Chapter 4
“For What, Love?”

Crow manages to cry the words, “I'm Sorry,” before he passes out and Raven goes to bed.
Raven gets into bed because he's asleep and asks to herself, “What for, Love?”
She then closes her eyes, and drifts to sleep.
Her dream is very unusual. It is nothing she's seen before. She sees Crow crying. He is talking to himself. She goes in to comfort him, but she goes right through him.
She looks to the center of the room and sees a Neuse. He takes a knife, and walks up to it.
NO! She tries to scream, but nothing comes out. She starts to cry as she hears him scream her name, and hears a slice. He walks to the Neuse, she closes her eyes and then she screams.
She can hear the scream. He can hear the scream. He turns, and she sees his eyes, bagged, and bloodshot.
She wakes up, and Crow's eyes are open.
“You screamed. Is there something wrong?” he says, looking perfectly okay.
“It's just…” she gulps, and gets out of bed running to the bathroom.
She crouches over the bowl, and wipes her mouth off. She flushes, and stands up, sick to her stomach. She gets a head rush, and walks back to her bed, and when she gets back everyone is looking at her.
“I got the others,” Crow says sounding concerned, “Are you sure you're alright?”
“I'm fine,” she says, “it was just a dream.”
“What happened in it?” Beast Boy asks, as she gets back under the covers.
She thinks hard about what she saw in the dream, what made her so sick to throw up, but she can't remember. “I… forgot…”
“Very well, guys, I think she needs her privacy,” Crow says, shoving the others out.
“Then how come you get to stay?” Cyborg asks.
“I have experience with Raven's dreams, and I can understand her a lot better than you can. We grew up together.”
“Good enough reason for me,” Beast Boy yawns, as the other Titans go to bed.
“Night,” crow says, as he goes back to Raven, and sits in a levitating “butterfly stretch” beside her.
“Thank you.”
“Don't thank me. I only want you to feel happy. That is my primary concern.” He shifts forward eagerly, “So tell me, what was so grotesque that you threw up from even imagining it?”
“I don't remember.”
“Hmm, that never happens to me. I dream, but it never goes away. I always dream the same thing.”
“What?”
“Pardon?” he asks.
“What do you always dream?” she asks.
“It's of you. The last day we were together. I cannot forget it.”
“That's very nice of you.”
“And I'm sorry about what happened,” he says seriously.
“It's alright,” she says. She doesn't know why he's apologizing. `It must be because he found out what happened. How my stepfather abused me for being weaker than Crow. He married my mother because my future read that I would be able to use the Azarath Metreon Zenthi, but when I was born, they saw the apocalypse. Crow had the ability I should have had, and Father always hurt me because of it,' She thought.
“You know, I had some crazy adventures when you were gone,” he said.
“Ooh! Please tell me!” she said eagerly.
“All right, I'll start with the one that happened first,” he started, “I call this one, `The Dragons and the Crow.' So it all started when Azarath was attacked by an army of Dra-,“ the alarm goes off.
“Trouble!” she says as she pulls him out of the room.
“Okay,” he says as they enter the main room.
“Some villainous people were spotted in an abandoned warehouse,” Robin says.
“No biggie. Slade is dead… again. No one has ever been as bad as him.” Cyborg says.
“We still better check it out,” Robin says walking down to the T cycle.
“We'll take the car,” Cyborg says and Beast boy hops in.
“I will follow Robin,” Starfire says.
“We'll fly on our own,” Raven says, as she grabs Crow, and they fly off to the warehouse.
“Okay, so we need to kill these guys?” Crow asks her as they fly off.
“No, we have to put them in jail. Just knock them out,” she says.
“Okay.”

“Robin you are going too fast!” Starfire yells as Robin gets off the bike, and goes in.
He went too fast to realize that Starfire fell, and is crying, “NO! ROBIN! Please do not kill him!” with a large smile on her face.
Robin walks into the warehouse and then a light shines on him.
“Ah, if it isn't little old Dickey! Wee!” a familiar insane voice says.
“No, Batman took you down… way down…” Robin says in fear.
“Remember me?” another voice says as scarecrow falls on the ground.
“No! This can't be happening!” Robin screams as the scarecrow moves, and a blob oozes by the scarecrow's feet and takes shape.
“Hello, boy wonder. And in a flash, Dickey Grayson, and Bruce Wayne suit up, and become BATMAN AND ROBIN!” the first man says jumping down, holding a bloodstained cape and mask.
“Joker… Scarecrow… Clayface… how did you…” he says in fear.
“Joker here killed the guards, while Clayface turned into weapons, and I gassed the guards. I love putting people into fear.” Scarecrow says.
“It was just then a matter of killing Batman!” Joker says.
“But… You! BATMAN KILLED YOU!” he says pointing to the Joker.
“That never stopped you friend Slade!”
“NO!” He screams, “My friends will get you!”
“Gassed.”
“Robin, please help me!” a girl says and Robin starts to cry. Clayface split into the girl that Robin had a crush on a long time ago.
“Come on Robin, get her,” Clayface laughs. He makes the girl attack him, as a blade sticks out of her hand, she cuts Robin across the chest, and he falls in blood, sweat and tears. The Joker winds up a jack in the box, as Scarecrow gasses him. Robin curls up, and then the joker uses gas to make him pass out happily. He smiles in pain.

“What is going on?” Raven asks Crow as they assist the titans, who are all screaming with smiles on their faces. They carry them to the warehouse and see some people hitting Robin. The same thing has happened to him too!
“Lets go,” Crow says as he bursts in and hits Scarecrow across the face.
“Filthy son of a-“ Joker stops and he and Crow look eye to eye.
“You!” they say to each other, and Raven knocks Joker over.
“You insolent Brat! I thought I put you out!” He screams at Crow, and Scarecrow gasses him.
All of a sudden he was in darkness. He fell over, and looked around. Raven was gone.
“RAVEN! WHERE ARE YOU!” he cries. No response. He falls over, and starts crying, “Not again!”
“I'm right here,” she says but he can't hear her.
“Raven,” he whispers, “I love you, please don't leave me…”
Raven looks shocked.
“Well, it looks like his only fear is losing you,” Joker says in a comical way, into Raven's ear.
Raven turns around and blasts him. His face deteriorates, and regenerates.
“I can't die! Your weak magic can't pierce my hear-” he says, but as he says this, Robin stabs him through the heart and he falls over bleeding. Robin then passes out again.
“RUN!” Scarecrow screams as he runs to the door, but Raven turns her arm into a sword made of her spell, and stabs him through the chest.
“Oh shit,” Clayface says as she knocks him so far, he lands in the water and dissolves.
Everyone starts to get better and Raven wakes them all up. Crow is still in tears, as she goes behind him and taps him on the back.
“I love you too,” she says she leans in and kisses him.
“Now, what do we do?” Beast Boy asks looking at the 2 bodies.
“Well, technically it was self defense, so Raven is okay,” Cyborg says.
“That is good,” Starfire says, “Now may get the nuts of dough?”
“WOO! ICE CREAM IT IS!” Robin says, as they leave, and he stops, “You love birds coming?”
“We'll catch up,” Crow says, he and Raven stand up, and move closer together until their lips touch, and his tongue enters her mouth.
