rooftop and hit against the edge. “Good thing that’s there,” I thought. Water was just over the edge and if Slade got in, I knew I would lose him like I had so many times before.
“Well Robin,” he said to me in his cold voice, “I see that you’ve gotten better. Pity that you didn’t stay my apprentice. I would have enjoyed training you.” As he rose to his feet, I could see what was going to happen. Standing on the ledge, he opened his arms, allowing for a perfect shot at his chest. This, I knew, was a ploy to get me to attack so I didn’t. But before I could prevent him from escaping, he fell back, plummeting in to the water below, disappearing in a splash. Though I was once again frustrated with missing my greatest foe I still need to help the others. Though I had only seen Slade’s robots before, there was sure to be more, perhaps more of the shadow warriors.
Standing on the edge of the warehouse roof, I saw Dragona was destroying the dark warriors that I feared would appear. Though they were stronger, I appeared that his powers had increased as well. Words like “thunder” and “fire” were shouted with amazing effects. Infernos engulf the shadows and lighting appeared from a seemingly clear sky, striking still more to the ground. Before I could rejoin the others, it seemed like that they had everything under control.
“See that you kicked some ass,” I said to Dragona. Something was invaluable about this guy. I knew it.
“Robin?” I heard Starfire say behind me, “Was is it that troubles you?”
“Slade got away,” I muttered.
“Slade?”
“The guy behind the robots. He wanted me to be his apprentice. To make a long story short, I got out. But it looks like he’s after you. Something about you makes him hate you, maybe more then me.”
“But you are our friend, Dragona. We will help you,” Starfire said from behind me and I nodded.
“Now lets get the hell out of here.”
Back at the tower, I went to my room, feeling angered that Slade had escaped my grasp. If only I had been a few seconds faster. If only I broke his leg when I had the chance. If only. The words seemed to be the theme of the battle for me. As I wallowed in my misery, I heard a light knocking. Thinking it was one of the guys telling me that dinner was ready, I didn’t move. “Robin?” Starfire’s voice came through that sweet angelic voice. I jumped to my feet and rushed to the door. I had always considered her to be a close friend but she seemed to becoming more then that to me. I wasn’t 100% sure, but I believed that I was falling in love with her. What wasn’t to love? She had the body and the personality that people would kill for.
“Yeah Star,” I answered.
“It is time for the evening meal.”
“Oh,” I said opening my bedroom door.
“Is there something that troubles you?”
“I…I…” my tongue was tied as I tried to come up with the words.
“What is wrong?”
“Would you wanna go out for dinner? You and me?” I finally asked. My heart beat as I anticipated her answer.
“I would love to,” she exclaimed as she hugged me. That hug, it was from the heavens. Even if tomorrow was going to be a hell, now felt like time had stopped.
“So, uh, lets go.” I smiled, overjoyed that this Tameranian goddess would want to have a date with me.
“Shall we tell the others?”
“We’ll just tell them that you’re getting my mind off Slade. And you are so it’s not lying.”
“Very well.”
Heading downstairs, I felt like the king of the world. Nothing could bring down my spirits. In the main room, the others were relaxing. Raven was reading one of her books, Beast Boy and Cyborg were playing one of their videogames, and I thought I noticed Dragona staring out at the sea.
“Starfire and me are going out for dinner,” I said. I guess it didn’t come as much as a surprise to the others. Maybe the way I had acted around Starfire made it apparent that I love to be in her company. “Sure,” Raven finally said. Taking that as a sign, I led Starfire to my r-cycle in the garage. I knew where I wanted to go and there was no doubt in my mind that she was going to enjoy it.
As I raced down the street, her arms wrapped around my stomach from behind, her warmth nullified the chill of the wind. Right outside the restaurant, I stopped and helped Starfire off. “Lets go,” I said smile.
Inside, she must have felt like she stepped into a palace ‘cause her eyes stared at everything: the walls, the windows, and finally the table that we where being led to. As we ordered, the candlelight in her eyes danced. I was completely captivated by the beauty that looked back at me. I knew right there, I was in love with her and something told me that she felt the same way. “Robin?” she said staring at her menu, “why did you wish for only me to join you?” The moment of truth was at hand. I knew the reason and I fel that I may as well tell her. “The reason, Star,” I said taking a deep breath, “Is because I love you. More then any other girl I have ever seen, I love you.” The words must have been music to her ears. She smiled brightly and I thought that there were tears. Tears of joy? Yes. They had to be because of what she said next. “I love you too. I have dreamed of this and now you have made it true.”
The rest of the dinner didn’t matter. Hell, I didn’t care. We were too engrossed in each other to care but I think that she had mustard with her dinner. As the waiter handed me the bill, I took a glance at my watch. “11:32,” it read. I had just spent hours with Starfire and I only wanted more time with her. I could feel my heart race as we left. The ride back to the tower was better then the one over. I had only speculated about her feeling for me and now I knew she loved me.
When we reached the tower, I wasn’t surprised that it was locked down. Cyborg always locked up at 10:30. All this meant to me was that the others would be sleeping.
As I walked Starfire to her room, I felt myself not wanting the night to end. For the first time, Slade wasn’t the issue at all. At her door, I waited for her to tell me goodnight like every other night. But she didn’t. She paused as her door opened and seemed to look at me. Not like at dinner though. They seemed to beg me to come in with her. So I took the chance. “Would you want me to spend the night with you?” I asked. I braced for her to reject the offer and tell me no. But she didn’t. Instead, she grabbed tightly on my hand and stared into my mask. “I would love it if you would,” she answered in almost a whisper, “I want you to.” I couldn’t help but smile.
“Do you want to…?”
“Make love?” She finished my sentence.
“Yeah.”
“Yes.”
That one word was sweet music to my ears. Putting my hands on her face, I let myself pull her slowly into a kiss. It started small but grew into a passionate, lustful kiss. She even added some tongue, which surprised me at first but loved no the less. Slowly, we moved into her room and closed the door behind us. Stopping for just a moment, her eyes glazed with love. That was the stare that I wanted. “I love you” could be spoken but her eyes said it ten thousand times over.
Reaching around her, I rubbed her back with one hand as hugged her close. Her body pressed against mine, I could feel the passion between us. I was so involved in another kiss that I didn’t even notice that she had taken my cape off. Her hands were soft against my back. They felt angelic. Moving slowly so as not to break up what we had going, we fell onto her bed, my body pressing against hers. Carefully, I took her shirt off and got to admire her in her lace bra. She smiled back at me as I admired her body and took my shirt of me. Not to be out done I managed to unclasp her bra and tossed it to the side as I got my first look at her breasts. “So beautiful,” I thought. Desiring to make her feel as good as I possibly could, I let my hands caress her soft flesh. Her moans were music to me, letting me know I was making her feel great but I had no intention of stopping there.
While I continued what one hand was doing, the other glided over her skin and over her skirt. Smiling, I pulled it off to see her panties. If my heart wasn’t already pounding out of my chest, it was now. Slipping a hand under the fabric, I rubbed her cunt and made her near scream in pleasure. My guess was that she was close to an orgasm as her breathing became labored. “Robin,” she moaned as she climaxed. Slowly, lovingly, she removed my pants and boxers and nodded.
Moving up between her legs, I anticipated a rush of pleasure. And I wasn’t disappointed. It shot through me like lightning, from head to toe. I was consumed in pure bliss as I thrust deep inside her. That moment was heaven. Something about the moment must have awakened something inside her. Grabbing my shoulders, she flipped us over, her on top of me. After that, my mind was carried to the highest heavens. Starfire sped up, fast and hard. She was so sweet and innocent that I never envisioned this side of her but I loved it. I felt myself tense, knowing that I wasn’t going to be holding on much longer. “Starfire,” I moaned. She smiled down at me, nodding. That did it. I couldn’t hold back anymore and came inside her.
As she collapsed on me, I hugged her close. This night had become the best moment of my life.
“Robin?”
“Yeah Star?” I whispered as I felt myself sleeping into a peaceful sleep.
“Thank you.”
“Starfire. I couldn’t be more welcome.”
Ending the moment with a kiss, we held the other in our arms as we fell asleep.
