Fan Fiction ❯ Future Self ❯ Future Self ( One-Shot )
Future Self
A/N- I'd like to thank Snoopy22 for inspiring to make this fic. This is a one shot and the sequel to Her Future. I hope you all like it just as much as the prequel! The italics of the fic start out when Kevin is 18, not 17.
Disclaimer- I do NOT own 7th Heaven.
Summary- Kevin goes to a fortune teller and she tells him about his future.
Future Self- One Shot
Kevin stepped forward as the little boy in front of him walked into the tent. He was in front of the tent of the fortune teller. He had no idea why he was doing this. The 17 year old probably just wanted to see his future. There was also the fact that his girlfriend Mandy asked him to go. She wanted to know if they would have a future together.
Minutes later the little boy walked out from the tent with a smile across his face. Kevin watched the boy skip past him when Mindy, who was behind him, urged him to go into the tent.
Kevin sat down on his knees and held his hand out, "Good morning, boy." With his other hand Kevin fished out a crumpled dollar bill and handed it out to the fortune teller.
"I'd like to know my future."
"How many years of the future," Kevin thought. What much could happen in a few years?
"7 years." The old lady started to look at his hand and told him everything. As she told him he imagined it.

Kevin parked into Mindy's driveway. The two noticed that her parents were there yet and Mindy looked at Kevin with a hopeful expression. Mindy unlocked the front door and urged Kevin into the house. Even though her parents weren't there she held Kevin's hand and snuck up the stairs dragging him behind her.
She slowly closed the door and pulled Kevin on the bed. The two started making-out and even thought didn't intend too, they ended up doing more than just make-out.
It was about an hour. Kevin and Mindy decided to stop and Kevin got dressed and went back home. When he got into the house he snuck upstairs into his bedroom and dozed off to sleep.

1 Month Later
Kevin was at his locker getting his stuff to go home, when Mindy ran over to him.
"Kevin!" Kevin pretended he hadn't heard her and continued stuffing his school books into his backpack.
He slammed his locker door closed and turned to face Mindy, "How many…" He was about to yell at her, but then saw her face. It was puffy and red as if she had just been crying, "Mindy…"
"I-I'm pre-pre-pregnant!" A fresh round of tears rolled down her face as Kevin dropped his backpack and hugged Mindy.
"How are we supposed to tell our parents?" He paused as an awful thought crossed his mind, "We're going to have to get married."
"But we broke up…"
"I know…" They both sighed.
That day Mindy followed Kevin to his house. They had called Mindy's parents and told them to meet them there and they had beaten them there.
When Mindy and Kevin walked into the house Carol, Kevin's mom, and Mindy's parents were sitting at the kitchen table. The two sat with them.
"We have to tell you something…"Kevin started.
"Go on." They all said as Mindy and Kevin exchanged glances.
"I'm...I'm pregnant."
"What!?"
Carol stood up and looked at Kevin angrily, "I guess you two will have to get married, won't you."
Kevin and Mindy looked down, except a smirk crawled across Mindy's face.

3 Months Later
After 3 months of being married to Mindy, Kevin became suspicious. Mindy hadn't had many mood swings, whenever she said she was going to appointments she never wanted Kevin to come, and she wasn't getting any bigger. She seemed to look like the same Mindy as always.
Mindy way laying on the couch reading a magazine when Kevin walked in, "Hey Honey,"
Kevin sat down on the far end of the couch, "You're not pregnant are you?" Mindy gulped.
"What are you talking about?"
"You're not pregnant, Mindy!" He looked furious, "I'm not stupid, Mindy, and I'm getting divorce papers.

7 Years Later, Kevin Kinkirk, 25
Kevin was now a police officer and at the moment he was at the Buffalo International Airport. He was at a small office when a voice came onto his walkie-talkie.
"There's a lady here that seems to be threatening us." A few minutes later 2 women were seated into seats and a security guard walked over to Kevin.
"What's going on?"
"That lady," The man pointed to the shorter of the 2 women, "Lost her purse. She started threatening us when we wouldn't give it back."
"I'll be right back." Kevin walked off to find the bag. There was only one place he could think of to find the bag. It was the room where the destroyed belongings that could be threats…which was very obvious.
To his surprise, Kevin got it just in time and went back to the room where the women were. He stood next to one of them who looked quite attracting.
"I got your bag before it was destroyed." He said. The girl almost fell as she stood up to get her bag.
"Thanks." A smile gleamed on her face.
"My name's Kevin Kinkirk."
"Lucy Camden."
"Do you want to go to dinner tonight? I'll bring my brother." The other woman quickly stood up.
"No, it's ok. We should be on our way now." Kevin noticed Lucy glaring at the woman and smiled.
"Excuse me for a second." She grabbed the woman's arm and dragged her to the other side of the office.
Kevin stood waiting for Lucy to come back and then saw her running back towards him, "Where do you want to meet?" He smiled and they talked for a little bit.

As Kevin and his brother Ben walked through the crowd at the restaurant they caught a glimpse of Lucy and her sister coming towards them. When they were all face to face Mary and Ben were in shock. \
Once they all sat down Kevin started to speak, "Mary, this is my brother..."
"We know." Both Ben and Mary said in unison.
Ben stood up and grabbed Mary's arm so she would get up. She got the message and followed Ben. Kevin and Lucy stayed in their spots and talked to each other about themselves until the two others came back.
They walked back and sat down and then Mary and Ben started talking about how they didn't like each other. When Mary mentioned Ben's "girlfriend" Kevin interrupted.
"What girlfriend?" Kevin then noticed he shouldn't have spoken, but a smile still crept across his face.
Mary grabbed her coat as she got up from her chair, "Thanks for the dinner, Kevin and have a good time, Lucy."
"You're welcome." Kevin said and then he looked back at Ben, "You still love her...go after her and get her back!" Ben only looked at Kevin in protest, but few seconds later he grabbed his coat and ran out.

A Year Later- Kevin Kinkirk- 26
Kevin looked at his wife and learned over to kiss her, "Hey sweetie." She smiled before returning the kiss. The two had gotten married back in April and lived together in the garage apartment. Kevin had never been happier in his life. Over the years Kevin had divorced Mindy, become a police officer, met Lucy Camden-now Kinkirk-moved to Glen Oak to be with Lucy, and got married to the love of his life.

The fortune teller finished telling Kevin about his future and looked at his face. A smiled filled with happiness filled his face, "You must be happy."
"I am." He stood up, "Thanks." He then walked out of the tent walking right past Mindy who started running after him.
"Hey! What happened?" She continued running, "Did we get married?" When he didn't answer she only shrugged and caught up to him.
7 Years Later (Really)
Everything had happened. After finding out his future Kevin let everything happen the way they did. And after waiting for 7 long years, he was finally with Lucy Camden-Kinkirk. Sometimes he wanted to change the way things happened, but whenever he remembered Lucy from what the fortune teller said, he always let things happen just incase it changed his chance of being with her. If it hadn't been for Mindy, he would have never known about Lucy.
As Lucy got up from the bed he thought to himself, I love you Lucy Kinkirk.
