“Hey I am still awake you know.” I said groggily and tried to tie one of the bandages but he set my hand back to my side and finished what he had started. I laid my head to the side and looked out of the small window on the door, where to my surprise people were watching me, but I turned away. I wanted nothing more to do with school, I wanted to just train and become stronger so I could fulfill my destiny and get on with life.

I dropped out of school my junior year, one because I felt there was no need for me to continue if all I was going to have was trouble. When my senior year rolled around I spent it training through running more than a normal human should, practice fighting, and controlling my powers. Caid would go to school every once and awhile but would stay and take care of the house never knowing when I could be back or when I'd get hurt from picking fights or training too hard in the training hall.
One of the nights he was at home reading a book of mine he had found as I walked out telling him I was going to go for another run and took off. During the run it began to rain hard, I was soaked and couldn't see the road to run on. I stopped, the rain pounding like little pebbles. I pushed forward fighting the rain until I slipped and hit the concrete, scratching myself up. The rain began to turn really cold and froze unto hail; I just laid there letting the hail pound down on my cold body. A hand laid on my arm and I felt the pressure of someone laying me against something warm and dry. Squinting through the hail I saw a silver braid and gold eyes watching.

“Liana, you can't win if you're sick. You will be able to free them but only with your heart, not your body…” he hugged me but this was different it was tight and caring to the point I almost felt love but thought nothing of it.

“I know the last thing you want to do is love, but without it you can't win.” He said brushing the wet hair out of my face and dusting off the hail stones.

“But I…” I didn't finish my words, for he had kissed me. His lips were so warm to my cold ones. I pulled away slowly and fell into a comforting sleep in his arms, waiting for the morning. It did come and I woke up to find myself next to Caid, I felt weird because he never let me stay without me coming in first. I traced the muscles on his back and went to my room ready for what I thought I knew was going to happen. He came behind me and wrapped his arms my waist but I continued with what I had done and kissed me on the neck. I turned to him and placed a soft kiss on his lips.

“I know what I have to do.” I started for the door but he got there first and blocked the entrance.

“I don't think you are ready Liana, come and spend the day with me and learn what I want you to know.” I glared back at him as I strapped on my boots, but he still stood firm.

“Get out of my way!” I yelled trying to push him out of the way. He still didn't move. I tried throwing a punch but he caught it, I tried a high kicked but he hit my leg and knocked me to the ground. Red hair flailed around my angry face as I felt rage build as the thoughts of getting through made me move on, I had my sais and they were directed towards him. He formed a Bo stick and caught my advance and the next one as well.

“Stop fighting with anger! Stop fighting for yourself!” He was mad in a way I had never seen him

“I am not fighting for myself! For my friends!” I tried to get him again but he hit me directly in the stomach and I fell again.

“Just…” I stuttered pounding my fist into the floor, shaking from rage as hot tears stung my eyes.

“You fight to prove something, but as the guardian you fight for them!” He pointed outside at the busy city moving about not knowing what was happening,

“You don't know who you are fighting for do you?!” He pulled me up by the arm and gazed in my eyes stern and penetrating.

“I'm weak…” I couldn't take it, I couldn't look at him anymore. He grabbed my face and made me look at him. “No you are strong. No, I ask will you come with me?” I nodded quickly and got up to change, my heart weary with hurt again. I had no idea where he was going to take me but I followed as we came upon a mountain covered in fog with snow running down the sides.

“We are about to enter what humans call heaven, I want you to find that earth isn't the only thing you fight for.” Inside the place where he led me, there was no color, only white and gray, covered so completely by fog. This place was too desolate to be what everyone was taught to a place of happiness, inside I laughed to myself thinking of the stupidity of the people. I squeezed his hand and he tightened his grip as we moved through the clouds to a giant white palace that loomed over We started in and I watched as groups of adults and children with dark skin like a fallen were led in by chains and dragged two different ways. Caid broke away from me and followed the children so I took that as my cue to follow the older fallens.
They were put in a jail cell and some were chained to a wall. I stayed down out of sight as two angels, high ranking ones from the clothes and jewelry. Both had white hair like the girl on earth and it made me angry as I watched the two play around with these fallens, even if one did attack me. One on the left look to be younger than me and when the man tore her shirt open, I screamed in my head as he touched her in ways that made me sick and want to puke. He fondled her body and kissed her too hard as she cried tears as the man kept making his advances. He went to undo his clothes and that is when I snapped, watching this fifteen year old get raped again and again, I cried to myself the tears and screams along with her that I wanted to throw up and see this man dead. This angel who felt it was ok to torment such a person, who probably had never done anything to them. The men left the two girls on the wall chained and blood dripped from the younger one, I knew she must have never had it happened, and came out of my hiding place.

“Don't cry I am here to help you.” I used one of the shreds of her clothes to wipe away the blood and another to dry her tears. She looked at me sad and relieved to know I wasn't there to hurt her. I pulled out a bobby pin and began to pick the lock, and she fell to the floor in my arms. I held her close and could almost feel her ribs, starved I guessed. She hugged me back and I wrapped my jacket around her shoulders, I turned to the other girl and did the same and wrapped a robe I had found in the place.
They sat together against the wall as I began to pick the lock on the other doors, watching the fallens stare as I got each door open. They followed me out and through the halls to the entrance where I hoped to find Caid with the children. He wasn't there so I turned to the fifteen year old and held out a key, “Here is a key to my house most of the people here can take care of themselves once they get loose but you need a place. You'll be able to find my address and for the rest of you all if you need any help or if I need help you will know.” The girl nodded firmly and started through the portal I had opened for them.

I flew back in the palace, frantically searching the hall for my Caid, but not a piece of evidence was found anywhere. I felt a large energy source come from one of the room and prayed it wasn't where Caid was, as I opened the door children's screams echoed through the room. Inside was a sight beyond anything I had hoped to find, blood smeared over the walls and an inferno burning from the floors, it was deathly and the smell of the burning flesh made me gasp for air. I put my hand over my nose and mouth and ventured into this torturing room, children were in metal cages and some lay on the floor blood running from cut marks in their tiny bodies. I search frantically for Caid but all my mind knew was the image before me and it was sickening still. A door on the other end opened and one of the men I had seen down in the dungeon walked holding a baby, unlike the others it was a demon and he had a knife and a woman behind him screaming to give it back.

“Please let me have my child! Don't hurt him please!” The woman was demon as well and she looked tired as her hands grabbed the bottom of his robes and pulled as hard as the tired body she had would allow her too. He kicked her off and held the baby by its foot, the woman crying and screaming at the man to let it go, he turned angry and annoyed with the woman and threw the knife at her, hitting its mark right in her heart and she fell over crying trying to reach her baby. That's when a shadow leapt out and grabbed the child from the man and rushed to my side, handing me the screaming infant. I saw Caid with a grim look and his Bo stick in hand ready to defend the infant and the rest of the children.

“Liana go free the others, I can handle this bastard!” He barred his teeth and a set of fangs grew and claws covered his hand. I saw a set of ears and a tail grow as he darted towards the man at a fast speed ready for a kill. I rushed to my work and picked the locks on the cages, children between 10 and 2 rushed into my arms, some crying, others thanking me and those who were completely silent. I carried out some of the younger ones and watched the fight fade away to nothing as we ran down the long halls to the same portal where some of the fallens hah waited, those recognizing their children and collecting them. After most departed I was left with a demon baby, a different 15 year old fallen and a mix child locked onto me. I set the baby in the girl's arms and told her I would be back, I retraced my steps to the room and found Caid bloody and on the floor breathing hard. I flew in just as the Dao sword came down to hit him in the chest.
“Liana no!” Caid went to push me out of the way but I had already decided to take the blow for him and knew I was fighting with my whole entire heart, this time. My tears of joy flowed as a bright glow emanated from my body and a power took me in its grasp. I saw the angel again but his sword was shattered and I looked down at my body, my clothes were different some way, A white cloth wrapped around my torso and up around my arms, I had a skirt the same color short in the front and long in the back, gloves that started in a triangular form from between my fingers all the way past my elbow and the same with my feet except past my knees. On my head I had a headdress made of gold with chains that loosely laid on my head.

“What oh geez!” I turned around to look at what had just happened when I heard a growl come from the man and a sword swing past me. Gotta pay attention I told myself firmly as I called on my sais and started at him with a look not of anger but determination and feeling of love for the people I had just let go back down the hall. My speed increased and the light engulfed him and me, but when it faded he was dead on the floor and I had changed back to my normal self, and I was so tired that I fainted into Caid's open arms.

“Wake up Miss Liana.” A young voice asked pressing softly on a damp cloth over my forehead and eyes slowly they flickered open and I saw the 15 year old from the dungeon. She smiled as I weakly opened my eyes and tried to form a smile of some sort. She kept on dabbing my forehead but she had a smile so grand just because I woke up. I sat up slowly and looked around the room, the same room in the same house, but then it hit me `we have more people and there isn't enough room, but I don't want to go back to that house…but I must for everyone else!' I flung the sheets off and ran down the halls to find Caid, resting on the couch in the living room watching the news, and the baby resting in his arms.
