Master

The figure lifted a hand from the arm of the throne to stop his speech. I know what you are about to say. I have felt that aura myself.

So you know.

The figure nodded. Yes, I do. The Chosen One has been born. The One who shall either save or destroy the world. The Prophecy has come true. Now have you found him yet?

No, Master. We only know that he was born. We do not know the origin of his aura or who he is. We have finally put together our army and are ready to go anywhere in the world to find him.

Very good. Proceed with the search.

17 years later

The school bell rung , signaling the beginning of summer. Rebecca tossed her long brown hair over her shoulder as she walked down the front steps, and turned to look back at the school. It had been a long year, and she was MORE than thankful to get it over with. She looked around. All around her, people were screaming in excitement. Couples going to different camps gave each other one final hug before parting. Rambunctious students were throwing around toilet paper like it was confetti. But the one thing she noticed was the young man who didnt seem as excited as the others, walking by himself. He had been around for only three months, so he was still fairly new, but had barely said a word to anyone the whole time he had gone there. Rebecca couldnt help but feel a little sorry for him. He never got to know anyone here. Maybe I should talk to him sometime? But Rebecca immediately dismissed the thought. Shed heard that silent people were usually the ones who caused the most trouble, and usually preferred to be left alone. Oh well, so much for that, she thought as she turned her way and strode towards home.

To reach her destination, Rebecca had to walk through the downtown shopping area every day. She took her time, as she usually did, gazing at the many beautiful , yet unaffordable, items in the shop windows. It was too bad, really. She definitely wanted that, and maybe this too. Window shopping was so great! Unfortunately, she didnt look where she was going, and as she passed by a dark alley, a hand reached out over her mouth and pulled her into the alley! Rebecca gasped in fright as she was pinned against the wall.

Why, hello dolly, where did you drop in from? The young man who grabbed her snickered. He glanced over at his buddies, who also seemed to have evil grins on their faces. Id say this ones ripe for the picking, dont you, guys? The only answer he got was loud guffawing from his cronies. Why dont we take her lunch money, and then show her what a good time is?

One of the cronies laughed. Look, dudes, shes shaking. Poor baby, are you scared? The laughter echoed in Rebeccas ears. Dont worry, well take GOOD care of you. All four men began moving towards Rebecca.

Hey, knock it off! Leave her alone!

The men turned. Whos there? Rebecca also glanced in the direction of the voice. Standing at the rear of the alley, was the young man whom she had seen earlier!

I said leave her alone, circus freaks!

The men laughed. What do we have here? A little boy with nowhere to go and nothing better to do? Get lost, kid, cant you see were busy here?!

Im warning you, scuzzball.

Get him!

The young man stood his ground as all four guys rushed at him. He round housed the first man with little difficulty. The second man tried to kick slide into him, but he jumped over him and kicked him in the back of the head with his heel. Rebeccas eyes widened as the third man snuck up behind him and grabbed him, and the leader moved in on him, more than willing to deliver the blow. The young man, though, timed it perfectly, raised his arms, and slid below the leader as he knocked out the third man. The third man went down like a sack of potatoes, leaving the leader. They rushed at each other, and the leader tried for another punch, but the young man dodged, sucker punched, and kicked the leader in his groin. The leaders eyes crossed as he went down for the count.

The young man stood, victorious, catching his breath, and then turned to the still-present and still-shaking Rebecca. Are you alright?

Rebecca blinked. Was she? She took a moment to catch her breath as well. Yes, Im fine now. Thank you.

The young man smiled. No problem. Youre Rebecca arent you? You were in my nature studies class.

She blinked again. Oh yeah.

Well, Ive got to jet, but my names London. Be more careful next time, okay? And with that, he was gone

Rebecca stopped to pick up her books. London, hm? Interesting name. But I wonder who he is exactly? No one in our school knows how to fight like that!
