Fan Fiction ❯ Fallen Angel ❯ Loss of Control... ( Chapter 11 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

I'm going to go ahead and type up this chapter while I help out Tokui with what to make Sesshoumaru say in her fanfic, okay? Okay.

Like I said, I'm not recapping the last chapter for you anymore.

"Nn," Amy groaned as she was half-way awakened from her peaceful slumber.

The movement stopped for a moment, but started again a moment later.

"Dove," she heard Mitsukai whisper from somewhere in front of her, "let me up."

"Nn," she grunted at him sleepily, being loosely translated as `no way in hell am I moving'.

He let out an exasperate sigh. "Please, let me get up," he begged softly.

She rubbed her face against his chest, thinking it was just an oddly warm, firm pillow, but didn't make a sound.

Mitsukai sighed again, accepting the fact that she wasn't going to let him up any time soon.

"What time is it," she asked groggily a moment later.

There was a pause before he answered, "it's just past nine o'clock. I would have liked to have been up at least two hours ago."

"Mm," she moaned as she listened to the deep rumbling in his chest when he spoke.

"Are you listening to me," he asked.

"No," she answered. "Now let me sleep."

He huffed irritably, but didn't say anything else.

She scowled slightly, hugging his chest again. "I didn't say stop talking…"

"What? You want me to let you sleep, but you want me to keep talking. That makes almost no sense. You know that, right?"

"Yeah," she murmured, quickly drifting off to sleep.

"Women can be a nuisance sometimes," he muttered to himself, earning a half-hearted swat on the nose before she finally fell asleep.

Amy grumbled as she roused from her sleep once more. She looked up over her head to find Mitsukai still sleeping. `Good.' She rolled off of him, looking around for a clock to tell her what time it was.

"Almost 10:30," he muttered from beside her.

She froze, looking up at him as he looked back down at her. He propped himself up on his elbow to look at her easier as she slowly sat up.

"I wasted away most of my morning because you wouldn't get off of me, and you think you can just sneak out of here," he told her more than asked.

She laughed nervously, smiling at him to see if he would just let her leave. `No such luck.'

Mitsukai stood up and just as she made a break for the door, he grabbed onto her waist and picked her up. He let her head sag behind him as he carried her under his arm and walked out of his room and down the hallway.

"Where are you taking me," she yelled as she struggled in his firm grip, trying to at least see where they were going.

Mitsukai didn't answer, but kept walking. `Jerk,' she thought rudely.

She heard another door open and realized where they were.

"What are we doing in the dojo?"

Before answering, he dropped her roughly on the ground and went to grab two long spears. "You made me waste most of my morning," he said, turning around and tossing one of the spears to her. "The least you could do is spar with me."

Amy huffed, but complied, standing up. "Can I at least get dressed first?"

She was currently in a man's shirt that was at least five sizes too big for her and she wasn't wearing any pants.

"No," he replied shortly, lunging at her.

She parried the attack with her own spear, swinging it at him when his guard was down. He quickly rolled to the side and stopped moving. They stared at each other for a moment, and then the real fun began. (A/N: I hate sparring scenes, so just make it up in your own head, okay?)

"Ow," Amy complained as they both walked into the kitchen, "did you have to hit me so hard?"

Mitsukai let out a small snort of indignation, but replied, "of course, I did. How else will you learn how important it is to learn these techniques? Besides, you gave me several bruises, which - I might add - is very impressive for a human."

Amy huffed and glared at him as she sat at the island bar. `Jerk,' she thought for the umpteenth time that morning.

"It's not nearly as bad for you," she told him. "Your bruises will be healed in a matter of hours. Mine will be healed in a matter of weeks, if I'm even that lucky!"

He shrugged and began scrounging through the fridge for something edible.

"Okay, now that I've given you some time," she began, "can I ask you a few questions?"

Mitsukai pulled his head out of the fridge and sat down across from Amy, looking at her intently. "Sure," he said softly.

"Okay, explain to me some of the things in that scroll that I read."

"Eh," he choked out, giving her a lopsided smirk. "What do you want to know about it?"

"What does it all mean? The scroll said something about `do not tell her of these plans as of yet.' What's that supposed to mean?"

"It's exactly like it says, I am not to tell you of the plans for you as of yet," he told her. "I'll tell you one thing, though." He leaned closer to her. "I'm not sure how all this works."

"What?!"

He straightened up in his chair, willing the ringing in his ears to go away. "Exactly as I said, I'm not exactly sure how you're supposed to `save the world' from a terrible onslaught of demons, but I was told that you would be able to if given time."

"Fine," she grumbled. "Then you have to protect me with your life for a reason that you don't know about?"

He nodded abruptly.

"So you have no idea how I'm supposed to stop all demons from destroying the world?"

"Now that I know," he said, giving her a wane smile. "But unfortunately I can't tell you. You should find out soon, though."

"Yeah, right," she muttered to herself, rolling her eyes. "Okay, here's another question for you."

"Shoot…"

"I've been wondering; were you the `mysterious warrior' that defeated that Balthazar demon?"

"Eh, yeah…"

"So, did you let him live out of mercy or did he just get away?"

"He, uh, got away…"

"That careless, eh?"

"I'd like to see you take him on! I was the only one that even stood a chance against him!"

"You're the strongest demon I've ever heard of," she yelled, getting to her feet and bracing herself against the bar. "And you let him get past you?!"

"Amy," he yelled, also getting to his feet, standing stock still. "Stop this!"

"No! You probably could've finished him off!"

Mitsukai began to growl and change to his demon form. "Please, Amy," he barely growled through clenched teeth, falling forward onto the counter, bracing himself up with his hands, "stop this foolishness…"

"You were going to protect Japan from his tyranny, but you let him slip through your fingers!"

Before she could move an inch, Mitsukai was on her. He jumped over the counter, knocking her to the floor and landing on top of her. She looked up at him, slightly dizzy from hitting her head. His eyes glowed brilliant silver as they were flooded by the black abyss again. He swirled in and out of focus as she struggled to hear what he was saying, his claws digging new marks into her neck and shoulder.

"I would advise you to restrain from yelling, Amy," he hissed in her face. "It is not a wise thing to anger a demon as powerful as myself."

She tried to say something, but couldn't get the words to come out. All he heard was a slight whimper, but that was enough to snap him out of his blood-lust. He quickly stood up, staring down at her in wide-eyed horror. Before she could sit up and tell him that she was alright, he was gone, only leaving behind a few feathers.

`Where did he go,' she thought foggily as she struggled to stay conscious, but it was a losing battle and she soon fell into a deep, dreamless slumber.

Right, I'm being kicked off of the computer, so I had to cut this chapter off right here. If you have anymore questions that Amy needs to ask Mitsukai, just ask me over email since reviews hate me. I'd be happy to try and get him to answer your questions in the next chapter, okay? Okay.

Happy Haunting,

Chisai Oni
