FALLING LEAVES

The falling leaves
Drift by my window
The falling leaves of red and gold
I see your lips
And dream of the summer kisses
We used to share
Dream of the sun burnt hands
I used to hold
Since you went away
The days grew long
And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song
But I miss you most of all, my darling
Miss you through night and day
Miss you through winter, summer, and even spring
Though when autumn leaves start to fall
Start to fall to the earth
The earth I stood upon
When I watched you leave the land
And leave with my heart as well
Now I see your lips
And the falling leaves
That twirls and dances
Around us in the wind
The falling leaves of my lips
Against yours.
