Chapter Three: Admittance of Family
Harry sighed as he collapsed into the room he shared with Ron.
It had been an extremely tiring day.
After the Sorting Hat incident in Dumbledore's office, it had taken Minako and Harry three more tries to land correctly in Diagon Alley.
From there, everything went downhill.
Minako and Hermione both had constant arguments over their points of views on different things, they ended up running into Draco Malfoy, who shamelessly flirted with the oblivious raven-haired girl, then, he and Harry had gotten into a fight, ending with:
Harry now had a split lip, three large bruises on his left arm, five on his right, and an extremely aching stomach.
Hermione had cast a spell to cover up the wounds so that Mrs. Weasley wouldn't freak out. It didn't help him that Minako had beat him in the head repeatedly for 'being such an idiot that you would get into a fight over something so trivial as a Quidditch match.'
'Little does she know, it was more about her.' Harry grumbled in his head. This was so not going well. He was really glad that he was going to be at Hogwarts in just a few hours.
Dinner had already ended and Minako was yet again drinking out of that small Capri-Sun pouch of hers. What was even in that thing? Did he even want to know?
'That girl.' She intrigued Harry. She was such a mystery. He never knew what she was going to do. Harry grimaced and shivered at the thought of what had happened when they had taken a break at the Leaky Cauldron for a drink.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione sat in a booth, butterbeers in front of all three of them.
Hermione was going on about how much she had studied while she was on her vacation in China. The Chinese wizards had a totally different perspective on life and death then they in Britain did.
Harry laughed at some of the stories she had. He stopped when she pulled out a package and handed it to him.
"Here, Harry. I got this as a late birthday present for you since I wasn't here to give it to you."
Harry blinked and took it. He smiled. "Thanks, 'Mione! It means a lot to me that you thought of me while you were in China. By the way, do they have those Amazon warriors there? If they do, did you get to see one?"
Hermione had to laugh at her best friend's expression. He always was one to want to know about anything foreign.
Harry had said that he wanted to be an auror for his future career. Then he would be able to travel, and do all kinds of cool stuff. Yet, he knew that there was going to be a lot of work involved.
Hermione smiled. "Sorry Harry. But, did you forget that the Amazons died out? Didn't you read that book I gave you last year?"
Harry looked sheepish and she knew he hadn't.
Hermione sighed. "You are hopeless, Harry."
Harry smiled innocently. Something he did very easily. It fooled many people.
The only people it didn't fool were: Minako, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Fred and George, Percy, Ron's parents, and any of the teachers that had known Harry for more than five seconds.
Harry was anything but innocent.
Ron laughed. "Drop the innocent look, mate! It don't work on Mione and me!"
Harry had to laugh with this. "Yeah, guess you're right. By the way, Ron, thanks so much for stealing me from the Dursley's. That summer was becoming hell!"
The other two sighed.
"So, Harry. Who was that girl that came out of the fireplace with you?" Hermione asked.
"Who?"
"Y'know, the girl with the raven hair and purple eyes? The one who came out of the fireplace of the Leaky Cauldron with you?"
Harry gasped. "Oh yeah, you mean Minako Yami, the girl with the paranoia complex?"
Ron laughed. "That's a nice way to put it, mate. But...what do you mean, 'paranoia complex'?"
Harry sighed. "You mean you don't know what a paranoia complex is, Ron?"
Ron looked clueless.
Harry sighed yet again. 'If this were an anime, I would be sweatdropping, and Ron would have question marks over his head.' Over the summer, Harry had become practically addicted to manga.
He had exchanged some of his wizarding money for muggle money, and went to a muggle bookstore. There, he bought his very first manga book.
It was called Yu Yu Hakusho, volumes 1-5. He had also bought: Ranma 1/2....too many of those to count! He thought he'd spent about.....a good two hundred dollars on that series. He had learned quite a few Japanese customs from that book.
Course, Harry wasn't that worried on how much he spent. He had thousands more money in Muggle terms in the vault 687(?) of Gringotts, the Wizard Bank.
(Okay, I'm getting away from the point here. -.-U)
Harry sighed for what seemed to be the fifty-millionth time that day. "Ron, a paranoia complex is a psychotic disorder characterized by delusions of persecution with or without grandeur, often strenuously defended with apparent logic and reason. It could also mean an extreme, irrational distrust of others. If you take both of those, I'd say you had our little exchange student in a nutshell."
Ron snickered, and Hermione was shocked.
"Harry James Potter, that's not a very nice thing to say! Though, I am quite surprised that you know exactly what a paranoia complex is."
Harry shrugged.
Ron suddenly stopped sniggering, and pointed over Harry's shoulder.
Harry groaned. "She's right behind me, isn't she?"
The other two nodded.
Harry looked up, and smiled innocently.
Minako smiled back innocently as well, then grabbed the back of his shirt, and dragged him out of the Leaky Cauldron and into a private dining room.
Let's just say that Malfoy wasn't the only reason Harry had quite a few bruises.
Harry groaned. 'Well, guess I can't blame her. But....did she have to kick me so much? And especially, did she have to knee me....down there?'
Man, that had hurt!
'Jeez, how many years of karate did that girl take? I've never seen, or felt for that matter, somebody give that hard of a right hook. And did she really have to use the S.I.N.G. on me? That really hurts!'
(Note: S.I.N.G. stands for Stomack, Intestines, Nose, and Groin. Those are the four most sensitive parts of the male anatomy. Sorry, Kat hasn't seen Miss Congeniality before. I love that movie!)
Harry growled lowly as he remembered back to the incident with Malfoy.
Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Minako all walked out of Flourish and Blotts together, arms full of books.
"So, Harry, have you had a chance to open the present I gave you?" Hermione asked.
"Um....no. I haven't had the time between stuffing my face, getting the shit beat out of, and shopping."
Hermione and Minako laughed.
Hermione laughed because of the look Harry had on his face when he left the parlor that Minako had kicked his ass in.
Minako laughed just because she thought it was funny. 'Weird, I never laugh like this unless I'm with the twins.' (P.S. No, she doesn't mean Fred and George. She means Nikolas and Kristopher.)
Harry grimaced. The punch that Minako had given him to the jaw still really hurt.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't Potter and the Mudblood. Oh, and also the Weasel." Sneered a cold voice from behind them.
Harry growled. "Bugger off, Malfoy!"
"I don't think I will Potter. Who's this?" The blonde-haired Slytherin walked over to them and stopped directly in front of Minako.
"I'm Minako Yami. I'm the exchange student from Japan." Minako bowed. "It's nice to meet you, Mister...."
"Malfoy. Draco Malfoy."
"Oh, then, it's nice to meet you, Malfoy-san."
Malfoy bowed. "Konnichiwa, Yami-san. Hajimemashite." (Good afternoon, Miss Yami. How are you?)
Minako beamed. "Konnichiwa." (Yes. I'm okay.)
Harry blinked. He could understand what they were saying, but what Malfoy was saying just didn't sound right from where Ron and Hermione were standing.
"What did they say, Harry?" Ron asked.
"He said, 'Good afternoon, Miss Yami. It's nice to meet you. She said Good afternoon, and I'm pleased to meet you." Harry translated.
Harry sighed as Malfoy turned away from Minako and began to rag on Ron for being poor and a Muggle-lover.
Harry, for nearly three minutes, merely twisted his pinkie in his ear.
Suddenly, just as Ron was about to punch Malfoy....Harry had had enough.
"Shut up."
Everyone froze.
"Stop shoutin' like your king of the friggin' world. You're making my ears bleed, you bastard!" Harry slowly made his way to Malfoy, Ron and Hermione backing away. Minako just stood off to the side. "Now I've got some common sense for you. If I was a pureblood, it wouldn't change who I am. If I did have a lot of gold like you, it wouldn't mean I'm nice. And even if I was a Malfoy, it wouldn't stop me from kickin' your ass!" Harry took a hold of the front of Malfoy's shirt and brought him in close so their noses were almost touching. "Who do you think you are, anyway? Do you think you're god, huh?"
Malfoy sneered.
Harry doubled up, receiving a blow to the stomach.
Soon, a full-out dogfight had started.
Harry sighed. (Geez, how many times is he gonna sigh today?)
The raven-headed wizard rose from his bed, and walked slowly over to the window. He leaned crossed arms on the windowsill, the window already being open.
Harry's emerald-green eyes searched quickly over the dark forest...the forest that held the two boys that claimed to be Harry's brothers.
'Should I believe them? They look so much like me....but of course, so did Tom Riddle. And he wasn't related to me. But...they know so much about how my parents died. Wait, so does everyone else in the wizarding world. But, they don't know that my dad told my mom to hurry to try and save me....nobody else knows about how my mom dad right in front of me...does that mean...that they really are my brothers? Ah well, might as well give them a chance. I don't know if I'll regret this or not...but, here it goes.'
Harry lightly jumped onto the ledge near the window and slid down onto the emerald green grass of the Weasley's back yard.
Harry, quickly and quietly under the moonlight's bright glow, raced towards the forest.
Unbeknownst to Harry, a pair of amethyst eyes followed his descent into the dark forest.
'What is he thinking? Is he going to admit that the twins are his brothers? About time, I thought they would whine my ears off about not being able to find Potter-san. I think he'll try to hurt me if I call him that anymore. He doesn't seem to like it.'
Minako shrugged in her tree, and jumped from branch to branch, following the sixteen-year-olds' path through the forest to the same part that they had met Nikolas and Kristopher.
"Nikolas! Kristopher! Are you two here!? Or am I just yelling at an empty forest!?" Harry cupped his hands around his mouth to magnify his voice, yet, he needn't have bothered.
"Yo, lil' bro!" Nikolas yelled, suddenly appearing behind Harry, wrapping him in a bear hug.
Kristopher appeared a split-second later, doing just the same...just no yelling.
"Hey! Let me go! I can't breathe, you nimrods!" Harry gasped out.
The twins let him go with identical sheepish looks. "Sorry." They murmured.
"Listen, I don't know if I'll live to regret this or not, but....Well, it's nice to know I'm not the last Potter in the world!" Harry smiled.
The twins nearly fainted from happiness. They were both about to grab Harry in a group hug when Harry's violent side surfaced.
"The first one to try and start a group hug...will eat dirt." Harry growled just for good measure, and he just had to laugh at the looks on Nikolas's and Kristopher's faces.
Minako smirked as she stared down at the three of them. She was happy for the twins. They were like brothers to her.
Minako shook her head. 'I wonder if he'll still want to be their brother when he finds out the truth.' With that, and as silently as not even a ninja could, she was gone.
Harry, near dawn, climbed in through the window of Ron's room, only to hear....
"Ahem."
Harry turned, and saw Mrs. Weasley.
"Um, morning, Mrs. Weasley!" Harry smiled cheerfully.
"Now, Harry, what were you doing sneaking in through the window at this time of the morning?" Mrs. Weasley's foot tapped impatiently, and Harry knew he was in trouble.
"Um, just went for a walk in the forest. Nothing happened, I swear!" Harry gave Mrs. Weasley his most honest and adorable look, and Mrs. Weasley visibly melted.
"Okay, Harry dear, but...don't do that again! Ron woke up in the middle of the night and found that you were gone! I've been sitting here all night waiting for you to come back!"
"Sorry, Mrs. Weasley. It won't happen again." Harry promised.
Mrs. Weasley smiled, then left. "Oh, Harry, get your trunk downstairs as soon as possible, we're leaving for the train station in one hour!" Mrs. Weasley called to Harry over her shoulder.
Little did she know, Harry's fingers had been crossed when he'd made his promise.
A/N: Well, there's the end of this chapter. Sorry, I was really busy with...stuff. Not going into detail. Please read and review! Oh, and I'm really sorry that the acceptance of Harry's brothers came so soon. But...they are playing a very important part in the story. You'll see later. It has to do with a mirror and a time turner.
Sincerely, Kit.
