Fan Fiction ❯ Fallen Angel ❯ Shadow Disaster... ( Chapter 5 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Steve was practically beating her head in over deciding whether or not she wanted me to tell her about this story. "Yes, tell me! Wait, I want to read it! But I must know now! But I want to read it to find out! I don't want to know but I do!" It was quite annoying. I could almost see the little monkey with the cymbals going overtime in her skull from over the phone. It was pitiful; I swear she almost died twice in one phone conversation.

So, here's the next chapter of Fallen Angel.

Last time:

Mitsukai whooped ass, but paid a price. He's currently unconscious in his living room, suffering from severe blood loss. He's got a whole in his hand and one in his left shoulder, disabling his arm for the moment at least.

`This is the second time I've woken up in that man's house,' Amy thought rudely as she glared at the sofa on which Mitsukai still lay, unconscious. She rubbed the sore spot on her forehead from laying it down on the counter in the kitchen all night long. Her thoughts softened as she rounded the couch to watch each labored breath that he took. `I wonder if he's okay. He hasn't woken up yet, and he doesn't look so good.'

She yawned and looked at the clock. `2:30 am?! Ah, man, I'm going back sleep.' She groggily stood up again, making her way back to the room she slept in the first night there, falling asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

`Holy shit,' Mitsukai thought as he stared at a literal mountain of demonic creatures.

"What are they doing here," he thought aloud.

At his small outburst, several of the creatures rounded on him, alerting the others to his presence.

`This isn't right,' he thought as he slowly backed away from them. `This isn't the Mind. Only one or two can exist there at one time,' he started to run, taking in his surroundings as he did so.

"Then where the hell am I," he yelled into the surrounding darkness.

~* 7:36 am *~

Amy bolted upright when she heard something come from the living room. She got up and slowly made her way toward the noise.

She gasped when she saw Mitsukai on the couch. He was thrashing slightly, braking into a cold sweat and groaning as if in pain. She ran into the kitchen and wet a washcloth, placing it on his forehead when she got back to him. Deciding to check on his wounds, she unwrapped his hand and shoulder, finding them to be blackened. Black substance seemed to have leaked into his veins around both wholes in his flesh. When she touched them with another clean cloth, he jerked away, his face contorted in pain.

As he continued to run, the monsters caught up, occasionally biting at his wounds like hungry animals. He looked back to see how close they were, running into something while he wasn't watching where he was going.

Mitsukai was thrown back toward the monsters, skidding in the dirt. He jumped to his feet, only to see a mirror image of himself copy his movements.

`Is this some sort of trickery,' they thought.

~* 8:03 am *~

"Ooooh," Amy groaned as she tried to wipe Mitsukai's wounds again.

Like every other time she did this, he jerked away, moaning in pain.

"Who are you," Mitsukai yelled at his copy.

The copy looked at him angrily. "Why should I tell you, bastard," it yelled at him. "You're the one prancing around like you're me!"

They each flared in a sudden dark cloud, emerging moments later as their inhuman selves. Seeing that that technique didn't work, they began a sort of glaring/growling contest before a child ran screaming in between them, closely followed by yet another impersonation of Mitsukai and another horde of demons.

When the child and copy of Mitsukai finally noticed the other two Mitsukai, the pack of demons suddenly turned to ash, flying on the winds.

"Oh, no," the child yelled as he sat on the ground, staring, "there are more!"

The copy that had chased the boy rolled his eyes and looked to the other two. Upon seeing their forms, he disappeared in a burst of long, black feathers, only to emerge in his humanoid form. They each glared at each other.

"Listen," the new copy said, "this might not be a trick."

The child looked up at him. "What d'ya mean," he asked as he stood.

"We may be in the Mind after all," he replied.

"Wait," the first Mitsukai took a step toward him, "you mean to say that we are in a monster's mind? Then what are all these demons doing here?!"

The second nodded in agreement, "yeah, smart-ass!"

"We are inside the mind of a monster," the new copy said, "our own. We are the monster here. Those," he motioned toward the mountain of demons in the distance, "must be our inner demons."

"Okay, then, Mitsukai," the first one said, earning a `what' from the other three. "Wait a second here. This is too confusing. We'll have to think of different things to call each other."

The boy nodded in agreement, changing to his humanoid form as he walked up to the second Mitsukai. "You must be our anger," he said.

"So, what if I am, brat," he responded with a sneer, earning a nod from the other three.

"We'll call you anger, then," the third copy said. He walked up to the child, "you must be our happiness, right?"

The child shrugged, "my friends just call me Feather."

The other three nodded. "We remember, Little Feather," the third copy said, ruffling Feather's hair.

"So," Anger said, "what're we gonna call you?"

The third copy shrugged.

"You seem to be our rational side," the first said.

"Can we call him Rash," someone yelled as he came over a hill behind them and began laughing hysterically.

"Oh, yeah, sure," the first said, rolling his eyes.

"Really," the new one asked anxiously.

"No," they all screamed at him.

"Just call me Rat if you must," he said.

"Fine," he replied, laughing at them.

Rat looked at him. "You must be our humor, right?"

Humor began to laugh harder, and the rest of them nodded in agreement. "That only leaves you," Feather said, smiling up at the first copy.

"You seem to be our sarcasm," Rat said.

"Really," he asked, "I never would've thought of that one."

"Yeah," Anger said, rolling his eyes, "we'll just call you Sar. And would you stop laughing?!"

Humor only laughed harder.

They heard a scream in the distance and took off towards it.

~* 10:55 am *~

"Ooooh," Amy said for the umpteenth time in the last five minutes. "What do I do now?"

Mitsukai continued to thrash, causing his wounds to reopen and begin to bleed once more. Amy dashed about the house, looking for bandages, but stopped when she passed his bed, seeing a sword above it begin to glow with a black aura.

All the copies arrived at the mountain of demons to find one last copy, cowering in fear as a monster moved to attack him.

"That must be fear," Feather stated as he looked at the teenage version of Mitsukai, earning a nod from the others.

Rat dashed forward, knocking Fear out of the way before he was cleaved in two. Feather, Sar, Rat, Anger, and Humor began fighting back the wave of demons as Fear watched, unaware of the second wave coming right for them.

~*~

"I think that's all of them," Rat said, dusting off his hands.

Feather beamed up at him while the others nodded and Anger spat on one of the dead demons.

Fear began to stammer, catching their attention.

"What is it, Fear," Anger yelled, grabbing the front of the copy's shirt and shaking him.

Fear pointed behind him, "there are more."

"No shit," Sar said, rolling his eyes once more before all of them except Fear leapt toward the oncoming wave of demons.

~*~

Rat was hit back to the ground by yet another demon, closely followed by the others. "We need your help, Fear!"

Fear cowered a bit more, but stood when Feather screamed in agony as one of the demons crushed his left wing.

"F-fine," he said, helping them up, "I-I'll t-try to help y-you."

As they fought, a black aura engulfed all of them, draining to the ground and forming into the shape of a person, or a woman to be more precise.

She lifted her arms, letting a dark power escape her and erupt, killing the demons and forcing all the Mitsukai back down to the ground as the sky turned a frost white, blinding them all.

~* 11:14 am *~

Mitsukai sat up abruptly, knocking the slumbering Amy to the ground. She shook her head in confusion before she looked up, seeing a panting Mitsukai. She quickly got up, throwing her arms around his neck.

"I thought you were going to die," she cried into his neck.

At his pained grunt she let go, finding the front of her blouse to be covered in his blood. He stared at her, his eyes widened as if still in pain. She stood, watching as he used his wings to help himself stand then stagger down the hallway.

Halfway down the corridor he stopped, Amy stopping just behind him, standing on her tip-toes to see around him. She gave an almost inaudible gasp at the woman that stood in front of them.

"Kage," she heard Mitsukai whisper in awe.

The woman -- now known as Kage - knelt in front of Mitsukai, her head toward the ground.

"Yes, Master Hotogoroshi," she asked in a silky voice that sent shivers down Amy's spine.

Mitsukai shook himself out of his stupor, grabbing Kage's arm and forcing her to stand. "What are you doing out of the sword," he demanded.

She shrugged of his hand and glared at him with glowing, dark purple - almost black - eyes. "I was summoned to you. Do you not remember it," she asked, tilting her head to the side in question.

Mitsukai shook his head, flashing a dark aura before coming back into sight as his human form. He led them into the kitchen. Kage and Amy sat at the island bar, watching Mitsukai pace.

"When were you summoned," he burst out suddenly, stopping in his pacing to glare at her.

She looked away from an obviously very interesting pot and glanced up at him. "During your poison-influenced fever, your entire mind called upon me. Do you still not remember, my lord," she questioned again.

Images of the fight with his inner demons flashed through his mind. He suddenly grabbed his head and fell to his knees, screaming in agony. Amy ran to his side while Kage watched on, never wavering in her calm demeanor.

Mitsukai suddenly stood up. "Release my mind, Kage," he yelled at her. When she did not comply, he tried again, "rid your presence from my mind, Kage Tensai; that's an order."

She blinked, the simple act releasing him. Afterwards, he retreated to his room. A crash was heard just before the slamming of a door.

Amy looked toward Kage. "Who are you," she asked suspiciously.

Kage grinned a sinister grin, saying, "who is not the question. What am I would be the proper thing to ask," she stood up, slowly disintegrating before Amy's eyes. "That, you might want to ask Master Hotogoroshi." With that, she disappeared all together, leaving Amy to ponder her words.

`What is she then,' she thought as she retreated to her own room. Before entering through the doorway, Amy caught a glimpse of something silver at the end of the hallway. She walked over to it, finding it to be the sword that had previously hung over Mitsukai's bed in his room.

As she drifted into slumber, she reminded herself to ask Mitsukai about this Kage Tensai in the morning.

Okay, this was a confusing and long chapter, but I promise that all will be explained later! Oh, and I'm getting very lonely. Do you guys hate me or something? Just email me! Taiyoukai_Ayumu@hotmail.com okay? Oh, one more thing: before anyone can point this out to me, Kage Tensai DOES mean Shadow Disaster. You'll find out why she is named that later. But it's not like you can't guess right now, right?

Happy Haunting,
