Fan Fiction ❯ Devil May Cry: Keys To The Past ❯ Flashback ( Chapter 1 )
Author's Note: Hey everyone, this is my first ever fanfic. Just to lay it all down with the copyright and stuff, "I don't own any of the characters from "Devil May Cry" and I do not own "Devil May Cry" itself. I'm just using the characters like any other write of a DMC fanfic would do.
But I do own some characters in my story like "Snake" and "Cheekz". With all that said and done, I just want to say that this story is in progress. What's different about my story is that it changes the reader's point of view. First, it'll be in first person and the next thing you know, it'll be in third person. Plus, it would really help me out if some of you readers gave reviews, so I can say to myself that all those hours spent working on this story hasn't been a waste. Now, without further ado, just sit back and have a good time, enjoy!
Chapter 1: Flashback
(A year before the Mallet Island incident)
"Devil May Cry, what can I do for you?" Dante answers the phone. "Virgil, you have to help me!", a deep voice cries out into the phone. This catches Dante's attention, "hey buddy, what the hell do you know about my brother Virgil. I swear, if this is a sick joke by one of you demon freaks, I'm gonna find you and kick your ass!" "Virgil…" the deep voice replies, "I know where he is and I can lead you to him. Wait for the call" "What the fuck are you talking….." before Dante can finish, the mysterious caller hangs up.
(Right after the events of Mallet Island)
I hate it, everything, I hate it all! I'll never find my brother. Yeah I'm still waiting for "that call" I was told to wait for. These days I wonder if it was just a prank, I hope not or God have mercy on that idiot. Well it's been a wild year and a couple of months ever since that weird phone call. I still haven't found my brother but I have gained other stuff from my latest mission. Mallet Island, I'll never forget it, I battled countless demons and defeated the all might Mundus. I also gained 3 "Devil Weapons" and found a new partner in a hot babe named Trish. Ha…it only seems like yesterday when Trish came in to the "Devil May Cry" store and tried to kick my ass. Those were funny times, hell; it's not even call "Devil May Cry" anymore. From now on, we're the "Devil Never Cry" agency. It was all Trish's idea. It sounds kinda cool, but it doesn't make a 100% sense since I'm bent on making the devil really cry for mercy for what he did to my brother and my mom.
It all started when Virgil and I were teenagers. Mom didn't have to tell us, we knew we were different from the rest of the world. We both had natural white hair and had an odd urge to kill people. Yeah, it's disturbing, but we could at least hide that urge from the public. What we couldn't hide was our superhuman attributes. For example, I jumped 10 meters into the air when I was 13. And Virgil, dam he was fast, he probably beat all records set for any race in the Olympics when he was 11. It was like these attributes were going on automatic; we couldn't help but do all these insane acts. Like I said, it wasn't new to us, we knew we could kick anyone's ass.
Everything was all good, our mom was the greatest, she always knew the right things to say to us when we felt left out or isolated because of our powers. On our birthdays, mom would give me and Virgil half of the pendant she always wore. The moment Virgil and I wore the halves, we felt human for the very first time. All our problems would disappear and it felt like we would never age or die.
Then one day, everything changed. I was coming home late from school and found out that my mom and brother were all gone. At first I thought they had just gone out for awhile, then I saw my mom and my brother's bedrooms. The walls were all covered with splattered bloodstains. I stood there crying for what seemed like hours. I had knew who had done this to me, to my family, and on that day I promised to get revenge on anyone or anything from the underworld.
When I was older, I started up my own store, "Devil May Cry". People would hire me to kill demons described as humans. A few months passed and I got tired of taking out demon after demon. I felt like I was going nowhere, I was just moving away from my goal of getting revenge, I had lost my passion. Then on that one faithful night, I got that phone call; someone knew where my brother was. All I had to do was wait for some stupid phone call. I don't know from who or when I'll receive that call but for some reason, I had that instinct back in me.
Though, plans soon changed and I met a woman named Trish who took me on my biggest adventure yet. The weirdest part of that thrill ride was that Trish and a devil warrior I fought looked like my mom and my brother. But in the end, I found out that they were only copies that were made to deceive me.
So here I am, once again, sitting at my desk at "Devil Never Cry" I patiently wait for any new assignments to ring in. It gets boring after awhile, but all of a sudden, the phone rings. "Trish, get it for me!" I yell lazily. I watch her big ass sway as she walks to the phone.
"Devil Never Cry, what can I do for you?" Trish asks nicely, "yes…uh huh, ok, got it! We'll be right there!" "Who was it sexy?" I ask with a grin. Trish looks at me with disgust, "Dante…." Trish says, " this is not time to get horny, we have to get to business." "Ok…ok" I laugh, "well, give me the info!" As Trish tried to get things organized, she tells me what she knows, "Ok, the client's name is Kevin Carter, he says that he knows a friend who just revealed that he was a demon. He wants us to hunt the asshole down. He also said that the demon would go by the name of Adrian and would be located on the corner of 23rd street inside the "No Holds Bar" bar." I snicker, heh, I hate these kinds of missions, it gets boring, no action, demons have no balls these days, but then again, I am pretty scary. But Trish, she's a different story, she enjoys our devil huntings and is always prepared. As I get my ass of the chair, Trish asks, "what should we bring, Ebony and Ivory, or Alastor, or what about Sparda?" "None of em" I reply with a smile, "let's do it by hand."
Will Be Continued
Looks like Dante's on another of his "boring" missions. Well I hope you're not like Dante because in the next chapter you'll find out that this mission is nothing but boring. Surprises and action coming up soon in the next chapter!
